Wow, this is a good quest you got going here. ^^ I like the background and the character...it's nothing too extraordinary, and that's a nice change of pace. Everything seems fairly detailed, but not too overwhelming. Pretty impressive.
Plus, Border Collies= heart

BTW have you ever considered the other color variations of the Boder collie? *just curious* Definetly don't think the ordinary black and white kind was a bad choice but would be fun to know whatever you ever considered some other colour variant? 3nodding

Border Collies are my favourite breed of dogs. x3
Bob - I had considered them, since no matter what color they are, they're still border collies. x3
Apart from the more common black and white, there is the red and white border collies, and the rarely seen white coat ones. whee
But I'll leave that till later, since my preference is the black and white variety. <3

Character Name:
Kate Chong Wei Fang
Character Appearance (Human):
Kate is pure Chinese, and has black hair that looks slightly brown under the sun that reaches slighting below her shoulders. As her hair is somewhat untidy and 'frilly' most of the time, she likes to tie some of her hair up into a ponytail to look neater. She parts her bangs like a curtain, or middle parting, but most of it usually falls back over her slightly almond shaped black eyes again.
A pair of silver rounded-rectangular framed glasses is perched on her nose bridge, and she has several pimples on her forehead. She has rather fair skin, like most Chinese do, and somehow it does not get tanned easily. Together with her pale lips, Kate looks like she's ill and had raised the question, "You look so pale! Are you sick?" more than just once or twice.
She prefers to wear casual clothing, and hates any kind of make-up, manicure included. She will usually wear a pair of black girl cut T-shirt and a knee-length skirt, accompanied by a pair of matching sneakers. Her gray Billabong cloth sling bag hardly leaves her side. One major reason why she is dressed in that manner, is because she is slightly fat and rather short. The get up made her look thinner, and even a little taller.

Character Personality:
Kate has weird mood-swings, usually occurring at home. They don't happen often, occurring usually when she's really stressed. She can be crying about something random for one minute, before laughing it off a while later. She had been called 'psycho' by many of her friends in school, and her parents had attempted to send her to a psychologist several times. However, the psychologist wannabe 15-year old refused, stating that crying for no reason at all was rather normal.
She was a great listener, and to an extend, a great counselor to her friends. Her observation and deduction skills make up for her bad memory and laziness.
Shy around new people, Kate feels awkward around strangers and is not the type to attend huge parties. However, if she regards you as her friend, she will find it very easy to talk to and joke with you. Because of her character traits, many of her schoolmates thought of her as 'unfriendly' and even 'cold'. But the truth is that she just wanted to keep a low profile, and keep to her own group of good friends. She has a tendency to be bossy, especially when doing group work, but was afraid of being direct because she did not want to lose a friend.
She has a particularly soft spot for the elderly, and young children. If she saw one begging on the streets, she will be inclined to donate some money to them. Despite this, she is rather selfish, and unfeeling. Blood and gore won't scare her much, but her fear of flying insects will send her screaming, especially if they came in huge numbers.
Not to mention her fear of pain and helplessness.
Character Background:
She was born and raised on the sunny island city of Singapore, as the eldest child. When she was young, both her parents worked till evening and her doting grandparents brought her up. She loved her grandfather the most, and he would bring her cycling and strolling everyday when she was in preschool. However, he had a bad habit of smoking, which finally took a toll on his health. Her grandfather contracted lung disease, which led to a heart attack that killed him when Kate as just 6.
After the loss, she was upset and didn't know 'Why grandpa had to go'. When she entered Primary School, she was rather rebellious and had cheated during some of the Spelling Tests in school. During her first year, she received a slap on her face by her father and had locked herself in her room. She was 7 at that time. She cried and yelled that 'If grandpa was here, he would never had allowed father to do that'. She was caned at 8 for cheating by her father, and it drew blood on her butt. Her mother and aunt were furious and reprimand her father for during that. She had never been beaten since, and her father doted on her the most, even after her two younger brothers were born.
However, her childhood gave her the mindset that smoking is the worse thing anyone could ever do. It would not only kill the smoker, but hurt those around him or her as well. From the tender age of 9, she had read up on smoking, and wishes to stop people from smoking. To her, the worse sins man can commit were smoking, abusing drugs, pre-marital sex and to a very small extend, be an alcoholic. Also, because she was brought up with her grandmother's traditional Chinese beliefs, Kate tends to think that being homosexual or bisexual is wrong.
She contracted a lung infection just before her Secondary 2 Finals, and was sent to hospital. She had fever for a week, and coughed a lot during that time. Following that, she found that she had some trouble breathing properly. She then had a psychological block, and would always feel ill and uncomfortable after doing any form of physical exercise that involves running or other intensive exercise.
How does your Character get to/why was your character chosen for the Island?
Kate found an online quiz that promises a trip to Japan for an exchange program as the grand prize. Although she didn't believe in online quizzes as they were almost always hoaxes, she decided to do it for fun. To her surprise, she received a letter for a vacation to Japan, stating that she had won the grand prize for the online quiz, and that her school had been informed. Happily, she packed her bags to prepare for the big day.
Her family sent her off from the airport, with her wearing her school uniform and carrying a luggage bag in her hand. She kept her contacts in her sling bag, and departed with her glasses. The airplane landed suddenly in the middle of the night, and she was ushered down from the plane. She was told that a helicopter would be bringing her to another part of Japan where the school was located. However, she was bought to the island instead. Thinking that the school was on an offshore island of Japan, Kate did not suspect a thing, and it was too dark to see anyway.
Back in Singapore, her parents received a letter with no return address. It stated that the bus Kate was in lost control and dropped down the mountain it was on, and into the river below. The fast flowing currents had probably smashed the mini-bus into bits, and both driver and Kate had died in the accident. No body can be found, as the river led to a gigantic lake at the foot of the mountain. They were terribly sorry for the loss.
Kate was chosen, because there have been many cases of asthma and lung problems that led to breathing difficulties. However, there were little cases of 'emotional' or 'psychological' asthma. It didn't help that Kate had lung infection before, considered herself rather fat and hates exercise. Moreau wanted to test if her change into an animal can change both her physical weakness of running, and her 'emotional asthma'.

Describe your ideal 100% appearance:
Since it's really up to the artist, I'll accept it if the appearance is changed a little.
Her hair would have gotten longer and are pure white at the ends. She has to walk on her 'toes' now that her feet resemble that of a canine. Instead of a face, she has a fur-covered snout, and a maw instead of a mouth. Her snout and middle of her forehead will be covered in short white fur while the rest of her face is covered in short black fur. Semi-erect black Border Collie ears will grow above where her human ears used to be. Her hands will change into paws, but are slightly longer and can grasp things like a human hand can, although with some difficulty.
Her upper body will be covered with thick white fur while lower half is covered with black fur except for the feet which is covered in white fur. Her tail is long enough to reach her knees, and is covered in long black fur with a white tip. She will be a little hunched back. Generally very much like a Border Collie when it is in a 'standing up' position.
Why this animal/plant for your character?:
For personally reasons, it's because I had been fascinated with dogs for a very long time now. Ever since I was in Primary School, I had wanted a puppy for my birthday. However, time does not allow it, nor the limited space of an apartment. My favorite breed of dogs are the black and white border collies. I fell in love with them with reading a book on dogs, and they had a special place in my mind ever since.
Also, Kate's Chinese zodiac sign is the Sheep, and border collies had been used as sheepdogs for a very long time now. It is a rather ironic situation, in my opinion.
For in character reasons, as I had already stated above, is to see if Kate will break free of her 'emotional asthma'. This is because border collies are very active and fit dogs, spending a lot of time outdoors, running around and playing. There had been known cases of border collies dying because of being cooped up all day. However, Kate is just the opposite, spending her time lazing around at home and hating any form of physical exercise, not to mention her special problem.
What do you think really makes this concept? Why you?
I had realized that many of the current islanders had committed what Kate believed to be the 'major sins of man'. To have someone who is strongly against these 'sins' will be interesting to roleplay, as her reaction to the islanders who had done all of the above will be a long lecture, otherwise known as nagging. Her meeting homosexual and even bisexual people, for the first time would also be a fun experience.
As for Kate, she's a rather normal, average Chinese teenager living in Singapore. A typical 'good' girl - Good grades in school, does and finishes her homework, say her 'please' and 'thank you' to be polite, try to be nice and keep her normally bad mood swings in check - would make a change from the more colorful islanders. She's not exactly boring either, not when there are so many 'sinners' to lecture!
Lastly, this is a rather funny situation that she's in. When she was still studying and slogging her guts away in school, she had once thought that maybe being an animal would be better than being human. After all, animals are free to go wherever they like. They are free, and not to mention stress-free.
Be careful what you wish for, it might come true.
PROMPT: Prompt A You just washed ashore on the beach a strange island. Before you is a thick, tropical jungle, and in the distance you can barely make out the outline of a laboratory complex built into the side of a mountain. You have no idea if the lab is functional or not from the distance, however. Nearby, there is a small, vacant beach bar with several bottles of alcohol behind the counter. However, as you approach you notice a sickly-sweet smell. Lying on the sands is the body of wild boar, obviously mauled to death by a VERY large animal. How do you react? What do you think?
Wait! The cruise! Kate's eyes bolted open and she climbed painfully up, sitting on the sand of what appears to be a beach. The waves lapped at her toes, and she shivered when a sea breeze swept past her. What had happened to her? Where is she, and what is this place? Her mind was in a blank, and her body was aching too much for her to even try to remember what had happened on the lifeboat she was in. Besides, her lips were caked with blood and salt.
Groaning, she rubbed her thigh and stood up slowly. She could feel a bump on her head as she rubbed in gently, hoping that she didn't break anything. The moon outlined a complex at the side of a rather distant mountain, and she decided that it would be the best place to approach. She prayed for there to be people in the complex, for she wanted to go home. If there were people, they'll be sure to help. Taking one step at a time, Kate walked towards a beach bar at the side. She could probably take a seat there, to rest first...
Nearing the bar, a smell caught her nose. It was so familiar, and she licked her lips sub-consciously. It tasted salty, and of... That smell, it was of blood! It was then when she saw a wild boar on the sand, its body covered with blood and huge slashes. She gasped and looked around with alert eyes, frightened that whatever got the wild boar would come for her next. Those wounds on the wild boar suggested that it was the work of a really huge animal. Hopefully, it doesn't go for humans. She had survived a shipwreck only to be mauled to death by an animal?
Frowning, Kate took one last look around and limped over to one of the chairs in front of the bar. Stumping on it, she noticed several bottles of alcohol behind the counter, and an idea formed in her mind. Going over to the bottles, she emptied it all and placed them into a plastic bag she found at the side.
"Alcohol is good in these situations," She grumbled to herself, smirking a little to ease her own worries. Her stomach felt sick, as if something terrible was going to happen. "Or rather the bottles that held the alcohol. I'm doing those alcoholics a big favor by lengthening their lives! Yep, probably... And lengthening my own."
She held up the bottle, examining it in the silver moonlight. She turned it around and frowned slightly, letting out a slow sigh. This is probably going to hurt the creature more than it was going to hurt her... And her body was already hurting even more from carrying the plastic bag full of bottles.
