With so few Unown types left to catch, Yin had to pay a bit more attention now to take notice of any they still needed. Nevermoor did her job splendidly without much trouble, each gush of wind sending the psychics flying before they fell to the floor. The disguised fox caught sight of an "R"-shaped one just before it fell out of sight, and quickly chucked yet another pokeball to catch it. That only left four to go.

Unfortunately, the next salvo was a little disappointing, even when considering the last few catches were often only one out of a group of five. Nothing but a hoard of types they'd already caught before. Even if their chances inevitably got lower with each catch, it was still a touch annoying having to deal with each disappointment.

The vulpine standing in for her trainer tapped her foot impatiently as each familiar Unown came flying at them. There were just a few more to go, but at this rate it seemed like they wouldn't find a new form anytime soon. Nevermoor was beginning to reach the limit of what she could gain from all of this as well, which meant they'd either need to switch out or find something more productive for her to do.

She'd just been distracted, it wasn't like it was intentional, and the unown had shifted the building's design on her. "Why'd you have to go and change the layout on me anyways? This is all your fault." Isis huffed. She felt mostly like she was just talking to herself, venting her frustrations, but then suddenly, she heard a response. "Is that so?" Isis blinked, squinting in the darkness and just making out a familiar figure. "Wait, Andreas?" She wasn't sure whether to feel relieved or terrified with Andreas here, keeping her company. At least, Isis was pretty sure it was Andreas, but it seemed kind of odd that she'd shown up here. Then again, Isis wouldn't put it past the woman. She really was.... Something.
s**t, speaking of Andreas, weren't they planning a party for Zero's birthday before her xtransceiver got waterlogged? Had she been missing her texts? "Look, if you're here for the birthday plans, I can explain--" Isis gave an apologetic smile, holding her hands up. "Mm, we should continue that conversation, but that's not why I'm here." Isis relaxed a bit. "Oh, okay, phew. What are you doing here then?" Andreas crossed her arms and gave Isis a hard look. "The better question is what are you doing here?" Isis looked uncomfortable. "Oh... Well, I was on a date with Leon, my boyfriend, and.... He suggested we come here." Andreas continued to stare at Isis, she could feel the older woman's gaze piercing her soul, as if she knew that wasn't the answer. Not the real one anyways. Isis could only smile weakly. "Well, it's true." Partly anyways. "Just admit it. The sooner you do, the better you'll feel." Isis attempted to move past Andreas and brush her off. "I don't know what you're talking about. There's nothing more to tell." Isis insisted, shaking her head.
Unfortunately, it wouldn't be that easy to escape. Isis very quickly found herself face to face with Andreas again, and she didn't even know how. In the time she took to re-orient herself, two unown flew in and began dancing around the room curiously. "So there's no allure for the ability to grant wishes with the power of these little guys? You haven't been trying to catch them for that purpose?" Isis frowned and watched as Hylia dispatched the first unown easily, and Isis noticed it was one that she had yet to collect. There was no point in retraining herself now, Andreas already knew, it seemed. Tossing a pokeball at the fallen unown, Isis quickly captured it while Hylia took out the second. "Alright, I do want a wish granted, if the rumors are true...." Andreas seemed content with their progress, but the interrogation was far from over. "And what would you wish for?" Isis hesitated. "I...." There was a lot of things she wanted to wish for. She felt like she was back at the tanabata, at the wishing tree, clinging to some small stupid hope that maybe, if she wished hard enough, her wish would come true.
However, that had been a tree, these were psychic pokemon, guardians, gatekeepers. Surely they might be able to make her wishes come true? Determined, Isis caught the second unown, deciding to ignore the question. A third unown flew in as Andreas spoke again. "Let me ask a different question... If you make your wish, are you sure you'll get what you want?" This question seemed harder to answer, especially since it wasn't what it seemed at face value, and Isis knew it. Would bringing Ebony back really be the right decision, even if the unown could somehow make it happen? Were there any potential unforeseen consequences? Isis didn't know. More than once she had tried to make rash decisions that tampered with powers she didn't understand. She had tried to use Hinata to travel across time, she had tried to pray to Jirachi's tree to wish for Ebony back, now she was trying to capture unown and use their power. She was getting desperate. "I don't know... I just... I know she didn't deserve to die. I shouldn't have pushed her so hard, I should have returned her to her pokeball sooner so that she didn't try and protect us from the debris... I'm not.... Worth dying for..." Isis whispered, hesitating to capture the third unown even after Hylia took it out. "That's not for you to decide." Isis winced and threw her pokeball, but it missed, her aim thrown off by her confidence being shaken. "Like it or not, your pokemon care about you, so do many people. They're willing to make sacrifices because of that." Isis cursed quietly under her breath, trying to tune Andreas out as she threw another pokeball, but it missed as well.
Gritting her teeth, Isis simply approached the unown and tapped it with another pokeball. It was knocked out after all, so she could just walk over and capture it up close instead of throwing pokeballs at it. Andreas stared at Isis for a moment and sighed. "You just have to learn the hard way, don't you?" Isis turned to give Andreas a curious look, only to see that she had released Spirit, her lucario. The same one Zero had shown her a video of, the one he had used for that contest performance. In the blink of an eye, it had rushed over to her and slammed her into the wall. "Augh!" Isis wanted to ask what the hell Andreas was doing, but all she could muster was a cough, her body aching from the sudden impact. Then suddenly, a low guttural growl split through the cave and a streak of white knocked Spirit away with a full bodied tackle. Isis slumped to the floor, catching her breath. She hadn't even realized until now that the wind had been knocked out of her.
Spirit had been caught off guard by Atona's sudden appearance, but afterwards, the white lucario couldn't land a single hit in his frenzied attacks. Not to mention Spirit didn't even seem bothered by the first even though it had been a surprise. There wasn't even a scratch on it's body. "Atona..." Isis breathed, watching helplessly as he tried to drive Spirit away from Isis, but each time Atona lunged forward, Spirit easily dodged and countered before going after Isis again, only to be intercepted by Atona, and the cycle would continue. ✿ ❀

With her patience largely wearing thin, Yin seemed to tire of just standing back and waiting for something new to pop up. And so, a short, dark-haired girl suddenly ran into a hallway of psychic-types, swiping them out of the air before any could react.

With Pursuit keeping her a little faster than the Unown's reaction speed, Yin had little trouble busying herself striking them out of the air. With her illusion still active, it looked as if a trainer were literally punching them out of the air, with streaks of black trailing behind them. She made sure not to chase them too far though, lest she get lost like Isis, and kept herself within range of Nevermoor's extending reach over in the darkness.

Despite the Zorua getting into the action herself, she still struggled to find any new Unown letters. Fortunately, a cathartic beating of the various floating psychics kept her temperament a little more even. If she couldn't find one yet, she'll just have to keep swinging until she did, and step back closer to the group whenever her opponents tried leading her deeper into the halls.

One after another, the crowd of psychic types began to thin, making it easier for the fox to pick out one variant from the other. Yin's eyes had a glint of smugness when she spotted the last few letters they needed, dashing towards the weak pokemon and taking them out one by one. She had to strike a few more to get to them, but when the illusion came within arms reach, it was all over. One after the other, four fell to the ground, chased down by red-and-white orbs that dragged them inside.
She grinned triumphantly as the rest scattered down the hall, scurrying away and leaving her to retrieve the orbs before the path disappeared. As soon as Yin backed out, the wall shut closed, as if there hadn't been anything there to begin with. She took count of all the psychics they'd caught thus far, checking one last time that they had everything. "Hey, dumbass," She called out, craning her neck to look back at Zero. "We've got the whole alphabet. Stop dancing with your boyfriend there and let's figure out what they do."

Inari shifted so that she was controlling both of Leon's legs and both Zero's legs, the spare tail now waggling behind her in amusement as she made the two males dance. Leon was very unamused by this. "It seems Ruunyx really can use their tails to take over and puppet other beings..." Leon grumbled, hand to his face while he had no control over his legs. He had doubted the dex entry, since to be fair, there were quite a lot of dex entries based on myth. And with how mysterious this odd little pokemon was, he figured it might have been a rumor. Unfortunately, not this time.
Meanwhile, Ren took down 5 more unown, two of which Leon managed to capture despite not being able to control his legs. It seemed that Zero's pokemon were quite busy meanwhile, and Leon scowled as Zero's disguised zorua made it known that Zero had completed his set of unown already. Though the scowl was mostly due to the fox's dancing comment, he was disappointed that he wasn't closer to completing his collection himself. He still had 9 left to capture before he completed the quest.

The young, silver-haired trainer didn't seem any more pleased with the situation than Leon was, getting somewhat frustrated when his attempts to regain control over his legs went nowhere. "The dex say anything about getting away from their tails?" He asked, now staring down at Inari. The fox seemed far too happy with what was happening to just let them go just by asking, and this was far from a position he'd like to be in.
At the very least though, he didn't have to worry about collecting the Unown anymore. He turned his head when Yin announced that they had every type captured, coming out on top in their little self-imposed race... Assuming Isis hadn't been catching up a storm the whole time since she disappeared. Either way, that cleared up one thing, at least. He'd have to wait till they got back up to the surface to ask Scathach if they've done enough, but until then, he'd just have to stick with Leon and hope the guy doesn't get lost down the shifting corridors.
Although, despite this, a part of him was a little disappointed to find that nothing happened upon capturing all the Unown types. Even if he had his doubts, he sort of expected there to be something that might happen once so many were taken out of the system. Wish or not, he couldn't really tell if anything had changed at all.

It was taking quite a lot out of Leon to refrain from snapping at Inari for her actions. Even though she apparently had found some amusement in this, he had doubts it was out of malicious intent. "Unfortunately, no. Zero let out a sigh as Leon reported the pokedex's lack of information. It was pretty clear that the fox had no intention of letting them go unless there was something more fun to do as an alternative, leaving the young man at a loss for what to do. When a sudden movement between them caused Leon's dex to fall from his hand, he did make an attempt to grab it--More out of reflex than any conscious desire to help--but he was still quite limited by the position Inari had them in. He grasped at empty air just short of the device, unable to stop it from tumbling to the earth below them. "Nova," he finally called out, craning his neck to look at his Gardevoir. "You got any ideas?"
"Little beyond just asking 'please'," she replied, now back at her trainer's side. Nova kneeled down to be level with Inari, her dress splaying out across the floor and spreading inky stars in all directions. "Come on now, Inari, we all need to get moving. If you let go of Leon and Zero, we'll let you play with Nevermoor," She lowered her voice to a whisper so that the Darkrai would not hear her, even as the shadows began to stretch and distort the light once again.

She couldn't do this again, not after that ball where she'd seen Atona's illusion get beaten into a bloody oblivion. Surprisingly, Isis didn't feel the impact she expected from Spirit. "Do you see now? How hypocritical you're being?" Andreas' image asked calmly. "You give so much to people and pokemon you care about, why can't you let them do the same for you?" Isis sniffed as Atona returned her embrace. His hold was weak, but he was still here with her. "I just... I don't know... I don't know why I can't accept it. People will compliment me all the time, but I never feel like I can believe them. I mean... Kai grumbled as the unruly fox opted to ignore him, preparing to pull her away by force if need be. However, Nova had stepped in to give negotiating another shot. Inari fixed her gaze on the gardevoir as she spoke directly to her, making an offer in exchange for her to stop puppeting the two trainers. The fox tilted her head, considering the offer for a moment before giving a yip, yanking all her tails out of the boys' shadows to wag behind her. She barked affirmatively, accepting this deal of Nova's. She very much wanted to play with the darkrai.
As soon as Leon's control over his legs was back to him, he lost balance and fell to the floor. He was not amused, but took this opportunity to pick up his dex before getting back on his feet. With a soft smile, Nova rose back to her feet, happy that they managed to come to a conclusion that resolved their issue. Now everyone would be happy... Well, except Nevermoor, but it'd do the legendary to make some more friends. Unaware of the deal that went down, the Darkrai had begun returning to her initial state, stinking into the shadows and extending her reach to a large portion of the hallway they were in, distorting the darkness. "You're welcome," she replied back.
Once freed, Zero nearly lost his balance as well. His legs weren't quite used to being able to move on their own again, but unlike Leon, he did manage to stop himself before he fell to the ground. He struggled to keep it for a moment, arms flailing once or twice to tilt himself back, but ultimately he managed to replant his feet firmly on the ground, sighing with relief now that he could move freely again. "Good work, all of you," He told the trio who was out, offering a hand to help the lifeguard up before he got back up.
"I guess now we've just gotta figure out what these things do before we can go find Isis," he thought aloud, as Yin drew close with all of her caught Unown in tow. He really did have all twenty-eight types now, huh? He wasn't entirely certain how many he'd need in order to sufficiently "unscramble" the ruins, but between him, Leon, and Isis, they were probably pretty close to being done.
