There is, you NEED all 108 stars (cuz you need your last rune magic) and when she dies you have to push all the buttons rapidly or else she'll die. Of course there are somethigs that you need to say to her too during that time.

I messed mine up because I didn't have all 108 stars.

You had to push all kinds of buttons? =O I didn't have to do that. I just needed to have all 108 stars before she gets wounded at Rockaxe and when Dr. Huan comes to deliver the news, he'd just call Shu in to talk to him....No button pressing there... confused

What? I thought you just had to get all of the SoD's before the end of the game, and when she gets wounded, you just have to hurry up and defeat the guy so that you can get her back to the castle as fast as possible so that they could save her... >.>
I'm probably mistaken though. sweatdrop

Actually, I heard that right before Nanami gets hit, you have two options to say something. You have to chose one in order for her to live. Depending on the choices you made in the game, the time to chose the right answer is elongated, so her survival not only depends on the SoDs and your choices, but also your reflexes as well.

This could be totally wrong though.
to save Nanami you have to have all the SoDs when leeknats arrives to your castle you know like in suikoden1, then you will get the forgiver sign, when you are at rockaxe you must choose the proper answers, and Nanami must have a good armor and be leveled up, oh and you have to had all those stupids goodfor nothing squirrels stare and dont know about this one = you had to made all the proper answers in the game, PSS: i saved Nanami and got the good ending in suikoden 2(the one where you save both Nanami ANd Jowy) and the good ending in suikoden 1 1 time i played hehe

Nanami needs to have a certain amount of i think defence points as well to save her i cant remember how high but the equipment on her should help

Nanami does not need to wear "good" armor, she just needs to wear some kind of body armor period. You need to have Forgiver Sign, and you need to select ANY option very quickly when the soldiers fire the arrows at her. This is all that's needed to make her survive. Nothing else.

in IV when I chose to execute Snowe.
That's not a mistake. That's how we roll.

biggrin Amen to that!

My dumbest moment was waaaaaaaaay back when I was a young 'un playing the first Suikoden. I was so excited, I was doing so good at finding the SoD (a good buddy of mine tipped me off that you need all 108 SoD to save Gremio) and then I got into one of the war battles, and oops, Luc dies. I didn't think it was a big deal, I didn't much like Luc. However, upon then getting the time when Gremio was supposed to ressurect, nadda. I was so angry I scolded my friend for not relating the importance of collecting all of the SoD AND keeping them alive.

He laughed at me.

Ah, to be young and stupid again...

Yes I have in suikoden 4 I used auto battle on the last bos thinking that would kill him and on that turn the turtle killed my whole party. Jeane, Hero, Ted, Paula all died but them again they only had 100 - health each

In Suikoden 2 I was rushing through a part cause I had to go somewhere and I was just doing one of those “just keep clicking yeah yeah I know blah blah this uh huh” moments cause I wanted to save and when I got to choose to put Kiba and Klaus to death I said “off with their heads”. and I hadn’t saved since just before I had helped Kent get the white dragon. I kind of stopped and blinked for a flew moments before going “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” but yeah too late.

I've done so many stupid things in Suikoden:

1. I played 4 consecutive playthroughs of Suikoden IV... gonk

2. Leveling all the Battle characters of a Suikoden on a parallel level, I mean all of them to level 60 etc... sweatdrop

3. Going to the edge of Suikoden 1 (in world map) to see if I could see the Magician's Tower without knowing that it is only displayed on the map. I'm so dumb.... xp

I have made many idiotic mistakes in Suikoden. My biggest probably was trying to get to the elven village without Kirkis thanks to the rumor from that one a*****e claiming he saw them (of course before I met Kirkis). an hour of walking right in the Forest Village or whatever it's called stressed

Chikuu
C'mon... I know we've all done some incredibly stupid things while playing Suikoden.

For me, my big OMFGWTF moment for me was when I wrote over my best S4 save file with a new one. Stupid memory cursor... And when I spent like, 2 days trying to win that war battle in S3 that's impossible for you to win, let alone survive. I smacked myself with a wooden board when I found out I couldn't win. sweatdrop

Anyone else? heart
Sadly, every war was impossible for me (well not really since I won, but it felt like it!)

They went a little like this:

*characters use healing spell* "Nobody needs healing you fukktards, you're all at full health!!!
*characters all run in together to fight enemy*
*character with fire rune hurts all my allies* "Oh great, NOW you can heal!"
*character casts Silent Ocean* "NaaaOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" gonk

I ran around in circles for three hours in Thomas' chapter on my first play through. It was the first time I played Suikoden and I didn't have a computer back then, so I couldn't look up what to do on Gamefaqs. I can't even remember what it was that I had to do...

Walking about more than 3 hours outside Forest Village to recruit the last of the Flyers. Which is supposed to be the patch farther south of the village... xp

in the first two games...there's a staircase that you just can't go up...for whatever reason...and I always try anyway...multiple times...although there was a time where I randomly popped up in one of those rooms that the staircase went to(in the first game)and I think thats why i try so hard.

My main mistake was when I played one for the first time and executed Milich. I was so furious at him for killing poor Gremio that I immediately unleashed Flik on him.
Then I found out later that you could save Gremio by keeping Milich alive. crying

My biggest mistake was in V when I pressed the wrong answer for recruiting that snake monster, and in IV when I chose to execute Snowe.

I executed Snowe every time just to hear what he said, and then restarted the game. If you choose to execute him instead of recruiting him on that last bout, his quote was so funny but for some reason I cried. I love Snowe.

There needs to be a third option, where you tie him upside down on the main mast and slap him silly. You'd still recruit him, but you'd get the pleasure of abusing his pansy butt.
