Mei Lien got out some juice and poured Blake and herself a glass. She turned to him with a blush, "Thanks, you don't look to bad yourself." She handed him the glass and smiled, "Oh, not to long ago.."

Blake blushed also as he took the glass and sipped. "Thanks. But this hair is driving me nuts. I really need to cut it." He tugged on the long strands a bit and pouted. "Oh yeah. Much shorter. But your hair is pretty long." He sipped the juice again. "And shiny! Much shinier than mine!" He added.

Mei Lien laughed, "It doesn't look that bad." She thre her hair over her shoulder, "I was thinking of putting it in buns someday." She always liked that hairstyle.

"Oooo you'd look so cute with those!" Blake squeaked and smiled happily. He really did think she'd look cute with buns. "Thanks. But I was thinking about slicking it back but having it spiky at the end. And two lil tufts of hair in front that kinda look like teardrops. I saw it once and the tufts in front made it look like his hair was gonna fly away. I'd like that kind of hair."

"Well, that souns interesting." Mei Lien giggled. She wasn't quite sure what was wrong with his hair now.
"Hey, do you think my parents will let us go to Hula Bob's or something?" She was itching to get of here.

"Of course it does." He put on a proud face...then sloppily drank his juice. "I'm not sure. You think they trust me enough? What if they insist on going with us? Not that it would be a problem it's just....I'd rather be alone with you."

Mei Lien laughed at the thought of her parents on a date with them. "Of course they won't come!" She hoped she was right. "Let's at least ask!" She grabbed his arm and pulled him back to where her parents were sitting.

"I don't care, they'll have to deal with it." She pulled him to the table and looked at her parents. "We want to go on a date."
Aspen looked at them and smiled, "Well, I'm not going to stop that." They were adults now and he had nother to worry about.

Blake twitched for a second. 'Oh I knew he'd say no!' he thought before---"Really? We can go?" He practically squealed with joy but then didn't. It'd be too weird. "Thank you, sir!"

"You're welcome, now go have fun!" Aspen smiled and waved them off. He didn't want to stand in the way of love.
"Thanks Daddy!" Mei Lien hugged Aspen and kissed his cheek. She then pulled Blake out the door, "Hula bobs?"

((Sorry all...I had a few days there I didn't even get to TOUCH my computer... Highly unusual if you know me. Anyway, I didn't even have time to think about things like RP... sweatdrop ))
Takeko smiled as the two left together, on their way to Hula Bob's if she heard correctly. Her smile faded though as the door closed. It wasn't that she didn't trust Blake...he seemed like a nice enough boy. It was just this strange feeling she had inside, like she was losing her daughter. A daughter that for some reason she'd never felt like she'd been very close to. The very thought made her sad, and she sank into her chair, staring vacantly at her empty glass.
Saffron watched his sister leave with that...guy...glaring all the while. They were supposed to be the same age! So why was he still a teen while she ran off and did whatever she wanted? The more he thought about it, the angrier he got until he just couldn't hold it in anymore. Slamming his glass down on the table, he shoved his chair back roughly, muttering something along the lines of, "I'm out of here," before disappearing out the door. He was careful to make sure he didn't run into his sister and her boyfriend, taking a different path and disappearing into the forest. He needed some time alone to think.
The door slammed and Takeko cringed. It was almost like a physical blow to the poor mother. She wasn't sure why she felt this way all of a sudden, but it was as if all her fears were coming true. She was being abandoned, left all alone. First Kane, then Cabel, now her own flesh-and-blood children, Saffron and Mei Lien....how long until Aspen left her too? Still staring at the glass in front of her, she never even noticed the single tear that traced its way down her cheek before dripping onto the table, soaking into the wood.
