Yakima blinks some at Lindy, actually the thought never occurred to her... "Hrm..." her normal happy-go-lucky demeanor becoming the most serious its been in awhile, "honestly... I have no real clue. I mean... we're all like family here... to think older bro is just... gone well..." she shakes her head some and stops herself from trailing off too much.

"As Renzo would probably say, we keep the memory dear and life goes on... but Im confident we'll find out what has been holding him up and get him back in one or two pieces." she stands as she starts to turn off equipment then walks Lindy to the door to escort her out, "Whenever you guys are ready to head off just gimme a holla and bout ten minutes to freshen up then I'll be ready to roll wit cha."

Just when she was about to feel a bit more relaxed, Yakima's comment of 'one or two pieces' just didnt sit right with her. Standing on the doorway she nods then decides to pay a visit to the hangar and her crew who she hasnt really been hanging with for a while (yes she always hangs with them every day) and a few hours away from them has been like days to her.

Lindy steps up to the elevator, the doors slide open then steps in as the doors close behind her, a male's computer voice booms inside the small rectangle box, "Please state your destination", it asked, "Hangar level A please", Lindy answered and the elevator began moving. While the elevator moved she leaned against the wall with her arms behind her and looked up at the numbers that increased.

The elevator arrives at its destination and she steps out as three others get in and take it down. It was really busy down here as opposed to the quietness of the ships hallways, metal against metal, the hissing and sharp popping noises from welding metal plates and deconstruction. As Lindy walks down the safety path towards her destination, a pair of hands reach over and cover her eyes...

Meanwhile:

In the Hangar, Guardian finished pulling the dust-cover off his newly arrived cycle, smiling predatorily at the hefty, armored frame... it was time to party... oh yes, was it ever. Climbing on, he deftly slid on his somewhat battered black helmet, and hit the starter.

With a rumbling purr, the bikes micro-fusion core came to life, and settled down to a soft, melodic background hum, the flood of power coursing through the bike brought its systems online, and it rose just slightly higher as the magnetic wheel drives came online.

The hud blinked to life, and system diagnostics ran through all the onboard systems, each one turning from deep amber, to a glowing green and then fading. "Lasers, Arm." With that soft command, Guardian brought the two blister-turret mounted pulse lasers online, and grinned as the targetting crosshairs tracked wherever his eyes chose to alight... the faintly whirring turrets, slaved to the bikes FCS, faithfully followed the reticle... this bike was definitely not just for show. Twisting his hand just slightly, he spun the bike's rear end around, squealing the tires in an arc to the right before easing off and letting the bike idle.

"Eat your heart out Lindy... my wheels are better than yours."

He smiled as he spoke to himself...

((D'oh! now its in the right thread))

"You have one chance to guess who this is, if you dont get it right I'll blurt out who you like", a female's voice spoke to her, Lindy replied with a relaxed tone, "Uh but I dont like anyone". Eliza sighed then removed her hands from Lindy's eyes, "Seriously Captain, you need to go with the flow sometimes, dont always be so serious". Lindy grinned and nodded then slapped Eliza's rear and ran away laughing, "Haha how's that then?".

"H-hey!", Eliza yelled at her captain then gave chase while blushing slightly. When they arrived at their squad's hangar, the old mechanic stood in front of a covered up machine, Lindy and Eliza stopped, "What do you have there?", the older woman asked, "Its my means of transporation to the meeting with the ASDF people.", Lindy answered as the old man nodded then removed the cover to reveal a 2 wheeled sport-type motorbike. Danny walked up to the bike and slowly traced the curves on the seat, "Wow...captain, you're going out on this? Wouldnt it be more common to just use a jeep?". The old man chuckled then crossed his arms, "Heh heh, there's more to this meeting than meets the eye, isnt that right Lindy-chan?". Everyone turned to her as she nodded then walked up to the bike and mounted it, "Actually...I always wanted to ride one of these", she gave a childish smile to everyone who in return just laughed.

A man in his early 30's with combed back black hair and a goatee approached Lindy but before he could open his mouth, she first did, "Dont worry Johnny, I'll leave some things for you guys to pre-occupy yourselves with.". Johnny grinned contently then Eliza added, "Jeez, you can be such a workaholic..."

Later that evening at the mess hall, everyone had gathered in their usual table, talking and joking around while eating, Lindy walked in with several sheets of paper then passed them out to each and every squad member. The table fell silent for a while with confusion, "Nice one Captain", Eliza said giggling but Lindy did not find it funny, "Do what it says and thats final.", she commented sharply. Johnny leaned forward waving the paper in the air, "But this says 'Take it easy and enjoy the day off!'", the crew nodded and waited for Lindy to say something else, "I could work you down like the maggots that you are!". With a surprised look on their faces, they all scoot away slightly from Lindy, "Haha Im kidding guys but seriously, just take it easy." she said with a smile then got up and went to get her food, they all shrugged and left it at that.

The Vector cruised quietly across the sky, a blue and white jewel upon a tapestry of orange, pink, white, and gold. It was sunset, and one of the two test pilots of the ASDF's latest fighter project sat at the center of the experimental craft, murmuring softly to herself. Eileen sighed. Meeting the Blue Roses again had gotten her wondering...what had happened to everyone? Where had they all gone? ...and as her friend Rika had accused her... did she leave them all behind? Was being a full fledged adult about responsibility, frustration, and regret...and was that thought just (yet another) a sign of selfishness?

She shifted in her chair, and cranked up the jpop, trying to drown out the thoughts. "...i don't like being like this..." she murmured. Throughout her life, she had been happy. Even during the bitter battles in space with her father's fleet, and even during the troubles the ASDF went through, she had had friends. She pouted, then took a deep breath, and blew it up at her long bangs. It had a fairly dramatic effect, and her gray-green eyes regarded the effect for a moment before she sat up straighter in her chair. "...baka leen-chan..." she muttered to herself. "...ano...how did it go..." She hummed the famous little telecom jingle, then fished her cell out and patched it through the Vector's brand new comm suite. It was a completely exposed line, but this was a personal call...with just a bit of cheating.

Yakima laid in her bed, despite her best efforts to get some sleep seems like the sandman wasn't coming as soon as she'd hoped. Learning her lesson from before, she kept her thoughts 'closed'.

[ How ironic... the same people who took him away from us for so long will probably have to help us get him back. Mmm... Keno what is there that is making you stay... it's not like it's against your will or anything... so just what holds you there? The metallic plane is... dangerous to say the least, a clear reason why no one really tries to mine there. Although, the maruts and other citizens are pretty blah to deal with as well. ]

She rolls over and tucks herself a bit in the blanket. [ Even then, why the ASDF? Did you seek something with power? Fancy mechs? Hot babes? Well, your ex-girlfriend wouldn't fit that category just 'cutesy'. Though still, if I'd never came and dragged you back you'd probably still be there... with the rest of the elitists on their mountain overlooking the masses. ]

She sits up and grabs a hairbrush, starting to get to work on her long black hair. A glance at the clock shows it's 6am... [ *sigh* Will have to get up soon for this meeting or whatever, hope Lindy doesn't oversleep... one of us needs to be responsible. I wonder why she left and decided to join a comparitively ragtag group like us? Slightly on the high energy side, she seems cool though. Guardian, hrm... I wonder if those two are an item.]

She giggles a bit then clears her throat, 'Well, as head of intel or whatever I guess I can't admit I have no clue.'

Standing up she begins a routine check with the black mandies, telepathically checking with each one on how things are going before giving instructions. [We'll have to upgrade security before we go topside.]
"But first, a shower..."

The next morning Lindy awoke at the first sound of her alarm clock with her eyes half open and looking around at the still dark room, "Its morning already...", she sighs then slides throws the covers off her and slides out of bed, "Time for the daily routine.". Fifteen minutes later Lindy comes out with a portable blowdrier on full power drying her long pink hair while brushing it, she stops in front of the closet and grumbles when the brush encounters a tangle, "Stupid thing...". After successfully untangling her hair and drying it she changes into her uniform then grabs her personal equipment such as the wristband communicator and another device which is new this time.

Before leaving her quarters she fixes her bed then after doing so she contacts Yakima but gets no answer, "Hmm...she must getting ready. I'll just leave a message that Im on my way.". With that, Lindy left her a message and exited her room then down the hallway.

[If possible, Eileen's email may come back to her with an 'Unable to send to the following person(s)' message 'Kenosha Michinoku'.]

Yakima finishes putting on her 'uniform' so to speak, black, fingerless gloves... short sleeve, cream colored dress short... long, black slacks... sunglasses... yep, that's about it. She totally misses Lindy's call as she races to answer it on her comm unit, but is too late. [Better get a move on...] as she grabs her large purse and walks out.

A short elevator ride begins to take her to the hangar in which her Minibeta is being readied. [Wow, new coat of paint and everything...] She laughs a bit as the doors open then proceeds to make her way to a waiting area where everyone is going to meet.

Renzo, on the bridge, looks at the various security cameras within the Ose and nods a bit, "Looks like it's meeting time..." he grabs a microphone and says, <> This is broadcast throughout the entire ship which generates some laughter from crew and others.

The metallic elevator lightly screeches to a stop then the doors slide open and out steps Lindy, she looks back at the elevator, "That thing needs its brakes fixed...I dont want to wind up a pancake...". Two mechanics turn their heads as Lindy walks past them, yawning big enough to swallow anyone that might cross her path, one even dares to throw a balled up piece of paper and it falls right into her mouth. She coughs and gags and forcefully swallows the pea-sized paper ball, the mechanics laugh then another walks up to her and gives her a cup of water, she takes it and sips some, "Sorry we couldnt resist.", the mechanic that handed her the cup said while stepping back a little. "Well...we wouldnt be a happy family if we didnt know how to joke around now would we?", Lindy commented with a slight grin on her lips, sweatdropping the mechanics look at each other and scurry away.

As Lindy walks towards the meeting area she notices a unique mecha, or rather, parts of it since some of the areas were covered up with a canvas. It appeared to be under repair and so far things were going good with it, she looked around to see if she could spot the pilot but no luck, "There sure are alot of different people on here."

((There, Hikaru now has a starting point, doesnt neccesarily have to interact with Lindy 3nodding ))

The medics tried to keep Hikaru in bed. The explosion he was caught in an earlier mercenary mission was strong enough to blow up Gunshin so badly, Hikaru himself was caught in the flames. He had third degree burns from the knee up (fortunatly for his most lower part of the body, the armor that covered the legs held on well enough to decrease the damage done there significantly) and many broken bones. Most of his ribs were broken or chipped from the impact of debris and just the force of the explosion itself. His left arm was caught between falling equiptment as the mecha was being torn apart and was broken during impact with the heavy panel. The guy was awake after two days though, surprising the medics that took care of him. They explained where they were to him and told him that he had a choice to stay or leave. And that his mech was under repair. This made him cringe a bit, and is what motivated him to get up this morning and try to get to the hangar in bandages.

"Damnit, they should've waited for me." Hikaru muttered as he painfully made his way to the hangars. With his angry look, no one really wanted to stop him and assumed, especially with his bandages, that he was either authorized...or he could be taken down in a mere second if needed.

As he arrived at the large room full of machines and mechanics working around the clock to fix Gunshin, who was almost completely covered in canvas. Many cords and supports were set up to hold the large mech upright as they did their work on it. It seemed like everything was salvaged alright, but Hikaru still didnt trust everyday mechanics to work on Gunshin. No, this was something his people made, something that could never be duplicated without the burnt blueprints already etched into your mind. However, he couldn't even walk properly without biting his lip in the pain it caused him. He couldn't work on it himself. This damage was the most they've every suffered. It was time he realized his limit. He couldn't work alone anymore.

"I guess I'll consider it..." He sighed and leaned against the railings overlooking the progress on his metal partner.

((Wow, I totally misread what you'd wrote above the email response like....twelve times, Sao sweatdrop I kept reading it as Sao didn't send the email @_@))

Eileen was off base, shopping at the local G-Mart when a small, pleasant chime from her pink Nintendo DS Lite let her know that email had arrived. When she flipped the screen open, an animated Chibi Robo icon trotted along the blank screen carrying a plug, plugging it in offscreen on the other side.

This done, the dual screens faded to static, then resolved into an email from Nida!
Nida to Eileen
Eep!

It's a long story. I don't know what your clearance is, but I reckon you can dig up the details pretty easily. Suffice to say that my time off was involuntary, and since my very recent return, I've chosen to take a sabbatical from the military. I'm living a civvie life. Even switched to living in Barton. I've got a construction consultancy on the side, so I'll be able to make enough to live well, but it's not as glamorous as crawling around inside Veritechs, that's for sure.

Call me sometime. I'll make dinner, we can catch up. I'm ebrained out now, so we can even datalink if you still can't speak above half a decibel. 3nodding

"...ano...." Eileen said with half-a-decibel volume, "...barton huh?" She mused for a bit. Then blinked. Then blinked again. She looked at the screen. Looked away, thoughtfully, one finger pressed pensively to her bottom lip. Dark green eyes dropped to the screen again. The finger at her lip traced the bottom of each word on the screen. She took out the stylus, and tapped it lightly, just above the A button, while looking upwards and blowing a puff of air up at her bangs. Then she blinked a third time, and quickly looked down at the screen once again. "...haaaa...?! ...ebrained... nani?"

An employee walking by stopped in his tracks as he saw Eileen's confusion. "Hi there. Can I help you with anything today miss?" Eileen continued to stare at the screen. "Um...miss?" The guy stayed a while longer, hovering at the edge of her peripheral vision, clearly wanting to help. After all she was a girl...with a Nintendo clasped in one hand.

Eileen started to walk along, mumbling about ebrains, intending to go down the aisle, but heading straight for the shelf. Before the helpful employee could stop her though, her feet had turned her in the right direction and started her down that path. Meanwhile, she began jotting down her response on the touch screen.

Ano... Nida...why do you have an ebrain? Wasn't that scary? sweatdrop
I'll have to see if I can get some leave to visit Barton so we can eat. 3nodding Is there a sushi or ramen shop down there maybe? heart
