Kefka laughed.

"Allright, 'Private' fetch me a drink, or I'll report you for insubordination!"

Jarik just gave him a dirty look and rolled his eyes.

"Allright, let's go."

The two walked down the tiny hall of the small building, and along the way, bumped into Kefka's droid, an R3 unit.

"What's up Icy?"

Kefka had had 'Icy' for three years now, and had stopped the monthly mind wipes so that the droid developed a personality perse. He was an astromech, like all others of the R series, and resembled an R2 unit. Ofcourse, he had bought R3 with some Nubian aftermarket extensions, the extent of which he still didn't know. The droid was a soft greyish silver, with ice blue markings, and a transparent ice-blue dome.

The droid beeped a little, and began to follow Kefka and Jarik towards the Colonel's office.

In his cell, Orrin managed to persuade the cell guard to bring out his personal items. All he had were a pack of cigs, a small receiving unit that he used as a makeshift radio, and a small digital pad that could download from the holonet anything he wanted from whereever.

The music played throughout the brig, and being the only one in the entire two celled prison, Orrin had the place to himself. The guard was young, and quiet trying to be sturdy. Small sweat beads rolled down his neck, as he suffered from the heat.

Orrin continued to play virtual sabacc, while managing to win over 90,000 credits, though the money was false.

"I wonder what a skyhopper costs, since that dumbass was stupid enough to run into me. I hope he doesn't catch hell for his wing though... that would suck..." Orrin stated, suprizingly out loud. The guard turned around and laughed. "What you laughing at, huttspawn?"

"Sounds like you got your a** kicked." The guard stated.

"You can't win if you don't use lasers. Rules are rules."

"You went down."

"If your opponent goes down, you lose with him."

"Who cares, you went down."

"Next time, I'm not playing nice. The a*****e isn't going to live, I'll ******** kill him. He won't see teh ground."

"You're just sore you lost."

"He's just sore because he knows he lost too. And so are you." With that, the young guard stared at Orrin with a glance that continued onward. Orrin slipped down and went right up to the bars next to the guard.

"You don't quit do you? You think you're so tough, and you just don't give up, even after you're beaten. Why do you persist in being an a**?"

"Because I... never lose."

All that remained a half second later was a loud snap, a lot of blood, and a guard raising hell over a broken nose.

Logar watched the MPs haul Orrin away. "Ouch, it must have been worse than I thought," he muttered to himself. "Oh, well. It should all blow over. But I'd better make sure I'm available if I'm called in as a witness." With that, the Mon Cal headed to his quarters to continue work on his latest little gadget.

((This week is proving to be very busy for me IRL, and I don't know when I'll be able to get online again. Stand by.))

((BTW, in case anyone is wondering, in order for any person to be a pilot, they must attain the rank of leiutenant, an officer. No enlisted are ever pilots. another point, How does cale know my name? I never stated it yet.))

Orrin laughed as the guard sprinted away. He continued to play holonet games, boring quickly of the action.

"I wonder if they'll court martial me... According to procedure, I should, after..." He was cut short by the medical doctor arriving at his cell.

"Time to inspect you for damages before the court martial. Protocol." He stated quickly, as Orrin shrugged when the cuffs were put back on, and forcibly marched down to the medical wing.

A small group of pilots from Ruby Squadron, the squadron that recently left training back for the graduation ceremony to be held in two days, stopped the entourage, and forced it into a side of the wall. Despite much of the MPs protests, they didn't move.

"Here's the punk. Think's he's a badass. Took down one of his own teammates, eh?" Orrin stared calmly at the speaker, as he knew that by now, the tale of how he destroyed two skyhoppers had circulated up to the highest of ranks.

"Listen, whoever you are, you may think that you're hot to trot because you can crash a plane. You aren't so tough. You have no honor. You crashed your teammate. Even if it was a dogfight that was authorized, you should be ashamed and kicked out. Lasers win, crashing loses. At least you got your jsut reward. You never crash your teammate."

Orrin kept quiet, seeing as how the odds were quite unfavorable against him, as he was led to the medical wing.

"See you at the Court! I'll have fun after you arrive!" He shouted back, before being led into the medical office.

((In the Rogue Squadron books, pilots who haven't made at least leiutenant are called Flight Officers.))

Nervously, Kefka and Jarik entered the Colonel's room, with Icy tooting softly when Kefka told him to wait by the door.

Jan Dodonna sat at his desk, finishing a comcall to someone.

"Greetings, Lieutenant Dragoon, PRivate Corran."

Both Jarik and Kefka brought their hands to a quick salute, and stood at attention.

"at ease."

They loosened up, still wondering as to why the had been called in.

"That was some great flying Lieutenant."

Kefka, quickly gave a thanks, but the Colonel's reply caught him off guard.

"Not you, I was talking to Lieutenant Corran. You two are going to be an excellent adition to this squadron, and I look forward to you flying. Dismissed."

Jarik's face never changed from the serious look he wore, not even when he got the promotion and the lack of a punishment from the General himself. he saluted smartly and turned back into the hall. when the door closed between them and rebel high comand, Jarik's face broke into a confident grin."well about damn time. see there Psycho? you worry too much. now lets go get hammered. We should go grab Icharus whille we're at it. Y'know, the guy I shot down? he needs a cheering up." Jarik looked up and down the hallway."say, Psycho, you wouldn't know where he is would you?"

((Cale, how do you even know my dude's name? its never stated! and btw, i don't know if they have xrays, but i need them for my purpose... please forgive!))

Icharus sat in the medlab, test being run on his body. Standard xrays covered the entire body, checking for anything that's wrong.

"Well," the doctor began, "you have a concussion." Orrin felt relieved, but somehow missing something. Nobody was that blunt. He started to look at the xrays of his head, when the doctor nudged him away, quite fiercely.

"Can I see those?" Orrin asked, nudging back.

"No. Medical procedure." The doctor responded, nudging back, blocking the view.

"It's my body. Lemme see." This started a tussle about five minutes long. Of course, Orrin wore down the doctor enough that he consented to show them.

"You have a concussion, but your crash was so violent that it matched that of an ejection. You impacted at over 15 gees. Your entire body has shrunk by an inch. I have to file this now." The doctor stated, hurrying towards the door. Orrin intercepted him, making sure that he would get his answers.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"It means, very plainly, you shouldn't even be allowed to fly. If you were to eject or crash hard enough one more time, you will die. Your bones have the mark of stress fractures on them. They will split next time."

"As long as I don't eject or crash, I can fly normally though right?"

"Uh... I guess so. But the hazards! You are part of the Rebellion! Even recons run into trouble sometimes."

"Yes, but most starbattles don't end with crashes either. Most are blown from the sky, are they not? I'm going to be Martialed anyways, and most likely booted out. Why waste the time to put it in."

"Because I don't like your luck. And I'm in for the welfare and health of anyone who comes to this office."

"Well, if I'm kicked out, I can fly as much as I want. And If you submit that, I can garuntee that I'll be kicked out."

Later, Icharus sat in his cell, listening to the music and watching the clock as the countdown to his martialling would begin, wondering what the doctor would do.

"Is that what you're calling that guy? Icharus? he should be Psycho not me. Ah, he probably went into the medwing a little bit after I did. Come on Icy."

As the three walked down the hall, a sudden thought popped up in Kefka's head.

How the hell did the Colonel know about the crash.. Only then did Kefka remember seeing a T-32 hopper, marked in black, soaring past them as he sat in Jarik's skyhopper.

Suddenly, Icy let out a long whistle, and Kefka didn't even bother looking at the translation running across the comm on his wrist.

Two seconds later, he saw three pilots, from Ruby Squadron, he presumed, cornering a Mon Calimari.

"Those sons of the same.." He thought to himself, right before he saw a sudden fist come at him, hitting him in the nose.

s**t, i just got outta the med wing too.

He looked up, and saw a Ruby pilot with a bloody face infront of him, and a Mon Calimari behind him, and Jarik and Icy to his left, horrified.

I dont even remember jumping over here....

((Um, what just happened? You got in a fight with some Ruby guys who had me cornered (and how did I get cornered - is that even me?), and, um, you suddenly switched places or bodies or something with one of them?))

((It might as well be me - how many Mon Cals are going to volunteer for duty on Tatooine? Besides which, there aren't many in the Rebellion at all at this point.))

Logar decided that, based on its record of first impressions, he didn't really like Ruby Squadron. He hadn't met any of its members personally in the few days he'd been at this base, but he'd heard that they had made a habit of talking down to the new Emerald recruits.

Now he found himself stopped on his way to his quarters by three of the Ruby boys, and they didn't look happy.

"Hey, I heard that punk hotshot who caused the skyhopper crash came in with you," the leader said.

News travels fast here, Logar thought. "Yeah, that's right," he replied, with an attempt at a friendly tone, despite his gravelly Mon Cal voice. "He was down and I gave him a ride back to base."

At that, the Rubys' scowls deepened. "So you think he's all that, eh? You think he doesn't deserve punishment?"

"I wouldn't know. Let the court martial decide that. I don't think he deserved to walk back to base under those broiling suns."

The Ruby to the leader's right reached out to shove Logar on the shoulder, but found his hand easily deflected by a large flipper-like forearm. This only served to make the pilots madder.

At this point two Emerald pilots Logar had seen before ((Jarik and Kefka)), accompanied by an R2 unit, turned a nearby corner and walked into the fight. One quickly found himself punched in the nose, and immediatly retaliated with a punch of his own. Logar backed off a bit as the two combatants circled, both with bloody faces.

((That ought to cover everything.))
