Chao turned when she heard someone talking to her. She smiled at the long haired hunter who was having problems with her mount and waved back. "Of course, I'll do my best to help." Chao responded before heading towards the Fluff.
The fluff was very cute, but it was refusing to move. She stared it down for a few moments, possibly intimidating the animal before speaking to it. "Be a good fluff and Listen to her!" She demanded.
Anepou, now somewhat bruised, somewhat frustrated, but EVER MORE determined after losing his first joust, stalked back to the pen with the various mounts. He looked them over, pondering and trying to figure out mount he wanted next. There were quite a lot of options. He was quite sure he did NOT want to find himself stuck with the goddamn spider. He didn't want to think what it might have in the way of poison, or what it might do to his clothing. When some one came over and said they were going to pick for him because he was taking too long and in their way, however, he snorted, annoyed. He had been trying to make an educated decision here!
He found the reins of a large Wolf-like beast being shoved into his hands, and he shrugged, staring at the fluff it had. He seemed to be getting lucky, on the level of 'oh, FLUFFY THINGS' at least! He took the reins, and studied his new mount. "What shall I call you..." He murmured, staring curiously at him. He stepped back, not letting go of the wolf like animal's reins. Fluffy, yet majestic, but strangely with feathers coming out from under the saddle? Were they PART of the thing? He had no idea. "I think I'm going to call you... Wepwawet. Wawey for short." He grinned, pleased, then blinked at himself. Sometimes his family's insanity and insistence on learning the old gods came out at the oddest times.
Anepou then began to try to tame Wawey. "All right boy, you're a handsome fellow, you know... AH ********!" Wawey apparently decided he was in NO mood to be tamed, and began to shriek. Loudly, terrifyingly AND he began rearing and stomping and, and on, Anepou. The damn wolf was out of control, and holy ******** did this hurt. Ane knew a visit to the Hospital Wing was going to be in order after this particular Joust, so he damn well hoped he'd be able to get this ******** under control and win against his damn opponent this time! He had no desire to be murderated by a goddamn FEAR beast that dared to look like a fluffy ******** wolf!
He dogged as many of the attacks as he could, but he felt cuts getting through from the giant beast's feet, as they landed on him. He even got knocked down, once, and was directly stomped on, before he rolled out and managed to regrab the reins. He yanked, HARD, on Wawey's reins, until Wawey stopped bucking and shrieking. "God damn, son of Set and a WALRUS, Wawey. NOT OK. Chill out you damned idiot animal!"
He stepped back, and took a deep breath, and stock of the situation. Cuts all over... Check. A ******** ton of bruises... Check. New work out outfit needed? Check twice. Five showers as soon as he could? Check, check, recheck, and don't forget to check. Gods this was a shite run he was having with this stupid beast.
Ane was about to try swearing at his goddamn wolf thing when he noticed movement to the side of him. He saw Hunter the sun Lead approaching. Ane kept his face blank, because if there was a Lead here he wasn't fond of, Hunter was definitely it. Nonetheless, he acted as polite as he could to the Hunter lead, at least in public, so he waited to see what on earth the Lead wanted, given he had no intention of jousting the man, that was for sure. When Hunter just walked past Anepou to Wawey, he blinked, and tilted his head, confused.
When he spoke to Wawey, Ane just lifted a brow. "HEY. YOU CAN DO IT. YOU'RE NOT A PACK LEADER BUT YOU CAN DO IT." Was the first thing Anepou heard out of Hunter. As always, the loud Sun Lead made him wince and wish the man came with a volume button. "NOW CHILL OUT, LET HIM MOUNT, AND YOU'LL GET TO JOUST." After those words, Hunter walked off, leaving Anepou pondering if he had any ibuprofen in his room to deal with the headache the man had caused ON TOP of the trampling Wawey had given him.
Then he realized... Wawey had calmed the ******** down. Like 100% calmed down. Anepou stared in appalled shock, not at all pleased that his goddamn mount chose to behave for Hunter, but would stomp all over him. What the ever living ********. He controlled the urge to snarl under his breath, and instead, Mounted Up.
Meara gave Chao a thankful grin for lending a hand then looked at the fluff fox. "Thanks, I'm not sure why it sat down on me." She said to the other Moon Hunter as Chao looked at her temporary mount. Thankfully it seemed like Chao's words made an impact on the fluff as it got back to it's feet and was suddenly acting very tamed. "Thank you again!" There was a grin on the brunettes face as she studied the fluff fox.
Of course then the Hunter in charge came over to tell her that it was time for her to joust and not with any weapons. On one hand, awesome to be able to joust, on the other hand she could see this turning out badly. Her opponent ended up being a Hunter, named Dorothy, riding a rather strong looking Apex and got into position.
In the end she somehow managed to beat the other Hunter only for the fluff to run off, pissed.

<******** jousting.
Shik loved any chance he got at something sportsman-like. The ability to knock someone's s**t about was just a bonus.
He immediately signed up and was directed to grab whatever reins he could, no second chances. All of the monstrosities available looked like good competitors, even the turtle; after all, pretty much all of them were taller at the shoulder than he was. Waiting only for a moment, Shik's hand dove into the chaos and reeled in a wolf-like apex pet.
Not an alpha wolf, he was told. But he scoffed. Any pet under his direction was going to be the alpha wolf, thanks.
If anybody asked, she would swear up and down that she hadn't only shown up at the jousting area just because she'd spotted Shikoba heading in that direction. It would likely be a weak attempt at a lie, however, considering how much lighter she felt, after their little mission in Vegas that had ended in a somewhat surprising manner. Happiness was not something Shaheen typically allowed herself to indulge in, but for today, she was practically basking in it, a small smile alighting her lips, the lifting of her spirits evident in her bright gaze.
She was happy. There was just no hiding it.
Oh, but she would do her best, as she approached, signed up, and moved to where the apex pets were all penned up, brushing past Shik but otherwise ignoring him, before she thrust her hand into the pen to make a grab for a set of reins, pulling them out, along with her borrowed mount.
.....What the hell was it?
"SOME WEIRD FURRY s**t."
"Ya, thanks." She replied, dryly. Well, at least it didn't appear quite as mean as some of the others.
Satisfied, he tried to force it away from the crowd and into their own space to get to know one another. "Now, let's see what you're made of..." For a moment he glanced away, seeing that Shaheen was now in line to set up as well. Her mount looked less dangerous and more fluffy, which made him chuckle.
Shik didn't flinch when the wolf suddenly sprung at him in this moment of inattention. It bit hard into his arm and attempted to drag him to the ground, but Shik was a full fledged hunter and stood his ground. The tug of war wasn't as deadly as it could have been, thankfully, but it still hurt. He eventually smacked the creature on the nose to get it to let go.
And then, somewhere in the middle of all its training rundown, the wolf decided to plop its a** down. Nothing Shik did, from yelling to actively dragging at its reins worked. Sighing loudly, he cupped his mouth and called, "Oye, Shaheen! Help me with this a*****e for a second."
Ane turned Wawey towards his new opponent. He had no idea who this Hunter was, they had some sort of hood on that shaded their face enough that he just couldn't see them. He settled himself in the saddle, trying to get a good position for this particular joust. After several moments of wriggling around, he found a comfortable spot for his butt, and took a few breaths. He could see his opponent was still getting ready, they hadn't even mounted up yet, so he had time to center himself, and get ready for this fight, even if he hurt all ******** over.
When whoever the hell it was finally mounted up, Ane settled back in the saddle, and pulled the silly wooden sword up into position, ready to smack his opponent. He waited for the signal, then cried out "CHARGE, WAWEY!" And charge Wawey did. At top speed, with no real warning that he would literally launch into motion so fast. Ane was in no way ready for THAT much speed instantly, and like the unlucky man he'd been these past two jousts... He fell off Wawey and landed on his a** in the grass.
Wawey took off at high speed, barking like crazy at anyone he passed, while Ane just stared up at the sky, his face an emotionless mask of 'well ******** this s**t.' After a long minute of just laying there, refusing to move as he pondered his life, Ane slowly peeled himself off the grass and stalked BACK to the pen once again.
She was just pulling her mount away from the pen, and it moved along with her quite willingly, thankfully, when she heard the shout from a few yards off. Turning, she raised an eyebrow, distracted from the fact that the apex she was currently tethered to had gotten quite close. Very close.
Too close. She didn't even know what was happening until she felt a jerk at the back of the shirt she was wearing, and then a sudden sound of tearing fabric and....
"s**t!" She turned in an attempt to stop it from wrecking her clothing further, but in doing so only managed to have the shirt torn off of her completely.
A pause. A beat of two of silence while she glared at the foul creature, and then she turned towards Shik, her cheeks turning a few shades red beneath the bronze. "Not a word." She warned.
Moving towards Shik and his stubborn wolf-thing, she took a deep breath and said, with her best, most firm and authoritative tone, "Hey! Move." And she gave the mount a swift kick in the rear.
Now, back to her own problem not-mini pet.
Who just tore off her skirt. <********!" She yelled, now standing there in nothing more than matching gold underwear and boots.
Anepou moved back to the goddamn pen. He loved animals but ******** he was getting tired of going to the pen, getting another goddamn mount, and failing AGAIN. He decided this time he was going for something with size. He wanted more room, more ability to balance. He stared at the mounts available, and then dove into the pen to grab the reins of a large... purple thing. It appeared to have wings, and was hopping up and down as if it wanted to take off. He managed to wrangle it out of the pen, wondering in the back of his mind if he was a complete moron and about to be eaten alive by this thing. But it was too late now, he'd MADE UP HIS MIND.
He stood back, breathing heavily outside the pen, pondering the beast as the large ******** thing stared back at him. He considered, for a long time, what to call it for one thing. Feeling EVER so imaginative, he finally settled on 'Purpard.' "All right, Purpard. You and I, we're going to have an interesting time. I have NO idea if you're actually going to kill me, but hey! I picked you, it's my own damn fault."
It was entirely possible he was a little delirious after everything else that had been going on. Flight lessons had NOT been on his schedule originally today, so going flying out of two saddles were not something he was thrilled by. Maybe this time he'd be ok?

Shik was literally on the ground laughing his a** off.
Normally it was Shaboobs. Now it was Shaboobs and Shass.
Anepou found Purpard staring right back at him, it's head tilting back and forth. He found himself with the oddly uncomfortable feeling that Purpard was judging him as much as he had been judging Purpard and his many companions. Purpard turned around for a moment, looking back at the pen, and then in the direction that Wawey and Kiril had both fled in. Ane gulped, wondering if his newest mount was considering the idea that he was a horrible human who tortured animals. That was the last idea he ever wanted in an animal's mind, to be honest, so it bothered him.
Also he didn't want Purpard to decide to start stomping on him, the way Wawey had. When Purpard turned back to him, he trembled inside but refused to show his fear... That would be admitting to his terror. He was UTTERLY surprised when Purpard tilted it's head and went "Cooooooooooooorooooooooooooooo!" at him. He froze, trying to decide what this meant. He almost reached out to pet Purpard, it was SUCH a cute noise, but his brain managed to catch up to that and went "NOPE." He dropped his half raised hand and stepped back, watching Purpard again.
Purpard tilted his head back and forth again, and began to make an odd, pleased sounding rumble noise, and calmed down, completely. Ane waited, silently, for a good minute, to be sure that Purpard wasn't going to change it's mind and attack. When Purpard simply gave him a curious look, Ane grinned and mounted up.
