Cassiopeia Lyons - with Clay and Ptolemaeus - wishing there was a DMC codeword

Guy had a mouth on him. Cassie was staring at Clay, brows up, apparently impressed by his colorful array of imaginative cuss words. Now, Cassie had a mouth on her, she knew that, embraced it, but this guy? This guy had her beat.

Wait a second- "Girlfriend?" The label seemed to yank her back into the here and now. What was it about boys in assuming girl's were incapable of taking care of themselves. Cassie gave a small snort, arms coming up to cross under the subtle swell of her bust as he hip cocked to one side. She could protect herself, thankyouverymuch.

"Oh yeah, I'm a real delicate flower." Disdain was thick in her voice, and she found herself wishing there was some kind of code word she could toss around in situations like these. A means of communicating to Ptolemeaus that she was on the same team. She had her suspicions about Clay, but that wasn't enough for her to be comfortable just powering up in front of him. "It's not like I'm powerless here." All this beating around the bush was getting tedious.

Clay was trying to leave, but he'd turned, looking at her expectantly, and she really didn't know what to do. Leaving probably wasn't a bad idea, but she didn't like leaving a member of the court behind, especially not knowing if he had any back up with him.

"You aren't even a little curious about what's happening?" Yeah, okay, it was dangerous, but that had never really stopped Cassie before, even before she'd been awakened as Romulus.

DMS Ptolemaeus - with Clayton Mercer and Cassiopeia Lyons - telling them to do as they please

It was Cassie's repetition of the word 'girlfriend' that caused Ptolemy to wince. He had hoped she wouldn't have taken offense to the term nor the implication that Clay might have felt the need to protect her as a girl because he had only said those things to rile the other male up a little. He hadn't meant them to rile Cassie up as well, especially when he knew perfectly well that girls, especially this girl, could handle themselves just as well if not better than any guy could.

While watching Clay go on his little tirade, Ptolemaeus leaned over and murmured to Cassie out the corner of his mouth, "Clearly, you're not the delicate one, here." At her mention of not being 'powerless', though, he drew back and raised a brow at her inquisitively. She couldn't have meant what he thought she meant, could she have?

Supposing she did, though, and maybe even this other guy did from what he'd said earlier, was there really any reason for them to join him? They hadn't been given any orders about this and from what Ptolemy had found out so far, it had only involved Negaverse people and senshi that were presumably of the White Moon Court. There was no need for others to get involved if they didn't need to no matter what faction they were.

There was also the matter of powering up. Even while the power was out, a lot of people who had made it into the festival hadn't been permitted to bring much in. Ptolemy had been lucky because he'd volunteered, so he'd been allowed to carry around a little more than the average attendee, including his henshin pen. Perhaps that wasn't true for others, though.

"I'm staying because I want to find out more about why sailor scouts would abduct someone, let alone a performer and subsequently cause all this chaos," he explained to the other two more seriously. "Maybe it's stupid, but I was never the brightest bulb of the bunch. I don't doubt that either of you could hold your ground if you decided to stay, too, but if there's no reason for you to, I don't know why you would."

Clay sighed at the heavens with as much indignation as he could manage. a*****e wasn't helping, and neither was the girl he ran into earlier. Rather than catching the hint and accompanying him, she stood around and dropped weird hints that weren't about to land him in the sack with her and then basically asked him to stick with this place and watch it go down in burning wreckage. Why weren't they getting this?

"Yeah, I'm curious, but this s**t don't go down right. I been in DC a while, and when there's senshi around, there's trouble. And I ain't paid enough to go dealing with that s**t right now. If the only partner I get is this big b***h," he gestured to Ptolemaeus, "then I be steppin'. ******** that shitshow." Clay aggressively shoved his hands into his pockets. Unless the performer offered a million dollars to the rescuers or was one of the Mirror Court, then Clay saw no reason to step in and save someone like a bunch of heroes. No, he'd rather avoid painting a target on himself for the publicity that may bring.

Although, if there was something about this senshi business that he could monetize… Maybe he could charge the performer for the rescue.

But he couldn't do that if Ptolemaeus came in and wrecked his s**t.

"Wait, you think there's gonna be a reward for stoppin' em or whatever? Cuz I could use some extra cash - not like it's raining out of the ********' sky."

Reward? "********, I dunno," she quipped shortly. Things had sort of spiraled, and Cassie was having a hard time coming up with ideas on how to relay to Ptolemy who she really was, without potentially giving said identity away to someone that might have been a part of the court as well, or might not have been.

It was going to give her a headache.

Huffing out an exasperated sigh, Cassie plucked at the neck of her volunteer tee-shirt, plunging her hand down the front of it to grope for the henshin pen she'd secured to the middle of her bra. "Screw it." She was pretty damn sure Clay was batting for the same team, and if he wasn't, well, there was two of them, and only one of him.

Pulling the pen free, she leaned around Ptolemy, searching behind him for anyone that might have been watching, and when the coast was clear, she held the thing up, declaring her asteroid.

There was a flash, magic flaring out from where she stood, and where Cassiopeia had been, Romulus now stood. Puffing her bangs back out of her face, she flashed Ptolemy a grin before turning bright eyes on the third member of their little group.

DMS Ptolemaeus - with Clayton Mercer and DMS Romulus - surprised and amused with his fellow DMS

"If you wanna risk attacking senshi to save someone who seems important to the Negaverse for a reward that might not exist, be my guest," Ptolemaeus told Clay, "but since you're asking what I think, I'm gonna say no." He had to grin at the audacity of such an idea, though.

There seemed to be even bolder behavior going on, though, as Ptolemy turned to see Cassie sticking her hand down the front of her shirt to grab something in the vicinity of her bra. It might have been polite to look away, but his curiosity wouldn't let him. Was that a henshin pen?

"Uh...you okay?" he asked as she leaned around him, unsure of what she seemed to be looking for until she finally held up the pen she'd retrieved and called put the words required to transform her into a Dark Mirror Senshi. Because, as she'd hinted at before and Ptolemy had not quite dared to assume, that was what she was.

"Oh," he said, recognizing Sailor Romulus from their previous court gathering. "Well, that explains a lot." He returned her grin with one of his own before jerking a thumb back at Clay. "But now he's seen too much. Shall we kill him?"

Of course Ptolemaeus knew neither Cassie nor Romulus was stupid enough to transform in front of someone who could have been a danger to them, especially since she appeared to have been checking behind him earlier to make sure no one else was around. He just couldn't resist teasing a little more, especially since the other male was obviously someone who already knew him as well.

Sailor Sylph - a secluded Area just outside of the fairgrounds - with the rest of the group sans Terre

"Umbra looped around to pick up Fiera" Sylph said as her eyes continued to peer at the civilian woman (Jade Argent).

A glimmer of concern flickered in her eyes as she took in the woman's state, took in the blood trickling down from the corner of her mouth, however Sylph held her tongue as she looked over towards Sparks, hand moving to push up the frames of her glasses in a movement that came across as habitual.

"He knows where to meet up." Knew because Sylph had told him so.

"He should be here soon and I spoke to Castalia over the walkie and told her we were regrouping here."

That left Terre - although Sylph was assuming that she was with Fiera and that the three would turn up together.

As it happened three of the group did turn up together - first Umbra and Terre and then, pretty much on their heels so to speak, Castalia...

But of Terre there was no sign.

"I haven't heard anything from Terre" Sylph said as she looked over towards Fiera, concern slipping into her voice as she admitted "I thought she was with you."

Sailor Terre - Stuck somewhere in the Fairgrounds - Looking for anyone familiar and trying not to be eaten

This was bad, this was so very bad. Not only did she get caught up in all the chaos, but she knew her team was in need of her and there was almost nothing she could do to get to them. She needed to get to the others. To Sparks and Sylph and Fiera and Umbra and Castalia and anyone else that might need her help.

Not that she didn’t need help, herself.

She’d twisted her ankle early on, even before she was able to power up, chased into a corner by a youma. She thought that would be the end, but somehow she’d managed to power up, but not in time to see which way Sparks and the other girl was taken.

“Tremble!” she called her attack, the ground shaking around her, enough to scare off the youma that had been cornering her, enough for her to be able to get out and look for her companions she knew were there.

Clay Mercer / with DMSes Ptolemaeus and Romulus

Clay covered his eyes (he totally didn't cover his eyes) when Cassie decided to power up right in front of them both. At that point, Clay realized that they were all in similar company. With everyone else either gone or running away or chasing after fires and youma, that left the three pretty much alone near the entrance.

Ptolemaeus' insights soured Clay's mood for monetary motivation, however - now he faced two of his teammates and No Idea what he was supposed to do here. The pair of them hinted at doing something about it, but if he wasn't gonna receive any kind of reward for stepping in, and the White Moon were trying to abscond with someone important to the Negaverse, then why bother sticking around? Poking his nose in sounded like an invitation for trouble, especially when he personally stood to gain nothing from it. His court - their court - wouldn't, either. If the three of them got killed, then it's a wash. Interference got nothing.

Oh, and they were talking about killing him. "Yo, how 'bout you step off, huh? I'm part of the Dark Mirror too. I don't have my Pen on me, though - I wasn't 'specting to run into all this magical bullshit at a concert." But in hindsight, he was learning to expect it anywhere where people gathered these days. Obviously it was a mistake to leave the pen at home, stuck in his dresser drawer by his boxers. But, if he wasn't in the mood to go ******** around with magic, why take it? Not like it stopped him from getting shot or mugged.

"So you assholes do what you're gonna do. And hit up Morpheus sometime, aight?"

Sailor Sparks

It appeared that all of their teammates had arrived, save for one and Sparks could feel dread pooling into their belly. Where the hell was Terre? Gritting their teeth together they looked at the faces of the gathered.

"We can't afford to wait for her. I can feel the presence of some negaverse lurking. If we don't move - " A hiss of breath escaped. They didn't like this at all, but if they didn't move, they could all risk exposure or worse, death. There was a mumble of curse words slewn beneath Sparks' breath as they began to pace back and forth.

"I don't like this, but we might need to leave her and regroup." The walkie was clutched tightly in Sparks' hand and it shook, from the weight of what they might have to do. "I can't risk all of you." More than I already have, they thought. "Umbra, Sylph. Grab the woman and start to head towards base. Castilla and Fiera, watch their backs - " They looked at all of them. "We're going to go back to base before - "

They spotted movement and an outfit that filled them with dread. Had they been found?

MEANWHILE

It was Sailor Terre's attack that would ultimately draw Xenotime's attention to her, with the youma skittering away like a dog who knew they'd been bad and the thing had run straight toward the first chaotic energy source they could find. With a whine it seemed keen on pointing out the senshi's location it did not seem interested in doing much else, retreating to the rift almost immediately after it felt it'd done it's job.

The senshi was in for some trouble.

General Xenotime has located Sailor Terre

Please keep their interaction brief, but assume that Terre has heard at least one more time that the rest of the group has gathered somewhere near where they had entered. Make a run for the team, try to talk your way out of what might be certain death, OR take your chances and try to fight the general. Regardless of the choice, please keep the interaction to under five posts each, either ending with Terre leading Xenotime to the rest of the group OR dying before getting the chance to make it half way.

Axton Finch - With Rory - Not sure what to do next

It didn't look as though he appreciated her reading him that well, but all things considered, he let it go. There was a bit of an emergency happening all around them, and Rory realizing that he actually gave a s**t about her well being was close to the bottom of his current priority list. Maybe later.

Kit had found them, though he hadn't stuck around. He too watched as the dark haired young man disappeared back into the rushing crowd. He'd probably be fine. If he wasn't, well, they'd only just met. Cold, but true.

He turned his attention back to Rory and the inebriated guy she had claimed as a friend of her's. "Yeah, probably." It wasn't the best logic, but since Ax really wanted to see how this all worked out, he'd go with it. "But maybe not right in the middle of everything. There's probably somewhere safer we could be standing." Like one of the tents, or a booth. Even a stage.

Dark Mirror Romulus - With Clay and Ptolemaeus - Yolo

Patting the pleats of her skirt into place, Romulus looked up at Ptolemy with quirked brows and a wide smile. "It does, doesn't it?" She was glad to see he remembered her, though not leaving a lasting impression had never been much of a problem for her.

Those bright eyes flicked back to Clay at her fellow senshi's mention of him, and she hardly managed to hold back a laugh at Clay's response. Okay, so it had been a tad reckless to power up right in front of him, but with all the hinting and tap-dancing around the whole 'power' subject, she'd been pretty sure he was one of them. And if he hadn't been, if he'd been from the white moon, well, there were things that could be done about that. Corruption, mainly.

She folded her arms as Clay mentioned not having his Pen with him, and gave a small, seemingly disappointed shake of her head. She didn't really care. He could do what he wanted, it wasn't as if she was a pillar of good example, but she couldn't help a bit of subtle ribbing. It would have gone against her nature to do otherwise.

"Morpheus, got it." Cas would give him a call on the compact sometime later, another night.

General Xenotime - Confronting Terre - Searching for Jade

The magic might have scared off the youma that had tailed the nervous looking senshi, bit he wasn't much of a deterrent for Xenotime. The little chaos beasty scrambled past her as the last of the trembles faded, drawing her eye briefly, before she turned her attention towards the tell tale stench of the order aura just ahead. Probably the same senshi that she'd seen run past the entrance of vendor's alley after she'd run into Layne.

"Little senshi, little sneshi," she called merrily, drawing nearer. "Come out and play!" It was inevitable, Xe would find her. Tenacious under normal circumstances, but they'd crossed a line, again, taking someone the general cared for. She'd find the senshi, and then she'd find the rest of her little team, and she was going to get Jade back.

There, near the fence that circled around the backs of the larger crew tents. "I see you..."

DMS Ptolemaeus - with DMS Romulus as Clayton Mercer leaves - teasing Clay before getting down to business with Romulus

"'Course you are," He assured Clay, reaching out to pat his arm consolingly. "Because it's not like real senshi think to take their pen with them wherever they go in case something unexpected happens." Teasing aside, though, Ptolemy knew how close he had been to leaving his own pen behind once he'd heard there was a bag check. If he hadn't found out volunteers were allowed to carry a bit more, he likely would have been in the same situation as the other male Dark Mirror.

Cassie had impressed him with how prepared she'd been, though. With that hiding place, they would have had to be really serious about searching her to find her pen. Of course if the searches had been more through in the first place, maybe the White Moon senshi and Negaverse officers wouldn't have had a chance to cause so much trouble and mayhem to begin with.

"Morpheus?" he repeated, trying to match the name to a memory. Suddenly he snapped his fingers in recognition. "Riiight! Princess Nerd!" And now all the cursing and obvious discomfort from the other guy all made sense. Ptolemaeus cast him a wicked grin. "Talk to you later, sweetheart," he answered with a blown kiss. "Take care 'til then~"

Turning back to his new partner-in-investigation, he said, "I think we're going to have a lot to talk about later. But for now, wanna check out what our friends from other factions are up to? I don't really plan on getting involved if I can help it, but I at least wanted to get an idea of what's going on and why."

Everything seemed turned upside down in this situation. Though Remarque had told Ptolemy that the Negaverse were corrupted and brainwashed, the agent that had spoken to Axton hadn't seemed like either to him. They just seemed like someone genuinely worried about someone else important to them. And kidnapping? That didn't sound like the actions of the White Moon senshi the Dark Mirror Prince had talked about. Were they really behaving so immorally? Even if the Negaverse was their enemy, did that make it acceptable to use a person they cared about against them?

Sailor Umbra - with his teammates sans Sailor Terre in a secluded area - confronting Captain Aluminite

Umbra didn't like the idea of leaving one of their own behind, but he knew Sparks was no more fond of it and they were the team leader, not him. They were the ones who made the difficult choices for the good of their team. Their group had already come this far; it was too late to question Sparks' strategy, reckless as it seemed. So, difficult as it was, Umbra resolved to obey his instructions and moved to snatch up Jade Argent by her arm while waiting for Sylph to accompany him.

Before he got very far, though, the shadow elemental senshi heard Sparks' cut themselves off mid-sentence and looked up, alarmed. When he spotted the Negaverse agent, his eyes narrowed and he stepped up to keep himself between the hostage and her potential rescuer.

"What do you want with this woman?" Umbra asked the captain, his voice calm and low, though his body was taut with tension.

Sailor Fiera - With her team hoping the s**t isn't about to hit the fan but knowing it likely will T.T

Fiera winced when Sylph stated the obvious, Terre had been with her. She should have still been by her side but they had gotten split up in the crowd around their designated stage area. It wasn't like she had deliberately lost the other senshi, not even to show your team mates... to show Umber... that you aren't a child? That you don't need a babysitter even if you are as short as one? That you can take care of yourself? Fiera tried to smash the nasty little thoughts that whispered softly in her head. How did that work out for you? You, who had to be fetched like some lost puppy? Ha! you went from a child to a animal! You aren't worth their time. Hiding her anger at herself the small senshi snapped, her arms crossed defensively across her chest, "Yeah well, I'm not her damn keeper. She is a big girl. I'm sure she will be here shortly." A flash of horror crossed her face as she realized what she said before the senshi's feelings were hidden behind a mask of indifference and stuberness.

Then Sparks spoke up and that mask fell away to reveal the concern underneath. "But..." She trailed off as Sparks gave them their orders, biting her lip as she nodded reluctantly. She knew as well as the others that true danger was fast approaching and they still had their mission to think about. She hated it, God how she hated it, but she understood. She would follow orders, at least until they got to safety, then Fiera was coming back for her teammate... regardless of any damn orders.

Any altruistic, half baked plans to return for Terre died a fast and painful death when Sparks cut the orders off mid-sentence, looking off into the darkness of the fairgrounds. Obviously Sparks spotted something Fiera couldn't see yet but if what she was feeling was any indication the short senshi knew just what caused the alarmed silence. That silence was quickly filled by Umber himself as he stepped in front of the woman to challenge the negaverser who had found them. Fiera swallowed her cry of dismay and tried to stand firm even as her heartbeat, already racing, seemed to kick into overdrive. She wasn't afraid of a fight, she liked fights, but she didn't like their odds, not when every passing moment it seemed like the chaos auras were getting stronger. And Umber stuck himself right out there in the center... where all could see. Where he would be the first target.

Sailor Terre - Being confronted by General Xenotime - fleeing and trying to find her teammates

Sailor Terre let out a sigh of relief as the youma ran off, but there was an even stronger aura coming her way, and the girl’s eyes widened with fear as she was approached by a terrifying looking woman. It was especially abd that she was sing-songing taunts to her.

For a few moments, Terre hoped that she could just hide, that there would be a chance to escape if she just stayed in one place.

But soon she could see that the General was closing in, and Terre, in her panic, threw her hands out and summoned another of her attacks, making the ground twist and turn as before, a low rumbling hoping it would give her enough time to escape.

“Help!!” she cried as she ran, looking desperately for her teammates. They’d been separated and she sorely regretted not sticking closer to Fiera. “Sparks! Fiera!” she called desperately, feeling the aura of the Negaverse General still close, too close. Tears sprung into her eyes as she felt her foot get caught on one of the wires holding up a tent, and let out a cry of pain as she fell to the floor.

No, this couldn’t be it. Her friends would come back for her. They had to. They always did. She was stupid and messed up by getting separated, but they would come for her. They had numbers and the Negaverse General didn’t.

“H-help! Umbra! Sylph! .... Castalia...! Please… Don’t leave me…

Sailor Castalia - On her way to The Place

As she searched for her team in the crowd, Castalia kept the walkie talkie close by, sort of unsure as to where she was going. The place was on lockdown, and people were in a panic. Throwing a jet of water at a nearby youma, her wakie crackled to life with the sound of Sylph's voice. Sylph and Umbra were together, alright, but where were Terre and Fiera? "Yeah, I'm totally doing alright! Just-- Give me-- A SEC!" She struggled, kicking some a*****e in the face and making her way over toward the group. They'd made their way and found one Jade Argent, and finally, everyone was together. "Finally! We're all toget-" Or, er, almost... everyone...

      Where was Terre?

Castalia was rigid as she heard Sparks mention they'd have to continue without her. But-- What if-- What if she was in a bad place? Castalia wasn't sure she was alright with leaving her friend. They could at least send someone back-- "I can't risk all of you." But they were fine with leaving one of them? She couldn't blame them, it was a hard decision, but... "...Alright." She said, steely and uncomfortable, but when she finally calmed down, she understood. Sparks needed them. Needed me. Castalia fought the blush off her cheeks when Sparks turned to the side and their face fell. Castalia followed their gaze before her expression faded to one of shock. They'd taken too long. They'd been found.

But they were four. And Aluminite was one. The light bluehaired female pushed her hair back, hands lifted in a fighting position. She was ready to fight, just in case. Though, under her breath, the water senshi whispered to Sparks-- "We should fall back."

She wasn't ready to die tonight. It didn't matter how important Jade was.

Sailor Sylph - a secluded Area just outside of the fairgrounds - with the rest of the group sans Terre

There was a deliberately blank on Sylph's face at Sparks words, at their suggestion that they might need to leave Terre behind and that was in some ways a reaction, a comment in itself.

It wasn't as if she didn't get that it was safer for the team to stay together, especially as it was impossible to miss the chill feel of chaotic auras...

But it didn't feel right to leave a team mate behind, to leave Terre behind and it was that feeling that had her uncharacteristically hesitate.

"I..."
she started, her voice trailing off as she felt the aura, eyes wide beneath her glasses as she spun round.

Umbra was stepping forward too, stepping between the woman and the agent.

And it seemed like everything was happening all at once, to the point where the crackle of Terre's voice on the communicator seemed almost anticlimatic.

Almost.

"Umbra let me do it" she said as she stepped forward in turn because Umbra had already used his magic and she hadn't used hers yet "You should follow Sparks' orders."

Unsaid was the fact that Sparks' orders to him were also Sparks' orders to her.
