It was finally quiet. Tristen and Freth started to relax, as did their Pokemon. It wasn't much, but it frankly, it would mean worlds in the long run. Or at least for all involved hoped. Freth spent time looking at her SNAG, trying to find out all she could about the newfound Cufant that she managed to capture with Hitmonchan's help. Tristen sat close to Freth with Eevee in his lap, stroking the fur on his head, trying to contemplate a great deal of things. The Manetric hybrid then perked up, seeing another Pokemon in the distance. Tristen pulled out his own SNAG, trying to get a read on that Pokemon. A Yamper. The coloration was kind of different than what he thought one was...though it looked like what Zwei became after the battle with Ein. Tristen would stash the SNAG, leaving the Yamper to its own devices for the time being, not wanting to push his luck with how Eevee is right now.

As Tristen and Freth relaxed with their Pokemon, I finally hit paydirt. A berry tree. Perfect. I carried the Galarian Meowth and Torchic on over, but as I looked and started to search the branches...I realized my luck started to go south. There was hardly anything in here. Hell, barely enough for the Meowth, who needs it the worst. "...Freth and Tristen aren't going to be happy with this." I said. I sat the Galarian Meowth down, managed to parse a Rawst and a couple of Oran berries out of the tree and started to admister whatever aid I could at that point. Afterwards, I left the Meowth at the berry tree. As I was about to leave the Meowth to gain strength to move about on its own, let alone having it turn my face into a newfound scratching post with its metallic like claws, I took notice to something rather familiar. "A Sigilyph...thank you Galar region for reminding me...I'll work with Sigilyph when I get back home, thank you." I whispered, primarily to myself with all considered. Hopefully the Meowth will be alright even with that thing around...

I finally made it back to the other two after some time. "No Meowth...but no berries."

"I found some, but there really was only enough for that Meowth to potentially get back on its feet." I said. "Someone or something probably had its way with the tree I found and I wasn't going to try to comb this Wild Area trying to find another one and risk ending up in the same situation."

"I guess that's fair..." Freth said.

"Anything happen on this end?" I asked.

"Not much. Well...other than...this..." Freth said, pointing towards the Hitmonchan and Tristen's Eevee. Eevee curled up on Tristen's lap and was having a quick power nap. Hitmonchan was leaning up against Freth's shoulder with the same idea.

"...I honestly cannot blame them. It has been a hell of a morning." I said, getting on the other side of Tristen and sitting down myself and setting Torchic on my own lap. As I sat there, I took notice to a Woobat, another Pokemon I was familiar with fluttering about, kind of staring at it odd, wondering what it was doing out at this time of day, let alone out in the open. I wasn't going to bother finding out; I'd just leave it to its own devices at the moment. Our Pokemon did need a break...

As they continued to walk, a Pokemon Brian hadn't seen before appeared, and a quick look at his SNAG identified it as a Nickit, the pre-evolved form of Thievul, which he assumed was the kind of hybrid Robin was. While he didn't normally have a problem with Pokemon in general, this particular evolutionary line had drawn his ire, and he was quick to command Lu to attack. "Vacuum Wave!" he said, and Lu, just as irate as her trainer, immediately shot the wave of energy at the Nickit, which didn't even have a chance to respond before the energy knocked it off its paws. It managed to use Howl in preparation for an attack, but Lu wasn't having any of it. A Screech followed by a Low Kick finished it, and the Nickit was knocked out. "Well done, Lu," Brian said, patting the Riolu on her head before offering her another berry, which she promptly took and ate. Brian looked at the Nickit with a sad look on his face, regretting the force he and Lu had used, but it couldn't be helped. This was a competition, after all, so he had to knock out as many Pokemon as he could before the end of the day.

A bursting sound brought both Veronica's and Vanta's, the eevee, heads up. A timburr had twirled his weapon and shoved it into the ground to use Rock Throw at both of them. Veronica threw herself back towards the ground. Vanta managed to dodge the bigger rocks but still got hit. "Go on and use Iron Tail." Veronica told Vanta as she dusted off the debris from the attack. Vanta didn't hesitate in this moment and ran up to the timburr as his tail started to glow. The environment would pick up on the grey light. There was a short flash as the tail connected to the timburr's weapon. Although it tried to block the attack, Vanta's tail cut through the weapon and landed on the timburr. From the advantageous position, Vanta repeated the attack to push the timburr out of their way and knock him out. "Good. Let's try to keep our senses open now. There's surely more pokemon around here."

After spending a bit under the shade of the tree, I checked my SNAG, looking at the clock. "Alright, get up. Let's go."

"Already?" Tristen asked, his Eevee getting jarred awake.

"We nearly spent a half hour under this thing." I said. "And unfortunately the more time we slack off under here, more KOs others are getting that we're not." I said. "We're still in a competition after all and we don't exactly have all day. Not to mention, I would imagine Sub will be expecting us back here in the near future."

"If nothing else...I do need to get up and walk around. I was starting to get a bit uncomfortable here..." She looked at Hitmonchan, nudging the fighting type. "Hitmonchan. Get up, time to go."

The Hitmonchan made a long winded yawn. "Moooonchan." It spoke up, practically complaining.

"I know, I know." She said. "Come on, we got to go." The Hitmonchan managed to stand up and stretch out, feeling a bit drained though. That wasn't anywhere near a long enough nap. Freth finally got up herself and stretched out, then dusted herself off. "So where do we go."

"Well we were still about to head off that way to see what was down over there, if anything." I said.

"Alright, lets keep going on over that way." Tristen said.

We made our way off down the plains, continuing to follow the underside of the bridge. As we done so, we took notice to a Roggenrola, another vaguely familar Pokemon that we knew from Unova if nothing else. However, it wasn't a Pokemon we wanted to bother with for the time being.

Odd would find himself accosted not by anything truly hostile at first but by something merely curious. "Indeed?" The horned being questioned as it approached him, looking him over as it did.

"Are you one of the native Pokemon?" The Channeler queried, his own curiosity piqued as he was examined by the strange, horned entity.

"Indeed!" The Pokemon replied with a small bow. "Deed indeedee!"

"That's... unusual. I can understand you. You must be a Ghost or a Psychic-type, yes?" Odd questioned after the Indeedee's introduction.

"Indeed! Indeedee deed." Indeedee explained, holding up it's hand as a pulsing orb of psionic energy formed in it. It didn't seem to be an attack but, rather, a simple show of it's abilities.

"I see. So you're a local Psychic-type. Sadly, I'm not in the market for a Psychic at the moment so I'm afraid I'll be interviewing other applicants for my team." Odd remarked, channeling a bit of Lykas' personality for a moment as he did.

"Dee!" Indeedee grumbled, a pulse of psionic energy releasing from it's body and saturating the ground as it decided it should prove it's mettle in a battle.

"Fine. I guess this will be a good chance for Remix to get some real battle experience, then." Odd stated as he released the Alolan Marowak.

"Maro!" Remix exclaimed as he appeared from his ball, hurling his flaming bone with a muttered "Bonemarang." from Odd.

Indeedee countered with a swelling of energy from beneath it's feet, using a move Odd wasn't familiar with. The Expanding Force knocked Remix's bone back toward him and knocked the Pokemon off it's feet but otherwise didn't seem to have done too much. "Remix, use Shadow Bone!" Odd declared before he gripped the handle of his artifact and sent a surge of his own energy racing into the bone as well.

Remix nodded, jumping back to his feet and racing toward Indeedee with his bone club giving off an eerie black glow. As he approached and made to strike, he felt the wicked aura of Odd's energy entangled with his own. Lashing out in an attempt to strike Indeedee, he left the dark energy behind. Indeedee stepped back with a Disarming cry in it's Voice but almost immediately stepped forward again with Remix faltered. Sadly for the Psychic, Shadow Bone followed in Remix's original path and the solid, shadowy construct hit hard. Indeedee felt the energy Odd had put into the attack flow through it's body and after a moment, it felt the energy come together to form a mark on it's chest similar to the one on the Marowak's face.

After just a moment, Indeedee felt like it's body and spirit were being ripped apart, falling to one knee as it did. "Once more, Remix. Shadow Bone!" Odd called out. Remix nodded, recovering his focus and striking with a hard downward blow. When the dust cleared, Indeedee lay unconscious and the mark on it's chest was gone. "I had hoped to try that on a sturdier target and see how well it worked but at least we know now that Soul Schism does, in fact, affect living things as I had hoped it would." Odd told his partner before the pair began to look around once again.

Vanta's ears perked up and he dashed back to Veronica's feet. "Eev! Eev!" Vanta pointed at the pokemon in the darkness as he took a ready stance.
"What the ******** is that?" Veronica tilted her head, knowing that many new pokemon had been brought to these kinda of safari areas that she had never seen or heard of. It looked like an angry goat on two legs. Yet it was still cute somehow. It suddenly started to cry out with a Disarming Voice that was very unpleasant. "Ugh. Hopefully we can deal with this before that noise attracts more pokemon. Use bite!" Veronica guided the untrained eevee with the attack order. Vanta followed along, feeling much more comfortable battling if he had to be outside during these dark times. If only he had better night vision, he could identify these pokemons from afar before they had a chance to strike. The enemy Indeedee kept on singing, this time with what seemed to be an Encore. Strange choice, but who knows what wild pokemon think. Although as Vanta finished off the Indeedee with two more bites, all the tunes brought the attention of another pokemon after all...

The next Pokemon to appear was one that Elio was familiar with, as he'd seen it in his home region of Alola. "That's a Stufful," he said. "It's a Normal/Fighting-type." "This could work in our favor, then," Brian said, looking at Lu. While the Riolu was probably still full of energy, he knew they should take a rest, but that could wait until after they'd dealt with this. "Low Kick!" he said, and Lu ran forward, though before she could land the hit, the Stufful used a move that Brian recognized as Baby-Doll Eyes, and he cursed under his breath as Lu's attack was lowered right before the Low Kick hit. "Screech!" he ordered. If the Stufful was going to lower their attack, then better to lower its defense so they could end the battle quicker.

A moment later, the Stufful used Brutal Swing, and Lu wasn't quite able to get out of the way, crying out in pain from the move, even though it didn't do all that much damage due to the move's typing. "End it with Vacuum Wave!" was the command. Lu was quick to act, wanting to take this annoyance out before it could deal any more damage to her. While the move was super-effective, when the dust cleared, they were surprised to see the Stufful still standing, albeit barely. "Endure, huh?" Brian said, tapping his chin. "Clever, very clever." Lu, who was a bit miffed at seeing her target still standing, fired off a final Vacuum Wave, effectively knocking the Stufful out this time, then limped back to Brian. "Let's take a short break before we move on," Brian suggested, and Elio nodded. While Torracat hadn't done much battling, they could definitely use the rest, and a chance to eat something, since they hadn't eaten since before leaving the camp.

After some time, we finally started to reach the end of the field, noticing what was at the end of it. "The heck is that place?" I asked. We approached the building, taking notice to it. It was closed for the time being, perhaps because of the tournament, but we ended up finding a sign for it.

"Its a daycare." Tristen spoke up.

"A daycare all the way out here? At least every other daycare we've seen been close to a town. This is out in the middle of nowhere!" I said.

"I guess we know why there appeared all sorts of traffic, though. All those trainers, running around to and from this place with newfound Pokemon eggs." Freth said.

"Yeeaaah...I guess..." I said. "Not what I really expected out here though."

"Should we go back?" Tristen asked.

"Don't see why not." Freth said. "Nothing else seems to be here."

Tristen perked up just now, taking notice to something. It was that Pokemon again. "Blizz, Freth! Look!" The two of us turned to look at what Tristen was trying to bring attention to...but there was nothing.

"Uh...what?" I asked.

"Huh?" Tristen looked back, only for the thing he saw...was gone yet again. "AAA! Hey where'd you go!?" Tristen said, rushing out and starting to check a nearby grass patch. "Come on! Not again!" Tristen said.

"...what was it?"

"It was that kind of Pokemon again! Geez, how fast are those things!?" Tristen said.

"...um..." Freth started to stare at Tristen in confusion, perhaps moreso out of concern.

"I'm serious!" Tristen said. "It was just here! Why does it run like that!?"

"Vanta!" Veronica called out for the eevee to change his target as another Indeedee made its appearance with a Play Nice. Unfortunately it was too late to assist its fellow partner in a fight and had to take on Vanta alone. "They're going to keep coming if we don't end them now. You know what to do." Even though this Indeedee looked slightly different, it was clearly the same pokemon. Vanta made a clean jump and bit into the enemy, causing it to flinch. With the opportunity to take his time with his next move and repositioning, it didn't take more than two more turns to take the Indeedee down.
"Good..." Veronica sighed as she checked on Vanta to see if he had been hurt. Vanta took Veronica's attention as a very loving gesture and he was clearly full of joy for it. "These pokemon have been rather easy to beat though. Maybe we can find something more rare deeper into the area." Veronica decided to take the lead this time as Vanta walked next to her.

Trying to reach a different area, they walked up to the river. "Water pokemon around here. Maybe there will be something interesting?" Veronica crossed her arms to think and the moments passed in silence. Then a small critter started to stroll by in a sideways walk crawl. The appearance of the Krabby was truly underwhelming. "I was really... really hoping for something more exciting." Vanta seemed just as irritated as Veronica was. Although that may just say more about how eevees pick up on their trainer's actions and feelings. The Krabby clamped twice with its hands before looking at them. Vanta's tail started to glow and twitch. The nonexistent reflection on the water was then visible with the light from Vanta's tail. After his attack, the Krabby realized they were not friendly folk and shot out a water gun at Veronica, ignoring Vanta completely. "Whaaa?!" Veronica was genuinely surprised. Aside from being hurt by the impact of the gush of water, she was completely drenched in the middle of the cold night. Vanta took the opportunity to Bite the Krabby and then Quick Attack to finish it off. "Ok, we need to hurry on. Let's start going back cause I won't do well in this..." Veronica tried to squish out the water from her clothes. She had already started shivering and sneezing.

Well, this was going to prove a challenge. Ryan has James go after the Machop with a Water Pulse. The attack would connect, but unlike the others so far, the Machop was offering a bit more of a fight, slapping James with a Karate Chop and sending him spinning. Once James was stable, It would be a follow-up Water Pulse and that would be that.

Lillie tugs on Ryan's arm once more, but this time, Ryan nods. Lillie calls out her Clefairy and has it use Heal Pulse on James to restore him back to full health.

And with that, the pairing would move on.

Odd would find himself assailed not by another Indeedee but, rather, a Togedemaru. "Toge!"

"You look like someone tried to plug a Pikachu into a Magnemite and it failed horribly." He told the little metal hedgehog. It seemed to be a critical hit to the emotions as the tiny thunderball began to wail, large tears falling from it's eyes as it did.

"Jeez... I'm sorry? I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." Odd responded, genuinely apologetic for the moment. Togedemaru's watery eyes paused for a moment and it walked closer to him, as if it wanted to be pet. "I suppose even someone like you just wants to be loved and accepted, huh? I can understand that." The Channeler told the Roly-Poly Pokemon as he reached out to give it a soft pet atop it's head. Togedemaru nuzzled into Odd's paalm and, as rubbed. it's cheeks began to spark a bit.

Remix jumped to action at the sight and quickly knocked Odd's hand away as Togedemaru's Nuzzling turned into electrocuting, barely saving the human from being paralyzed by his careless show of empathy. The young man would grunt as he was knocked off balance but quickly recovered, just in time to witness an unexpected maneuver from Remix. With it's Fire-type, he hadn't expected the Alolan Marowak to use Ice Beam but from the center of it's spinning bone it came nonetheless, striking Togedemaru square in the belly.

"Follow up! Fire Blast!" Odd called to his partner, though he would find it stopped in it's tracks as a green shield of energy appeared between Togedemaru and Remix. The Shield would block out the flames as the flower of fire erupted from Remix's mouth, snuffing it out almost as fast as it was conjured, projecting needles outward from itself as it did.

"Spiky Shield... Great. We need to be careful not to hit it with physical attacks too much. " He warned Remix before the pair took a moment to put some space between them and the spike ball mouse. "I have an idea! Use Ice Beam again!" He'd direct, pointing at the mouse's tail. "Try to freeze it's tail in place."

Remix nodded and, through some creative acrobatics while dodging a Fell Stinger followed by a Pin Missile, he would find his moment to strike. Blasting the frigid beam of cold energy into the air, Remix would strike the mouse's tail as it was distracted. A solid block of ice would form rather quickly, causing the Steel-type to fall over due to the biologically odd placement of it's tail, leaving it open to another attack. "Now! Bonemarang!" The flaming bone in Remix's hands would be hurled toward Togedemaru with a violent spin to it. The rodent would throw up a Spiky Shield to defend itself but the angle of the projectile made it difficult to properly block. Instead, the bone only bounced off but it's angle meant it returned right back to the rodent on it's return pass.

"Toge toge!" The mouse exclaimed as it attempted to conjure another shield. Unfortunately for it, the energy popped and fizzled out, unable to be summoned again so soon after the last shield and the Bonemarang crashed directly into it, knocking it out cold in one hit.

Odd grumbled slightly as Remix fetched his weapon and the duo began to search around once more. "I hope they'll let us find some Roto-drones and recover more of our Pokemon, even if we can't use them during this..." He said to himself.

After a half hour rest, Brian and the others continued their trek, wanting to see what else Galar had to offer. It wasn't long before they came across a Pokemon Brian recognized immediately, a Klink. That one would be here was a bit odd, but he took it in stride, nodding at Lu, who took up a fighting stance. "Alright, let's see what it has, Lu," he said. They watched as the Klink glowed yellow for a moment, and right then, Brian knew they had to end it, recognizing the move Charge. "Screech, then Low Kick!" he called. He knew that if the Klink knew Charge, then it would likely know another Electric-type move that could potentially do quite a bit of damage to Lu. A sudden Screech from Lu had the Steel-type wobbling in the air as it tried vainly to block out the noise before letting out a Metal Sound of its own. Lu had no choice but to stop in her tracks, covering her ears as the shrill sound caused her pain. As soon as the sound stopped, she gave the Klink a glare and went into a Quick Attack, which while it wouldn't do all that much damage, was only the precursor for her Low Kick attack, which dealt massive damage to the Klink's steel body, thanks to the Screech, and knocked it out in the process. The Riolu landed on the ground, panting a bit after having dealt with the Metal Sound attack.
