YAY stupid people...

So I finally decided that regardless of the possible millions of harsh criticisms involving no actual critique that I could recieve and thus piss me off me off on a regular basis I'd go for it and post my art at the art arena.

Here's a comment I got
On 09-25-2004, Drack-San wrote:
nice attempt at anime but its stiil not

Which uh...if you look at the art I wasn't attempting Anime at all.
Because my preferred Art style is Marvel/TopCow/Darkhorse...you know...Comic style.

I read some of the other comments as well. Some people have absolutely no clue as to what CONSTRUCTIVE critisism is. Best I can suggest is to ignore them and delete their stupid comments. It's because of idiots like that, that I won;t post in the art arena anymore. I want constructive critisism... not mindless, rude, idiot chatter. stressed

It works both ways doesn't it? I think that's all I'll say on that

This is the way I see it.

Yes, a mother can try and be as discrete as possible, but NO ONE is forcing ANYONE to gawk at a breastfeeding mother. If the sight of breast feeding bothers you, then you don't have to look.

*I am using "you" to mean anyone. Not you, gamerbabe, in particular*

I just think it's just ridiculous that some folks think that any breast feeding mother should be confined to some nasty restroom, or ridiculed for doing what they're SUPPOSED to be doing.

I am not close-minded to the views of squeamish people who are easily offended by something like that, I just believe that they can choose not to look instead of complain about it. And in that particular thread I was in, some of those people were VERY ignorant and condescendng to anyone who breast feeds in public no matter how discrete they would be.

I know we've hopped to new topics since the breastfeeding discussion but I had to throw something in. I had many friends who did and i was completely supportive of them. I used to have to fend off strangers who were freaked out by the concept of it even when they covered up. Then when I my wonderful son, I couldn't for a few medical reasons and placed him on formula I proudly can say that his doctor has told me constantly that he is the healthiest child their practice has ever had (knock on every piece of wood i can find biggrin ) but there where people that would come up to me and tell me that i really didn't love my child enough if i didn't breastfeed him. I was seriously strange to me to have sat through one version of babyfeeding anger and then the other side. I think what it gets down to is one major thing. As the old saying goes you can't please everyone.

I want to know where all of these stripper-wannabe moms are that are "whipping out their tits" for the world to see that everyone keeps expressing disgust in.

I have NEVER seen a breastfeeding mother just whip it out and make a display. I happen to believe more what's happening is the people watching them are escalating what is happening as they are staring at these women who are just trying to feed their babies (every woman I've seen BF has always been discrete). The problem is more with the on-lookers and their mentalities then the BFing moms.

XD No Fluffy, you unfortunately can not.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with women doing it in public. I've never seen an indiscrete mom, although I have seen one do it in the middle of walmart, but she was very quiet and covered up.

Hell, I'll be the first to say I think breastfeeding is nasty and not for me. I love my boobies and I never planned on doing it, but I don't have a problem with it. Logan was super healthy and took to formula like a champ. But those are my own personal issues. I do get sick of hearing that "the breast is best, you should do it till they're 3." It just makes me feel I'm not doing the "best" for my child.

Everyone's going to have a problem with something, I suppose.

Try a military base. There are some nasty people on military bases. I've seen some moms be very careful with how they do it. They turn away while baby latches on and that's that. There are some moms that don't do that though and frankly it's disgusting. I think some moms want people to see them breastfeeding because they think it'll get breastfeeding out there. I know ya'll think no one forces anyone to gawk, but umm I think some moms are practically begging for it with the way they behave. It's like they're daring anyone to say something and their total lack of consideration for those around them is appalling. I'm not saying go to the restroom to feed the baby, but what is so damn hard about turning away from a crowd to let baby latch on or off instead of you know dangling and ewwwwwww *shudders* I've seen some trailer trash ghetto mammas out here and they are doing way more harm to the breastfeeding cause then good

This is completely off the breastfeeding topic, but since this is a rant about stupid people in general....someone had the nerve to tell me that I "failed" in giving birth to my son because I was induced and had an epidural, and an episiotomy (sp?)!! Number one, I HAD to be induced. I had technically been in labor for two weeks and wasn't dilating, and they confirmed it as delayed first stage labor. God knows how long I would have been having contractions if I hadn't gone on Pitocin, being that I was at 41 weeks when they induced. Number 2, back labor sucks. I had been having hard contractions for almost 16 hours when I got the epidural, and by then, the contractions had moved to my back. If I did not get numbed, I was going to kill someone....probably my fiance ( as it was all his fault in the first place. j/k xd ). Three, I'd rather get stiches for a clean cut, than a ragged tear.

But what really gets me, is this person had the nerve to say I was not a good enough mother, because I couldn't have a completely natural birth. ...sometimes I hate people. xp

neutral Gamer, I LIVE on a military base, remember? We were in TM together.

I still have not seen any of these "stripper" mamas and say the problem is with the gawkers, not the women feeding. Unless these women are getting up on a table top and screaming "look at me" on the top of their lungs, I don't think they are intentionally trying to be seen.

Gindion: My mother had to have a 4th degree episiotomy with me and why anyone would say such a thing to you is uncalled for.

OMG... someone said you "failed" at childbirth??!! I'd have slapped them! you can't "fail" at childbirth! Both my children were over 9 pounds when born, so I *had* to have episiotmies or I would've just ripped in two! I was only 113 pounds when I got pregnant (the first time). I was WAY too petite to not have to have an episiotomy. Some people are so ignorant and stupid that it's not even funny!

that's pretty rude. (not rude as in good but rude as in uncouth)

Ugh how can anyone say you "failed?!" It doesn't make anyone any better if you went natural with no drugs or opted for them!! I was thankful to get an episiotomy. I would have tore anyways, and although it took me months to heal, I can't tell I ever had one!!

Pitocin seriously intensifies contractions, I just don't get people.

Here's another nail in the coffin of stupidity:

It got stupid when she made a gross generalization about this very guild we all love so much! Read the whole first post to learn more. I made my response on page 45.

rolleyes Glad to know she bothered to research the guild before blasting it. If she had, she'd know the majority of our teen members are not parents but supporters.

I think the only thing scarier then her viewpoints is the idea that she seems to have bought into her own hype that she is so far advanced from everyone else, and that her viewpoints are actually intellectual as oppossed to the self indulgent ramblings created to make herself feel better for the choices she has made in her life.

*sigh* well there goes my faith in humanity... again....
Self-indulgent is definately a word I'd have to agree with using to describe that....

mad and I'm not happy at the "so-called parent's guild" being mentioned at all... It's all in all a pretty pathetic rant...
I'm really having trouble holding myself back from making a rather nasty post there... but forget her.
