Drywater This is a good idea to make into a thread, especially if you attend conventions and like to stay late before returning to your hotel. ^^ My mom once taught me a little trick where you take your housekey, put the handle end against your palm and make a tight fist around it so the sharp end that you stick into the the door is poking out between your index and middle fingers. It's discreet, and you should do this when going through parking lots or dark places without a lot of people because you can use that sharp jagged edge as a quick and easy to maneuver blade. Plus, you can prolly catch most creeps off-guard because it looks like you're unarmed. whee biggrin I'll keep that in mind

Nezumi, it's always a good idea to have a close enough female friend who will let you kiss her to pretend you're a lesbian. XDD

The "A" says.. Not something I'd expect to find around a lolita guild. But a good idea.
The "A" has spoken.

I've read that it's good to look at a person you think is following you. Turn around and look them in the eye and ask them if they know what time it is. If you see their face, then you can go to the police and tell them what happened if they attempted to rape/harm you.
I read this quite a while ago, so it might be outdated.

Gah. Thank god I'm not the only one wondering about this stuff..
I do remember a few tips, like...
Even if your lost, act like you know EXACTLY where you're going. If you look lost, predators are more likely to approach you. Try avoiding asking strangers on the street where things are -- if you can, find the closest convenience store or Mickey D's, and ask someone who works there.
If you're waiting alone for someone to pick you up *ie. Mom*, find the nearest open well lit establishment -- like a restaurant or something -- and have them pick you up there instead of waiting somewhere outside.
I personally won't stay in an elevator alone with someone I don't know. If someone gets on *that isn't pushing a stroller or dragging little kids with them or something*, I just politely get off on that floor and wait a minute before calling another elevator. But that's just meh. Though that's rarely ever happened. We always seem to travel in pairs or more.
I've just been taught "Don't go places alone." At Grand Session, we'd have Mango escorting us to and from our rooms. *huge college guy* and even if we were without him, we'd be linking arms and staying in the best well lit places we could find.

Well, it is really useful to take self defence classes. Some more tips: 1. If someone you know is going to pick you up from work or school and someone you don't know arrives and tells you to get in.. Don't go. To help this situation get whoever is going to pick you up to tell you EXACTLY the details. Even what will happen if something goes wrong. 2. Don't take candy or anything from strangers. xd Always ask your parents if you can take it. 3. Always be calm if you are in a bad situation.

Nezumi Kakashi If anyone invites you to their apartment, say no. xD I huge DUH, but at Anime Expo there's this guy that I've known for about a year and he asked me up there....I said no of course, but later that night he was trying to flirt big time and at the rave/dance thing he kept trying to freak dance with me. o-o I pretended I was a lesbian and kissed my best friend to "prove I was taken". xD; Then she chased him away with her umbrella. sweatdrop Haha. On the band trip last weekend, this guy in my grade came up to me and a few friends. He was being remarkably creepy, and eventually the boyfriend of one of my friends put his arm around her waist. In a flash of inspiration, I put my arm around the waist of one of my other female friends.
He left us alone after. But I was in oshare-kei, so... it wasn't a lolita safety moment.

Half a brick sounds effective.
