Our band wears skahos with shiny chickens on top (can't forget those). The pit doesn't wear anything (on their heads), and the sousaphones wear barrets (however you spell it).

The band wears these awful white plastic helmets with a black "skunk" made of feathers. Our tubas wear burrettes (im sorry I don't know the spelling) and our pit wears nothing ontop of their heads. I loathe those helmets so stare

yeah... so I have NO idea what the heck a shako is, so could ya'll tell me?
we had black hats with a puple triangle mirror and a gold triangle mirror together on the front... and purple plumes with gold in them.
...
and our tubas (not sousaphones, but tubas, cuz we're awesome like that! lol, no offense to all the sousaphones out there!) wore berets
...
it was interesting, though - not of our ahir could show and, since we have guys with long hair or curly hair or w/e, some of the guys had to wear nair pins (I remember a certain trumpet had to wear a hair net!) biggrin xd xp biggrin

We have a uniform, but no hats. Girls' hair has to be up in a ponytail though. Or at least back in a headband.

we wear maroon and white hats (shakos?!?) with what we call "chickens"!!!
we just call the plumes chickens....don't ask why.

We wear black shakos with crow feather plumes on top. We have mirrors on the front of ours. Good for fixing the girls' sock buns.
