Character:Raliegh Current Square: 1 to 6 Response: Raleigh was beginning to think he was lost. "Haven't I seen that tree before? No, don't be ridiculous." The only thing telling him that this was indeed a different place and that he wasn't just wandering in circles was the slight denseness of the trees around him. Though this could just be a panic attack setting in and the trees only appeared closer, he hoped that wasn't the case. He had to tuck his wings to fit through the trees in front of him, he hadn't had to do that before.
Stepping through the trees he was met by surprise at the sunny glade it had seemed that the forest was getting darker and creepier and then, this. "If I wasn't here for a mission I'd say this would be a pleasant campsite. Although..." He looked behind him at the forest he had just walked through, he couldn't place the creepy vibe. It was probably just from the loneliness.
As he looked around the glade for any signs of a clue he noticed a gryftoo perched in the branch of a nearby tree. Approaching it cautiously he noticed it swaying back and forth and his ears perked up. "Hey there little buddy, you alright?" He approached the tree sizing it up before using his large wings to hover up in front of the familiar. He reached out gently "I got you it's alright. I really have to keep looking for the professor, I can't stay here long. Why dont you come with me?"

Character:Max Current Square: 20 to 19 Response: Max felt like he was running out of time to get off this bridge safely he was trying not to breathe the smoke, but he also had no clean air unless this was an illusion and he was crazy only thinking he couldn't breathe, and depriving himself of air and going crazy because he was low on the air he wasn't breathing at the moment. He tried again to find a way off the bridge before he passed out from either the fire or panic. Max huffed in a breath of clean air as he finally found his way off the burning bridge, he didn't know if it was an illusion or not and he really didn't care. This trip was getting crazy, was that bridge booby-trapped?

Character:Amarith Current Square: 20 to a part of 20 not on fire Response: Amarith screamed, as one might expect a sensible person to do when suddenly surrounded by flames. Her first instinct was to fly, but she couldn't even attempt it with her wings still soaked, never mind everything else weighing her down. She tried to run for it instead, pulling her shirt up to cover her mouth and nose. Getting out of the smoke and flames safely, Amarith decided it was best to wait and stop for a bit to ensure she knew where she was going before proceeding. At least she was slightly drier than before and the water soaking her had protected her from catching ablaze. Thank goodness for small favors.

Character:Remiry Current Square: 10 to 9 Response: Nothing seemed out of place from what Remiry saw, except for the snapped twigs. But that could have meant anything. Whether someone else or an animal had already been through here. Either way though, she would continue on, this time moving west. So far this wasn't really turning into anything that she could really use to her advantage. It was just exploring a forest. So what?
She had thought about turning around, but she had come so far already, might as well just explore the whole place, right?

Character Name: Amity Current Square: 18 (escape attempt: 1) RP Response:
Amity carried on through the brush, watching the bird glide from branch to branch until they gave way into a grove of ferns. She looked around, peering up towards the edge of the trees as she moved further into the grove. The bird remained on the branch it had settled in, watching Amity wade further into the grove, until there was suddenly a sharp, mechanical hiss.
"Oh shi--" Amity yelled as she was suddenly pinned to the ground, air knocked out of her lungs. "Really?!" She tried to push the net off of her, kicking her legs to try and free herself to no avail. The familiar swooped above her, settling on a branch on the other side of the grove.
"Yeah, thanks!" She snorted at the bird, huffing a little. "I'll be right there."

Character:Raliegh Current Square: Esacpe attempt 1 Response: Accompanied by his new feathered friend Jimbo, yes he named the Gryftoo that had joined him on his adventure "Jimbo" He ventured on into the forest. "It would be nice to stay here in the glade huh?" He pushed past some branches and once again surrounded by pines that looked all the same. "You'll help me not get lost Jimbo, I'm sure you know your way around here. Right?" He was so preoccupied talking to him that he almost didn't feel the tug.
When he did though his heart sank "On no not thorns again!" He wailed looking down and was really surprised. That there were no thorns wrapped around his ankle instead what he saw was way worse. The thin wire could only mean one thing, a trap. He knew that not a forest sucks and sometimes you get snagged. It was an actual planted I'm going to trap you trap. Who planted this? Wasn't this a remote area? This shouldn't be here.

Character Name: Amity Current Square: 18 (escape attempt: 2) RP Response:
Amity struggled further with the net, trying to at least pry up an edge to make an opening for herself to crawl out of, but it was no use. The more she struggled, the more tangled she felt herself becoming. She let out a frustrated growl, kicking and pulling at the net as a desperate instinct to not be stuck under this thing kicked in, before the moment passed.
She gave up the struggle for a moment, hoping to catch her breath, and eyed the net as best she could, reaching up and tugging at a part of it with her fingers. Whoever had made this definitely knew what they were doing... But she doubted it was the team they were hunting for.

Character Name: Amity Current Square: 18 (escape attempt: 3) RP Response:
The more Amity struggled to free herself, the more tangled the girl became. She also found herself growing more exhausted, and frustrated, and desperate with every passing minute. Still, the net didn't give, and she couldn't manage to free herself even a little in order to pull herself free from the net. Frustration gave way to exhaustion after a short while, and the Baphomet fumed in frustration at not having something to free herself.
"Okay okay okay." She muttered, trying to settle under the net and catch her breath. "Take a break, and try again. You're gonna get out of this. What's the worst that can happen? Someone's bound to come this way and find you. Just relax." Amity dropped her head against the ground, focusing on calming down so she could try to think of a better solution than tangling herself up more.
It'd be fine.
The bird didn't think so, but it stayed on the branch anyway, watching the trapped Baphomet.

Character:Raliegh Current Square: Esacpe attempt 2: Sucess & Moving to 11 Response: Okay okay, "Jimbo what do we do here?" He looked over at the Gryftoo staring blankly at him from his shoulder. 'Think fast, come one you cant get trapped here.' The Bird on his shoulder ruffled out his tail shaking out his feathers. Just like a lightbulb going off he stared at the bird. "JIMBO my fine feathered friend! You are a genius I could kiss you!" The bird blinked its big buggy eyes blankly staring at him. Raliegh unfurled the wings he had tightly pressed up against his back. The trees had gotten so narrow that he had folded them in. He used a couple of pumps with the muscles of his back to push him backward. Then he propelled upward, as much as the trees would let him (admittedly not much) but hopefully enough to avoid the wires. As he was on edge now he peeled his eyes for anything else that might signify a trap. "Let's get out of here my Jimbo"
Character:Oiche Current Square: 24 (escape 1) (escaped) (Not moving squares this update... sitting on a safe rock) Response: Somehow she had managed to get separated from troy and ended up in a swampy part of the forest. Just what was up with the terrain? Then again she shouldn’t be too surprised considering earlier in the day she had escaped from a bog. Wait was that really just today. She took a moment to take a deep breath and let out her frustration. It was helped greatly when her new found familiar jumped into her lap and nuzzled her knee in what she hoped was sympathy. Well it was a good time to work on her map again, lucky she had pretty good memory. She needed to find her next course of action, or was it she needed to figure out what direction to go. She couldn’t see anyone around her at the moment and being alone in a forest that was apparently trying its best to kill her didn’t seem like a good idea. She could see why people had never come back. Then again why wasn’t there any ghosts? It’s not like she had expected them to warn her but…
Of course as she was walking, the ground turned into another puddle and something scrapped across her leg. Her new companion started making all sorts of alarming sounds especially when Oiche started to sink down, wait where those blades, was this some spike trap that had been flooded. Luckily Oiche was able to use her wings and ability to float just long enough to make it to the other side.Okay now she needed to catch her breath. floating had taken a lot out of her. so she sat down on a nearby safe rock.
There was no other explanation. there had to be people here or a civilization. There was no way the previous team had that much time to make spike traps. There was no reason for them to make spike traps. Her mind drifted to the thought of monsters once again. Yeah she was seeing why people didn’t come back.

Character:Amarith Current Square: 20 to 25 Response: Boots emptied of water, Amarith figured that was the best she could do for the moment--it wouldn't do to change out in the open where another searcher could come across her whilst indecent--and she pushed on ahead. Though she felt quite frazzled, she couldn't simply give up now! No, she was committed and had to see it through even if things were proving to be surprisingly dangerous. It was still utterly baffling that the bridge had caught fire. Some kind of intentional trap? Just what was going on?!

Character:Troy Current Square: 19 (escape attempt 1) (escaped, moving to 24) Response: Troy couldn't help but laugh at Oiche's statement about refusing to scream despite that they may actually be in a horror movie. She seemed more like the defiant type than the helpless screamer. "Well, it's not unheard of for trees to fall if they are rotting or being weakened by termites....but I don't know if that was the case with that tree."
They walked a little further, the canopy much thicker than he anticipated it being. It was a little hard to see already when suddenly there was a yank and his perspective was utterly reversed. Rope traps?! He was so stunned for a moment that he didn't know Oiche had escaped until he heard her calling out to him. She mentioned 'knife' and a lightbulb turned on. "Thanks but I already have one!" He called back as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the utility knife, opening the large blade and bending up to grab the rope while he cut through it. It didn't take long before it broke and managed to land on his feet before stumbling back a bit. Harsh changes in perspective were making him dizzy. He heard a squeak and looked down to see a fennekit had come out of the brush curiously, now yipping at him as he escaped. "Whoa...easy there, little guy. You'd better get back to your den before you end up in one of those." Almost as if to prove him wrong, the fennekit sniffed the ground and hopped over where the traps had been set....and bounded right up to his feet, wagging its fluffy tail. Troy raised an eyebrow before bending down curiously and reaching out a hand. "You're friendly....are you saying you want to come with me?" It squeaked enthusiastically and stood on its hind legs, reaching up with its forepaws before Troy pet it behind the ears. "Stay alert, little guy. Something tells me we aren't alone in this place..."['b]

Character:Max Current Square: 19 to 24 Response: The forest canopy here was so thick that Max couldn't see anything while he was wearing his sunglasses, so he moved them to the top of his head and then bam he was caught swinging upside down from a rope something was weird going on in this forest. It was like everywhere he went there were traps. He reached up to untie his legs when he saw a fennekit coming out of the brush to check out his silly situation. If this was Dr. Horn's idea of a joke Max was going to pound him into the forest floor. He untied his legs and got down to pet the cute familiar. "Hey there, do you know what happened to Dr. Horn?" He asked the familiar in a gentle tone not that he was expecting an answer. He wondered what would happen in the next area of the forest he planned to go to, he still had his sunglasses on the top of his head luckily since they had been caught in his hair instead of being on his face, which he was pretty confident they would have fallen to the forest floor if that had happened. Max chose a direction and headed off to see what the heck was going to happen next in this madhouse of a forest. He looked down at the fennekit and smiled "So sticking around with me for a while huh?" He was rather glad since he hadn't made any friends on this trip yet it was nice to have company.
