i'ts not bad but i have read better...
For my atleast the only reason i'm going to read the 7th book is b/c i've invested so much time in it already..
But get a load of this... Recently a lady tried to get Harry Potter banned from the school library becuase "it promoted witchcraft" and i was like omg lady than you have to empty out our already horrid reading selection ( i've read all the books that interest me )

Yeah, I think anybody going on about how it teaches witchcraft or promotes it or anything is bologna. It's not Wicca. Rowling is just making up stuff. Totally harmless.
I just stopped reading after book 4 because it was fun before then, and at the end of four, the spells and problems and solutions were still just as whimsical as they were before, but everything else was such a freaking downer. I don't want to have so much emotion vested in something where people can just die unnecessarily and other people can consistently escape everything against all odds and Rowling doesn't have to explain any of it because whenever she hits a wall plot-wise she fixes it with either "magic" or coincidence.
I will mostly say good things about the character development though.

Harry Potter is pretty good, and I don't see that much wrong with it, especially when compared to some other books. There are alot more books out there though that are sooooo much better than Harry Potter.

People are so stupid when it comes to this topic. There are plenty of other books in libraries that would have a worse influence on a kid than Harry Potter.
