Mystical Kairi I'm a Freshmen this year and we don't have anyone like that in our grade. But, in two years, the Freshmen coming are really snobby. All the girls talk about is make-up, the guys brag about everything, and none of them can play for anything. Im a freshman to....We have a couple that REALLY need to grow up, but, there's not really anything I can do about that

Heitai I'm a freshmen this year, but last year certain 8th graders played with the high school band (mostly me and my friends), and I believe it was last year that we had the 6th-8th(middle school band) peeps come over, and they had this one saxophone player that I couldn't stand, he wouldn't do anything that we normally do in our show, and acted like he was above everyone else. I haven't seen him since, but I hope he doesn't show up. But it'll kinda be better for him to come next year, and maybe quit before I hit section leader year after next, so I don't have to deal with him sweatdrop That's my ranting for the day. Hope you can understand my horrid english! xd I'm a freshman right now, and I think since mb season is over, we had the largest # of freshman in our band...next seniors, sophmore, then juniors...but what else is that, some aren't very committing to mb as i though they would, and it sorta annoyed me....they, i mean, we, weren't really annoying...just maybe my friends sweatdrop blaugh stressed maybe...

Not in my class....since I was the freshman class that came in in the starting school year of 2005...but the year after me is supposedly going to be very bad. Most of the girls are chatty, and the guys are pretty mean. Out of the at least 30 kids *counting the ones that are not in band* that will be joining high school the next year, I know three that are really nice people, and only one is in band.

Sometimes. For example, in my school the Senior band (which I was in) and thw Junior band (which my brother was in) were merged because there were only about 12 members of the Junior band. And let my tell you, my brother has been the trombonist from Hell. He spends all rehearsal going "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYY" and laughing at me when I have to empty the water from my horn. The band conductor actually gave me permission to kill him in whatever way I saw fit twisted Mind you, a little first year who plays horn moved up as well, and she's so sweet. And even better, she plays second horn. So now Heather and I have some more help in making ourselves heard against the first horns. Which is a really good thing.

phantomofmusic This is mainly pertaining to seniors or section leaders, or anybody else who has the same opinion. Does anybody have any incoming freshman that are just plain evil. I know our band has a class like that coming up in two years and the kids in it are evil and very vindictive. The rest of that class is just as mean. The sixth graders are actually getting suspended from school for months at a time for actually beating up kids, teachers, and stealing from everybody. But the band kids are slightly mellower than that but I worry that the band will all together be gone in a few years because of the new kids not taking an interest and not having the maturity to be in band. just wondering if I am the only one with that problem. The Phantom of Music they're probably like that because they have upperclassmen yelling "freshmen" at them every single day. They probably hate hearing that causing them to act up!!!!!!!

I AM an incoming freshman, and I thought this thread was for us... but I agree with some of you: We do have idiots in our band. Morons, to be accurate. One trumpet blasts, the other percussionests are asses, and everyone talks way too much.

The freshman in our band know there place.
And that they'd be attacked if they got out of line.

Oh. I forgot to mention This last year was the first year we combined freshmen with the upperclassmen usual it was in symphonic band for freshmen, and wind ensemble for everyone else but we combined them because we were pretty much desperate for people and ended up with 40% freshman ._. It was a good experience for the freshman, they learn faster but not a particularly good one for the upperclassmen since they slowed us down

There's this really stupid, arrogant percussionist who thinks he's all that. And, he is fairly good, because that's only because he doesn't have a life. I mean, he'd be okay if he was less annoying and had a bit of humility. And the only freshman drummer coming next year I kind of hate. He's annoying AND bad and he'll be on bass with me. rolleyes Guess I'll have to STRAIGHTEN HIM UP. You know?

I don't know about our freshmen band members come August but I do know about this past year. We had the worst sax player ever. She couldn't even play her scales. She played down when we played up and then she played up when we played down. Worst part of it was that we could hear her at our concert. That was horrifying. stressed Most of our other freshmen were stuck up and thought they were better than us. Its frustrating. sweatdrop
