Elliot did not seem too concerned with everything that was going around him, simply admiring the chess piece that he had knocked off the pedestal. Just what kind of game are you playing at anyway, mom? There's gotta be a reason you left all of this up to chance, if you even did that. I mean, there's no way you'd just let me get put on a team with random people right? You're way too careful to let anything like that happen. So why? He thought to himself, turning the rook in his hand around and around, trying to think of some reason that the test had been set up this way. If his mother had planned everything out so carefully as to even list which mentors he should seek out and avoid after getting placed on a team, then surely she would have accounted for something like this. And if not, then is it Ozpin that's making all of this like this? Does that mean that the mentors might just be random chance too? He thought to himself, wondering if his mother was even aware of how some of the inner-working of things were.

It was then that everyone seemed to be a bit on edge, and Opal announced to everyone that a horde of Grimm was approaching them. Elliot turned a bit to look in the direction everyone was staring at, and then he began to contemplate a little bit. There was something about the terrain of the forest... something that was odd. Remember... He thought to himself, trying to remember the time that they were all flying through the air. Thinking back, he had caught sight of this place but just thought it was a bunch of rock pillars that were coincidentally aligned. He had figured it was something to cause misdirection. And then, above here, there was something else that stood out to him. "Ah!" He sounded off, having remembered what he had seen. The young man, however, had been so distracted he had not seen what was going on around him. The Grimm had gone unnoticed by him, and the arrival of two more students had also gone mostly unnoticed. When he looked up, however, he did take note that those two students had arrived. Noir, however, remained unnoticed by him since Elliot was not facing his direction.

"I don't think that we can just wait here and make this place safe for any of the other students. They got into the academy, so I'm sure they'll find a way to deal with whatever Grimm stick around this place. We gotta head out though. They're obviously being drawn towards us for some reason, so it's better we clear out and lead them away." Elliot stated, turning his attention towards Opal since she was the one that stated that they probably could not run. "I may not be good at thinking ahead pretty far, but I do have an idea. I saw some ruins a little ways north of here. I'm sure if we ran that way we'd manage to reach them before those things caught up." He began, trying to show some sort of calmness in his demeanor as well. "The walkways looked pretty narrow and dilapidated. I'm sure we could use that to our advantage and cut them off by destroying some of the walkways. That'd slow them down and probably leave fewer Grimm to fight. After that, it's really just how well we can keep em off us." Elliot explained, trying to help formulate some sort of plan.

                                        • spaceSage noticed that the rabbit faunus was alerted by something, her eyes trained in the distance. He turned to look over his shoulder but didn't see anything. Maybe she just had better hearing. Opal said that they would have company shortly and they should prepare to fight. Sage glanced at the group to see what the consensus would turn out to be. He would willingly run into battle, but if they decided to try and escape, he wouldn't argue. Though, this didn't seem like the type of group to run away from a fight. Noir's committed speech of giving them a run for their money made Sage glad they were partners. He grinned and nodded, showing his agreement with Noir's sentiment. Shortly after Opal's announcement, though, something broke through the trees behind them. A Grimm... a small beowolf? Was it a puppy? He didn't think Grimm... bred.

spaceThe silver-haired knight drew his scythes and put them in front of his chest and face, "Noir! Get out of the way!" But before he could even finish his sentence, the Grimm was bounding for Noir, jumping into his partner's arm. Something was off about the creature: it had the same markings of a regular Grimm, but it was blue instead of red. Why was that? Sage had never seen that before. Noir's seeming ease with the situation was all too confusing. 'Why is he talking to it? And why is it acting like a dog?' He was so drawn to the situation that he barely registered the other two people coming upon the scene. How would they react to the oddly tame Grimm?

spaceSage lowered his defenses slightly, but was still aware of whatever Opal was trained on. They would have to fight something sometime. He never drew his eyes away from Noir, though, feeling responsible for his partner's safety. It wasn't until Elliot started speaking that Sage pulled his attention away. His plan seemed solid, but still he would wait to see what the group agreed to. He took a moment to look at the new pair of teammates, now, remembering they had arrived a moment ago. The one with purple hair was picking up their relic, but something about the pink-haired one seemed... familiar. Her armor seemed specific to a family he couldn't quite remember. Sage chose to ignore it for now, instead focusing on the task at hand: the approaching Grimm.

                                      • spaceOpal looked to Hildr when she mentioned two others and not leaving them to fend for themselves; she nodded in agreement. She could appreciate the other girl's sense of justice. It was something Opal shared. Noir spoke then, agreeing with them as well, and soon everyone else was joining in on the conversation. Well, except Sage. He seemed content with whatever was chosen. The redhead smiled at her partner, holding her fist ahead of her chest as they did last night, silently voicing their "let's not give up" pact. As the group was preparing for their fight, a few branches breaking in the trees behind them made Opal straighten out again. Her grip tightened around her javelin. A few second later, and a Grimm broke through the treeline.

spaceThe faunus' face grew serious as it beelined for Noir and she lifted Andraste, ready to throw it at any given second. She only paused when the creature jumped onto Noir and blocked her view of it. She saw a few others tense and ready themselves for a fight, but soon Noir began talking to the thing, saying it should stay. Opal never lowered her weapon, eyes trained on Noir and ready to attack. Even if her peer said the tiny creature was friendly, Opal could never bring herself to trust one. What sense did that make? Even if it looked different, it wasn't. Before the redhead could voice her opposition, the final team arrived, breaking the tension with a rather nonchalant question. Opal turned briefly to look at the pair, "I wish I knew the story, myself. That pup is the least of our worries, though. We have a horde coming for us." The pink-haired girl Noir was chatting with last night, and a boy with purple hair, moved to choose their relic. Rather than say anything more, Opal gazed back at Noir and the small Grimm. Her demeanor changed, then, and she felt incredibly unsafe. Why was it liking Noir's face like they knew each other? It was odd.

spaceOpal gave Carmine a look, her face saying she wasn't fond of the situation, then she stared back out towards where the Grimm horde was coming from. She heard the pink-haired girl ask, rather rudely, what they were doing. Opal ignored her. She would rather let someone else answer rather than expend her energy conversing with such a person. When Elliot started speaking, though, Opal turned her attention to him. "That sounds like a good plan, Elliot. If you can lead us there, we can probably split up and make it easier to fight multiple opponents. It would do us no good to be herded in like cattle. The more space we have to move, the better our chances of winning this battle." She agreed with the other's plan, nodding before she responded to him. Elliot seemed calm under pressure; it was a good feature on a Hunter. She looked back to the distance, hitting the button on Andraste, letting it form to her fist as she looked back to the group. If it came down to it, she could use her semblance to stall their enemies. She would just have to make sure she was at the back of the group so it wouldn't affect the others.

space"I'll take up the rear, ready when you all are." She waited for the others to hear and agree to, or add on to, their plan. Elliot was right. Leading the beasts away from these ruins was better than leading unsuspecting peers into a huge battle. The disadvantage for Opal, though, was that she was unfamiliar with Vale's terrain. She would have to rely on the others to lead her to their destination, and Opal didn't like to be led. The only thing keeping her from it was the possibility of needing her semblance. The safety of the group was more important than her ego. The faunus cracked her fingers and flexed her gauntlet-clad hand, ready to fight, eager to see everyone else in action. This way, at least everyone would know what the others were capable of.

Noir Alcott

Noir was asked a question by two new arrivals, he had to think fast to explain his situation as the little guy was hiding behind him by holding to his shoulders. His mind began to race to think of a situation and all he can think is back to the forest and then an idea hit him like one of those vehicles on tracks. "Well, I been seeing these kind of grimm all over the place back home in the forest battling the red marked grimm. They are numbered very much evenly back home unlike here where it is only red marked grimm's." Noir rubbed the back of his head while the beopuppy looked over his shoulder with worried eyes. Especially with a spear pointed at him by opal, it made since due to the small guy was a grimm but it worries him still due to the fact it didn't hurt no one and it is still treated like a treat.

However, his attention was changed to what Elli is planning. Due to that, he became more curious as Elli was mumbling his plan until he figured out one. Noir looked the same way where the plan was talking about then he got an idea of his own that may help the plan, "Hey Elli, in case something happens. Should a small group of us act as decoy's, in case something happens to thin out the group, I volunteer as one of them. One thing I learned, never always stick with one plan, always have many back-ups." He then smiled with a goofy grin, but this time the beopuppy howled in cheer in agreement, even though no one can tell he is smiling. However, in his mind he is worried, not like worried about the little guy's safety or the team because he knows they can get out of this safely. It's his own due to the fact he was almost too close for his secret to come out and he needs to be around Oz as he does so he doesn't get hurt or worse or else he feels he may end up at the end of a sword.

"Heh, what? Not the horse. I'm talkin' about the knight, miss shining armor," Mauve explained with a grin. Guess she's never played before. With how huffy she was last night, I assumed Crimson would be a bit more...prickly than this. She's definitely straight-forward, if anything. Seemed like everyone was a similar amount of confused regarding the blue grimm as Mauve. The red-haired rabbit faunus was the one to give him a voiced answer. Unfortunately, he didn't hear the pinned one's guess about the blue grimm. The faunus girl's final statement caught him off guard and demanded his attention. A horde? There wasn't anything that had led him to that conclusion on their way here. This girl seemed pretty focused, though. Her instincts must be better than mine. She's pretty on edge. Glancing toward the density of the forest, Mauve scanned the area. Nothing. Not like his fellow newbie would have any reason to lie to him. With a shrug, he placed the relic in his pocket and readied his weapon. "Welp, if you say so." The young man was about to ask if Crimson was up to fighting when another male voice spoke, a little deeper than his own. This dark-haired guy seemed to have some sort of plan.

Drawn toward us, huh? How? No one seems too upset. Sure, things like stress and anxiety, hell, even some fear, can attract a beowolf or two, no one here seems distraught enough to signal a giant horde. I wonder why... This guy may have been on to something. His plan wasn't half-bad, either. Using a disheveled area as a means to cut themselves off from the main chunk of grimm was pretty decent. "Huuuhhnn? No way. Are you the type of person who's bad at commitment?" his voice cut through the air. Mauve recognized the next guy to speak as the one nice enough to check up on Crimson last night in the ballroom. Did he really expect a fraction of this group to take out an entire horde of grimm? They didn't even know what this thing consisted of! "It'll be hard enough to deal with a group as big as she's suggesting," he explained, nodding toward the redhead with the gauntlet. "While I agree Plan B is usually best plan, you're talking possible suicide. If we get cut off along with the grimm, what then? We'll be more effective together." Honestly. The whole no guts no glory thing was real dignified and all that, but getting taken out on the first day was way too embarrassing a thought. There was also the issue of Crimson's injuries. Separately, the students would easily be overtaken. Whether they survived or not, he was worried she may take more damage.

"Elli, was it?" Mauve asked, looking back to the plan man. "Sounds solid. We'll totally have a better chance of taking them out if we dwindle their numbers. Crimson! You good for another jog?" The boy smiled wide at his new partner, giving her a thumbs up. The idea of the implied amount of grimm before them was daunting, but it was important Mauve keep his cool. How did he expect anyone else to be calm in a situation if even he couldn't?

((So many posts to read through gonk ))

Hildr became aware of the oncoming Grimm, especiall the singular beopup that arrived out of nowhere with blue eyes instead of grim, an instant oddity that she noticed immediately. But it didn't change the way she acted, she had pulled out her spear when it jumped at Noir, who barely even reacted to stop it. Instead of a gruesome fight, the Grimm creature acted like a dog around Noir. Hildr raised one brow and cocked a hand on her hip, what kind of Grimm is that? she thought to herself as Noir mentioned keeping the critter. She wasn't exactly open to the idea, it could be a Grimm in disguise, but with recent events surrounding the humanoid Grimm she wasn't sure how to feel. Instead of saying anything, she remained silent for the time being regarding that matter. That was when, as if right on cue, the other two students arrived. One was a young... boy- girl. She wasn't sure, and they were accompanied by the Heiress to Nihility and Hyperbole, someone that Hildr was aware of. The two seemed to insert themselves into the group rather quickly, especially Crimson, who Hildr noticed might be difficult to speak with.

Elliot finally voiced his thoughts on the oncoming Grimm still yet to arrive, and Hildr suspected the others won't be like that pup with the strange blue eyes. He had a good point, too, either way it looked like they were gonna be making a move from the temple to find a better position. Hildr admired him for his leadership skills, taking control of the situation with an idea, even if he didn't believe in himself to be very organised. He was good at thinking on the spot nonetheless. Ruins, cliffs, sheer drops, broken bridges, it all sounded pretty typical for an initiation. Hildr had trained for the unexpected, at least to this extent, she felt confident this plan would work. Opal was next to speak, replying to Elliot and Hildr couldn't help but give a nod to agree with her. "The ruins it is then." Hildr stated, watching Opal change her weapon into fist mode. "I'll stick with you" Hildr said, wanting to make sure the others got ahead before herself. She flicked her wrist and Herja shifted into sniper mode, she exchanged a glance with Opal, nodding again. Noir then came back into the conversation with the idea of a backup. Alarm bells began to ring in the back of Hildr's mind, worrisome fears of her Semblance coming into action. "No-" Hildr said, ".. sorry" she said with with a forced smile towards Elliot for interrupting before he could speak. "We should split equally should the situation occur. If you do become decoy, the most mobile of us should be able to... pick you up and get you back to the rest of us. There's no good pulling the attention of one nevermore for example towards a single one of us. It will pick you off and inevitably come for the rest of us." That was when Mauve interjected with his response, luckily being similar to that of hers.

Finally, Hildr turned back to Elliot, automatically thinking of him as the leader of sorts right now, or was it just the fact he was son of Glynda. Hildr tried not to think about it.

~The Heiress to Nihility and Hyperbole~

Crimson had taken the few moments of discussion on a plan, to observe the others in the group. Shooting a particular look to Hildr and especially Sage. Something about his armour, his general aura about him, and her looks, ... nows not the time to look into that. Crimson looked to Mauve and gave a sort of forced but weak smile of confidence. "Provided it's not too much further, my feet are killing me, all this scuttle and whatnot is bad for my hair as it is." She said rather properly holding a small braid of hair in her gauntlet kneading it some. Although that was a blatant lie. As the red aura around her leg was fairly prominent now and easily seen. Favoring it just a bit.

She did look to the others and to Opal at her suggestion of taking up rear guard. Crimson made a slightly crooked mouth. "You would do well to not be alone in that. Everyone should partner up while moving like this, we may end up split up again, all of us." Looking back to her new obvious comrade Mauve with a small nod. Noting that she was ready to go. Taking a side step closer a bit awkwardly.

β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–± Opal's uneasy gaze wasn't lost on Carmine. She wasn't all too happy with this either. If these sort of grimm existed in the Emerald Forest or had a concentration in an area that Glynda had visited, then shouldn't word of these things have hit somewhere? It was likely she may have forgotten if she'd heard about such a thing, but everyone else had seemed ready to attack as well. This creature made her uneasy. Carmine made a mental note to take it down if the situation at all changed. That was when Elliot spoke up, having a plan for taking out the coming group.

From reminiscing to the security detail, there were quite a good number of things Carmine learned about Elliot the past couple days. He was generally of pleasant disposition, reckless, and his plans usually worked. Very few people could pull off the sorts of things mentioned. I'll have to trust Elliot and the mood and hope he's not up to anything extra. It was then that Noir suggested another group stay behind as decoy. While it didn't sound like a bad idea, there was a hint of doubt that sparked in her eyes. Even she could feel it now, the presence of the oncoming group. Carmine wasn't usually one for running away, but a group this large would quickly overtake a few students. With such tension in the air, the small grimm's howl took the poor girl by surprise, making her nearly jump out of her skin. The sudden noise earned both the creature and Noir a disapproving glare, though it was mostly to hide her embarrassment. Luckily, Hildrr and the purple-haired member of the slower group were quick to speak up about the instability of Noir's suggestion. At the same time, it seemed Hildrr and Opal were both prepared to take up the rear.

It was a little sad. When it came down to it, Carmine would've preferred to have been closer to Opal for a little longer. They had barely gotten to fight together, after all, but perhaps this was a blessing in disguise. An uneven amount of people at one end or the other of a group could lead to downfall. Despite being happy and willing to fill whatever position was needed, she'd much rather hit hard and hit first. She gave Opal a reassuring grin and nodded. They were already promised to be on the same team. Besides, there was one other person whose fighting style she'd been dying to see. "Elliot! I'm right behind you on this one. Just let me know where you need me." Switching her pistol to to her right hand, she gave a thumbs-up with her left. For a moment, Carmine had considered going all-out, but it'd be unfortunate if something happened on the aforementioned walkways where a free hand would be needed. Just as she returned Tyrfing to its usual hand,
an ear-piercing screech echoed out over the trees. "Either way, we need to move. Now," the young woman growled through gnashed teeth.

"I'll protect everyone including you. Nothing is going to get in the way of that, not even me." β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°β–±β–°

Seems like everyone's willing to go through with the plan. Elliot thought to himself, smiling as he looked out over the group that had formed before him. Total, there was eight of them. With that much firepower, it was only a matter of separating the Grimm into groups so that they could deal with them effectively. Noir seemed ready to run off and be a decoy for some reason, yet most of the people around him told him not to do it and scolded him for the suggestion. I guess everyone's pretty serious about that kind of stuff. Well, sacrificing yourself's only cool in the movie anyway. Nothing good about dying young. Elliot thought to himself, finding himself agreeing with the other people around him. The fact that they were starting to become familiar with him as "Elli," however, slightly irked him for some reason. Maybe it was because the name sound extremely feminine or something of the sort? Either way, Elliot did not find any comfort in being called such a thing, especially not by strangers.

Carmine's sudden shouting of his name, however, startled him from his thoughts, and the young man quickly turned towards her. "R-Right! I'll do my best then!" He stated, a bit shocked everyone was pairing up with each other suddenly. Additionally, he was mostly expecting everyone to look out for themselves, so the sudden addition of a teammate caused him to worry he might not be able to just wing it as much as he wanted to. "Just make sure you can keep up with me, alright?" Elliot joked around with Carmine, trying to get a little bit of a reaction as he turned away from the group. "The ruins are over this way if I'm remembering right. After everyone gets across the walkway, you guys in the back make sure to destroy the path so that the Grimm will have to separate themselves. That should keep the Ursa and the Boarbatusk from getting to us easily. The Beowolves will still be a problem though if there are any." Elliot explain as he looked back towards everyone. Once his speech was over with, however, he turned around and made a mad dash towards the ruins.

For Elliot, moving through the area was pretty easy considering his agility and his reflexes. Dodging out of the way of roots and the like were just second nature to him as he ducked, weaved, and vaulted over various plant-life. "You know, this would be a pretty fun place to just run around in if we weren't fighting for our lives! We should come back here sometime!" Elliot called back to everyone else, obviously having a fairly good time with their current situation. "I mean, even if things seem a bit, 'Grimm' right now." Elliot stated, snickering a little bit as he dodged over some rocks. His big sis would be so proud of him if she heard that! After what seemed like a couple minutes, Elliot found himself in front of a huge pit in the ground that spanned for miles down. It also seemed to be a few miles across. In the center, however, was a large structure that seemed to be made of stone with several walkways leading up to it from around the area. Dead center was a large spiraling staircase that went up a ways, leading to a tower-like structure that had other walkways that lead to more towers extending off of them. The whole thing looked pretty mystical.

"It's definitely pretty hard to miss, ain't it?" Elliot mentioned, staring at the structure for a few seconds before he started to barrel down one of the walkways. "Remember the plan guys!" Elliot stated, darting across the dilapidated structure, rocks and dust becoming unsettled due to the sudden weight. Once he had managed to make it all the way across, he came to a sliding halt and turned towards the others. He would wait for almost everyone to get across before giving the order to the back line. "Alright! Blow it up! Quick!" He would shout to the people that had decided to hold up the rear of their group, hoping they would be able to keep the Grimm from swarming all of them.

Noir Alcott

Noir sighed due to his idea was tossed aside but not off the table in case of an emergency. He looked at his partner sage and gave him a thumbs up showing he is ok as the beopuppy looked over his shoulder at him and pants with happiness. "Ok guys, I will stay. But I will watch our back so you guys can fight more effectively." Behind his eyes however, it became more serious as the group began to move. A few grimm follows behind them and he cuts them by the legs so he can slow them down and the pup would bark at them in a way to say 'stay away meanies'. But then he heard a joke that just made him laugh hard as he ran, "Nice one, got to remember that one for my dad. He would enjoy it."

When the group reached their first designation, he turned around and started to do backward jumps that were small and pulled out his sword. He then places ice dust into the hilt with his left hand as he held the blade in his right. Then after one jump after another, he started to slice the walkway which caused it to freeze and break as the grimm stepped on it that caused it to crumble under them. He then focused on following them across as he kept the Beowulfs from getting too close like the others are doing after the path got destroyed. After a little bit of time passed, he heard the signal and shouted "MOVE" and ran to where Elli was and awaited for the destruction of precious ruins. "Hope the teachers are ok about this." He spoke to himself with worry, if this school has a history teacher, then destruction of ruins is going to be saddening indeed.

                                      • spaceWhile Opal didn't like Noir's explanation of the blue Grimm, but she didn't have much choice at the moment. She had to ignore it and focus on the ones actually coming to attack them. Carmine shared her look of discomfort as they locked eyes momentarily. Everyone began speaking amongst each other then, tweaking the plan and solidifying a few key factors. Crimson spoke to Opal and said she shouldn't be alone in the back. As the faunus was about to answer the other, Hildr spoke up and turned her attention to Opal, opting to take up the rear with her. The redhead smirked at the valkyrie, exchanging an even look with her, "Sounds good," she gave Hildr a confident nod, "we'll do just fine." She mused thoughtfully as the other's weapon shifted into sniper mode. That was a plus; their range was increased with a sniper rifle. That was in addition to their two spears and Opal's gauntlet. They would do well taking up the back. A few more quick conversations arose as the group prepared to move out.

spaceNoir's idea for baiting Grimm wasn't terrible in regards to small packs, but this wasn't a small pack, so she was thankful a few others spoke Noir down. She couldn't help but question the boy's ideology, but she couldn't blame him for being hopeful. It was then that she wondered where Carmine would mix into all of this. The redhead looked to Carmine only to be met with a confident nod. Opal couldn't help but smile. She was a little disappointed that they wouldn't be together, but they weren't alone in this battle. They had to cooperate as a team to get through this. Her teammate called over to Elliot and would be his backup, leading their way to the ruins. A sharp howl broke through the air, prompting Elliot to explain where they were going with more detail. She nodded at the others and then looked to Carmine again, giving her a nod and smile, "See you soon." Opal waited alongside Hildr for a moment as the others took off running. She turned her head to gaze in the distance, the Grimm finally becoming blips on the horizon. If you could see them, they were too close. Opal cocked her head at Hildr, a grin planted on her face, "I don't know about you, but I'm very much looking forward to this. Let's go." She flexed her gauntlet-clad arm and closed her fists, feet planting into the ground as she took off running after the other teams.

spaceThey were close enough to the others to see them and to be heard if they ended up getting cut off. Hildr seemed like a capable enough fighter. Of course, all she knew about her style was her weaponry. Elliot spoke highly of her, so she could only assume she was strong. Opal ran with an excited smile. Hearing Elliot's own excitement from up front only made her anticipate the fight more. She was pleased to be fighting alongside competent allies. It didn't take long for them to reach the tower. She came to a halt at the walkway and stared up at the thing; it was huge. By the time mostly everyone was nearly across the walkway, the ground beneath them was rumbling. They were closing in. Opal exchanged a look with Hildr when Elliot told them not to forget the plan. She nodded at the valkyrie and let her run down the walkway first. When Opal was about to start her dash, a trio Ursa burst from the treeline and spotted the rear group, then beelined for them. Opal stopped running and turned. She planted herself as she activated her semblance, mouth open wide.

spaceA loud screech poured out of her and overcame the Ursi, stopping them in their tracks without even a tremble. She held it for about six seconds, which would hold the Ursi in place for the same amount of time, "Hildr! Think you can shoot out some weak spots for me?" She called out to her temporary partner. Once that was done and they were close enough the other side, Opal raised her fist and slammed it into the walkway. Gravity dust laced in the gauntlet activated as she did so, bending the metal structure and bringing a series of creaks out of it. The sudden shock traveled through the walkway. The bolts holding it all together started breaking as the metal plates popped up all the way down. When Opal made it to the other side, she turned and planted a knee into the ground, sending her fist into the structure again. This time, the walkway disconnected entirely from their and fell down to dangle at the other side of the cavern. The trio of Ursa has been able to move for a few seconds now and were on the walkway when it fell. Opal turned to the group, eyes on Elliot, their would-be leader, "What now?"

                                        • spaceSage watched the group with his arms crossed over his chest, scythes resting against his metal chest plate. Everyone was talking back and forth so Sage just kept his comments to himself. He was more focused on making sure Noir wouldn't be the victim of a sneak attack from the blue Grimm that seemed attached to him. When his teammate turned to catch his eye, giving him a reassuring nod, Sage smiled and gave him a nod back. He was confident that Noir had the luck to get through nearly anything. Everyone seemed to agree to Elliot's plan, not so much to Noir's idea of a distraction group, but eventually they all came to a consensus. When Noir opted to take up the rear with Opal and Hildr, Sage looked to the rest of the group. Carmine would take up the front with Elliot; Sage's gaze fell to the final pair to arrive. The purple haired one gave Crimson, her name apparently, a thumbs up and asked if she was ready to run again. Crimson seemed ready, but a red aura surrounding her ankle begged otherwise.

spaceSage approached the pair and nodded to them, the metal of his weapon clanking as he placed a fist to his chest, "Sage Tempest. I'll take up the center rank with you two, then?" He turned his head to Crimson, jutting his chin lightly towards her ankle, "I can help with that. It will be temporary, but it will help as we run." He spoke evenly to the girl. Sage waited for her to respond and agree before he placed a hand on her armored shoulder and activated his semblance. He effectively made her armor lighter and took the weight off of her hurt ankle. Once he removed his hand, he gave a light smile, "Better? If it starts to get heavy again, let me know." He still couldn't place why he knew who she was. Well, maybe not exactly her but... Sage tore his gaze away and looked back to Mauve, offering a small nod in the name of partnership.

spaceOnce everyone was ready to go and took off running, Sage followed suit, staying slightly behind the other two as they took up the center ranks. Normally Sage would prefer to be fighting, but he would have plenty of time for that, he was sure. The Grimm weren't too far behind them as the group made their way through the forest, some more jovial and excited than others. Their positive natures rubbed off on Sage and he found himself enjoying the group aspect of this. In the Knighthood, it was more about one on one fights. Granted, they did partake in battles together, but they were more like hunts than strategical battle plans. As they broke through the treeline and made their ways across the walkways, some fought the faster Grimm and others focused on getting across. Sage wanted to get to the other side in case those in the back weren't able to hold them all off. He reached the other side swiftly and as he turned, a loud screech filled the air. He looked and saw Opal facing the Grimm, mouth wide open. Her semblance?

spaceHe watched Noir and his new pet take out one of the walkways, a sense of pride overcoming him. He was proud to have a strong teammate, and he was right to trust his strength. Everyone grouped up as a series of Grimm gathered at the other side of the cavern, unable to make it across unless they were strong enough to jump. Still, that would take time for the creatures to figure out. That was when a caw from up in the air sounded off. Sage thrust his head up to see two Griffons circling overhead, "We've got more company. Where to now?" Sage spoke as he flipped Guinevere and Galahad around, ready to use them as shotguns for a long range battle.

Mauve just beamed at Crimson when she shot a look his way, mentioning pairing up. He was happy she acknowledged him as her partner. Speaking of hair, mine's going to need a good combing-through as well. Running his fingers through his lavender locks, he sighed. At least they had a plan. Providing its success, the pairings would hopefully succeed in their task and head back to campus where they'd be placed into teams. Crimson's guaranteed. Haven't gotten a chance to see her in battle, but she doesn't seem all bad. Wonder which of these guys are going to round up the rest of my group. None of 'em seem half-bad. The nearing sound of armor pulled him from his thoughts. Huh, another knightly-looking type.

"Sweet, yeah. We can fill out the middle. My name's Mauve Ackles," he introduced, pressing a hand against his chest. He momentarily considered introducing Crimson, as well, but that was the sort of thing that was up to her, after all. Besides, he couldn't really remember if he'd gotten her last name already. Honestly, it was simply curiosity besting him. Speaking of his new partner, Sage seemed to hone right in on the red glow around her lower leg and even offered to help out with it, correctly assuming it was slowing her down. After placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, he asked if she was any better. Another semblance? Wonder what it does... Mauve could only giggle and nod in return to Sage's gesture before the roar of a grimm filled the air.

"Yup! Let's skedaddle!" he agreed before turning and heading out along with the group. Following behind Elliot, it seemed was his full name, Mauve attempted to keep an eye on several things: first, where they were going, the most important. Second, Crimson. Looked like her semblance as well as Sage's would be significant enough to keep her in decent condition, but he couldn't help to worry every now and again. Third, the pile of grimm trailing behind them. Every once in a while, he'd turn to fire out a few rounds and keep them from gaining ground on the group. He couldn't stay composed, however, at Elliot's joke, busting out into laughter and nearly crying from it. He's got puns!

Once the group finally managed to begin crossing the ruins, the rear team of the group worked together to destroy the walkways. How had he missed this place from so high-up? This place almost looked more appropriate for the placement of the relics. Sliding to a halt, he turned just in time to see a few of his fellow classmates in action before several grimm plummeted to their doom. Mauve kept his rifle trained on whatever was left before a loud cawing came from above, two grimm he was actually unfamiliar with. They seemed stronger than the usual riffraff, and having air support was no help. "Geez, where are all these losers coming from?" Most everyone seem either chipper or a little on-edge, nothing to spark this sort of grimm reaction, right? He switched his aim to the newcomers. "If they're here for us, then we've gotta take 'em down, right?" Mauve suggested at Sage's question. There weren't a whole lot of places they could run to from flyers here.

Everybody quickly began to make a move after Elliott had his say. Hildr tightened her grip on Herja, holding the long trigger that was shaped like a long over to fit her four fingers. As Opalstopped beside her for a moment Hildr smiled back, "And I too" Hildr replied, turning on her heel to then follow the rest of the team with Herja in sniper mode.

As they began to make some distance the Grimm behind them began revealing themselves, different types of varying sizes. None of them too frightening at the moment. Opal gave the signal to go ahead as they reached the ruins. They were larger than Hildr expected, and after living her life in Atlas she wasn't used to seeing such old and great monuments. They stood the trials of time, with a larger centre tower and bridges coming off it towards the different areas of land or other smaller towers around it. It was a marvel to look at, and it was a wonder that it still stood at all. There seemed to be one bridge from another direction that was already destroyed some time ago, too. Hildr looked ahead and saw the rest of her group, all seven of them. She felt a sudden wave of belonging, and a little shiver too just before teh screeching began. Hildr's heart beat fast and panicked, but as she turned she saw that the sound was actually coming from Opal, who had her mouth wide open. Semblance? Hildr instantly thought to herself, doing her best not to cover her ears, knowing that if she did she might not hear any other important orders or oncoming creatures of Grimm. The Grimm before Opal froze, petrified by the shrill sound. Afterwards, Opalgave the order to make it weak and Hildr obliged. "Done!" she shouted giving herself a running start as she noticed a couple of the others on another bridge, taking it down in their own way.

Hildr took in a breath and spun her rifle as it shifted into spear mode.As the edge of the bridge came into view she jumped and let gravity take her down. Below was the foundations that kept he bridge up and steady, so once she saw a ledge she used the recoil of Herja to thrust her tot he side and into one of the tall columns. Herja hit it and stuck, so she used Herja like a pole and swung round, taking her spear with her to the other side of the column. There she landed and ran along the under neath of the bridge that looked over the bottomless crevasse. Running in the direction that was back towards the cliff she ran and jumped at the oncoming column, using the recoil of Herja with an Air Dust bullet to to thrust her spear downwards into it, sending cracks up it's length. She planted her feet firmly in the ground and continued to thrust her spear half a dozen times in quick succession with a round of Air Dust to finish it off. As more columns ahead of her revealed themselves through the crumbling remains of the first, Hildr sacrificed more Air Dust rounds to shoot them in sniper mode, forcing them to crack but not collapse. "That should be enough." She said to herself turning to the edge and stabbing the ground with Herja. She used her strength to propel herself to the top of the spear and as she balanced upside-down above Herja she pulled the trigger, using recoil to throw her body upwards and around the ledge above to join the others. She gave Opal the signal and her temporary teammate quickly got to work shifting the rest of the bridge.

She felt a moment of calm come over her as the Ursi fell to the pit below, but that was quickly over. Above, the sound of Griffons could be heard. I've only read about these... Hildr thought, wondering why they would be out here catching them. Some of the others made small comments, and Hildr remained silent for someone to give an order, but whilst she did she shifted Herja back into a sniper rifle and aimed upwards. "If i can hit the shot I can freeze their wings!" Hildr then suggested, continuing to aim but not shooting yet.

((If that's what you guys want, you can write in that Hildr shoots a griffon with ice dust. Her bullets don't entirely freeze a body, but can freeze limbs or in this case parts of a wing enough to un-stabilise them. ))

EDIT = Changed instances of Crimson for Opal (i had a major brain fart writing this)

~The Heiress to Nihility and Hyperbole~

Crimson stood at the ready with her arms crossed and was about to step off with Mauve when another knightly looking male approached. Crimson only nodded to him, "That would be good. Than-..." She looked at him for a moment a bit with distaste before her eyes were showing a lot of surprise. Looking to her leg, "O-oh, that's, quite the power... I mean, it wasn't hurting but, my shoulders feel much better." She put a gauntlet over his hand for a moment before pulling her sword out, taking a moment to boost the effect over her leg, then readying to move.

Crimson was needless to say, getting a bit flustered with the running, and seeing what the rest of the middle vanguard saw. Griffons circling overhead. She had no range, so just stood ready with her sword ready to strike with an Oberhut high guard stance with the sword above her head. Crimson grit her teeth some, "I sure do hope either of you have some form of longer range than I." She stated as she kept her eyes locked on one of the two griffons, while keeping tabs on whatever Mauve or Sage decided to do.
