I'm going to pull a Mushroomhead here and have many, many guitars, they're perfect for getting that perfect blend between acoustic and heavy when you need it and it allows for variant melodies and harmonies to have the same bass and drum. Excuse that some of my people are dead, I think that perfection requires a little bit of never going to happen.

Guitar 2: Brad Nowell (Sublime)
Guitar 3: Kurt Kobain (Nirvana)
Guitar 4: Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom)
Harmony Guitar: Jimi Page (Led Zeppelin)
Bass: Roger Glover (Deep Purple)
Drums: Skinny (Mushroomhead)
Lead Vocals: Zakk Wylde. In addition to his grandeous guitar ability he's got some pipes on him that make him an excelent choice.

I'd say Kurt Cobain should be guitar 4, he wasn't too great of a guitarist, just more of a legend, but hey, what do I know? I put him for vocals...xP

my revised 'perfect band'
Vocals: ZP Theart (Dragon Force), Liv Kristine Espen�s Krull (Leaves' Eyes), and Adam "Nergal" Darski (Behemoth)
Lead Guitar: Herman Li (Dragonforce)
Other Lead Guitar: Jesper Stromblad (In Flames)
Bass: Peter Iwers (In Flames)
Drums: Zbigniew Robert "Inferno" Prominski (Behemoth)
this band would be gothic/power/death metal, singing about being evil and killing christians, and slaying dragons, and appreciating the beauty of the Norwegian landscape.
the vocal trio would be beautiful, with the combination of some of my favorite power, gothic, and death metal singers (reminding me of Elvenking - "Seasonspeech" with the variety of vocals). with Herman and Jesper as guitarists, the riffs are sure to be fast, technical, and beautiful, and the solos (or duo's) would be of godly proportions. i just threw peter in as bassist, because i don't notice bass riffs much, and he's pretty good. Inferno on drums would guarantee beautiful work, with great blast beats, as well as technical and sometimes very orchestral feeling drumming.
