"I see," Chandra said, drawing back her hand.

Intriguing. Her body would not run without her, but it wasn't truly running right now either, hence her low body temperature and inability to properly sense pain. Being able to build one would perhaps present a solution to a problem she had been worried about - this body aging and falling apart more rapidly than would ideally be desired. Instead of asking for more information, however, she engaged in pleasantries. If they knew how to make another body like the one they currently inhabited, they would have already done so - to split up.

"A pleasure to meet you, Clare. I have never made it to judgement, but even if I had - I doubt I would have met angels. So, I gather you wish to escape your other half?"

Demare's smile never faded. It was warm, much different from Demian's, and that alone just seemed to make his body that much more alive. He really wanted to fix the grey toned flesh one of these days, but he had no idea how to do so with the body constantly stopping and going whenever he and the demon switched back and forth.

"The fact that I had gone to Judgement was a special case," he explained, in case she was curious. "I went there instead of 'Heaven' because of my sins. For what I had done, there wasn't even a possibility of atonement."

Idly, he lifted a hand to brush his fingers against the broken pendant.

"At this point, I almost want nothing more than that. Thanks to the opportunity this pendant had given me, I realized I was much better off being free of him than staying with him. When he first awakened, I didn't think it would be so bad... I mean, we had been good friends in our past lives, right?" His smile faded for a moment as he turned his eyes toward the ground. "However, I realized that... it was the past. He may not have changed all that much, but I have. I'm not the same Clare, nor will I ever be. Quite frankly... I don't really like Demian all that much anymore."

"A shame," Chandra said quietly, keeping her own past in mind. "But no one ever stays the same. Even the Dead change in subtle ways."

She shifted a little, switching her arms around.

"It is not my concern, nor am I a proficient judge of emotion, but it was not my impression that Demian wished to be free of you."

Demare was quiet for a moment, turning his head to look up at the ceiling. That information wasn't new to him. It actually bothered him a little bit, but he wouldn't allow that to deter his determination to free himself from the other.

"Demian's so selfish," he said a bit sadly, closing his eyes. "All he cares about is..."

He shook his head, deciding not to finish what he was going to say. That wasn't really anyone else's business, as it was hardly even his own. He understood very little of what the demon had told him that time, anyway. Like Clare could possibly be the only reason he's living right now... What were the chances of that actually being true?

"My mind's been made up, I'm afraid. I'm just as stubborn as he can be, so it's a hard battle. However, I WILL succeed... Demian won't be able to stop me forever, you know? Haven't you ever felt like that? Felt so determined and passionate about something you wanted to do..."
