Myles
Myles stood up a bit straighter when he realized someone was talking; he was already flashing a smile. "Not that I've heard! But they're beautiful. And odd, certainly. I can't figure out how they do it, but," he laughed a bit. "That shouldn't be too surprising, I was never very good at biology, or...whatever science they use to figure out plant things. I figure, selective breeding can do just about anything, though, right?"
He tilted his head back to the plants for a moment and then eyed her outfit. "I feel underdressed standing next to you!"
He was wearing mostly black--a sweater, pants, boots. But it was the accessories that were colored; his belt was layered with neon stripes, and even his shoelaces were a bright neon purple. that matched the undershirt just barely visible beneath his sweater.
He still didn't care much about what he was wearing; he had literally just crawled off the couch, tempted by his brother's offer of food. He was still just impressed with her attire. "I hope it's not too forward, but you're very pretty. Do you model?"

Evren Porter Open for Interaction- Just looking around
Evren stared at the line that had formed as she adjusted the fluffy hat that sat on her head. Walking further as her boots clicked against the ground she only stopped for a moment to see where the lines ended and got a look at the plants they where selling...
She thought she saw a glow for a second before she blinked her eyes and the glow was gone. Did she imagine it? Well for now its best she keep moving along and see what else is in here.

Kailey O'Carroll
Her smile met his easily, happy to find he wasn't someone to scoff at a stranger trying to make conversation. Almost instantly, whatever stiffness remained in her shoulders relaxed, and Kailey nodded her head along as he spoke. "Pretty sure it's biology, yeah," she laughed, giving a helpless shrug. It wasn't like she knew herself really how it all worked. "I just didn't know they could manipulate stuff to make them glow like this... I mean I've seen animals in documentaries do similar stuff but not plants." Maybe she'd just been missing the right documentaries on Netflix?
His commentary towards her outfit made her blink a bit before a wide grin lit her face. Cynic though she was about why people did the things they did, she still wasn't immune to having her ego fluffed up by a few well-aimed words. She waved a hand, tsking and smiling. "Don't feel that way--I'm way too overdressed for only paying five bucks to get in here. I just wanted an excuse." Not to mention it made it so much easier to tease specific people for not being present but that aside... "You look cute and comfy, so trust me, you're dressed perfectly for an event like this."
Kailey shook her head to his question though. "You're fine, and I mean, big thanks for asking, that's really sweet of you. But nope, no model. I am a burlesque dancer though," she added with a slightly wicked edge to her smile. Did that count? Likely not, but hey, she got a kick out of seeing how people reacted to that sort of information.

Samir
It wasn't until Samir accidentally happened to drive by the Botanical Garden that he even realized something was going on. At first, he mulled it over for a bit, but then his curiosity had peaked. Not just for Negaverse-gathering-energy type reasons, but because he was curious. He wanted to check it out--but he couldn't do it alone.
So, he'd called Aubrey, asked if she was free, and within ten minutes he'd swung by her house to pick her up. So, here they were--just walking into the Botanical Gardens to check out the area. He'd paid, of course, since she was doing him the pleasure of accompanying him.
"Wow," he said, seeing genuinely surprised by the set up. "They really went all out, huh?"

Aubrey was pretty surprised to get Samir's call but pleasantly so. Kerrigan agreed to keep an eye on Bethany while she was gone as long as Aubrey didn't stay out too late. Aubrey didn't have a lot of time to get ready but she managed to pull together a cute-ish outfit of jeans and a green tank top with a light leather jacket and a grey scarf. When Samir picked her up she waved goodbye to her sisters and then got in the car. On the drive Aubrey realized it was the first time the two of them spent any time alone together and it was nice not having her sisters around for a change.
When they arrived at the Gardens Aubrey walked next to Samir admiring the Flowers and the Christmas decorations, when he spoke Aubrey glanced over at him and nodded.
"I guess so, I never pictured you as the garden type but it is pretty interesting what they did here... and honestly it's just nice to get out of the house without my sisters in tow." Aubrey confided as they walked.
"And I can't say I'm not excited about that buffet." Aubrey added with a small laugh as she admired some flowers in front of her.

Arthur Quinton aka Quinn - Open for Interaction Quinn absently straightened his jacket as he wandered the Extravaganza. The flowers were pretty, even the new poinsettias, but none of it was really his thing. In fact he had tried to get out of going, he had more than enough to do instead of heaping more things on his plate; home work, school work, work work. Nearly every spare moment he had was spent on his hobbies, mostly photography. He used those pictures to add life to his final project. To inspire it and add dimension. He still had a full semester left once this one was over before he graduated but already the stress of the final project was hanging over everyone's head. But instead of tweaking his designs he was here at the Botanical Gardens looking at plants. His mom roped him into it. Apparently they got the VIP tickets since it helped the Garden but turns out they couldn't go and once his mom heard about the extra credit students could get if they wrote a paper it was a done deal, his a** was going. So here he was in a decent shirt and jacket, slacks and shoes to match, looking at the plants and oddly enough itching for his camera. Something about the way the new plant shined needed to be captured on film. Maybe he could even work its feel into his final project somehow. Abigail Miller aka Abby - Also Open for Interactions Abby absently fiddled with the strap of her bag as she politely wove her way through the crowd with a soft 'excuse me' or 'pardon me'. She was all alone for the moment but that didn't worry her much since her father was around somewhere. She had a paper to write though, it was the only reason she was there after all. Any extra credit at this point was much appreciated since she needed to boost her grades a bit, it never hurt to strive for the highest gpa possible. Slipping a compact digital camera she snapped several pictures of the pretty new 'Winter Star' and wondered what it would be like to own one. She had seen them selling them, or atleast selling tickets for them, but had sighed and bypassed the considerable line. Poinsettias weren't a good plant to have around an active dog who enjoyed finding out about everything. They had lost several house plants to a toothy puppy and while Sherlock had mostly outgrown that tendency Abby didn't want to risk it. "If only it wasn't poisonous to dogs," she muttered quietly as she admired the sparkle of the new plant. ((Might toss in more later))

Myles
Myles laughed, apparently amused when she called him cute. He was comfy though, and he didn't think it was important to say anything. He seemed impressed when she said she was a burlesque dancer.
"Oh! That's neat! Not so different! You just get to do a little performance while modeling, right?" he was still smiling and seemed fairly easy-going about it all. "How long have you been doing it for? --I mean, it's something I looked into but. Well--not for me," he tried to clarify. "I've got so little coordination, I'd wind up face planting before I could do anything. Me and any sort of dancing is definitely a no-go, unless someone wants a black eye. Do you perform anywhere?"
He still seemed genuinely interested in it, watching her with curiosity and admiration.Samir
"I'm not!" Samir confessed with a laugh. "Flowers are too delicate for me. But it's good to appreciate someone else's work, isn't it? I don't think I could ever grow anything like this."
He eyed the way the poinsettia leaves seemed to glisten, tilting his head to the side as he examined it.
"I admit, the buffet is definitely sounding good. But," he turned his smile from the flower to Aubrey. "I don't think I'm in any rush. Are you a fan of flowers? Got a favorite?"

Kailey O'Carroll
Oh this was turning into a very delightful conversation. Zero negative judgements and looks, and even found someone who had a little bit of an interest in it. Bonus!
"It's been about um..." Her lips pressed hard together and twitched a bit side to side, one eye shut as she glanced away, trying to do some mental math. "Two... years now? Bit over. Was able to harass some of the ladies I knew working at one place to put in a good word for me so I was able to jump in as an amateur act soon as I turned eighteen." Both eyes open and smile back on her face, she gave a soft snort of laughter at his personal coordination um... issues.
"Have you tried actual classes? Like, for dance or anything? I started with gymnastics when I was a kid but, I met the ladies I work with now at pole dancing classes. They're super nice and hooked me up with some good places to go for dance and other lessons to help out with routines. I could point you around to some places if you want?" If he said he wasn't very good at it, it was her mind that he clearly just wasn't getting the right lessons, or wasn't figuring out how to best use his body his own way.
Taking out her phone and moving over a bit to show him, she pulled up in a few quick taps against the screen a Google page for Red Moon looked very much the ex-biker bar it'd once been, converted into a two-story establishment for... a very different clientele. "I perform here. It's a little out of the way, not in the best area but we're right near the bus stop so the bouncers keep a hell of an eye out for people in the area."
Grinning, Kailey watched him, curiosity glinting in her gaze. "Sure I can't convince you to give a few things another shot? I mean, everyone kinda has to find their own speciality, what works best for them. But that's most of the fun really."
Of course she could potentially be viewed as corrupting the youth depending on how old he was but details, details.

Knowing, in advance, that something would be going on at the botanical gardens the ashen blond had planned to go. He'd been planning to go for weeks now, since he'd heard a worker who knew him well tell him about it, and had bought clothing just for the event. Alexandre had even asked Aiden to come with him, when he'd come home the day he'd found out about it, he couldn't help it really as he'd been bouncing around the house with excitement. All he'd known was some special plant was going to be available, he didn't know what kind or anything else, but it was enough to fill him to the brim with excitement and have him bouncing around the house speculating about it. If Aiden had ever wondered if he had other loves, other than Aiden himself and his candles, he knew after that. Plants weren't just a hobby they were a passion and a love of his, though he did love Aiden more and he made sure that was obvious.
When the tickets had gone on sale he knew what he'd be purchasing and had done so, without telling Aiden just how much he was spending, it wasn't like he didn't have the money. Between the boutique and his job at Romano's he had money and he certainly had enough for the vip tickets, two of them, he doubted Aiden would mind much anyway as the other would surely understand why he needed a vip ticket and he wasn't about to get his other half a normal ticket. He'd started, at some point, to see Aiden as his other half and not just a boyfriend. A partner and his other half, the one who spoken reason when he wasn't thinking reasonably...the one who roped him in when it was needed...and the person who dealt with his panic attacks, few and far between as they were, Aiden was what he'd wanted when growing up and thought he wouldn't ever have. He was what he'd tried to attain by seeking out someone older, figuring on maturity and responsibility, but also there was that still wild side...which he'd sought after for a time, not to mention someone his own age. Aiden was also no slouch with it came to education but he wasn't over the top brilliant either, take it to mean he wasn't Einstein. No, Aiden was perfect and it led to him making some allowances such as now when they arrived, his arm looped about one of Aiden's as he snuggled into his side.
Dressed primly in a white knit turtleneck sweater, dark slacks, and a below the knee length peacoat he had a scarf as well, which matched his sweater. His hair was tied back with a white satin ribbon as well, something he'd never done before. He'd had to go out to purchase the ribbon in fact, it wasn't something he'd ever do again in all likelihood. Though the reaction when it had been seen had been interesting to say the least.
Snuggled into the other's side, Alexandre wouldn't admit to being chilly despite his warm clothing, he'd had one pink tinged cheek pressed against the other's arm as he took in the winter wonderland that was the botanical garden. It was...lovely, in the most enchanting of ways, something suitable for a postcard even. The main attraction, as he'd led them both toward it, certainly deserved to be. But the glow...that hadn't seemed normal and had him questioning it, to himself, as he wondered if and how some sort of splicing had occurred to allow for such. He knew some plants, more like fungi, could glow but a poinsettia...that was unusual. The oddness, and perhaps a bit of an unsettling feeling, wouldn't deter him from owning one though - nothing really would.
After the initial inspection he'd decided on some food, in the hopes of warming himself a bit. A cup of hot chocolate would help, though he wasn't fond of the drink, he sipped at it slowly and nibbled on some food in a manner perhaps more fitting a rabbit. He kept to Aiden's side not really wanting to part from the other, and not just because the other was a personal heater for the smaller of the two, but also because he wasn't much for being a social butterfly. He'd leave that to other people.
When the line did open up, some time later, for the vip ticket holders to get a plant he led the way, hoping to get online before most other people could. Hearing it was limited, which he expected, he nodded his head and turned his slate eyes up at Aiden and widened his eyes to give as much of a puppy dog look as he could to the other. Really he was acting in a way he never normally would, but this was special! And he knew Aiden didn't like him spending money when he didn't have to, even though they were comfortable money wise. "Aiden...we can get four, right?" He asked, hoping. He didn't know if they'd need special care after all, and he could always go wrong somewhere and one or two might not make it. Plus they were special and that glow! Though that was still suspicious to him.

Aiden Hale:Journal“Four?” Aiden glanced down at his boyfriend with a raised brow curiously. “I don’t see why not. I mean your greenhouse is feeling kind of empty this season.” At least two pallets were devoid of any plant life from the cold snap that seemed to set in over night. “If there is any left over before we leave you might want to consider getting a few extra honestly. I could always drive your car up to the entrance if need be.” While Alexandre had no love for the eight legged spiders that made their homes between the open gaps spanning between stems he did spend a lot of his free time, when home, tending to the flora outside. Some of the plants were quite exotic beauties while others were quite common but the best ones he grew were the edible herbs they used for dinner quite frequently. Something about them always tasted so much better than store bought produce.

Still staring up at the other he nodded his head to the question. "Mmm, it says one free for vip's but two max per person. We can purchase an extra for ten dollars each." He answered before nodding to the others answer. Smiling up at the other, bright eyed, he pressed as close to the others side as he could and raised himself up on his toes in order to press a very brief kiss to his cheek. "The cold snap killed a lot of my plants." The ones outside had suffered greatly but the ones in his greenhouse had even been hit hard, he hadn't been pleased. He'd gone and checked on them, in a rush, that morning when he'd realized they'd been hit by such sudden and harsh cold. Arriving to find a good amount of his plants had fallen victim, he knew they wouldn't make it.
"I don't think they'll let us leave with more, even if they have left over. They might keep them for display or something." But he was happy with four he'd honestly take as many, or as few, as he could get and be happy. "I'm glad you decided to come with me." He had wondered if Aiden would, since this was an outdoor event...in the cold and Aiden wasn't like him when it came to plants. But he supposed it was the doing things with your partner which got the darker haired male to come with him, rather than some appreciation for the flora on display.
"I'm hoping I can replace what I lost when the spring and summer comes. They were the more delicate ones." The ones that disliked the cold more than most of what he had. He'd lost a few orchids among other plants, and those had all been ordered online, and a few other more tropical looking plants.

Caelum Dawson || what
The teen didn't want to admit it, but all of this talk of minors and infatuated lawyers, victims of violence and cop-killers were going in one ear and out the other. Such an intricate conversation really had the boy at a loss; maybe he should pick up a book some time and actually read.
Instead, he offhandedly commented, "Whoa, this is... This is like an episode of Law & Order." Just churn the topic a bit, since he seemed to just be a commentator at this point.
However, he did clear his throat and added again, "M-maybe we should just shake on it now?"

Fritz St. James He hadn't been out in a long time; in fact, Fritz couldn't really remember the last time he'd gone out and actually socialized properly with a group of people who were not his brigade and who were not his family. Not that that usually made much of a difference; but in spite of all that had happened in Fritz's life over the past year, he was still, at heart, a sociable sort of person.
Even if he was still half inside of his head a good portion of the time, but he was working on that.
There were a lot of younger folk milling about, but the crowds of people were thick and cheerful as Fritz wound his way through the throngs. He carefully avoided going through a particularly boisterous group of what looked like college students, twisted to sidestep a waiter with a tray of delicious looking hor d'oeuvres (something wrapped in bacon with a little stick poking out of it), and narrowly missed running smack into a man in a sleek blue suit striding through as though he owned the place.
Physical contact was still something to be wary about, Fritz thought warily, as he managed a vague smile in the direction of a duo standing nearby that he had to pass to reach the next area. He wasn't so sure about whether he could stand the thought of being closer to people again, in spite of his desire to actually get out and talk.
Still, he'd made progress. He was out, wasn't he, and he was doing the best that he could, which he thought was rather a good thing. Fritz snagged a glass of white wine from a tray full of drinks, and took a sip, if anything just so that he would have something to do with his hands and not stand around looking awkward.
There was a young woman standing slightly off to the side, where the plants were. Fritz hesitated a moment, then squared his shoulders and headed over, peering around to see what she was looking at.
"Are you trying to find someone?" he asked, smiling down at her. "Or just taking in the sights?" Auguste Atwell Dressed in a pair of white pants and a pastel blue sweater that landed somewhere around mid-thigh, Auguste passed on dainty feet through the people towards the noted Winter Star. There was a line - he stopped briefly to try and see what it was people were waiting for, then decided that he wasn't really in the mood to wait, and kept going.
He hadn't yet run into anyone he knew just yet, but the night was still young. Auguste had sent a text to the others to let him know where he was going to be, and was now cheerfully making his way around the botanical gardens, oohing and ahhing over the plants and finally being able to make his way closer to the infamous Star.
Someone jostled into Auguste from the side, making him stumble a little. He felt himself knock sideways into someone else as a result, and glanced down to see a young girl with a camera, Auguste twisting to try and get away from the crowded line of people.
"Sorry about that," he said, peering down at her. "It's awfully crowded around here." Steele Moore A hand came down atop Jack's head, karate-chop style.
"Don't go making ridiculous accusations, kid," said Steele, with a flash of his teeth again, eyebrows raised. "I only let the finest of women touch any of this - " He gestured grandly to himself (if he'd had more hair, he would have swept it dramatically over his shoulder). " - so quit while you're ahead."
He dropped his hand away and made a who knows gesture, both arms up, palms directed skyward.
"Children just don't know how to respect their elders these days."

Nick FoxFor a moment, Nick said nothing. He just found them a bench and sat down, holding the still steaming cup of hot chocolate as he watched kids play in the fake snow. Sadly, the real stuff hasn't timed it right. Wouldn't that have been a sight? Waiting for her to join him, Nick continued. "I'm horrible with women. I don't get you all. Half of you have no limits or understand boundaries and the others make me feel like I'm in a convent and looking up is going to send me to hell..." Reaching up now, he pulled off his glasses with one hand and gazed down at them. Setting the cup to the side of the bench, he tried to wipe them off with the bottom of his t-shirt. "I said some things I shouldn't have. I said other things that well...I shouldn't have said them like that. I wasn't lying when I said I don't like being clung too. My aunt's European friends saw to that..." The words made him shiver as he lifted his glasses up to check they were clean and slide them back on. "Anyway, what I meant to say is...do you want to try again? Start over in a way?" He didn't looked at her but the words made his voice crack and he seemed to turn slightly red.

Mercy HaynesNick wasn't the only one to have turned red. Mercy had sat when she'd been directed. Feeling that something akin to a him telling her that her apology was all well and good and that everything was okay. But then he did something unexpected, and asked to start everything over and she bit her lip and looked down at her cocoa. "Nick... I..." The heat was strong in her cheeks. "I would very much, like to start over from the beginning..." She said gently. "I'm sorry if I've done anything in the past to make you feel uncomfortable. You're a really great guy and I don't want you to feel like you have to walk eggshells around me, okay?" She dared a peek over at him, a peek that turned into a quick forward lean and a kiss on the cheek after he slid his glasses back on. "I would love to start over, but I just wanted to get that out of the way before we do..." She said with a very, very bright blush in her cheeks as she turned to look back at her cup. Oh that had been terribly forward and was probably going to come and bite her in the butt, but... She'd had to at least let him know somehow. Letting out a slow, shaky sigh she nodded her head. "Uhm, so, okay - NOW, we can start over..." She said, turning her head to smile at him. "Hi, My name is Mercy Haynes and it is very nice to meet you."
