"PIE!? THE DESSERTS ARE OUT?!?" Lei screeched, flailing her arms wildly as she nearly tripped over herself in a mad dash toward the food. Luckily, one of the other crow warriors on guard spotted their wing-sister and dragged her to the side of the room before letting her run in search of pie.

Sarya muffled a giggle as Elly shouted thanks to Sky at the literal sky. "I don't think Sky really sent them, Elly, but we should keep 'em anyway." She tucked her walnut into the folds of her Blankie, having no pockets, through the sleeve of her dress. "So, you wanna do something? The puppet show is boring and inaccurate, for the little, little kids. Y'know, can't have them thinking about sacrifice and death, only glory," she commented a little sarcastically.

"Yeah, It was my dad that killed storm king!!" Elyy fumed. "Pwyll knows that as well as any Bard worth there salt." Snorting he tucked the nut into the inner pocket of his pants that he had his brother sew in to mimic his father.
"....I hate these parties....wanna go down into the court yard and play roll in the map?" He looked hopeful to his cousen. It was strange, despite that he was older she bested him by at least 2 inches in height.

((OOC: Did you mean "play in the mud"? razz PS: I'm getting on AIM now, maybe we'll combine some RPing and save space.))

"I know the stories; Lei talks so much she ought to be a bard..." Sarya glanced dubiously at their formal clothing. "We'll get yelled at if we play in the mud, Elly... Beside, Momma won't let me get out this room 'til the other little kids leave." Sarya huffed quietly. "As if they want to play with me. I'm just a crow."

Indeed, my faerie friend. ^_^ Club and I are making IC posts on AIM right now.
Seems we won't be having any human go with us from the party into Faerie. :/ Oh well, I'll write up some interesting Fading Land incidents for those who will wander to us.

Also, to everyone coming in later: what would your character be doing on an average day that would make them be outside?

Elly made a face. "And I’m just a fox." he grinned and leaned in close to his cousins face. "Yah know, Foxes EAT crows."
Sarya flinched and nearly lost her balance backing away fast as she flushed and stuttered incoherent sounds.
Elly laughed heartily. "Your weird Sarya...But your my cousin so I suppose I've just got a weird family....If you don't want to play in the mud we could......go flip up ladies skirts?"
"Only the drunk ones, so we don't get caught!" Sarya laughed happily, burying her face in her hands even as she agreed to Elly's usual antics.
"Even if we do, i'm just a stupid animal and your a girl so its ok!....Hey lets steal the pie!! i bet we could get it from auntie lei!"
"You're not a stupid animal," Sarya protested sincerely, even as the two of them started jogging toward the party inside.
"I bet it'll be easy to get from auntie, she's been drinking a lot tonight."
"Eh, I don't care what people call me, daddy and papa love me and thats all that matters." Elly slipped under the banquette table, crouching low. "Lets see, what do we have for prey.." his tawney blue spoted eyes slowly looked over the room. "...theres pwylls lute......your moms skirt.....peep.......auntie lei..."
"Don't forget the puppet show, we could make Rhys have another 'episode'," Sarya replied. She realized something and turned her head to look at the young fox-boy. "Oh! Did you even hear about that? It was pretty recent." "Episode?" he looked interested, leaning in close. "Oooo do tell!" Thanks to ellys influence Sarya had become as sneaky as a fox in a hen house.
Sarya motioned with her hands as she recounted what she'd heard. "Gwen' an' Maelor, the Keeper of Winter, came over to the palace to report on their divinings from Hen-Wen and give Rhys a check-up as usual. But, this time, they were halfway through the check-up and chatting with Calie an' Owen about what's been going on in Faerie, an' suddenly, BOOM!" Sarya flailed with her hands. "All these minor earth elementals appeared out of nowhere, and Rhys was screaming, and later Owen investigated and the elementals all came from a summoning magic which he's never seen the likes of, because it's wound with an enchantment spell too." She was about to launch into the juicy spellcasting details and remembered Elly wasn't studying magic like she was. "Um, anyway, the elementals just left of their own accord an' didn't hurt anything but traveled in different directions of the border. Gwen followed them and when she came back she said they were all working on repairing the damage to the earth at battle sites." Sarya made more wild motions. "And these elementals were summoning fey from Faerie to help them!"
"Fey?" That made elly look surprised. "Like gramma and opus....You can summon fey " he chuckled softly. "I wonder if daddy knows that since he is the one always dragged to fey, he could drag them back I bet!" He pondered then, tail swishing at his eager thoughts. "I got nothing against lil ryhs...and if we hurt him dad might skin me....but, that doesn't mean those other brats arn't fair game..." a slow but evil Cheshire grin grew on ellys face.
"He wasn't hurt or anything, they were just talking about Faerie when it happened," Sarya commented. "I think Rhys is inheriting Owen's fey blood and it's bothering him or something. Anyway, fey would make him do it again, I think."
Sarya eyed the swishing tail with her ever-present curiosity, but didn't say anything. She was aware that tails were spines, so she didn't want to grab it and hurt him or anything, but it looked awfully cute and fluffy...
"So if I get close enough? Hm..." Ha glanced up at the puppet show. "...hey I got a idea...if there gunna mess up the epic tale of Storm king, lets REALLY mess it up!" he scooted all the way down the table till he was as close as he could get to the puppet show without leaving the hiding place. "How about gaint unseelie monsters that eats gwen?"
Sarya smothered a giggle, crawling after. "I could actually see that, though, from when the fey army was going to attack Tenwalls. What about a dramatic scene with Mister Hollow Prince?"
"Yeah but i don't know what he looked like.....Ooo what about bloody mary, or the buttfaced faerie! Or....or...."
"The jingleman?" Sarya tried, trying to come up with the scariest faerie thing she knew of from her limited knowledge.
"Peep says he’s only scary to feys....Papa said that sariest fey he ever saw was a man named Gaunt."
"Gaunt... sounds familiar," Sarya shrugged. She glanced over and tsked. "Dang it! They finished that scene. Now it's just Calie and Owen leaving Faerie together."
"......" Elly leaned out veeeeery carefully, eyes focused.
Just as the couple were about to leave a giant fish let out of the bottom of the field and ate Calie in a single bite, it the proceeded to beat Owen senseless with its tail as calies arm hung out of its mouth.
Sarya hiccupped down a laugh and smushed her mouth closed as she almost fell over, watching. The kids all gasped and "oh no!"d as if it were part of the tale, as Pwyll looked confused and one of the bards behind the stage yelped, "WHERE'S MY HAND!?!"

Elly made no move to supress his laughter as the bard freaked out. Thats what they get for stealing his fathers glory!
The fish finished beating owen and ate him too, the it started to spew fire and set everything thing around it aflame.
Pwyll caught the sound of his laughter and glanced there way with a glare, suddenly snapping his fingers. The fish and fire illusions of Elly disappeared, and said boy was shoved backward about ten feet by an invisible force. Sarya gasped as he was blown out from under their hiding spot and panicked, not knowing what to do.
"Ieee." Elly slid on the polished floor and shrugged off the blow. "Spoil sport bard, hasn't he ever heard of creative license? Hrmp, he already took liberties with the story!" elly stood, dusting himself of dramatically.
Sarya glanced around uncertainly, wondering if anyone else had been watching. Pwyll shot Elly a tense, intimidating smile that said "do it again, it won't be a shove" and Sarya scrambled out from under the table to drag her friend away in case he wanted to take that challenge.
"Hrmp." he would have. "Stupid bard, just because hes got that fancy flag he thinks hes special!" Elly paced, dark thoughts of revenge starting to storm in his mind. "I'll show him..."
"Ah, um, Elly," Sarya sweatdropped, tugging him away. "Didn't you say Peep needed revenge? I think, uh, that on your revenge list he's higher," she scrambled for an excuse.
".........Ooo I can get two for one!" Those schemes grew. Sometimes Elly was just too unseelie...
"Hn....well pwyll only said not to cast illusion on the puppets again..."
Sarya blinked, pursing her lips with puzzlement. "Pwyll never actually said anything..." She glanced around at the room full of nobles, the drunken or visiting ones relaxed and at ease, and the nobles she knew from Tenwalls all smiling but on edge over tonight's declaration of peace. "Actually I think that mud plan is sounding really fun right now, let's go outside."
'Momma will thank me later, even if I do get dirty.'
"Really?" he perked. "Great! we can roll and dig and make mud pies!!" he grabbed her hand and started to drag her to the stairs there were outside. As they went back by the banquet table, an idea clicked into Sarya's mind. "Hey, Elly, first can we get something to drink? I'm thirsty," she pointed to the nearby bowl of pinkish liquid. He skidded. "Mm hm, that sounds good. Pranks are thirsty work!"
Sarya poured them both drinks with the ladle politely. She felt kind of embarrassed now, that she could think of something like this, but it was too late to randomly say "nevermind, about-face".
Elly rocked on his heels, claws clicking softly on the floor.
"Here ya go," she handed him his drink and sipped at hers. She really couldn’t taste the difference. How the heck did Lei know which punch bowl was which, jeez!?
"Thanks Sary~" He purred gulping down the punch. "Mm, that was good."
Sarya couldn't drink it that quickly, but attempted to and ended up coughing a little. 'Ah! Uncool, uncool, dangit, stop being so uncool in front of him!!'
"Don't choke." elly warned, refilling his own cup. "Your mom would blame me some how."
Sarya laughed and finished her small cough attack. "She's doesn't blame you all the time..."
"Just most the time....your mom doesn't like me very much. Papa says its because i remind her of daddy...whatever that means." He shrugged, fishing out a cookie from a platter.
"I guess it's that 'foxes and crows' thing, isn't it?" Sarya smirked, and finished her drink, setting down the used cup.
"But your mom isn’t a crow, daddy calls her a shrew."
Sarya gave a '.' face. "Shrew?"
"I think its a kind of mouse...." he looked thought full. "but he calls her lots of things, like witch, wench, shrew, a word i'm not allowed to repeat.."
"Uhh..." Sarya glanced at Elly's second cup of alcoholic punch. "Done drinking or no?"
"I'm good." he nodded. "If i drink to much i'll have to pee and dad stitched my pants closed."
Sarya blinked in surprise at that but said nothing as they headed back outside.
"Mud mud o glories mud! How i do love thee~" elly sang as he started down the stairs with little skips.
"You're not supposed to leave," one of the human guards started, and was elbowed by a crow-warrior. Sarya snickered to herself in irony. "I guess being pitied by the flock has it's advantages too," she muttered quietly.
Elly stuck his tongue out at the gaurd. "I don't have to listen to some halfwit gaurd that got stuck gaurding a window!" he jeered.
"Elly," Sarya tried, tugging on his sleeve. "Don't pick fights..."
"Hrmp. He started it." Elly insisted. He hated taking orders....
"Just because were smaller then him he thinks he can order us around, I'm not afriad of him!"
The guard said nothing and tried not to look to skeptical. "Elly, come on, you said mud," Sarya insisted weakly.
"...right! mud!" His attention adverted elly started back down the stairs.
Phew. Sarya followed after him, daintily moving down one flight of stairs in her slight heels and then getting annoyed with the slowness and stopping to pull them off. "Wait, Elly, hang on a sec!"
He stopped with a annoyed look. "why do you bother with shoes?!"
"I can't help it, Momma dressed me!" Sarya complained, standing up again, barefoot. She carried her shoes in one hand and hurried to catch up.
"Yeah, i know the hardships of a parents dressing us." he tugged on his pant hem. They got to the end and elly dove into a large muddle puddle, sliding along on his stomach. "Mud <3"
Sarya laughed loudly at the jump slide. She followed and moved farther away, toward the edge of the mud puddle Elly was in. She grinned and suddenly kicked a spray of mud at him.
"Heyy!!" He spat some out out and slung a handful of mud at her and her clean dress. "come on in, the mud’s still warm!"
"Oh?" she hesitated only a moment before jumping in on Elly's advice as usual. The mud splashed around her and more got onto her friend than she actually got onto herself. "You're brown."
"I know <3" he sighed content, blue pupils giving off a near glow. "Hey a frog!" elly hopped after it, mimicking its movment.
"Frog? That's really out of season around here," Sarya mentioned, squishing through mud over to it. "Maybe it's someone's familiar."
"....why would anyone want a frog?" elly poked it which made it leap away. He giggled to himself.
Sarya held up a finger without thinking and began reciting. "For arcane magic users who connect with their familiars, the toad or frog can give a substantial constitution and health bonus. The frog is also tiny, and very helpful for mages who travel because it's easy to carry, and it can find it's own food anywhere with bugs very easily."
"...but frogs die in the cold, and if they dry out there dead, and if they get sat on, stepped on, sliced, diced, julienne, chopped..." he rattled off. "Not to mention the fact that there cold blooded." he pointed out, catching it between his two hands. "Here! Your going to be a magic user."
Sarya's expression fell and she glanced away, her mouth a small line. "No I'm not."
"Hm, so you wanna be something else? You should be a shadowdancer like me!!" he scooted closer to her, sitting the frog on her head. "That way i don't have to take the dancing lessons with some stupid girl."
Sarya's head fell a little so her expression was shadowed by her bangs. "I'm a girl."
"I said a stupid girl."
Her head snapped back up angrily. "How stupid is a mage who can't cast any spells! How stupid is a person who's not a crow and not a human! How stupid is it that I can't even manage what magical babies can!? There's absolutely nothing smart about me!!"
Elly looked shocked. "S-sarya..." He turned his head to the side ashamed. He'd used his own magic in front of her without thinking again. He forgot how sensitive she was about it.
"...your not stupid." He insisted. "Because if your stupid, what does that make me? I'm not anything anyone has really heard of....I've got two dads...." he laughed softly. "...your my only real friend Sarya...so don't say your stupid....because I don't think you are."
Sarya hesitated. "But you're cool, and you can do stuff 'coz of it. W- I mean, Rubix told me about how you can all breathe underwater and he can't." She twisted her mouth and glanced up at the moon. "I'm supposed to be this special, amazing, gifted magician, and I can't do any kind of magic at all."
"Supposed smosed. If fishes were wishes then we'd all be well fed. Sary, that’s your problem; don't live for what things SHOULD be but how they are. Even if you can't use magic lots of people can't, find something else to be strong in. Or steal peeps magic wands, dad cheats that way."
Sarya looked back at Elly and laughed. "He 'cheats', that's a funny way to put it." She shook her head. "You know, I never-" She gasped as she was cut off by a sudden hand clamped around her mouth, and slumped into the arms of the black-clad rogue behind her. Behind Elly, another rogue reached forward with a similar cloth kept in his palm aimed for Elly's mouth.
Ellys eyes had gone wide as he saw the shadow fall and snatch his cousin. He stiffened he jerked, smelling another attacker.
A glimpse of cloth was all he needed to see and he quickly activated his sleep ability. "Get away from us!" He yelled as the spell should of been taking hold.
A few soft thuds came from around him, and from someplace high a dagger zipped toward the boy.
Elly rolled backwards to avoid the dagger. Why was there so many attackers here?! Why were they attacking them?! Being smart enough to know when he was out classed he cast a very different spell. His sleeping cousin suddenly burst into a bright red light, faerie fire.
"DAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDYYYYYYYYY"
A moment later, screams erupted from inside the ballroom as well. No matter where he looked, Elly couldn't see any other rogues still outside and if there were any more outside, they weren't attacking. He crawled forward to pull Sarya into his arms, both well light by the faerie fire. He clutched her tight to him, scared over what was going on. But his papa and daddy were in side, and so was peep...they'd come get him when everything was ok.. His father would only have him run back outside and hide..
”...Sary..”

((OCC: This is going to be followed up by everything that just happened inside at the party for those you that are actully are. If your going to make your first post just act like these events havn't happened or are jsut happening......heh heh....my hand...))

((OOC: Yall can put yourselves here, in the Material Plane, or in Faerie. I don't care either way 'cause I can work it. If you're here in the ballroom, fight! Wahoo, show off those skills. If you're gonna play in Faerie, don't worry, we're nearly there. ^^))

Inside the castle ballroom, humanoid creatures dressed head to toe in black clothes dropped out of the shadows amongst the partiers, who screamed in reply. Chaos broke out as daggers and darts began flying about the room from the assassins' side, and the crow-warriors leaped to retaliate with the human guards close behind. Rhys shrieked and there was a burst of violet light around him before he disappeared. Owen and Calisse ran to where their son had been and, with a word of magic from Owen, disappeared.

Alianne directed the nobles who couldn't fight to safety as the spies disguised as servants held back the wave of assassins, while Rubix and Dirk led the action in melee on the dance floor. Dirk's shadow lords took out those that tried to melt away into darkness and perform sneak attacks. Lei, grinning drunkenly, perched upon one of the rafters and picked off the rogues trying to follow Alianne.
