My story of how I found loli is pretty boring. I was just looking through the magazines in Little Tokyo and I found the first Gothic & Lolita Bible. I'm not really sure how long I have been into Gothic Lolita but I do remember waiting for issue 2 and 3 coming out. When I first flipped through it I intantly became sucked into it. It was like a calling from above ^.^; Since I had no friends I guess Gothic Lolita filled that void <3

I found Gothic Lolita when I was reading a manga called Dragon Knights. A lot of the female characters wore gothic lolita-esque clothing. At the same time, a friend of mine was introducing me to Kana. I did some research on the internet and fell in love with the fashion ever since. I've been liking goth loli since 9th grade.

For some odd reason I was SURE I posted here, though it seems I didn't... ohhh the mystery O^O ...
Oh well~ I just googled around for it, nowdays where the "Anime" word is familiar most-wheres it isn't so bizzare to walk into stuff such as japanese fashion...
Actually, at first I didn't get that "Lolita" was japanese to begin with. I mistaked it for a side-affect of playing too much American Mcagee Alice, really >~>
Now that I re-think of it I'm not QUITE sure how I crossed the path of the Lolita. But I definantly[wth?] don't regret it for a mere second :3

I'm half Japanese, and so I've grown up around manga and anime. I'd seen many characters wearing lolita-esque costumes, but I'd never imagined that people actually wore clothes like that.
However, on a trip to Japan about a year ago, I met up with an old friend, who offered to take me around the Shinjuku area.
I happened to see some EGL and amaloli girls, and asked about it. She enlightened me as far as to tell me the name of the style, and after a little research on the internet, I've been in love with it since!

Wow. My story's not that much like everyone else's. D:
I've yet to see a Lolita in real life, btw.
I don't know how old I was... maybe 8 or 9... but anyway-- Does anyone know the American Girl doll, Samantha? Yeah. Because of that doll, I thought the Victorian era was the coolest thing to ever happen. Ever. (well, that and gothic architecture, as well as some medival stuff.)
For a couple of years I was that one ten year old that was all "woo wearing black" and stuff.. because.. well... yeah.
Sixth grade I had just made a friend in middle school (who is now my father biggrin ) who was very into J rock and things of that nature. Naturally I was introduced to Malice Mizer, Gackt, and the like..
Then a couple of years ago, somewhere on this vast internet, I saw a few skirts and blouses and whatnot, and loved them. Then a while later I stumbled upon a forum made by NF, and behold, my love for all things Victorian and black, sometimes with hints of the Medival, all came together.
Hurray biggrin

mychasi always used to like Re...reni...can't spell! gonk mychasi liked Victorian Style stuff. But We never thought of wearing it on a daily [or not so daily] basis Until either We bought our first Lolita magazine, or until We saw Kamikaze Girls [think it was the magazine]. That would've been...April...May...June...? Maybe even as early as December.

I hope I didn't already reply to this thread, haha.
Anyway.
I grew up with my grandparents in a very Victorian-esq setting with old-fashioned rules. When I was seven my grandma gave me Malice Mizer's Bel Air single for my birthday. I don't have any idea WHY she got it for me, but she did, and I liked the music and the pretty pictures.
Later on as I got more and more attatched to Japanese music I started getting into things other than just the music, I got into cosplay and the beginnings of Lolita.
So, yeah. I pretty much grew up with it. I still have my first parasol and pair of tea gloves from when I was little. I love them.

I saw Mana and I thought he was a girl, immediately I fell in love with his clothes so I looked on the internet for it and I stumbled upon a Lolita site and I looved it!
Since then I've been trying to get more lolita outfits, but here's difficult!
Do you think that if I pay someone to make me lolita dresses that would be wrong for a lolita?

I still don't know if I am "in" it, but I love it nonetheless, or at least what I think I know about the attitude.
