Captain Seraphinite chooses to use Haumea and Alkaid's combined Energy Signature to guide their pathway back to the origin point.{ 11 pts } "If you somehow filmed that, you and I are having a hell of a talk later," Seraphinite muttered to Jet once within the house. The place itself was a wreck, and the contents of the trunk? Didn't make anyone's day any better. He didn't even attempt to let himself consider what might have caused that stench.
The shriek had him cursing softly beneath his breath. It was inevitable for the youma to show up, though the sound made getting into the house didn't... likely help. s**t. It was back out the window they went. The General King he wasn't familiar with gave them a hand getting out, a simple, "Thanks," given in response as he then waited to head out. When Jet began to make introductions, Seraphinite frowned slightly--this really wasn't the time--but inclined his head briefly. "Sir." There'd be more time for conversation later when they weren't milling around in the Rift.
His swords were still in their holsters at his hips, and now he drew them fully as he expected the worst from the rolling mist. Though he followed Jet's lead--in following the General King on this one, anyways--he did take the order seriously and tried to do a quick headcount of the corrupts. The lieutenant who'd gone into the house with them was nearby, so Seraphinite eyed them (Atheneite) slightly. "Keeping up?" Things were slow and steady thus far, but if that shifted, well... He'd prefer to know who would or would not be able to handle that.
Quote: Seraphinite's open for interaction, ignore the grumbling

Corrupted Super Gadolinite chooses to use Haumea and Alkaid's combined Energy Signature to guide their pathway back to the origin point ( 11 pts )
He disliked the idea that he now reeked of...whatever it was that had been in the house. Gadolinite was not exactly a man who primped and preened, but he did like to look good - and that included smelling good. Whatever scent that now clung to him was offputting enough to make his usual lazy amusement dim a little as he glanced back at the window they had just crawled through.
"Damned if we do, damned if we don't," he muttered, and gave Seraphinite a little prod as the larger man clambered out - really, he was huge, and since Gadolinite was no shrinking violet himself, it just made him look even bigger. He grasped the hand of the General-King who had offered it, flashing a merry smile of gratitude, and hopped down with a grace that stemmed from years of breaking and entering places he shouldn't.
He'd had to piss off his father in more ways than one, after all.
Gadolinite gave the General-King a small nod as the introductions were made, eyes flickering first to Jet, then to Seraphinite and back again. Up close, Zinkenite was not actually that tall - in fact, he was a little slight, though not tiny - but considering his own general, Gadolinite had long since learned not to judge on either size or age.
"A pleasure," said Gadolinite, with only the slightest trace of sardonic amusement to his voice. To Jet he said, "I'll do my best."
And he would, though there were obviously people that wouldn't listen to him. Gadolinite was not going to bend over backwards to shepherd them all in one direction but he was going to do what he'd been asked to do and keep an eye on them all, because he knew it was important.
"I don't think any of this is going to end well," Gadolinite murmured to Seraphinite.

[Prompt 4 - Answers]
Choice 1 Anyone in the group that tries to find the road succeeds and manages to follow the path, if slowly, back to where Haumea and Alkaid are standing. Along the way they see shadowy figures slipping through mist but luckily, whatever it is, it stays at a distance. As they arrive back to Haumea and Alkaid, they realize immediately that some of their group members have gotten lost. +5 points
Choice 1 Anyone in the group that follows the combined energy signature gets lost. The further they walk into the mist, the more difficult it is to judge what is the aura of a pair of Corrupt senshi and what is the chaos mist or, well, something in it. Everything in their aura field seems to be moving and they get turned around multiple times. Suddenly, while fighting their way through the thickening fog, they are swarmed by groups of shadowy figures and knocked unconscious. [This group does not get to respond to prompt 5, skip a turn.]+3 points

[Prompt 5] As the soldiers that manage to find their way back to Haumea and Alkaid gather, they learn of the crude drawing that was found on the garden wall. However, due to the fact that they can’t be sure what it means and since part of the group is still missing, the pair refrain from sending a team to search the river.
It's obvious that the creatures milling around them have been heading vaguely in the direction of the playground, giving the group a wide berth now that they had rejoined their leaders. That seems to be the most logical conclusion of where their missing teammates have been taken. The Ascendant General ignites the focus ball of her magic and holds it with her as she and Haumea begin to lead the group carefully down the road. This lights up a small portion of the misty area around them and successfully banishes the straggling shadows that had been circling their congregation as well as giving her a ready weapon. They were safe for the moment.
Once on the playground, aided by the light of her orb, the group sees a very large, wooden playground course stretching across most of the area. Although no one is keen on splitting up again, it is necessary that they do so in order to search each section for survivors. Alkaid keeps the orb glowing to provide light for everyone, but each character must now choose where they will search:
The central tower The playground perimeter or The castle course.
[Choice 1]: Your character decides that the central tower is the most obvious place for hostages to be kept. It is the highest point of the playground as well as the most defensible area. Knowing that it might be a trap, or that they might have to meet these creatures head on, they decide to make a beeline for the centerpiece regardless.
The pathway to get there begins with an old bridge made of rope and wooden planks, though the rope has been crystallized solid. The bridge leads to a platform just below the tower, from which they will have to climb up an old wooden ladder to reach the top.
If your character decides to climb up and search the central tower, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to climb up and search The Central Tower for hostages.
[Choice 2]: It’s clear that whatever these shadowy creatures are, they have the advantage on their home turf. Not only are they much smaller and capable of maneuvering through the child-sized playground equipment, but they seem to be able to see better than anyone else can. Not willing to risk getting ambushed in a head-on attack, your character decides to circle the perimeter instead. At least this way, they can provide scouting information to the soldiers heading into the fray.
If your character decides to search the perimeter, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to search The Playground Perimeter for hostages.
[Choice 3]: Your character decides that although the castle entries are small, it has the most area, and would be a likely place to hide a group of hostages. It is immediately obvious that it is the most dangerous option, as visibility is low and the chance of ambush is quite high. Regardless, the search must go on. They can enter from any number of archway openings on several sides and, to cover the most ground the most efficiently, Haumea suggests that each person taking this route chooses a different entrance. Once inside, most characters will have to stoop to maneuver through the child-sized castle.
If your character decides to search the castle passages, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to search The Castle for hostages.

General FaustiteWhat came of their split justified Faustite's logic, yet left their small lot vulnerable to the Rift's clever wiles. They had, among their number, only a handful — Faustite could count each head easily as ey looked about behind Alkaid's lead. A large number of their colleagues were now lost in this vast, unruly cavern with no means of identifying their location, else they would have responded over communicators with it. What, then, was their dwindling group to do?
Alkaid and Haumea wanted a rescue — and rightfully so. Among their number was a General Sovereign, beyond the many that have proven themselves time and again in battle and tactic. Finding their number by fleeting ghosts and shadows of limb was the sole decision made.
Now they faced a bevy of choices within a defunct and long-rotted playground area — they could take the central tower, the castle course, or survey the surfeit of equipment from a distance. An ill unease coupled with eir dull hurt. What choices.
"There aren't many of us. We need to plan this carefully — and we need to coordinate." Faustite passed a look among the remaining crew, eyes bright with the seriousness of their situation.
What followed came in a smoky breath. "My suggestion: Valeria, you're small enough to take the castle entries; my pipes would get stuck trying to go through those holes. I'm light enough to try the central tower. Aue, you can take the perimeter and give us reconnaissance. And Arsenopyrite, you have seniority — go where you see fit." Ey looked among the remainder, eir firelight flickering over faces and chasing off the violet loom of the suffocating Rift.
"Be aware. Be preemptive."

General ArsenopyriteAlthough Arseno had been concerned about so many going off of the path, he was still surprised when there were so few that followed the road back to the corrupts. The signature was a trick then, like he had thought. But for everyone to just... disappear... something else was going on. Of course, they had to rescue them. Too many agents would be lost. They didn't need that count added to their numbers. It was good to see that others cared, at least a little, about their fellow agents. Faustite started a plan and Arseno agreed. Unfortunately he himself was probably too tall to search inside of the playground in the castle. He wouldn't be able to maneuver easily either. That left either the tower or the playground perimeter. "I agree with Faustite in terms of what we should do. I can do either the central tower or the perimeter, if someone wants some help. Otherwise I'll pick one of the two." After all, it's not like had another choice, other than standing there and doing nothing.

General Faustite chooses to climb up and search The Central Tower for hostages. (20 pts) Faustite listened hawkishly to the other general's words, face straight and fire aflicker. "Then come with me." Eir gaze cast at once to Aue, head cocked lightly, then a brief glance to Valeria before turning wholesale toward the tower and its ancient bridge. Rotted as it was, the general anticipated crossing single-file with every muscle in their bodies razor-sharp with awareness. They could not lose further numbers with such a skeleton crew — especially when the rest faced becoming skeletons themselves.
With a hand pressed gingerly over a sore hip, Faustite approached the bridge's beginnings. Fastened with old craftsmanship, sporting crystallized remains of organic materials, the bridge stretched long and stooped lightly in the middle, with little indication either way of being unstable or sturdy. What weight it would hold was up to question; if it held under Faustite, would it hold beneath Arsenopyrite? And if they managed the bridge, could Faustite continue climbing without assistance for eir recently besieged body? Little question came to em that Arsenopyrite would offer what assistance he could, earnestly even, as if building relations in minute gestures may justify his tenure in the Negaverse — but would that assistance suffice?
Faustite pressed a hand to his own hot grate, felt the warmth lick and swell against its glass encasing. It was with grim resoluteness that ey started across that bridge, one foot fore the other, attention lighting from tower to bridge end to crystalline rope where flame danced malevolently in each refraction.

General Arsenopyrite chooses to climb up and search The Central Tower for hostages. (Points: TB Calculated and Linked) Arseno only nodded to Faustite. He knew the other doubted him, and Faustite had plenty of reason to doubt. Even Arseno doubted himself sometimes, no matter what he had done. He hadn't yet proved himself. Done nothing to improve himself. As though he were just there for a part-time job or something and would eventually move on. Of course he wouldn't but as of yet he hadn't done... well anything. Or at least nothing that the others knew about. He followed Faustite over to the bridge, hoping that the others might do what had been suggested, but he had no control over it. If they decided to go together, well, he wouldn't blame them. There were only four of them not including the leading corrupts, and he had no idea what they were doing. He watched as Faustite carefully started to cross the bridge and Arseno started to doubt that he could make it over. Should he wait for Faustite to make it over and cross? Or should he leave enough space between the two of them on the bridge so that if there was a plank more likely to collapse, it would only catch one of them? He decided on the latter, and only when he believed Faustite to have reached the middle of the bridge did Arseno decide to follow after.

Eternal Aue chooses to search The Playground Perimeter for hostages. (20 pts)The newest developments did not please the corrupt of lemons; every instinct told him that this was guerrilla warfare and they were being purposefully separated to weaken their numbers. Still. Faustite was correct in divvying out responsibilities to suit the whims of the Ascendant General and her pink-haired attendant.
Aue accepted his assignment with a curt nod, gaze sliding over to Arsenopyrite as the other General made fuss about going with Faustite. He did not know this one at all, and could only judge from the hesitant manner with which the man held himself, the way he moved and spoke and behaved.
If he gets Faustite killed, I will take his head to Herself as a prize. It would be the only way that he wouldn't end up completely scalded. Aue headed off to take the perimeter of the misty playground as he'd been bade, using his military training to his advantage in taking note of the density in beasts as well as avoiding potential pitfalls. It really was the position he'd been best suited for out of the available options, though he was not pleased being separated from the half-youma general.
"Keep comth open, for trouble." Aue hadn't developed a lisp suddenly, he was simply using the softer "th" sound instead of a harder "s" to avoid being heard as easily by nearby enemy.

Corrupted Valeria chooses to search The Castle for hostages.
The time spent making her way to the group had been slow, too slow, and at times she was sure she'd get lost. It was worth it though...she had made it back. but she was one of only a few who had made it back. That was bad - very bad. The idea to rescue them was a good one, they couldn't lose so many people, but it meant risking themselves and she was only a corrupted senshi. She wasn't that strong and she was not one that youma would like, or even hesitate in killing.
The idea worried her, who wouldn't be worried? Well maybe some wouldn't...
As one of the Generals, a half youma by the looks of it, decided to take charge she simply nodded her head. So she was going alone....she supposed it was fitting in a sense. She did most things alone didn't she? There really was no one else going to have her back if a youma, or several, decided to pick her off. The castle...it seemed like an easy set up and yet she headed for the castle and towards one of it's entrances. Her pink hair moving along the ground behind her as she made her way into the structure.
She just hoped she made it out of this.

[Prompt 5 - Answers] Choice 1 The group that climbs the tower all arrive within moments of each other but, alas, the hostages are not there! Although many of them might be let down, it was at least not a fruitless effort. Etched into the wood of the lookout tower is the same map that had been hastily drawn in the housing district garden. This one is well preserved by comparison and shows that the long snake-like shape is the river running parallel to the houses, and its head is the lake where it begins - just behind the playground. A clear ‘x’ is slashed into the wood over the lake itself. X marks the spot? +5 points
Choice 2 The group that searches the perimeter finds nothing - no creepy shadow people, no map, no hostages. Apart from some crude, faded kids drawings on the fence here and there, it is a pretty uneventful search. But at least they stayed safe, right? +3 points
Choice 3 Walking through the kid-sized castle is no easy feat, except for the extremely-short, and there seems to be no end to the maze-like passageways. Eventually, the members of this search find their way up to the second story of the castle, where the hostages have been stashed. They are not bound in any way, but they do seem to be asleep. +4 points

[Prompt 6a - Groups in The Tower & Perimeter] With their areas cleared and no hostages to escort, the groups around the perimeter and in the lookout tower converge outside of the castle to wait for the rest of their team to emerge. They hear calls from inside saying they’ve found the hostages but a loud rumbling noise begins immediately. It seems to be coming from the lake behind the playground.
The group members have to decide - wait for the rest of the team, or investigate at the lake?[Choice 1]:The noise in the lake is growing louder and louder. It doesn’t matter if the team inside gets out safely if they’re walking into a trap anyway! Confident that the team will be okay, your character decides to head down to the lake as part of a scouting group to see what is causing all the commotion.
If your character decides to investigate the lake, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to investigate The Lake for the source of the noise.
[Choice 2]: Even though there is obviously something happening at the lake, your character can also hear the sound of a commotion starting inside the castle. Team members are starting to come out one by one, but by the frazzled look on their face, they might need some backup here. Your character decides to stay behind until everyone is safely out of the playground castle.
If your character decides to stay behind and help the castle group, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to stay and help the team members exiting The Castle. _ [Prompt 6b - The Castle Team & The Hostages] Although they had been sound asleep before the team arrived, whatever spell or magic that bound the hostages seems to have worn off. It takes very little to wake them - a shout, or a shake - and despite the fact that they’re a little dazed and confused, they are up and on their feet in no time.
Just as everyone is about to make an exit, the sound of dozens of little feet can be heard. From the shadows emerge the youma that had stolen the hostages away in the first place - small, child-like creatures with wide, blind eyes and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. They block the passageways as the group tries to leave, hissing through their lipless mouths.
There isn’t much time to decide how to defeat them, as the noise outside is growing louder and they’re closing in - dive out the window, hand-on-hand combat, or using a weapon/magic?
[Choice 1]: It’s obvious that these creepy little once-children mean serious business this time! They don’t appreciate their new friends being stolen away and they’re angry. Although they seem small and easy to out maneuver, they managed to knock out all the hostages and steal them in the first place!
Instead of risking it in a one-on-one battle against enemies whose weaknesses are unknown, your character sees the open window. They’re on the second floor, but it’s a child-sized castle, and a little fall damage sure beats getting bitten.
If your character decides to jump out of the window, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to avoid the youma and jump Through the Window to safety.
[Choice 2]: It’s obvious that these creepy little once-children mean serious business this time! They don’t appreciate their new friends being stolen away and they’re angry. They look small and easy to out maneuver and something about the way they tilt their heads when they’re staring at your character makes them think their eyesight may not be too great.
Your character decides that the best course of action is a good old-fashioned sucker punch!
If your character decides to fight the youma without magic or a weapon, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to Punch the Youma right in the face.
[Choice 3]: It’s obvious that these creepy little once-children mean serious business this time! They don’t appreciate their new friends being stolen away and they’re angry. They look small and easy to out maneuver but their sharp fangs seem very dangerous.
Instead of risking it up close and personal with hand on hand combat, your character decides that it would be better to keep some distance between them and the little suckers by using their magic or weapon.
If your character decides to fight the youma with magic or a weapon, please copy the text below and include it in your post:
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to fight the youma with Magic or Weaponry.

Captain Nissonite chooses to fight the youma with Magic or Weaponry. He wasn't entirely sure what had woken him, nor even how he'd come to be unconscious in the first place. For a small handful of seconds he couldn't even recall where he was or why, then he saw a spill of pale teal hair strewn across the ground and all of it came crashing painfully back to him. Heart hammering, the captain scrambled over to the corrupt senshi's side to draw her up into his arms, shaking her gently. "Amphi, wake up Gorgeous." Cool knuckles brushed along her cheek, fingertips smoothing her bangs back from her face until he saw her stirring, eyes opening to look up at him again. "We gotta go." There were other agents around them, those that'd been taken in the mist as well, and those that appeared to have been looking for them. But they weren't alone, Niss could hear the sound numerous pairs of small feet circling around whatever structure they'd woken up in. "Something's coming." Something turned out to be number of small youma with sharp, gnashing teeth and large sightless eyes. They looked horrific, even for Youma, and the captain didn't quite know what about them made him so unnerved, but he didn't ignore the hairs rising at the back of his neck. As they filled the entrance, blocking their easiest means of escape, Niss summoned his icy meteor hammer, and wrapped the chain around a strong hand. "Get ready, Gorgeous. We've got some unwanted company." It looked like they were going to have to fight their way out of here.
