Jhay-R Asgre .[.pink.spider.]. I just think that tifa is boring no I dont hate her I mean she's a good person she puts others before herself and blah blah but I just dont think she is much fun to me she's just another person there is really nothing about her that I think makes her stand out personality wise shes missing 'something' and I think thats why I cant seem to really like her I dont like her but I do respect her character
also when I think about Tifa, the first thing that comes to mind is the color gray because she usually wears black and white and when you mix that you get gray gray is a simple color not dark but not light I think that its a pretty color, tranquil and very solid but its dull so I just think of it as an apathetic color and I think tifa is like this by nature and so thats what I've come to think : D
i'm sorry to say but if tifa didnt have big boobs she would probably have less fans. ok dont flame me but it is true. not to say that all her fans only like her for that reason but quite a few do See, I think your problem is that you don't really take the time to read into characters other than the ones you like. Tifa's personality is just as interesting as Aerith's, Cloud's, and all of the others. Her past certianly does not make her boring. You cannot have a past like Tifa's and be a boring person. Even Johnny is interesting in his own way.
Tifa's color is black and white for a reason. Her color design was meant to relate her to a star. Just as Aerith's color was meant to relate her to a flower. Also, if Tifa's breasts were normal size she would still have as many fans (not counting those dumb-a** pervs... stare ) Actually, I have no idea why people continue to focus on her breasts... it's begging to irritate me. Agreed, if you only look at the negatives, you will never see the positives. She's a great person with a very interesting past, as you had said. She lost her father to Sephiroth on the day he became evil, and almost died fighting him to try and avenge her father. She grew up with a man that soon lost his identity, and a future lover in waiting. She's everything BUT dull, and if you see her as dull, man you must have one hell of a more exciting life than her. That, I truly doubt... Viva la Tifa, Bra! now I said tifa was dull, not her past or her background also my life is pretty intersting so trust me it is exciting that I can guarntee I just dont see her as much fun she's just kinda boring ><; and I dont wanna here any of this: 'what the hell she like had to go through so much so she cant always be cheery' because as I said I dont hate her and I dont blame her for not always being cheery but I just dont think she is fun! sheesh 'like she's so kick a**' and that makes her fun how?
but whatever there is no point in arguing I just wanted to say what I think : D

I think Tifa should have died. Although, if she had then there wouldn't have been a big emotional scene in the game for me - Because i hate her.
Unlike Aeris crying

Unlike Aeris crying Please I was glad Aeris died. First I laughed then a did a little song and dance about it. Good reddens to her. If Tifa had died I think Cloud would have been way more emotional for her then Aeris because he's known her for almost all of his life where as Aeris he had only just meet not that long ago. I don't think Cloud would have ever recovered if Tifa was the one to die. He might have even killed himself. Anyway getting on topic. Tifa ROCKS!!!! SHE'S THE COOLEST EVER!!!

F*cking god damn mutha sh*t c*ck damn.... Okay, I'm good now... That is damn harsh on both sides, aight? I mean, I can see, I can SEE if you dislike a character. But to truly hate a guy or girl, especially both Tifa and Aeris, that's just kinda cold. Aeris, she was great, and I love how you felt emotional when she passed on, but don't say "Tifa shoulda died instead." Because, how does that make you any worse than Sephiroth? He killed Aeris, you want Tifa to die in her place. By the law of conversals, you want to kill Tifa... And Ranma, I expect better of you. We both know that Cloud would have gotten really sad over the loss of Tifa, but you see the pain he felt when Aeris died, you gotta feel that pain. That guy loved them both, and the loss of Aeris nearly killed him inside, and to dance and sing about it is just as cold as that guy... On one side you have the angelic layer, the other side the motherly warrior. Both fought to better the world, one died, and one was eternally scarred. They were heroes in every sense of the word, they fought not for fame or fortune but for right and justice... And yet, they are hated? What about them brings out the hate in people, man? Okay... Big Tifa AND Aeris fan here... My heart feels like it's slowing down everyday, I swear. God, I need a Bud Light or a San Miguel right now... Gotta learn with eyes unclouded by hate...

i can't really stand tifa, but i would never wish death upon her and I would never say I hate her, because I dont. Hate is such a harsh emotion, and such a harsh word. How can people go about hating good people? I try to find the good in everybody even harsh people that say good characters such as aeris and tifa should die.

Jhay-R F*cking god damn mutha sh*t c*ck damn.... Okay, I'm good now… Woow! ok dude I think you might kneed a drink or something to calm yourself. eek Jhay-R Ranma, I expect better of you. Man Jhay-R calm down I was only kidding when I said I did a song and dance about her death. However I did laugh because I thought the whole seen was just so damn cheesy. To be honest I was just glad Aeris wasn’t in the game anymore. I would have been just as satisfied if Aeris had simply left the party rather then died. I was just glad she was gone period. Also I don’t think I would Aeris’s death nearly killed him inside. I mean sure he was sad but once you play the other disks you almost never hear him talk about her again until around the very end.

Sorry, I have major anger issues, especially when I read stuff that I highly disagree upon. I don't know, even when a person is joking around, I take stuff very seriously. It's one of the many negatives about being bipolar. *sigh* Can't take a joke, never could....

Squeezed Lemon StrawberrieIceCream squeezedlemon Come on, guys!! I mean, I respect your opinions and everything, but do you remember what she was like in FF7? Here is a list that my friends and I made: 1. She leaves a child in charge of a bar that is located in Midgar slums. ....What the hell?! And that's bad on Barret's part, too. Marlene could have been mugged or raped, and this shows that both Tifa and Barret are very irresponsible. (BTW, Barret admits to his irresponsibility, and I like him, so he gets away with it on my part.) 2. When Aeris came with Cloud to save Tifa from Don Corneo, Tifa is rude to both of them. I think this shows Tifa's need to be the center of attention, especially in front of Cloud. And I know I wouldn't be awful to someone who's come to help me! 3. She's a very boring and dull character, and people usually like her only for her looks. She never really does anything eventful, either. 4. Her overall presence just irks me. (why is her chest so huge?) 5. She makes herself out to be Cloud's best childhood friend, but she wasn't really friends with him until all the other boys were gone from Nibelheim. She and her friends were never nice to Cloud when he really needed friends. This shows that Tifa is dillusional. 6. Okay, Beat Rush takes only 30 hp from an enemy..? And what the hell do dolphins have to do with Tifa?! I mean, her hair does look like the tail fin of a fish at the end of it..but.. 7. Her attire of clothing. Rikku pulls it off. Tifa doesn't. Interesting, but some of your points are a tad weak and only based on opinion. Here are just my thoughts (and a few corrections here and there) with regards to your list.
1.) The whole 'leaving a four year old in charge of a bar' thing rather irked me too, but I'm guessing that Avalanche's reputation kept Marlene safe for the most part. Not many people would want to face the wrath of an angry and emotionally charged Barret and Tifa. Not when they have bombs that can destroy reactors. sweatdrop That, and Tifa does care quite a bit about Marlene, despite doing this. She practically raises the girl while Barret spends long periods of time away looking for another source of energy in the events prior and during Advent Children.
2.) Tifa originally didn't know it was Cloud in that dress, but once she found out, she and Aerith actually sort of 'clicked' and became much more friendly. She only acted rude because they were strangers that suddenly came in, and she had no idea whether they were real prostitutes or people in disguise. Keep in mind, the only reason Tifa was there was to get information from Don Corneo and beat him into a pulp soon afterwards. Before finding out that Aerith was with Cloud, who was on her side, she considered them as an obstacle to get past to attain what she needed.
3.) This was purely your opinion on whether she was dull or boring. She actually DOES have much going for her, but you'll never notice if you don't pay attention to her and continue to look at her negatively. She's caring and very motherly, but is also rather feisty and more than ready to kick butt for what she believes in. There's a lot more to her character that you're missing.
4.) Meh, I don't like it that she's really busty either, but you've got Tetsuya Nomura to blame for that. It's not her fault she apppeared the way she did. That, and some girls naturally have big breasts, but get bothered about it all the time because they don't 'fit it.' It's not fair to Tifa to dislike her because of her cupsize, just as it isn't fair to ostracize a girl because her breasts seem unnaturally large.
5.) Cloud is the one that made them out to be best friends, since he was so messed up in the head. Tifa had no real choice but to go along with it, otherwise he might suffer from a serious mental breakdown. If she didn't go along with the act, Cloud would know something was up, and then issues would arise that would impede on the group's ability to function. Particularly Cloud's ability to act as a leader.
6.) What does her limit breaks have to do with her? Have you even levelled her up? Beat Rush does a lot more than thirty damage. As for the dolphin one... It's kind of like how one might wonder why Cid would constantly carry sticks of dynamite with him if he's a pilot who smokes. Sometimes, it's just better not to ask.
7.) Tifa's only wearing the basic fashion trend for young girls her age in Midgar (you'll notice some other NPC's will dress similarly). Again, Tifa didn't choose her clothes, Nomura did. This is a rather lame reason to dislike a character, as if someone hated Aerith because her dress was pink. :/ They're very unconventional for a martial artist, but she eventually changes into something much more comfortable (and conservative) in Advent Children, since she's not living in a slum anymore.
Technically, I can always find at least one (or ten) things that I'll like about a character, so I'm definitely okay with Tifa.
It also helps if I find them fun to draw. ninja
That aside, it's okay to have a differing opinion, but some of the things you said are not exactly based on fact, but more of your interpretation on how you see her character based mostly on opinion.I appreciate that you're trying to stand up for Tifa, so I definitely won't argue. It's good that you're a loyal fan and I respect your opinion. However, I saw the majority of these things in other female characters too....and most of them WERE true. I'm not contradicting you, but I think that the majority of Tetsuya Nomura's later characters were based on Tifa and her actions. Even if many fans did like Tifa, Nomura wouldn't have put Cloud with Tifa or Aeris because he'd lose so many fans. So in this case I think both of us are right....Tifa is bad and good. It depends on how you see her. However, I found it necessary to state my opinion here. i agree with you

Um, I just skimmed through the Tifa 'arguement' above, and just had to say- I agree with the final outcome of it. Tifa is a good and 'bad' person. She's a human character with human mistakes--- she has flaws and she has strong points, which I think makes her such a great character, makes her human. I thought Aeris always had thatr perfect-esque, and I always thought Yuffie was TOO flawed(though I still loved her) but Tifa, she has a perfect balance, in my opinion. Besides her balance of flaws and the like, I always liked Tifa because she always followed what she thought was right, even if she knew the outcome might not be the best, or what she wanted. She was loyal, kind, sincere, spoke her mind, you know? She didn't hold back. I didn't think Tifa was dull or boring at all, because she had many different emotions instead of an apathetic one like Cloud's, or a perfect one like Aeris'. Disliking Tifa for her chest seems to be a huge thing that dislikers of her just seem to throw in there. Are you going to say you hate every girl that was born with a huge chest? O_O; It's not really their fault, it's "Gods", or Nomura's in this case. XD It's not like Tifa flaunts them or anything >_>; I also disagree with the comments made about Tifa's attire and her damage to the enemy--- what does that have to do with her personality? That's like me saying "I hate Aeris because she only deals 12 damage with her stupid pole!" (Which is NOT why I dislike her at ALL. I love Aeris' attire, and I think she's beautiful--- that doesn't make me like her anymore. If the whole world based who they like and dislike based souly on their appearance, this world would be more chaotic than it already is!) About that number "2" thing, how was Tifa rude to Aeris and Cloud? :/
GAH, I wasn't supposed to make comments about that arguement, sorry. Y_Y I just felt like I had to say something. It's all my opinion, and I respect yours so please don't be mad. If I offended someone, I am very sorry. ^^'
All in all, Tifa is my favorite FFVII girl because she has a good balance of human flaws and human strengths. The way she puts others before herself is truly amazing. She actually wants others to be happy, then just focusing on herself. (Like it was mentioned earlier, she let Aeris flirt with Cloud and didn't bite anyone's head off. She let Cloud act accordingly, let him do whatever he wanted, didn't try to control him.)

I personally think she's an awsome character, she's tough strong and very determined. Of COurse she has some flaws but hey who doesnt, you cant always look at the bad things in people you need to look at the good things too. And Tifa is an awesome person and also very caring, she fights for what she believes in and that's why I think she's the best female character in FFVII.
