Gavin sat against a wall, clutching his chest, his eyes wide open. He was still shaking some. That'd been quite some series of explosions. For a few moments after it ended, he held his breath, waiting for anything else to happen. Finally, when it seemed all was clear, he took a slow, deep breath, and peered around in the grey mist silently.
Opening their eyes for the first time since they'd gotten through the hole, Aleya and Kilu didn't move any other part of their bodies as they stayed clinging to eachother. They didn't even breath, either, until everything seemed safe enough. Eventually they let eachother go so bloodfloow could resume in their arms.
Aleya hesitantly stood up, but jumped and fell back into Kilu's lap when some damaged panels in the wall sparked nearby. She blushed and grinned faintly, splaying her ears some. "Oops, sorry..." she murmered quietly.
Kilu just laughed faintly and hugger her gently, then let her up. "Don't worry, I didn't mind one bit."
Out in the remains of the tower's interior, almost none of the regular lights were working, and the few that did still sort-of work flickered and threatened to go out at any moment. Instead, the place was now lit up by still-molten metal slabs that were still cooling, dripping green and blue fluids from broken tubes and pipes, and the tiny beads of the blue substance from the megadroid. It gave the place a dark, eerie feel to it.
The tower had held up on the outer ring, though, true to Bion engineering. True, the entire shaft was destroyed, as well as the inner wall of most floors, even several rooms on those floors... but the structural integrity of the tower itself remained intact. After all, it was designed to repel attacks from the outside if need be.
No droid or Bion guard had survived, except perhaps a few at the upper floors that'd managed to get back inside one of the exterior rooms. But they wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. The path wsa clear on the way down, albeit dark and dangerous climbing on jagged, twisted, torn, and in some places, still very hot metal. And some areas of exposed wiring sizzled with electricity, even making jacob's latters in some places.

Sevic took another look around the room, sighing quietly. Everyone was on edge, some were having trouble breathing... And the girl was leaning dangerously far through a hole in the wall. So Sevic moved swiftly, reached out with his 'human' arm, and grabbed the back of her shirt, pulling her back. "We don't want any casualties, now do we? That's the last thing we need is to survive the explosion, only to fall."
Finally he released her shirt and turned to look at the others. "I say we find a nice barbeque, then get the hell out of this place, hmm?" Here it was, everyone was on edge and jumpy... And he was making jokes, he couldn't bring himself to show true emotions... See, on the inside he was having a war with himself, the part that wanted to break down and give up, the scared human, and the life-experienced man...
"If any of you are having trouble seeing, I guess I can keep the ground scouted out for any dangers, but I won't be able to safely navigate the place... Or rather, what's left of it."

Eleri let out a small yelp once the half-mod yanked her away from the edge, so she grumbled a little from not having the time to make out whatever those glowing green things were.
Inside and out, the girl was only slightly shaken. Sure, they had only just escaped a probable death, but they had survived, no? Besides, there were worse things than death. So Eleri was perfectly fine, really, and quite certain they would make it through.
"Perhaps our Anthro friends might be better at navigation than anyone else?" Eleri preposed, tilting her head slightly to the side.

Still reeling from the explosion, Gavin stayed quiet. He didn't seem in any hurry to move just yet. Had he been thinking straight, he probably would have been, since the more time they wasted sitting still, the more time the repair drones had to make enough repairs to send more guards searching for them in case they'd survived. But presently he was having a hard time focussing after that blast. It was as if it had temporarily disorganized his mind somewhat.
The blast also had a delayed affect that was just beginning to occur- a faint EMP wave. It was disrupting or downright halting various minor circuitry throughout the tower, including some mods on modified humans, such as Sevic's arm. The group's weapons also sizzled with static energy and beeped with alerts of power failures.
Aleya was looking out into the destroyed shaftway as well when she heard Eleri's comment. She arched her brow at the other girl, slightly miffed. "What? Why do you say that?" she asked curiously. "Look, just because we're evolved from canines doesn't mean-"
Kilu smirked faintly, rolled his eyes skyward, then reached up and grabbed Aleya's muzzle lightly, quieting her. "Oh hush, lover," he said quietly, then glanced out into the shaftway briefly. "We'd be glad to try, though it looks awfully dangerous out there. And you two may have to help Ga-... Gavin?" He knelt over by the old man, who was staring into the distance with a blank look on his face. He wasn't quite dead, but seemed very... absent.

Sevic began to feel a kind of 'pain' through his chest, and his mechanical arm... His fingers twitched, the rail gun on his shoulder sparked a bit. Then his vision went fuzzy, flickering 'on and off.' A couple of times his eyes went completely black, only to return to the 'normal' color.
"Damn... Something is going on here, guys... I don't think any of you can feel it, but it's messing me up... Having a hard time seeing, and I can't seem to lift the gun off my shoulder." Thanks to the EMP wave, he was partially disabled, again.
"I think the-... Wait, there's anthro people here?... Yeah, I think they may have to lead us... At least until the damned mechanics stop screwing up..." If they stop...
If they don't stop, I think I'd rather die, than live disabled.

"Erm.. I didn't mean anything by it.. thanks, though," Eleri mumbled, linking her hands together behind her back nervously. She hadn't meant to offend.
Glancing over at Sevic curiously, she said, "I don't feel anything; whatever it is must be affecting.. mechanical parts only." Thankfully she was starting to choose her words carefully.
"We should try to keep moving anyway," Eleri mentioned before shifting her gaze to Gavin.
"Hey, you alright to walk, old man?" she asked, wondering whether he had injured himself or something.

Gavin twitched slightly and took a few stuttery, irregular breaths, but other than that he remained motionless and silent. His eyelids drooped down halfway, and it was as if someone had just put him into standby mode. One could almost imagine a faint static sound comming from him.
Aleya leaned over and carefully picked up his arm, then checked for his pulse. She frowned and looked back at the others. "He's barely got a heartbeat... it's like he's in a coma or something."
"Oh great, now we're going to be slowed down" Kilu murmered, then sighed. "Alright. Can you two carry him, since Aleya and I will be leading the way?"
Meanwhile, something was steadily climbing the treacherous shaft remains, totally masked in the darkness, going to see if there were survivors.

Sevic stared at Gavin, thinking, wondering, curious. His mechanics were being effected, so his vision was blurry... Suspicious, Gavin seemed to be having trouble too. "I can help him with my free arm... My 'gun hand' ain't of much use right now." He couldn't exactly hand the gun off to someone else, it was to large for that.
He moved forward, kneeling down next to him... His vision flickered, causing him to hesitate. A shot of pain through his chest, due to the mechanics that were there. He reached out with his good arm, wrapping it around Gavin's torso, from the back. "Up we go, old man." It wasn't said in a cruel way... But rather, it sounded like respect, oddly. With those words, Sevic stood up, pulling Gavin with him.
"Now... I can support his weight, but lil' girl there may have to help me move him about... I doubt he can walk on his own, and I'm half-useless right now. And my furry friend, don't worry about being slowed down.. If I have to I can ditch this here gun and run with the old man, if I have to..." The gun... He didn't want to give it up... But he would if he had to.

"Will do," Eleri voiced, doing her best to ignore being called "lil' girl". She moved to Sevic and Gavin, preparing to carry the old man's legs so that they wouldn't drag across the debris-littered ground.
With a huff she secured her hair behind her ears before turning to the group, asking, "We ready to head off?" She couldn't help but give the half-mod an odd look, wondering why in Hell's name was he bringing that gun with him. It seemed to be a hassle and would slow them down, more than anything else. Likely she would never understand that one.
Oh well; each to their own, I suppose.
Glancing around them, Eleri couldn't help but wonder if any other people --not bionic people-- had survived the blast. Surely, if they had survived in a small storage room that had a hole as an entrance others could too, but you never knew.

There were, in fact, other survivors, higher up in the tower. The blast had freed some of them, though they were scrambling to figure out what was going on, and totally oblivious to the group down below.
Kilu stared at Gavin some more, then sighed and turned around. He took the first step out into the trecherous, dark shaftway, some of his fur standing on end in some place. He yelped and nearly fell when a spark zapped his tail. But he gritted his teeth and continued down carefully, until he finally found a safe ledge. He reached up and took Aleya's hand, who followed him down. It was definately going to be very slow going, it seemed.
"This is just going to be so thrilling..." Aleya mumbled, then looked back up at the others. "Pass Gavin down to us while you two climb down."
The entity continued making its way up the dark shaft, its invisible eyes observing everything with fascination.

Sevic slowly began to follow, of course moving slowly so that Eleri could easily keep up. A grin crossed his lips when Kilu yelped, but he was careful to keep quiet. Once close enough he nodded slightly to Aleya.
"I got him." He was speaking to Eleri, moving forward with Gavin. Slowly he moved to the ledge, then turned, holding Gavin over it. Lowering himself to his knees, and at the same time, lowering Gavin down to the furre couple.
Given that they would bring him down, he stood and looked to Eleri. "Go ahead... I'll follow you down." One of two reasons for this... If they were attacked from the rear, at least he had a slightly increased chance of survival, more than her... Or so he thought. THat, and he would have to jump down with so much weight, odds are he would buckle under it and have to force himself up off the ground.

Kilu's yelp had caused Eleri to flinch, and she made a mental note to watch out for falling sparks, among other things. Slow going wasn't going to be a comforting thing. With each moment that would pass by Eleri would become more edgy and snappish, and she knew it. Things didn't turn out pleasantly when she was snippy to other people.
"Alright."
Once Gavin was passed down, it didn't take her even a moment's hesitation before she hopped to the ledge below after Sevic insisted she did. Eleri turned to look up at the last member of their party, offering a cautious smile and moving to the side to give him a clear landing space.
"Your turn."

Time passed slowly as the group made its way down the shaftway. The way was often treacherous and difficult to navigate around the numerous obstacles. At times it was hard to find a stable foothold to climb down. But eventually they made it down to the bottom ten floors. And the EMP wave had faded, so electronic devices were flickering back to life. Gavin shifted and twitched a bit, but didn't awake yet.
The fur on the back of Aleya's neck stood on end slightly. She felt like she was being watched, but every time she looked up, expecting to see a drone or Bion guard, or at least a security camera, she didn't see anything. She finally just chalked it up to nerves and stress.
But there was, in fact, something hiding in the shadows and watching them. If Sevic's eyes were working correctly in the right mode, he might detect a very faint ammount of ultraviolet light where the entity's eyes would be, but it'd most likely appear just like another of a fair number of energy pockets in the damaged shaft.
They were now on the seventh floor, and approaching the entrance to the Bion city. At the base of the tower there was a huge hole where the megadroid had come from, before it was destroyed. It went down another full tower-length, into a dark abyss under the Bion city. Just below the tower's main floor, its walls curved away into a large opening that turned out to be a part of the metallic roadway. It was blocked off and there were scattered parts of repair droids everywhere. There were other droids on the edges of the derbis field, putting out fires and trying to cool some areas of melted materials that glowed like lava.

When Sevic jumped down the ledge, indeed he did buckle under the weight, but he could stand it. Once he stood up and regained himself he followed the group. His eyes were still a flickering vision, so occasionlly he would stumble, other time he would barely touch the back of someone, to make sure they were still there.
Occasionally the triangles of his eyes would shift the color, and a few times he thought he saw inhuman eyes watching them... "Just energy..." He mumbled, before his eyes shifted back to the normal color.
The malfunctions had slowly began to fade away, and once again he was regaining the power strength to his arm, the gun was less of a burden. His eyes rarely flickered now, but the wave was still there.
"What's the plan, crew? Want to slaughter the droids around here-.." He could see their movement. "Or should we just keep going, try to get out of here without any commotion?" It seemed his craziness had calmed down, for now at least.

It is safe to say that, during the long descent, Eleri had lost her footing quite a few times. Thankfully, nothing more than a few bruises and scrapes were obtained, though it quickly became obvious that the girl wasn't exactly very nimble on her feet.
Being to busy with brushing herself off every few moments, she never noticed the feeling of watchful eyes in the back of her mind.
"I vote for trying to get past 'em," the girl opted as they discontinued their climb down, staring with a frown at the repair droids. "If they decide to bother us, then we destroy them." A simple solution, she thought.
