 "I'm sorry. I will subdue myself more if you prefer." It was hard to tell if she was teasing him or being serious, but her cheeks tinted a little, so she might have actually thought he was being serious. "Well, your years of practice have paid off." She gave him a faint, but encouraging smile as he spun her around. She released his hand for a moment before turning and doing a half curtsy with the sheer fabric of her skirt. "I am afraid I have no musical talent. I have read books on how to play, but never practiced." She said, stepping back in to meet him. "I dance to keep myself in shape, but I prefer to read and learn." She took his hand again as the music swelled... but then a jackalope darted under her legs. She nearly stepped on it and it ran over her foot. She stepped quite uncoordinatedly as she tried to avoid the familiar and ended up tripping on her feet, or maybe she tripped on her dance partner's feet. Either way she ended up stumbling into him. "...OH MY GOSH!" I... I'm so sorry... uhm... What... did you say your name was?"

Username: Midnightglow18 Dorm Link: Natsumi April 21st - 11 April 22nd - 2 April 23rd - 9 April 24th - 19 Total = 41  Natsumi was collecting more familiars at this dance than she was, possible dance partners but that was alright she took her kidden with her to rest and get drinks, it was there she found a flitterrat that looked like a strawberry they looked so sweet. Natsumi had never before found so many familiars at a dance or festival and she had gone to a few that had many running around just it seemed none of them wanted to pick her. She was happy to be popular at least in the fluffy world since she hadn't had any luck let finding someone to dance with her.  (Open for interaction)

"What, and make me feel like I'm a bad partner? Please don't," Ares wasn't quite sure if she was teasing back or not, but he was hoping she was. Her compliment made his grin brighten even further and he twirled her with maybe a bit too much enthusiasm. “I’m glad it finally brought a smile to your face,” he replied easily. He gave a half bow in response to her curtsy, feeling just a bit foolish for doing it in the middle of the dance floor.
“I’ve a couple different instruments, if you’d like to try one out,” the imp offered as he led them across the dance floor. "Though if I were going to teach you something, I'd be better off showing you my tinkering." Something darted by, he didn’t quite see what, but his attention was pulled abruptly into his dance partner as she tripped and stumbled into him. He took a half step back in surprise before he caught her around the shoulders. Using his tail, he steadied the both of them.
“It’s all good,” he soothed as he helped her back to her feet, his hands holding onto her shoulders. “Nothing I can't handle. I’m Ares. I never caught yours' either.” He chuckled with an easy grin, “Though I can’t say I’ve had anyone falling for me quite that fast. Are you alright?”

 Meila tilted her head "Well fate has a funny way of things, you never knew what you were meant to do, not what you meant to do." She said simply. Then she held out the stone to the other junior and said. "You can have it if you wish I don't mind, I doubt it would be useful for divination anyways." Then Meila spotted a plushie she liked she picked it up and dusted it off wondering if a freshling had dropped the toy since she had seen a few running around at the dance. "I am Meila." She added absently.

 Lis continued to observe the dance when she saw a demon adult approach her with a slice of cake. "Maybe you'd like to try my treat?"
"It's from that cake over there! This bottom tier is fairy flossed flavoured," Lis smiled at the demon. "Sure I'll try some." She said as she took the cake from her. She lifted the cake up to her face and looked at the soft cake. It smelled pretty good, super sugary but good. She picked up the fork that had rested on the side of the plate and took a small bite. "You made this? It's good. what flavors are the other tiers?" She asked the pink and blue demon.

Wren walked around the edge of the dance floor. She eventually made it to the table with a cake and other goodies on it. Seeing a bag of blue candies. She grabbed one happily, thinking of sharing them with her siblings.

 Eirian arrived at the dance she stopped looking at the plushies she was having trouble deciding which one she wanted, she finally decided on the gray plushie with the pretty flower markings. She picked the plushie up and thanks the litch who was working at the booth. Then she went out to the dance floor to watch the other students dancing. She considered asking someone to dance but that would require letting someone into her personal space and Eirian wasn't sure she was comfortable with that she felt like she needed someone she trusted a great deal to let them in.

 Turnip took a deep breath he was nervous and uncomfortable he wasn't a big fan of the dress pants and button down shirt he was wearing for the dance. Also, the idea of dance made him nervous as well, it was more fun to look through an old house for a spirit than it was to go to a school dance and maybe dance with someone. He sat down and pulled at the collar of his dress shirt, his adopted mom Aloe had encouraged him to go to the dance even though he really didn't want to and Turnip hadn't managed to tell her no so here he was.

 Alice was cheerful she had arrived at the academy so she could take a break from her business studies and dance for a while she grabbed a bag of candy and sat down on the other side of the room watching the others dancing while she decided who she wanted to ask to dance with her. Alice wondered if she would meet someone special since had yet to met anyone at the university that had caught her eye. She hope, very much so, she wanted to imbue stones sometime soon. Her mind wandered on that would she be comfortable with hybrid children or would she want to imbue alone or with another kumiho??

 Cesian wasn't all too keen on attending the dance. He would have much rathered be at home looking over papers or getting a lesson ready for the next school day. However, he had been convinced by his fellow teachers that it might be a good time to learn about the culture here. It wasn't as much of an interest as it had been for others of his kind, but he was a mentor here and knowing what he was dealing with was probably a smart idea. Or, he tried to convince himself, anyhow, but all the music was a bit much for his taste so he tried to find a quieter place to sit where he could watch.

 Odessa hadn't been to the Academy in quite some time. Most of the time when she and Kara had wanted to talk they'd go to a local cafe or restaurant. However, it had been tradition for the two of them to spend festivals together, and in honor of that, the two of them had decided to meet up yet again. "Hey, Kara~!" She gave a slight wave, a giggle in her throat.  Kara was very happy when Odessa had agreed to spend the festival with her. It had been a while since she had seen her friend since both of them had been so busy. She smiled wide when she saw Odessa waiting for her by the entrance.

"F-falling... Falling for you?!" Her cheeks flamed red. "Oh... oh!" She got the joke. "I'm sorry." She looked at him a moment more before looking around to see what she had tripped over. She spotted the orange jackalope as it hopped over near Ares's guitar and the three familiars she assumed were his. After a moment she realized her hands were still placed on him in a less then dance partner fashion and she pulled back. "Oh ah ha... I uhm..." She floundered a moment. "Nashira." She finally said. "My name is Nashira. It's a pleasure to meet you." She was trying to recover from her little tumble. "You aren't a bad dance partner, so don't think that. I'm just a little out of my element around so many people. I'm sorry, Ares." She fidgeted with her jewelry as he suggested she play an instrument with him. The thought had merit, as it would be something new to try. "I'm not sure I'd be any good at playing music, but I could give it a try. But tinkering? Do you mean like building things?" When she thought of tinkers, she thought of wind up toys and music boxes. "I would be fascinated to see them."

Username: irishgirl1017 Dorm Link: Eberly Walking towards the little blue freshling that caught their eye they heard a small noise and turned to see what it was. When they turned back around to continue on to speak to the little freshling they were gone.
"Hmm must be tired or bored" they thought to themselves. Shrugging they continued on looking about the hall taking in all the decorations and students that surrounded them. Inspiration striking they decided to call it an early evening and return to their studio to paint or sculpt. Snrk. He couldn't help but snort a little at her expression. He couldn't help it, she looked so dismayed at the idea. Waving off her apology, Ares idly observed her hands. She was almost cupping his chest, but her grip was a bit too strong for that. It didn't particularly hurt, per say, but it wasn't the most pleasant feeling. One lip quirked up in an amused half smile.
"Nice to meet you, too, Nashira. Would you prefer to go somewhere a bit quieter to chat?" They were, after all, in the middle of the dance floor. Nobody was giving them looks yet, but if they didn't do something soon they would be. He released her shoulders as she stepped back. He liked crowds, being in them, having them, so it didn't bother him any.
"It's more about having fun with the instrument than being good at it. After all, if you're doing something you love, then you're more likely to practice and get better at it," he enthused. "I say tinker, because that's what I'm doing most of the time. Tinkering with what other people have done. I have made several things of my own: a plushie cannon, several robots of various capacities, a couple music boxes. There's probably even a couple small toys in there. Along with a handful of other projects I've got in the works. " Oh boy, could he go on about his favorite hobby. Nashira had probably opened up a whole can of worms she never could have expected with that one.

Oh... Oh he looked as though he was teasing her. She put on a smile as he released her shoulders and she attempted to smooth out her clothes. "The pleasure is mine, Ares." She did mean that too. He was already fascinating. "You do sound like you love music." She nodded. Ah, stepping outside where it was quiet sounded nice. "Yes. Why don't we step outside a moment and get some air." She was smiling a little more easily now. "I don't see the harm in attempting to play something, if you'd care to teach me. I do enjoy learning new things." She held her hand to him once again so they could step out. "You do sound passionate about what you do. Tinkering sounds fascinating. A plushie cannon? Does it work?" She was actually quite curious. And music boxes? She loved music boxes. They were quite delicate looking and the sounds they produced... "I would quite like to see sometime, if you're alright with showing me."
