Vüsala was grudgingly a morning bird. He might not like waking up early, but it was when his body was trained to wake. He must have been more tired than he realized though, when he was woken by the sounds of his roommates conversing. The sound of Vanna’s voice was familiar, so the other must be the roommate that’d come in after he’d gone to sleep. Vüsala got up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and stretching. Hopefully there’d be some sort of meal, with coffee, before they set out to the ruins today.
After a hasty meal & double checking his bag, he helped wake bleary-eyed students. They gathered, and it was a short bus ride. It wasn’t long before they arrived at the ruins. Paying attention to Doctor Ketzal’s words and looking through the students to find Kanda at the same time were his priorities. Seeing her, he gave a slight smile. Looked like she was doing well among her roommates.
They were released to go into the ruins, but he wasn’t in much of a hurry so he followed behind a cherub. He had a flashlight too, but didn’t feel the need to pull it out just yet. Soft footsteps abruptly became louder and closer. Before he could react, the tiny cherub had run square into him. There was a vespercat in his arms, but his voice sounded familiar. Must be his roommate then.
“It’s fine. Are you alright?” Vusala asked because the cherub was looking pale. He set a hand on the others forehead, checking his temperature. They hadn’t been outside for long. A coatl used the opportunity to slither between his legs, hissing for his attention.

Aurora smiled at the book lover she had met in her shop a while back, she looked at the bugs and tried to remember. "I would have to look in a book to be sure, but I've never seen familiars with quiet these patterns so I'm sure that the various elements of this place influence all of them. Like animals and familiars left alone on a remote island untouched and left to evolve as nature sees fit. It's nice to see you again, did you have fun with the books and your friends?"
Aurora turned to the sounds of new voices and she smiled when she heard the hybrid happy and excited about the familiars in the area, Aurora was too. She was pretty sure she had met the hybrid in the Forbidden Forest, but she couldn't place their name. Then she was glomped, she might have been upset if it was another grimm, since she had comfort issues with her own kind. Vaguely remembering the hybrid and them being a hybrid helped a lot. She had been looking at bugs with Frit so Aurora figured this figure didn't like bugs. "It's alright they won't hurt you, I'm sure they are more afraid of you, then you are of them." Aurora said softly "I'm Aurora though I'm pretty sure we met in the Forbidden Forest." Aurora hadn't noticed the dryad yet, distracted by bugs, Frit, and being glomped.

Coco smiled at Kayla Sue and said. "These wall carvings are amazing, maybe we can just walk around and see what we find." She smiled watching Kayla Sue react to what they saw. Coco held out her arms to Kayla Sue when they ran to her afraid of a spider. "Don't worry it's ok, do you want some of this candy I found? Or we can go look at this wall carving??" She gestured to the ritual carving. She was wondering what the carving meant, could it had been for a wedding? A ceremony to speak to the nine? Coco turned to look for the doctor and asked. "What is this ritual about??"
Aedus smiled at Niamh who had also found a familiar, Aedus then wandered down a pathway where he hoped to find more cool stuff. Sadly he ended up at a dead end darn it. Aedus turned around to head back to Niamh to see what she had found if anything. He sat down carefully against a wall he took a drink of his water and admired his new friend. He was really happy already even if he didn't find any other familiars he had found this one cutie and Niamh had found one so this was a really good trip so far. "Did you find anything else?" Aedus called out to Niamh.
Hugging Coco back after the spider attacked her, K Sue steps out of her arms to take a pick of chocolate hoping it will watch the last little bit of fear out of her. "Thank you chocolate is soo yummy. " she say coving her mouth that is now full of chocolate. Looking around K Sue wonders where Aben might have gone and if he might like chocolate. Finishing her piece, K Sue adds "And I hate spiders. My Nana always kills them for me." K Sue missed her Nana really bad right now but at less Coco had been there for her. Goblin or not Coco becoming a friend to K Sue. " I would love to look at the caves some more I love art so much." K Sue smiles at the thought of her. Coco asks Dr. a question about the art on the walls. It peeks K Sues own interest so she waits for the answer as well. Not to far form where they stood was a corridor that K Sue starts to follow. Leaning in closely she could have sworn she heard a sound, but shacks it out as an echo in the cave and walks back over to Coco waiting.

14: You go down a corridor. Did you just hear something moving behind the wall?

5: You go down a corridor. There's a giant snake-looking statue here! Its tongue sticks out at you.
Frit grinned and nodded at the older nightmare. "Yes indeed!" The imp chirped in response. "Ide say i had the most impressive story, i think one of my friends didn't get a wink of sleep after that one." The imp smiled mischievously. Her eyes landed on something she had not seen before, and all attempts at being social were abandoned. There were things she needed to draw, record, and in general keep record of!
Frit had her notebook open and her pen was flying across the paper. There was just so much to jot down, record, and see. The imp was still fallowing the naga bakaneko hybrid scientist, listening to her talk with attentive ears. There was so much to learn, and so much to see. The imp stood still, her arms working furiously to both hold her notebook and then write in it too. Frit took some steps forward as she focused all her attention on the words in her journal and making them as fast as possible. There was only so much time, and only so many words that could be written within that time! The imp felt something poke her as she took another step forward, and ended up looking into the face of a giant snake. The imp let out a squeal, surprised at the sudden appearance of such a statue.

Dr. Ketzal was quite happy to see students running off already and getting into trouble, picking up familiars and grabbing the stones and candy that had been strewn about. She was simply following a path, keeping an eye out for unruly students. She noticed a student waving her over, and approached her with a small smile. She inspected the wall carvings the Demon was gesturing to. She'd studied this one countless times.
"This carving shows a coming-of-age ritual," she explained. "Although the ancient Bakeneko and Naga were nomadic, they still had religious centers, like this underground temple, and traditions. When children had grown old enough, they would be given specially-made jewelry as a symbol of their maturity. They were asked to choose a profession, much like in our society. Then they were assigned an apprenticeship." She pointed finally to an illustration of a smaller-looking Naga holding the hand of a much larger one, with wings. "The wings on this Naga symbolize their wisdom and knowledge."
Quartz recovered quickly enough, getting up and brushing the dust off her. The coatl refused to leave her leg, and after a moment of thought she shrugged and decided to leave it there. Likewise the vespercat seemed to decide it also wanted to stick with the group, and followed Quartz and Annie as they walked into the ruins and started exploring.
Like her mother and Annie, she was instantly drawn to the pictures on the wall. They were fascinating! She wondered what the ancient people had used to paint them. She brought her face as close to the wall as she could without actually touching anything. She noticed the holes with a bit of sorrow for the blemished art.
"I'd bet on it," she said, stepping back a bit to look at the whole thing. "I wonder what kind of story they're telling though?" Quartz glanced over and saw Annie staring in particular at a certain spot, then reaching out, his fingers vanishing into one of the holes, and coming out with a beautiful stone. Curious, Quartz looked back at some of the other holes again. Wait, was something in there? She started to reach, then a dry shuffling noise made her pull back. A large beetle popped its head out of the hole, then treated back into the depths.
"Best be careful where we stick our hands," Quartz said with a laugh.
Now as far away from the roped off area as he could Horus turned back to the different murals on the wall. This was probably his favorite area of history. Just looking at what past civilizations wanted to preserve. It was while he was waving down a corridor that one of the murals caught his eye. It was rather vibrant and kinda extremely detailed. If he had to bet money he would say it was an instruction manual of some kind, however what for was probably a question for the archeologist. Ah well he could always ask later.
Right now he kind of just wanted to sit here and enjoy the wall instructions a bit more.
Leto had to hide a smile. Vega was sure excited. It was actually kind of fun to watch. Sure his whole family had a love of archeology and he actually wanted to grow up to be one but it was refreshing in a way to see some one else be as excited. " well I am sure some of that has to be planted but yes it is pretty awesome you get to take little reminders of the trip back with you."
Underground though probably meant right corridors which meant more of a conscious effort to keep his wings in. Ah well it was an adventure and some times you just needed to suffer a bit when it came to adventures. Wouldn't make it any less fun,
"Well the more the merrier they say right?" Leto pointed out. " I would be okay with exploring with everyone. I'm Leto, since I met Vega on the bus yesterday it's a pleasure to meet you kanda."
He was going to mention he could understand sign due to his father but was distracted at his hand suddenly getting grabbed, which was probably a good thing when Vega almost tripped. Leto was able to at least help the Kirin keep stable or so he hoped.
" it was really no problem. I'm... yeah no problem. Perhaps though we should pick another corridor. This one seems to be roped off in a couple more feet and... are okay kanda?" Leto tried to say but noticed kanda seemed to be clutching their last roommates shorts pretty hard.
After listening to the Doctors story Coco moved to take Kayla Sue and Aben into the caves when she fell flat on her face, tripped by a pretty Coatl. She turned to pick up the familiar and said softly "There are other ways to get attention you know, I'll take you home with me so you can learn that." She turned then to show the familiar to the freshlings. The familiars of these ruins seemed to like Coco a lot for some reason. It was really strange, but Coco wasn't going to complain it made her feel warm inside and gave her ideas for art pieces.
Aurora was still listening to Frit and still glomped and then water started dripping on her, wow what the heck was going on with her luck today. She wanted to explore, learn and ask questions for her book. Instead, it was starting to feel like the forbidden forest. Aurora looked around to make sure there weren't any naughty nage or neko freshlings that were going to start throwing sticks and rocks at her which seemed to be the direction luck was going for her after she had found her familiar. After that everything seemed to be going upside down. Grumble.
