Better Than You. was stunned and made sure his facial read that way as Reich suddenly regained life, despite looking like it was finally all over. He remained locked in BTY.'s finish but with his right hand he was able to grab hold of the face of the Canadian with an Iron Claw! Erynys was no Von Erich, but tonight he was doing his best impression as the move was partially locked in from the weird angle, but Better Than You.'s screams did not break the hold -- no instead out of instinct and fear BTY. locked in the move with all of his strength, now literally trying to choke Reich to death as the pressure around his face grew and grew. Where was he finding this?! What WAS Erynys Reich made out of!? He had wrestled two matches tonight, he had been kicked in the balls, he had his own finisher made to look weak, and had been locked in the most devastating submission in the company TWICE...but was still able to fight?! Say what you will about what should and shouldn't happen in a wrestling ring, question how logically Erynys was able to tap into such fuel to keep going, ponder ANYTHING YOU WANT -- but what you can't ponder is how this car-crash of a match was reaching it's climax in a way that finally pulled in the crowd.

The fear was palpable. He could smell it pouring off his opponent in waves. It was clear he was in BTY's head. No matter what the brash rookie had, he managed to find a way to counter it, but even he knew he had his limits. He had to think and think fast or face the risk of getting choked out.
While the claw was effective, it wasn't causing as much damage as he hoped. He decided to go for broke and use some of the fingers on the hand applying the claw and do his best to bury them into the eyes of his opponent.
What would BTY do? Continue to clamp on the hold and risk blindness or would he be forced to break?

Better Than You. was winning this match even if it cost him an eye.
He howled in horror as his eyes were gouged, the ref screaming at Reich that he would be disqualified if he did not stop right this moment trying to blind BTY. The lock only got tighter, to the point where it made no sense that Erynys was still at all conscious. The pain was immeasurable but applying pressure to the neck of his opponent was enough to get Better Than You. to a place where he would be willing to risk something important. Why would you do as much as he did in this match and not risk it all?! The ref started to count to five, this match potentially ending one way or another in the next few seconds!

Just as the ref was admonishing Reich for going for the eyes, he also was admonishing BTY for the chokehold. He began the count to five that would lead to the disqualification and Reich did the one thing he could and that was to release the hold and try to reach out and weakly grasp the rope as consciousness left him

Thank god BTY.'s finisher was completely legal and not a chokehold at all, despite the fact that the pressure at this point was indeed choking Reich up due to just how long he had held it in. As Reich's hand was removed from BTY.'s face, it revealed that Canadian's eye had quickly swollen shut with a small stream of blood escaping from between the eyelids. All Reich had to do was tap. In the moment BTY. couldn't remember whether or not he and Salem had actually beaten Power earlier in the night, but whether they had or not, a life of tag team success and probably championships was waiting for Reich -- he didn't need the King of the Canvas in the end, which is what gave Better Than You. the edge. He knew he needed it, he knew coming out of barely defeating DJ Killa Kyle at Wrestlemania that the continuation of his WWF:G career hinged upon a victory here, in the first round of this tournament. He didn't purposely sign up to work two matches in one night against a plethora of serious opponents like the German did, he didn't ask to be put up against a much bigger man either. He however did ask for a fight, and he'd gotten one here, and at the end of this match, it had suddenly got much more real and much scarier than possible.
However, the Koji Clutch that Better Than You. employed as a finisher was currently being buried horribly -- it should have ended this match already and instead, either by way of poor hindsight or due to the act that BTY. just wasn't locking it in as accurately as he thought, it was looking as weak as Erynys' Nackenschuss apparently was since that wasn't enough to set up into a submission either. BTY.'s eye ached and he could feel his own vision fading entirely, but that didn't stop him from pulling his own body to the side to torque up Reich and prevent his hand from being able to reach the bottom rope. This match needed to end here and the fact that it had to get this destructive for both men here at the end proved one of two things to be fact: either Better Than You. was not as good as he told the world he was, or Reich was ******** insane and was going to be very lucky to not be out a while after putting his body through two matches tonight with this hold crushing him in the moment.
What would happen now? Had Better Than You. finally worked his opponent into a loss within the community guidelines, or did this have to be dragged out more and put both workers in further danger?

He tried a few last week punches as a final attempt to free himself, but at this point, they were more than likely considered love taps. His vision blurred and strobbed as he tried one last time to push himself up and free himself, but the hold was in too tight.
At last his body betrayed him and he slumped down on the canvas unable to answer the referee's response and the ref had no choice but to call for the bell as Erynys had been rendered unconscious much to the shock of everyone.

Better Than You. would quickly release the hold and roll from Reich, his hands over his eye as he would yelp and scream out in pain. "Lalala" would play once more and the fans would give a mixed reaction, Jets fans and smarks cheering on Better Than You. while the general other fans who finally bought into the match were more so disappointed to see that Erynys Reich could no longer compete. The ref tried to help Better Than You. back to his feet to guide him out of the ring but the Canadian shoved the ref away and rolled under the ropes out of the ring. "The winner of this match, and advancing in the King of th-" Better Than You. would rip the microphone away from the ring announcer, keeping a hand over his eye as he was used his wrist to smear some of the blood on his cheek that was leaking from inside of his eyelids. He huffed and let out a few stinging screeches, raising the microphone to his mouth. "I know...AHHH...I know this LOSER can't hear me if he's out cold...but don't you EVER think I'm going to forget what you just did to my eye, you german piece of TRASH...I hope Salem realizes just the kind of dead weight you are coming out of this, because there'll be only...UGH MY GOD DAMN EYE...there will be only one son left six extra feet north of hell if I ever see you again." Better Than You., who coughed out a half-baked promo here, tossed the mic to the side and screamed out again at the top of his lungs from the pain in his eye. He would shove past refs and head back up the ramp to the back, moving on in the King of the Canvas tournament.

Consciousness slowly came back to him and he painfully began to rouse himself from the canvas. He went into a coughing fit and his hand came away tinged in red from suspected internal bleeding. He used the ropes to gingerly make it to his knees and then unsteadily to his feet, all the while, the music of his opponent continued to play like a taunt. He couldn't say what pissed him off more; the fact that BTY had managed to beat him or his own body betraying him at the worst possible time. Sufficed to say, this matter was far....far from over.
The refs crowded around him to offer assistance, but he shoved the one away and gave the others a withering stare which prompted them to vacate the ring.
He glared at the entranceway as he eventually found the strength to exit the ring and begin the slow walk up the ramp before disappearing behind the curtain.
