โHaving gone past all of the initial conversational process, the tall male was still quite surprised as Leonora herself began to speak about his looks and how it was expected to be a big group of women just waiting for his acceptance, or something of the kind. It was a heart warming thing to hear, but still felt weird for Kuro. Not because it was her that said that, it was just rare for any female to compliment him on his appearance. The darker vibe, from his clothes and personality itself being a man of few words and facial expressions, the height matched with the muscular size of his frame, and the crocodilian features like the claws on his hands, the strong and long tail with thick scales and spike looking structures going down its shape, not to mention the hidden parts. His jaw muscles and crocodilian mouth were a brutal thing to witness whenever he consumed anything, especially meat. If the sheer looks of it didn't scare you off, the power behind the bite and the frightening teeth would usually do the trick. "I am deeply thankful for the words, but life must not be that just, I believe" ,the man lightly chuckled, " I'm usually one females like to keep at bay, for various reasons, I think" . Some girls in the past expressed the raw fear of getting consumed by him, each time was quite harsh but Kuro was used to the treatment, being a shifter and an intimidating one at that. His reclusive ways were not that helpful, as well.
Yet, moving on to his friend, Kuro focused on Leon's words as he explained how life had gone down on his side of life during that whole time. It was spent mostly with Leonora, as expected, and the crocodilian found that sweet, a lovely way to get through the hours, learn new things and go deeper into the feelings cultivated between the two. "Glad to see such talented people are out there producing fine work, and I'm confident even you will improve your style, those aprons are helpful but they could use her touch" , Kuro stated jokingly at his friend, even having a bit of a laugh at the end of his words. The crocodilian didn't actually think that, but if she was as talented as Leon said, and Kuro trusted his words, then all people could benefit of her vision on clothing and such. After knowing his friend's work for so long, even watching it be made and finished during his visits at the forge, an interest in what people wore around did grow inside Kuro's mind, although not strongly enough to manifest itself in a hobby or something, the hunting activities were more of his natural zone.
While the conversation went on, food and cider arrived at their tables by Leon's orders, and the croc shifter was more than pleased to accept those. His right hand took hold of the drink but stopped there, his attention was driven towards Leonora right after her tongue had been burned, but no focus was paid to that as Kuro listened to her words after the fact. It was true that usually the parents were more skilled than their children, but that came from years of experience ahead of them, it was most likely that she was already talented beyond most, and by the time she reached her parent's age or even somwhere close to that, her skills would have surpassed theirs. That was the common process, at least. Quite similar to what happened to Kuro with his hunting skills and shop development. He was, at that moment, wondering what to respond but the female took her leave first, to the bathroom. Nodding to her as she left, Kuro's attention went back to Leon the second she turned around.
When she was far enough from them, Kuro would reach far and give his friend a pat on the shoulder, a revelation of how proud he was of the feline shifter. "Don't have any doubts she is a great match for you, my friend, especially after the way she handled you there. You two would indeed make a beautiful pair, and I'm happy for you and her, long times since I saw two people acting so lovingly for one another". His sincere opinion was out, and in favor of their romantic partnership. The lady was gentle, sweet and truly seemed to care for Leon, besides apparently being a good master of her craft despite her own comments. There was a base for great promise, and knowing his best friend, his brother after all is said and done, this promise would be kept until the very deep end, and perhaps continue on even after that. Death is said to never be an end for those who refuse to leave each other, mind and soul.โ
Leon was surprised by Leoโs comments toward Kuro, but he didnโt feel jealous or threatened by them. Leonora was a sweet woman who saw the best in everyone. He suspected that she could tell that Kuro was lonely and in need of a bit of encouragement, which he supported. Giving his friend a small, knowing look, he didnโt say anything โ it was one thing for a friend to compliment him (a male at that), it was another to receive praise from a female. As Leo glanced at Leo, he gave her a small nod and smile of understanding and reassurance, grasping her hand a little tighter to let her know that he wasnt upset with her comments.
Once the food arrived, Leon tucked into the meal, eager to fill his belly. Seeing Leo burn her tongue, he felt both concern and amusement at her reaction โ she could be so damn cute! Once he was sure she was alright, he went back to his meal, only to feel her tail hook with his. Smiling to himself, he let his tail curl around hers in a loving gesture.
โYou are very talented, Leonora. In time, I have no doubt that your skills will reach and maybe even surpass that of your parents, and Iโm sure they would be proud of your accomplishments.โ It was true, she might think she was lacking now, but given time, patience and hard work, he had no doubt that her skill set would greatly improve. Nodding at Kuroโs compliment, he smiled at his friend. Leon appreciated Kuro being so open and friendly with Leonora, even though he hardly knew her.
Seeing the blush on Leonoraโs cheeks, Leon knew that she appreciated their praise. But before much more could be said, Leonora excused herself to use the bathroom. Despite the crowd in the tavern, Leon kept an ear open and smiled when he heard Leonora squealing in excitement โ she was so damn adorable, he couldnโt stand it!
Directing his attention back to Kuro, Leon nodded and grinned. โThank you, my friend, that means a lot coming from you.โ Theyโd both talked about their ideal mates in the past and how they wished to eventually settle down. Now that Leonora was in his life, Leon had to wonder when a lovely lady would catch Kuroโs eye โ or better yet, when Kuro would catch a ladyโs eye. Kuro was a strong male. He was a capable hunter and would prove to be a good provider. Yes, he was a bit brooding at times, but who wasnโt? Kuro was charming when he wanted to be, kind, generous and just an all around โgood guyโ. Any female would be lucky to call him her mate.
โYour time will come, brother. I promise.โ Now that he thought about it, Leon did know of one female that might tempt Kuro, but she was a bit much. Heโd have to test the waters with his friend to find out if heโd be interested in someone who was a little more spirited than most females, before he introduced them. โSpeaking of females, remind me again of your ideal mateโฆโ Leon said with a smile as he took another bite of his dinner.
She stood in there as she collected her thoughts and nerves. She squealed. again as her heart felt like it will jump from her chest. She attempted to steady the beating of her chest as she leaned into the door. She stood up and took a deep breath. She had this so why was she being so nervous. She felt like she was trying to impress Leon's parents at the moment. This person is very close to Leon and she felt she needed to get his approval to be with Leon. She closed her eyes as she gripped her dress. "Come on Leonora you have this. Leon likes you and you well you love him. He is so kind and it shouldn't matter if others like you. Just show Leon you will be perfect for him." She nodded feeling herself rise from her nerves as she opened the door and exited the toilet.
She began to walk back over to them as she looked at the two. Her eyes gleamed as she sat back down in her seat. She was only catching the tail end of the conversation. Should she even hear this? She had just met the guy and they are speaking of ideal types. She began to eat her food as her ears perked up. They twitched as she listened to all the noise around her. She picked up on some people talking about her being the new tailor in town. Others were noticing her as the female who beat them in the fighting arenas. She looked around as she let her eyes fall on a group of men as she smirked. She would continue to kick their butts in the arena. They were a bunch of weaklings anyways. Her tail began to lock with Leon's again as she sat there gracefully looking like a doll.
She took another bite of her food as she licked her lips before bringing a napkin up and patted it against her lips. The food here was good. She was impressed such a place existed. She looked at her cider as she was now not a fan because it had burnt her. She waved down a woman. "A cold mead please. Your biggest glass." She said as she watched the girl go off to get it. She was excited when the girl brought it back. Leo wasn't much of a drinker but she did on occasion. She was what most would call a lightweight but she wanted some in her system. She picked it up and took a big gulp. She wanted a night where she didn't have to be proper for once. It was driving her insane worrying about what others would think of her.

| Name - Nanashi Kuzunoha | Knit - Elementor (Aerokinesis) | Alignment - Neutral Chaos | Age - 15 | Year - first | Clothes - Shinobi Shozoku
((Entering from Gala ball)) That sure was a horrible night. Then again, Nanashi was used to this. Yet with someone as good and as pure as Jesse shouldn't have to deal with someone the likes of him. Guess Ivar was right. Ugh... Why'd I gotta think of him of all people? Nanashi would mutter to himself wandering the streets. Hopefully he would get back to his senses tomorrow and all of this would end. In reality, he half hoped that Jesse would find a mate who would be a fox shifter like her, so he'd hopefully forget about her. On the other side of his head, he hopes he gets to be with her. The only thing stopping that side of his head is Asahi. He could never get over her unless he properly avenged her and all the others in Khosbaina who he hurt as his time as a bandit. It was pretty much the only reason Nanashi would even stay here. I'm wasting time here. He said to himself, as he would look up, seeing the tavern. Remembering what happened when he first came here, he hoped there would be no other student he would drunkenly harass, and some other person to want to fight him the next day.
As Nanashi would walk into the tavern, he noticed that there were three other shifters who seemed to be locked into eachother in a conversation as he would just walk on up to the bartender. After what happened at the Winter Solstice festival, they pretty much knew him by face. How hard was it to not recognize a youth with a green scar running down his cheek, and half shaven hair? Nanashi would then go up to the bar tender, with a somewhat dead and empty facial expression. Venison stew and a bottle of alto wine.... It's been a crappy night. Nanashi said, as he was reluctantly given his order. Sitting at the stool, Nanashi would drink a large quantity of the bottle as he would sigh. Just the thought of it all washing away as he would drink was his desired effect as he would be lost in thought staring at the stew in front of him. That Gala really had good food though. It was sad to say, that if it wasn't for his own unwillingness to let go of grudges and move on, he wouldn't be like this. Then again, he never had time to properly mourn the loss of his own arm and friends, so it still took time getting used to this new arm.
โThe dark crocodilian gave a somewhat sarcastic little chuckle as his friend told him that his time would come. It had been a lonely life on that side of things, romantical and all, but even the thick skinned shifter had a little bit of hope left. Love was something he knew that surpassed several visual barriers, it was not purely a matter of aesthetic. After all, it was about essence and liking a person for who she was and not what, how, why, those would just come as a bonus in the whole picture. In any case, the eyebrow on the right side of Kuro's face would raise as Leon questioned him as to how his ideal mate was. In truth, there was a moment of silence, with the crocodilian looking at his friend while thinking about an answer. By the end of that, Kuro would look upwards in thought and reply with a somewhat unsure tone, still it was possible to notice that it was about if there was anything else to add, and not doubt about the characteristics he was selecting. " I guess it would just have to be someone kind, all around gentle..." ,his head moving down, so he could gaze at his considered brother, "In the sense that she treats others well and with care". Calmly then, his posture would adapt once more, both arms crossing each other, and his ocular expression revealing humor while his words were said with the usual deep tone lacking emotion, " Of course, someone who would not judge the other, but if the woman gets an interest in me and gets through my horrendous mouth, then she surely would not judge others that easily". Finishing those words, his attention went back to Leonora now that she had made her way back to their table.
For a tad bit, he wondered what her thoughts would be on the matter. Not on Kuro's ideal mate, but in the whole situation of them discussing that and her getting the response as soon as she comes back. Could've been a weird position, given that she was next to the man who would most likely confirm without fear that she was the ideal mate for him. Although Kuromori imagined that to be a cute scenario, the courage to pull something like that into existence didn't develop enough. Even so, the crocodilian was certain that the female was sure of Leon's feelings, as much as any could be, and the other way around too, the certainty the lion had of her feelings for him.
Things were not focused on their love matter, as it would seem. While Kuro returned his attention back to his friend for a brief moment, Leonora had ordered and received a glass of cold mead with a considerate size to it. To the tall and muscular male, having the figure that he had, her drink was not yet on the impressive size, despite him knowing it was not her intention to impress, but the croc had to admit that was a funny scene a bit, with her first swig being a big gulp out of it. Reminded him of those tough men you would see in plays and even in real life inside bars and fighting arenas during such events, holding up tall glasses of alcoholic beverages and gulping them down. Her figure kind of broke that image, but the scene remained in his mind.
Still in that state of thinking and reflecting, his eyes gave a little bit of a walk around the whole place, seeing the faces and only now focusing on his sensitive senses, as they were much better than that of regular beings, but without focus, there was nothing really special about it, they made no difference like that, usually. Matter of situation, really. During that process, something interesting happened, with a young male walking in with not the most joyful expression on his face. His face was not in Kuro's memories, as he was not really one to go out in events that much and even to stroll through the streets in his free time. Hardly during work hours, as well. But the appearance of the boy was still curious, mostly when it came to the singular scar. Its color was unusual, and made the crocodilian shifter question himself a bit as to how that could come into existence. The questions and answers, the theories and ideas, with them going through his cranium, Kuro continued to subtly observe, while not fully taking his attention away from the company of his brother and his lovely partner. 'While some find a smile, some others get misery at night, the contrast is impressive...' ,Kuro thought to himself, being able to hear the young male's words with his heightened senses, and making a comparison between how there was Leon and Leonora, a happy couple having a good night, and then there was that young one, drowning his sorrows. With that, Kuromori resumed his focus back to the couple in front of him, not making much movement in that change as only his eyes were really that adjusted to see the male with the green scar.โ
Leon nodded a bit at Kuroโs description of his ideal mate. The qualities he described were highly valued and something that anyone would wish for in their mate, at least from his perspective. Part of him had suspected that Kuro would want a strong mate, someone that was self-reliant, but now, hearing his words and preferences, Leon suspected that like him, Kuro wished for someone to care for, protect and provide for. For him, he knew that Leo would allow him to watch over her and care for her and she would do the same for him, in her own ways. It was a perfect partnership and he hoped that someday, Kuro would find a female that would compliment him as well.
โFine qualities, my friendโฆI hope that someday you find such a female.โ In time, Leon suspected that Kuro would meet a female that was able to break through his walls and capture his precious heart. He knew of a shifter female that might compliment his dark and brooding brother in a way that would lighten his life, but she was a but much to handle and might scare Kuro away if introduced too suddenly. Leon decided it was best to talk to her and Leo about it before he made a move to play โmatchmakerโ.
As Leo retook her seat and slipped her tail around his again, he smiled. He loved having her near. Sharing little acts of affection warmed his heart as well. But as she ordered a rather large drink, he frowned a little. Was she planning on getting drunk? That amount of mead would get a man of his size tipsy, let alone a female of her size. He didnโt want to seem over protective, but Leon watched her closely as she drank, not wanting her to down the mead too fast, lest she get sick.
โMay I have some, Leonora?โ He asked, a smile on his lips as he leaned a bit closer. It was a sneaky tactic, but if he could drink some of the mead, it would mean less for her to get drunk off while he was still looking out for her well-being. When she kindly gave him permission, he grasped the glass and took a few large gulps before returning the glass to her. โThank you, Leo, that was quite refreshingโฆโ Looking over at Kuro he gave his friend a knowing wink. Hopefully, she wouldnt order more mead, if she did, he might have to cut her off from the bar and he had no idea how well that would go over...
She tilted her head as she listened to Kuro mention what he wanted in a girl. Her eyes were fixated on him as she listened. He wanted a sweet girl. One who would love his personality and never his looks. She was a sucker for romance. "That is so sweet that you have an idea of the girl you want in your life. I am sure fate will happen to you. Keep your head up Kuro. I am sure a lovely lady is waiting for you. You two just need to cross paths." She was so optimistic about everything. She honestly felt something would happen. She was torn up over Rey and not getting her chance with him. Fate had different plans sending Leon in her direction. Her parents told her fate was a thing and no matter what it will always happen.
She looked over her shoulder as another enter the tavern. She looked over at him as she took a second drink and then a third. Of course, they were big drinks to the point her cheeks were puffed out. She waved at him. "Will you come join us. No one should sit alone. Having company is always better when having your meal." By the looks of it he was a student. She gave a sweet smile with a hiccup as she giggled. She was already feeling a little warm and a bit tipsy. She looked at the glass before looking at Leon. A big smile on her face.
Leon then asked if he could have a drink of her mead. Of course, she let him. She watched as he drank most of it as she gave an impressed expression. When it was given back to her she attempted to chug it so he couldn't do that again. She got to about three drinks left before she came up for some air. She giggled as she stretched. She stood up as she flexed her arms as she looked intimidating. Her tail was now released from Leon as it swayed. She wobbled a little as she looked around the room. "Who wants to wrestle. Arms on the table and whoever touches the table pays for the next drink." The room burst into laughter as she stood there looking serious. Her small muscles not even visible under her long sleeved dress. She looked at Kuro as she leaned forward. "Want to wrestle. I bet I can pin you down." She was in high spirits as she looked to Leon.
"How about you handsome? I can pin you down as well." She gave a smile as she looked down at him. She wobbled a few more times as she sat in Leon's lap missing her own chair. It has been a while since she got to go out and have some genuine fun. She had always had her mind on work that this was something she needed. A stress reliever.
โKuromori listened to the words spoken by Leon and gave a slow but understanding nod, realizing well the sincerity in his friend's voice, knowing that the male only wanted him to become happier in any way. It likely that it was basically the same kind of feeling the fishmonger possessed when seeing Leon so joyful just for being around Leonora and cultivating that whole affection, the scene was beautiful and although the crocodilian was not one to imagine himself in similar situation, he could not help but partially agree to what had been said and wish for a companion of his own. The thought would not last long though, as his lack of confidence in that matter and experiences led him to have a strong belief that mating and all related subjects were not meant for him. A few good years leading life like that and you too lose most hope, unfortunately.
Then, his attention was driven back to Leonora as her opinion on the conversation came through. Her words were more supportive in their own way as destiny was involved in her argument and that was something people knew not to take lightly. Kuro was a sincere individual with a very down to earth mindset, but even he himself would not agree that destiny and forces above their existence did take part in the events that unfolded on this world, from the small things to the major. Beneath the mouth piece, the crocodilian mouth would slightly curve into a warm hidden smile, one of the most subtle expressions the fishmonger possessed, but also one of the most sincere, it was needless to say that words were non-existent to shape up into a sentence after what Leonora had said, and the weight it carried onto him. Maybe he could've said something to debate, but in his chest, the pressure told him that anything he came up with would be shot down once more, as there was no place for low self steem at that table, and honestly, Kuromori was glad for that, despite his dark self.
Continuing on to observe Leonora, the tall male began to worry as well. The effects of the mead were clearly hitting Leon's romantic pair, and she was apparently one to lose her social limits as the alcohol came down into the blood stream. The real start was presented the moment her eyes landed on the green scarred young sitting by his lonesome on the other area, inviting him to their table. Of course, anyone was welcomed, but with the mead taking over, it was not the wisest choice to come close, and the young would probably notice that just as much as Kuro and Leon themselves soon enough. Wisely, Leon took advantage of proximity and manage to get a good amount of liquids out of the cup and into his body, stopping her from getting even more drunk than she began to be. Perhaps, it was not that useful as Leonora took hold of the thing, drank agressively and then stood with another pose besides them, flexing and boasting, challenging the others around despite her fragile small frame. The black fishmonger could've found that funny if he was not one directly dealing with her, even if Leon was much closer and willing to stop her. Once more, a lack of words from Kuromori's part as the female challenged him to a wrestle, it was only then that the true idea of laughing came through to him, but he held his own and kept a firm posture. With a friendly body language, he rose a free hand and waved it as a 'no', declining the duel as gently as he could. Had to admit though, that he was relieved when her attention went straight back to Leon, knowing that his brother would be a much better fit to respond to such a thing and control the woman simultaneously.
Knowing how those situations went in most occasions, Kuromori began to make his preparations to leave. Opening his mouth, it was now for the first time revealed the sheer brutality of his crocodilian traits. The jaw was longer than any other, the mass of neck and jaw muscles visible with what the mouth piece now could no longer hide. Big teeth, made to go through flesh and keep it in clutch, were spread all over the mouth just like a common croc's, with a particular thick set of two fang looking teeth at the front. Such beastly structure opened so that the hand holding Kuro's mead could turn the mug and allow the whole drink to simply go straight into his throat, warming him up nicely but showing no signs of it actually affecting the shifter. The whole process was made calmly, to show he was not rushing to leave nor anything, rude as that would be. So, the next thing Kuro did was reach into an inner pocket of his coat, as his mouth closed again and the mouth piece hid his face once more, take hold of a few coins and drop them on the table besides his plate. "Thank you for the wonderful time, my good friend, but I must take leave. The night might still be a tad longer for you this time though" ,he jokingly said, talking about Leonora's state at that moment. And towards her, he gave a slow nod, "It was an honor to meet you, may we have great meetings like this in the future, but do take care now. Also, do not worry as you are in good hands" ,the darkened crocodile spoke calmly, finding comical how she sat on Leon's lap, needing to point that out by looking at Leon at the end of his sentence.
Taking hold of the plate carrying his meal, Kuromori lightly bowed to them and turned around, heading towards the door. Yet, before actually going out, the crocodilian opened his mouth again and threw the whole meal in, swallowing it down after a few bites with ease. Knowing that people would most likely be afraid after seeing that, imagining their own flesh ripped apart by such a brutal bear trap of a jaw, the plate was left on a surface near the door and Kuromori finally left, heading out home for the night.โ
Leon knew that he was in trouble when Leonora began to ask patrons if they wanted to arm wrestle for drinks. A few men eyed her appreciatively and moved as if to accept the offer, but one snarled look from Leon and they sat back down and went back to their own business. Then Leonora turned her attention to Kuro. Leon knew he didnโt have to worry about his brother taking up the challenge. Leonora was clearly drunk, despite the small amount of alcohol sheโd had, and she wasnโt acting like herself.
Sure enough, Kuromori politely and gently declined the offer, to which Leonora then turned her attention to him. Shaking his head a little, he smiled and nodded. โAlright, Leonora, Iโll take your challenge, but only once I get you home.โ As Leonora plopped down in his lap, he wrapped his arms around her and held her securely where sheโd landed. She seemed to accept his terms for the โmatchโ and cuddled close, happily rubbing her face against his face and neck, effectively covering him with her scent and her with his. Leon couldnโt have been happier about that. As shifters, their animal instincts were to mark their mates with their scents and it seemed that in her drunken state, Leonora was doing what she pleased, no inhibitions.
Turning his attention to Kuro, Leon nodded at his friend and brother. He didnโt need to leave coin for the meal, Leon had ordered the food, so he would have gladly paid for it, but he also knew that there was no arguing with Kuro. In any case, Leon would just use the extra coin to buy more of Kuroโs delicious fish the next time he came to his shop.
โHave a good evening, Kuro. Iโll see you tomorrow.โ Leon would have watched his friend leave, but Leo shifted in his lap and he held her a bit tighter to prevent her from wandering off. โAlright beautifulโฆI think itโs time that we head out as well.โ Reaching into his pocket, he left the payment for his and Leoโs meals before helping her to her feet. It was a challenge, getting her cloak on her, but once he did, he scooped her up into his arms and carried her out of the tavern and into the cold street.
With the sun already set, it was far chillier than when theyโd arrived, but Leon was so focused on getting Leonora home, that he hardly noticed the cold. Holding Leonora close, he made sure she was warm and covered against the chill. Upon arriving at his home, he placed her in his bed, still dressed, minus her cloak and shoes, before getting ready for bed as well. When he attempted to sleep on the floor again, Leo grasped his hand and asked him not to leave her, and thus, Leon held Leo close the whole night through, perfectly content to keep her warm and safe in his arms until morning.

Uncharacteristically, Kayne ended up waking up a bit later than what was the usual schedule, mainly because he was tired from both helping out with the feast at the gala and having to take a carriage ride back to the inn once he had brought everything along, making sure not to miss out on anything. He woke up with a yawn escaping his lips, hair tousled in random places, and he rubbed the sleep out of his irises, knowing that he had to help out with his parents again as usual. His trudge from the management bedroom to the bathroom was a languid attempt, having to take a bath before putting on a fresh set of clothes and making himself basically presentable. Once he arrived downstairs to the tavern, his mother had prepared him the simple breakfast consisting of eggs, sausages and rye bread, together with some hot tea. It was sudden that the weather became warm after the harsh cold breeze and snow that lasted for several weeks, but it was best that the chef savored that rare moment as much as he could.
He was smiling as he ate the breakfast bit by bit, thinking about the next task that Emma should do since her helping out at the bar last night was one proof of her capabilities in actions. But also, there were other tasks that had to be delegated to the barmaid aside from managing the bar portion of the tavern. That, however, had to wait till she actually showed up. Whatever questions that were thrown at him by his parents, especially about the gala last night, he answered them truthfully, though his tone was still a bit groggy from tiredness. The tea however, was enough to slowly energize him alongside the food.

After a while, Nanashi noticed it was getting late, and he knew that when there was this one lady with two other men who drunkenly invited Nanashi to come over and join them in drinking. In reality, he knew he couldn't because of what happened last time. Tomorrow had to be different, because he knew he had to get it all off of his chest. Tomorrow, Nanashi was going to tell Jesse about himself, whether or not it can get him kicked out of the academy, or even all of Eona for that matter. Looking back at the woman who was now being escorted out, Nanashi smirked. Get ready. Your head is gonna hurt like hell in the morning. Nanashi said, gulping the last of his wine before setting the gold coins on the table. At that point, Nanashi would go back to the academy and call it a night. Tomorrow was a free day, after all and Nanashi was ready for it. ((exits for the day change))
[ - Enter Emma into Jolly Tavern & Inn for New RP Day - ]
After a full night sleep, Emma slowly awoke to a bright, sunny day. Blinking her eyes open slowly, she yawned deeply and rolled from her side to her back, surveying her room with tired eyes. Her body ached with fatigue and the added strain from the day before, but it was a good, familiar feeling. Yawning lightly, Emma sat up, stretching her back and her arms with a small smile. Looking toward the discarded dress from the night before, she remembered her tips and felt a jolt of excitement.
Upon emptying her pockets and counting the contents, she found that sheโd made enough money to cover her room and board for at least a week or two more. Sighing with abject relief, she smiled wide, truly thankful for her good luck. After a quick bath, a change of clothes and a warm breakfast, Emma headed out into the Market District. She took care to drop the borrowed dress, as well as some of her other clothes, at the washer womanโs for cleaning. Emma wanted to make sure that she returned the dress clean and as good as new.
The day was unusually warm, but she wasnโt complaining. Her walk was thoroughly enjoyable, and she hoped sheโd have some time today to enjoy the weather. In no time, Emma was stepping into the Jolly Tavern and Inn, the warmth of the place immediately enveloping her. By now, it was getting close to late morning (roughly 10/11 in the morning) but there were still customers enjoying late breakfasts. Catching sight of Kayne at the bar area, she hung up her cloak before heading over to talk with him.
โGood Morning, Mr. Nightroad. I hope Iโm not catching you at a bad time...โ They hadnโt agreed on a time to meet, so she was hoping that this was as good a time as any to speak with him about the next step toward employment. Catching sight of Kayneโs mother, Emma smiled and waved.
โGood Morning, Mrs. Nightroad. Thank you so much for letting me borrow your lovely gown. I just dropped it off at the cleaners. Once itโs washed, Iโll return it, I promise.โ Emma was truly grateful to her for her kindness, it warmed her heart.
Surely, the tea had worked wonders depending on the spices and herbs used for the mix, and for this morning, it was ginger, thus it had the earthy note together with the zing. Ginger was something traded from foreign lands, with prices transitioning depending on changing economy statuses, though basically, it was still a rare ingredient that couldn't be found elsewhere and the Nightroads were lucky to find trusted merchants on that regard. It was when Emma showed up, also thanking his mom for letting her borrow the dress. Kayne gave her a wink and a small salute. "Good morning, Emma. Definitely tired from the gala preparations yesterday but definitely worth it. I sure hope you are well-rested as well." It was then that he had to eat more of the sausages, having to top the eggs onto the bread before popping the piece into his mouth.
Kayne chewed and swallowed before speaking once again. "Say, have you eaten well? This will become another productive day indeed, more so with the weather today. May be a small reprieve from the harsh cold for a long time." There may be people who may be still feel sick from the constant cold, since not all people have the same level of immunity against the temperature. That small day of warm weather would be considered a blessing, at least until they had to face the chill if the weather would become unpredictable once again.

Emma nodded at Kayneโs words and smiled sweetly. โYes, I slept rather well, but I am a bit tired still.โ Emma suspected that it would take her several days to fully recharge and feel like herself again, but her efforts had been well worth the reward. Looking up at Kayne as he inquired about her breakfast, she smiled sweetly. โYes, thank you. I had eggs and toast not too long ago. But I would love some tea if itโs not too much trouble.โ She asked, looking from Kayne to his mother who smiled and went to brew some of her lovely tea.
Looking back to Kayne, she had to wonder what he had in store for her today. With her plans to meet with Krem in the evening, she hoped that her day wouldnโt be too long, lest she had to send him a note to reschedule or cancel all together. โWhat tasks will I be doing today, Mr. Nightroad?โ Emma asked with a bit of curiosity. He was right, the day was lovely and there were plenty of tasks that could be done that they normally would have struggled through in the cold and snow. She knew that Kayne could ask her to do a great number of things; chop wood, gather water, run errands in town, clean, cook, etc. She only hoped that it wasnโt anything too strenuous โ she was hoping for an easier day after yesterday.
Once her tea was placed in front of her, she graciously thanked Mrs. Nightroad. Mixing in a bit of cream and honey, Emma happily sipped the warm tea while Kayne explained what they would be up to for the rest of the day, after breakfast was finished of course.
The chef took another sip of the tea as he heard Emma speaking that she had rested and eaten well before heading to the tavern for work, which was a good thing indeed. Right now, Pepin wasn't around considering that the water elemental chose to work at the school cafeteria for the time being, preparing breakfast for those who needed something to eat. He knew that Pepper would still like to take care of the sisterly figures who were close to her heart. "Mmmm... Also quite delectable." Upon hearing that Emma was all up and ready for whatever assignment that would be assigned to her, that was when he remembered about the menu for today, more specifically for lunch. The gala's feast was hearty, especially with the desserts, so it may be needed to go for something a bit lighter for a change. Fish soup would be served for today, especially with the fresh catches from another trusted fishmonger aside from Kuro himself.
"We are about to serve fish soup for lunch. My first apprentice before you came along is working at the kitchen cafeteria for today, so may I ask for help with the vegetables? I'll be working on the fish. Also, for tonight, we'll be serving wine in those barrels for the loyal patrons, together with bread, cheese and some pork roast." There were multiple food combinations available to pair well with drinks, and the philosophy for Kayne was that they should compliment well with each other. "With that, I'll be in charge with cleaning and grilling the meat, and you can help my mom with preparing the cheese and bread." Surely, most, if not all, of the dirty work with cooking was Kayne's specialty.
He then went on with finishing the food and tea, considering that time was of the essence at this moment. One thing was for sure, the Nightroads would end up getting rich again, all while keeping the clients satisfied with full tummies.
