What his dark light revealed nowhere close to what Jude had expected, but now, his theory was confirmed. Things were about to get a whole heck of a lot worse. As big as the spider's before him stood, he'd heard that they couldn't hold a candle to the real beast...at least Jude had just been boosted by the pain of the boy.
In the shadow of the spider, his dark light did him no good. He would just have to take his chances.
Throwing away his glasses, his red eyes suddenly glowed brightly, as they were meant to do. Dropping to one knee, careful to avoid both the puddle and the spider by it, Jude pulled both guns, the clips, now full, but soon to be emptied.
Three shots were let off at the small spider, two in a parallel line to the head about two inches apart, and one about an handsbreadth lower.
Moving so that he was directly between the two humongous spiders, Jude held both arms out and up, shooting with deadly accuracy at the spider's heads, and eyes. Several shots left each gun, Jude's speed increased so that he had moved before the first trio would reach their target.
It was no use trying to talk with these creatures...there was no point and no entertainment gained. At least his fights with the Mistake were entertaining.

The smaller spider screeched and the bullets towards it riccheded off a small red sheild and it went back to drinking the fluids on the floor.
The spider moveing behind Jude slammed one of it's legs into one of the boxes forming the corridor and thew the box into the path of the bullets and right at Jude. The spider above did nothing as the the bullets periced into its underbelly. The spider screeched then tighten it's body casueing blood to spill out of the whole in it's body sending a rain of acidic blood spraying down on Jude like a shower.
The smaller spider had just finished drinking up the last of the mess and slowly started to back away as the shadows began to move around it and the area, swarming towards Jude like a wave of darkness.

Jude had expected the acid rain, it made a certain amount of sense of course. Instead of moving towards the othe spider, Jude headed straight for the bleeding spider and dodged under it, and under the spray of sizzling rain. Quickly, he discarded his jacket, to keep the acid from eating through to his skin. He would just get another one later...and he had no doubts that there would, in fact, be a later.
Jumping to the top of the bleeding spider's back, Jack swiftly moved the gun into place about a foot and a half from the spider's head..and pulled the triger.

THe spiders head exploded in a spay of blood and it's body sluched and fell to the ground. It's body continued to twitch and shudder as it hit the gound with a massive crash it's underbody smokeing as it landed in it's own blood from before.
The shadows that the smaller spider controlled swarmed around it and it vanished into the shadows, it's presence still around but it's location hidden. The other large spider screeched and sent two more boxes flying at Jude and jumped up into the air after them rideing in there wake as they rocketted towards the correction.

Because Jude had remained on top of the spider's body as it fell, he still moved back as the bullet he'd shot entered the spider's head, anticipating the splash of blood. He noticed that the little spider had disappeared, even his eyes couldn't see through the shadows that hid it. In his search for the small spider, the boxes thrown by the spider caught him off balance.
"Now" The low voice whispered through his head.
Jude threw up his bandaged arm to protect his face, the first box crashing into it and shattering.
The second, unfortunately was thrown at such an angle that Jude's arm was unable to stop it. It slammed into his opposite shoulder, throwing him back.
Tumbling to the ground, Jude brought up his gun and shot twice more at the spider flying at him before easily slipping out the empty cartridge of one gun, and smoothly slipping another in.

The spider seemed to stop in mid air all of it's legs moveing as it shifted it's body out of the way of the bullets. The spider seemed to be walking, or crawling, on thin air and looked down at the Correction. Rearing it's head back it send a massive glob of acidic spit right at Jude and then climbed upwards into the darkness dissipareing.

It was amazing, Jude noticed, how these creatures worked, seeing as how they were still insects of a sort.
Unable to move completely out of the way of the acidic spit, the blob caught Jude's bandaged arm, burning away the bandages.
Then the acid hissed and vanished into the air, dissipating in a cloud of smoke.
Jude looked down at his arm, that is, his new arm, and felt the new power coursing through him.
It was an amazing shade of translucent dark, quite the opposite of the color of his other arm. The shades in the arm seemed to move and swirl hypnotically.
It was quite the gift, Jude allowed, wondering what the side-effects of this new arm of his would be.
"Does there have to be negatice side effects?" The voice asked him.
"Of course," Jude hissed, " You never make anything perfect."
"So the loss of your true arm, and the pain you suffered wasn't enough?"Jude's master sounded angry.
"No, I don't think it is."
"Fine then, you shall know. The salve has to be re-applied again. Tonight. Otherwisae you lose the arm altogether."
"That's more like it. Lemme guess, more pain?" Jude asked sarcastically..wishing he hadn't a moment later when the pain in his gut surfaced.
"Sarcasm has no place in a servant's mouth when his speaks with his master. And yes, the slave will cause pain, but not as much as if you let the arm go."
Jude sighed and picked himself up off the ground, looking into the shadows.
Seeing nothing, he headed off in the direction he'd started to go in the first place, deeper into the warehouse.

After a few moments a soft red glow came from down the lane that Jude was walking. The smaller spider was standing there with it's two back legs on the ground and it's two front legs hanging suspended in the air. with a twitch of one of it's legs the entire corridor suddenly shimmerd with thousands of near invisible threads. With the twitch the spider sent one of the strands close enough to Jude to slice at his sleeve and arm leaveing a cut and a small trickle of blood. Watching the Correction the spider waited for his next move.

Ian sighed as he wiped away the last of the tears and looked up over the city from where he stood. It was getting late in the day and the sunset was coloring the sky with red and orange. He sniffed and rubbed his eyes again and looked down to where the few people below moved about trying there best to survive. Ian smiled, even in these times of chaos people still tried to live on...

((Jude has no coat anymore..the acid took care of that..'member? By the way..you owe me the stand-off for changing the time...^_^))Jude noted the little slash on his arm, but didn't move. His red eyes glowed fiercely, he saw the spider threads and wasn't about to risk his neck until he found the pattern.
The stand-off lasted for a while as Jude studied the pattern, hours even, until Jude noted an open spot about three feet in front of his left arm. Reaching for his gun, he used his arm to protect his fire-arm from the threads. The gun was in the safe zone, and Jude shot...several timesat both the spider's both and head.
As soon as the shots were fired, Jude "spirited" behind the spider, his body remaining rigid in place, holding the gun out. Jude's spirit form clawed at the spider's back, leaving icy chills where it would touch. The trick, although it wouldn't injure the spider, was supposed to distract the spider so that it's shield could not be raised in time.

The bullets ricched off the sheild it raised although it couldn't stop Jude's sprit claw from ripping the back away from it's body as it screeched and spray'd blood everywhere before slowly backing away and dropping the threads it was holding. Two of the threads that were next to Jude fell like silken strings but every other strand remained taugt and suddenly, like the sound of a steel cable warping, the wires suddenly contracted in on Jude as the large spider pulled them together on Jude's still form.
((did we ever really figure out what time it was exactly? I assumed that it was late in the day when jude went into the house like 3-4ish... or did we post something with a definate time frame to work from?))

((Well, it was dark when Jude entered the warehouse. Member the truck lights? No exact time really..but maybe the early morning hours right before the sun rises?))
Jude's spirit was unaffected by the blood, but it quickly re-entered Jude's body as the spider shrieked.
Good thing too, considering that the unaccounted for spider decided to show up then.
The threads were coming quickly towards Jude, and at that rate, they would slice him through, easily.
He quickly "jumped" backwards, behind the large spider.
Hoping that he had moved quickly enough to catch the spider while it was still busy with the threads, Jude 'spirited' up to the spider's back and partially materialized. Driving his claws towards the spiders back with a large load of toxins, Jude was moving between two worlds.
If caught..the effect could well be drastic..though it was uncertain. It had never really happened before.

((When did the spider ever show up behind Jude? I thought it was still hidden in the shadows up in the rafters and whatnot?))
The large spider smashed sideways as the sprit toxins slammed into it's side, yet the threads kept closeing it as the spider that Jude hit was already riddled with bullet holes and poision. It's body moveing only becouse of the hundreds of threads attached to its arms and legs.
Suddenly the webs stopped, every single one inches from Jude leaveing no room to move. They all shudderd slightly as if something was casueing Tremors along the strands. Then they all just flopped down to the floor coveing Jude in there sticky substance. They all looked like they had been cut or something and even the one's wrapped around the other large dead spider fell to the floor.
For several moments nothing happend until a massive schreech sounded from the darkness above and the third spider fell down to the floor with a massive crash. It's body still twitching as Flayers claws were imbbeded into it's backhead going right throught and out the eyes.
((sorry but the entire fight was dragging on with too much semantics and technicalitys confused ))

Jude grimaced as the sticky webs covered him. A moment later, his skin began reacting to the threads, the skin welting and reddening where the threads had fallen the heaviest.
For some reason though, Jude wasn't sure that the last screech he'd heard was the spider's death cry.
"Jumping" back, about ten feet from the fallen, dead spider, Jude remained in the ethereal world for a few minutes, freezing the webbing.
When he surfaced again, the webbing just fell off in shatters.
What he saw next was worse then unnerving. It was downright confusing. Something he'd never really seen before, though they usually worked to the same purpose.
Jude straightened and elongated the hand on his left, enhanced, arm until it resembled one of his spirit claws. His new arm certainly held benefits.
"It's supposed to be a baby mission."He growled out at his master.
He didn't recieve an answer.
