Hi I'm Corinne, you can call me that if you like, but most people just call me Cori. I'm 19, I live in Arizona, and am attending Northern Arizona University, earning a degree in Elementary Education. I play the trumpet, and a little piano, and am trying to learn guitar. I am also a bit obsessed with birds. I love seeing them, and trying to figure out which species they are. Often times I think God sends one my way when I am having a bad day, just to cheer me up ^_^

Christy, I like fantasy too just so you know. I think if its just treated as an interesting story, then there is nothing wrong with being a Christian and reading it. 3nodding

Hello all. I just joined up today. You can call me Seak. I've been a Christian all my life, though like some of you, took it for granted. It wasn't until I got married and had my first baby 5 years ago that I got serious about my spiritual walk.

Looking foreward to discussing stuff and getting to know you all.

Take care.

Seak

[An arm's breadth, swirling blue vortex appears in the middle of the room a few feet from the floor and proceeds to spit up a blond woman who tries to grab onto the edges as she hurtles past upside down, catches them for a moment of desperation, and then loses her grip to the force and lands with an audible *plop* in a heap on the floor, looking rather worse for wear.]

[Blinks]
[Looks around]
[Stands up and dusts herself off looking considerably less shocked and mortified than one would think she should, considering the circumstances.]

Ah. Hello. [Spots the Guild nameplate] Let the fire fall Christian Guild. You can't begin to know what a reassuring thing it is to be here. One never knows where one is going to be assigned next in one's life, as G-d has plans for us that He sets in motion for our good and not for evil, though often they seem rather painful while they're happening.

Don't mind the vortex. Oh, nevermind, it's gone again. It's a good picture of my life in the L-rd. Trust Him. He might send you on hard assignments you have to, seemingly, do alone, but He never gives us anything to do we can't, and He goes with us whether we see him visually or not. You don't necessarily get used to it, more accustomed, and with each trial you learn to trust G-d more.

Granted, I'm a terrible whiner between myself and G-d. If you could see the chibi me in my head, you'd see me flailing and sweatdropping, and yelling, "Deliver me!" more than anything else. I'm living proof that G-d can, and does, use the weak and foolish to accomplish His will. And sometimes that out of control looking vortex is the door He draws you through to a place like this. smile

Thank you for accepting me into your Guild. I'm a Jewish believer who loves her King and is awaiting the Bridegroom's return! Erev Sukkot (the first night of Sukkot) was a few days ago, and it is my spiritual birthday/anniversary. This year marked 20 years in service to the King, or perhaps, 20 years of betrothal to the Bridegroom. I hope I can be of service to Him for many more years, or until He takes me home or comes to claim me, and I hope, that despite my many failings, shortcomings, mistakes, and struggles, that I've done even one or two things to please Him. heart

[Smiles and trots off to explore this new Guild world and to see what there is to see and say.]

Just wondering, why do you leave out the "o" in "L-rd" and "G-d"?

It's not necessary, Biblically speaking, but it's a Jewish tradition which stems out of respect for the holiness of G-d, something that's a good thing. smile Leaving out the one letter means you haven't written His namem down entirely, because His name is too holy even for paper. <-- A rather loose, but adequate, explanation.

Since each time I write it that way it reminds me both of G-d's awesome power and holiness and reminds me of my people, the Jews, it's a tradition I try to honor. 3nodding

3nodding Just to clarify, it does not bother me at all when I see it written God and Lord, as it is in my King James Bible and as most of my Christian friends write it. I just don't usually write it that way because I find it helpful to me, personally, to reflect each time I have to think about the "-".
