kheleksul Noraboo If anyone knows of anyone open (gaia or irl) for really good american comic style art please let me know. <33 I'm having a major craving. IRL commission: DF, Equilus ; they don't color though, so they're only open for lineart commissions. (Um, hi everyone, by the way. ^_^) eee, khel! *snuggle*

An invitation is definantly advertisment, that's the whole point but how can you call it spam? It has a message and purpose, I don't send them out for the heck of it.
I simply can not understand why anyone would call it spam or be offended by an invitation. All i got was positve response, everyone that has replied was real happy and honored about it. 3nodding
And there is no way I would have time to stalk artist on the forums, or write a personal letters to the people I don't know, when I have 4 jobs and school. stressed

Personally, I don't like it if I was sent the same invitation as twenty other artists via PM. I mean, it's a kind of compliment but it's also kind of like "Hey, I like your art, but I don't want to be committed to pay for it by commissioning you." Not totally, but kinda of back-handedly. I think mentioning it an artist's thread and making it more personal would be better appreciated, and personally, I think that would make me more likely to join.

Well, PM advertisement is considered solicitation, and solicitation isn't allowed on gaia and is warned for as spam. So that's how it's considered spam, basically. Cause our system sucks and we don't have a seperate warning that clarifies advertisement vs spam, even though the ToS seperates them. X_x

woe, it's not for me. the person who commissioned me, wanted to know if any of my artist friends were willing to color for me. /because i suck at coloring XD;

haha i think the same thing when i get invites :]
i think "ok, so let me get this straight. you are hosting a contest with 5-50mil in prizes. you send me a copy/pasted invite because you wanted art from me for so and so long [something you also said to maybe 50-60 other people and have never ever mentioned to me personally bc we have never spoken]. meaning you have more than enough funds and are too cheap to commission me. swt lol, is this a compliment? ******** that."

magaly but you know if i were as honest as i wanted to be with most people i would have been banned many a times from gaia, so i keep all my hostile thoughts to myself. :i heh, same here. but alas, i've reverted to more lurking as of late. as for the contest stuff, i've come to the realization that i'd rather pay for art that i want then have my characters drawn in a way that i won't like. as for invites, i just delete them. then again, i get them few and far in between because i don't do a lot of CG art. i kinda view invites in the same way as people who bump threads for art. i'd rather have someone who makes an effort to talk to me than just bumping to get some free art, never to be heard of again.

it's funny to see how many people agree to that.
i am looking for someone who does really good marker stuff and sends originals. it's for a group image with 6 people, my OCs. minimal or no background, all human. i want the original so i can get it framed and put it in my room. i am re-decorating x]
my budget is about $100 in cash or 2mil+ in gold, maybe more or an 03 item, whatever i don't know. D':
it has to be marker, maybe watercolor if it's really good - but i prefer marker.
no chibis, no wide-eyed sailor moon/trigun anime, has to be able to draw distinct races/facial features, no plain realism... etc
yeah now you can see why i can't find anyone ;D
can anyone point me to awesome markerers?
i was looking at mutt on da, but from my calculations [including receiving original], she's over my budget. emo
something like her would be good.
