Jironimo Kasumi Isel In Chains Shram Isel In Chains We had a choice of going to Catholic or Protestant service at summer camp. There was no "n/a" option. I went to the Catholic service. For the first time in years, someone actually called me out on how bad of a person I was, and I felt content with it. Then I got some strong sacramental wine, that s**t burned like hard liquour. Then, the dude who was holding the wine just tossed back the whole thing after everyone was done! I was like daaaaaaaaaamn brutha'! Dont Judge The People Who Try And Fail

Judge The People Who Cower And Complain Why the hell would I go to Protestant service? Man, I got a wafer! And alcohol! Yay for legal wafers and alcohol! Yeah! I mean, it's so hard to score a wafer of dead bread nowadays... I'm gonna cut that joke short before I ruin it.

Jironimo Kasumi Well, the point of that story is that I got drunk off sacramental wine. sweatdrop I usually don't eat before church but I was unusually hungry today and after a few seconds with the body and blood I felt the symptoms of drunkenness hit me (after all I'm practically a 2-beer-queer - if you don't count me being gay already even without alcohol). It was so good that something from church made me feel that way, but I was a little embarrassed about it. Prodistance drink Cranberry Juice instead of wine..... sweatdrop Back when I was Christian this was what we had on the third Sunday of the month. I knew that Catholics had drank wine and how the story there was wine and what ever. So I always wondered why they were so different. In the end I found out and just gave up on them both. I would personally never take mass if it was Alcohol for the reasons, I am very low-tolerant of Alcohol and I jsut think it is wrong to drink either way. sweatdrop

Like I said, I wasn't proud of getting happy off a sip of wine, but it was awkward that it made me happy at a time when I possibly needed joy.

I understand now...!!!! They get you drunk to make you feel happy and to make you think your are in a state of Nirvana because of Christ. ninja

I was actually considering that too. Although it is strange that that only happened now. It sort of caught me off-guard, but made me feel glad to be somewhere that's (supposed to be) joyful.

Nirvana and Christ in the same sentence that doesn't involve Kurt Cobain in any way. That's funny. I like how Christianity doesn't even come close to serving the type of Nirvana that Buddhists strive for. It's a different nature of inner peace that Christians tend to achieve.

Isel, Buddhists find Nirvana in different situations. Christians try to find it through songs and dance and such. Mainly this is Prodistants. Well... truthfully, I'm technically UU now, but since I have gone through all the sacraments available to me (except Marriage and Holy Orders), I am still Catholic. I can never leave the religions that I study. sweatdrop
But you also have to consider that I did not drink a glass of wine - it was a simple sip. It shouldn't have been enough to affect anyone - even me - but it did today and I found that an interesting story to share.
