I'm actually a little embaressed to say how I came upon the craft.
...One of my friends was being stupid, and tried to find something similar to "Harry Potter" (it's a great series of books, but purely for fun), and stumbled upon... actually I think it was Silver Ravenwolf's "Teen Witch", now that I think about it. But she was more into the wand-waving movie stuff. I thought there was a grain of truth somewhere in the bull of Harry Potter meets Silver Ravenwolf, so I did my own research. The craft is all about learning. I'm still learning. I decided that the religion had that ring of truth, that I'd been missing in all other religions I'd read about. And I'm not really into the spell casting thing. I think of Wicca as more a religion than a solution to my problems. I'll exhaust all my mundane ways of dealing with a problem to resorting to casting a spell.

I was very much a fluff when I got into Wicca and the occult (I've eventually made it to Paganism during that time) around grade eight. I met a girl (who I absolutely hate now. Backstabber. >O) who claimed to be Wiccan, and learned a little from her. Very noobish, fluffy stuff, though. She introduced me to the Sweep series and I got into that... I still haven't read them all, I can't find them.

I was always a wierd kid, I thik I was always a witch. As a little girl on my daily walks with mom I would tell her about all the fiaries in thier tree castles, I would talk to the wind and trees all the time and I rocked at heads up 7 up becuase somehow I knew who was behind me. Sometimes the dice in a game would listen to me. I was raised a mormon. My parents moved into my grandmothers house and she was a fundametalist mormon (super mormon!) and she brought me up in the church. I remember asking my grandmother "If we have a heavenly father, do we also have a heavenly mother?" and she just kind of shooed away from the question, and I just kinda tuck that away for later.
As I got older, I learned to hide all the wierd stuff and to recite church stuff. I wondered about wether humans got a second chance at life, and wether it was ok for me to believe in magic. In 5th grade I started studying stuff like wereolves and the salem witch trials. In one of the books I read, it had a little blurb about wicca, something to the effect of "And none of these people were witches. There are real witches today, who follow a religion called Wicca." That definitly sparked my interest. During my evening talk with my mom, I asked her if she had ever heard of it. She said she had and I asked her how. She said "I was wiccan." I was shocked at this, and asked her about wicca. She answered my questions about it, but didn't volunteer information. She told me that if I was still interested when I was 16, She would find me a teacher. She bought me a book on norse magic, and a book on celtic magic, which I read in secret. Around this time I was in the emotional heeby-jeebies, and has some promblems with my psychic ability. Both sides of my family have definite psychic aility, and I am very empathectic. At school, I would pick up the other students emotions and think they were mine. My mom tuaght me how to ground and shield, which really helped. My grandmothers health got worse and worse, and she died when I was in 7th grade. It still didn't feel right to be reading so much about wicca, becuase I knew it would upset her, and even though she was gone, I just couldn't for a couple of years.
Finally, A little over a year ago I started reading more. I secretly checked out books from the library. I found that wicca was everything I secretly believed, and I knew wicca was who I was and always would be. I told my mother, but my dad and sister didn't know for a while. They found out about my interest when my sister said at dinner one evening "I don't feel mormon anymore." This luached the family into a discusion about religion, and I started reading my books in public. Suprisingly, my dad got interested in wicca, and is studying it right now. My sister is also starting to read about it. My family is a very happy wiccan family, and our relationships have been better than ever. I know that wicca is part of who I am that I can't hide or ignore, as I tried to do for a long time.

Sorry this was so long, I tend to ramble on and on.

My friend, Kerry, got into it. At first I played along fluffy bunny style, hanging off her every word.

Then I began to do research. A lot of Wiccan bleiefs have been grafted into my own religion, based on the manipulation spiritual energy.

When I was a little kid, I didn't really know what Wicca was, but I was always pretending to be a witch ^_^ (My parents would get so mad at me). Then, when I grew up, my interest in it grew. I started doing research about two years ago, and I was always asking my one Wiccan friend for help. lol. Now though, she comes to me for help. O_o
I'm the only Wiccan in my family, everyone else is Christian. I'm just thankful I have a mom that supports me in what I do and believe. Although I have to hide who I am from everyone else. Which can be difficult. A lot of the time, I just wish there were others in my family like me, so that they could help. It would make things a lot easier for sure.
Anyway, that's about it for me and how I came to be Wiccan. Blessed Be everyone. ^_^

Well I was born into Wicca, but I can say that I have inspired a few people to look into and join the Wiccan religion. smile That is a nice feeling.

When I went away to college, I started researching a variety of religions, found the local occult store a few blocks from campus, and never looked back. Here I am nine years later, happier and more content with myself than I ever was as a Christian.

Hmm, well, let's see.
I've always been a lover of fantasy, I believed in elves and faeries and such. I sincerely thought that they were out there, and was also into the paranormal. Ghosts, spirits, that sort of stuff. Well, my family was Christian, and told me that I needed to stop this. I would go to hell if I didn't.

That never really affected me, and I would pretend to be a witch or faerie. Well, in fourth grade, I got into the Harry Potter series, and one day when I was on a website, I clicked on a section called "Real Magick" or something. It had a brief summary about Wicca, and I was intrigued. However, I went to a Christian school at the time, and they managed to affect my young mind somewhat. So I thought, "That's bad." And I clicked out of it, and forgot.

Well, I've never been strong in Christian faith, and I tried to believe in it...out of fear and respect for my family. I would actually control my thoughts when in a church, and scolded myself for not taking the pastor seriously. I got back into it briefly in 7th grade when my friend asked me to try some spells with her. Then I rejected it again--because I still went to the Christian school and was scared of hell.

Eighth grade came, and I decided that I would choose my own spiritual path. One night, as I was laying in bed, I heard Katie's (my friend) words echoing in my head, "It's called Wicca, this is white magic, it isn't bad." Then I thought of the time I stumbled across the webpage in fourth grade...and well, I got up, and typed in "Wicca" in the search engine. I bought a book about it by this author named Thea Sabin...and, well, here I am today.

That was almost a year ago. I knew I was different, and at one point, I thought I was a witch. (This was when I was little. Once again--it pissed my family off.)

I'm still in the broom closet now...

And for those of you still reading, I'm amazed!
xD

I was always really into religion, and so I was skimming through a book and saw "Wicca." It didn't explain it in the book, so i went home and i did research on it, trying to figure it out, and then.. after about two years.. well it was a series of very fortunate events, and one thing lead to another i guess. A bit hard to explain
