Atrum Luna Sweeet-Lolita mew_mew_mi-chan I think speaking Lolita is speaking in an older fashion and using proper grammar. I speak in a more proper way a lot, although when I'm not it's far from it. I say "'tis" all the time, and even correct people on their grammar. Does anyone else speak in this way, or similar? I correct peoples grammar ALL THE TIME xd , and I do say "Do" alot. Such as "Do stop that." "Do sing for us!" Old English Lives still... Old English is Anglo-Saxon, and it looks more like German than anything.
Maybe you are thinking of antiquated or Elizabethan English?

I try to speak in an articulate way. My friends often poke fun at me for useing too many large words. I can't quite understand why that is funny but I let them do as they please. It's no harm to me. By the way, this is a delightful subject.

Most of the time I honestly do the similar thing, I tend to correct some of my acquiantances[sp?], and they too tease me in return.
I also get bothered of small mistakes in grammar, I think I have OCD.

Maybe you are thinking of antiquated or Elizabethan English? Thank you for pointing that out i was just about to do that =) My experience with proper english compells me to explain that you are thinking of the late Middle English. on the bridge of Modern Englsih that you see in Shakesperian text. I was always charmed by Shakesperian dialouge so i use that quite a bit... every time i run across a skull i always have to quote "Alas Poor Yorick i knew him well V.V" tehe. Curse words are for the weak minded who don't respect themselves and can't think of anything more creative to say to offend others. But it's an easy habit to grow out of little do you know =)

 aquaintances* Yay for more OCD people! >.> <.< *ahem* anywho, yes if you are trying to achieve a more lolita "proper english" facade i suggext not using a terrible deal of slang, curse words, "like" in improper context (that one kills me...). and thinking about you say before you speak. If friends around you don't understand or make fun of you, I say, find different friends. =P but that's just me. you can always be my friend ^___^

By the by, that type of improper language also gives me quite a difficult time; along with "thinking before speaking". @.@;;
However I really don't mind what my friends may think of how I speak, yet in times it could get rather annoying; though I have patience...hrrm, how fortunate for them.

I usually say Thank you and Please a lot. I also apologize a lot. When I'm amog friends though I little curse word slips in sometimes (trying to break the habit!) but that's just usually joking around.People think it's funny when I cuss sometimes though,even when I'm angry and don't care anymore sweatdrop . But it's an awful habit! It doesn't make you sound cool! Unless you're really surprised or angry,then what can you help that slips out?^^;

I swear like a sailor, unfortunately. I have been cursing less and less now that I hang out with a few people who don't like hearing that sort of thing, though.

Well I don't use that old of a vocabulary...I..well how to put this? I simply try to just sound polite , clear , quiet , and tall. Referring to tall as a way to speak , I mean confident in whatever I state. 3nodding
