This was Amatus' first time on Academy grounds... and his first time celebrating Haunted Hallows! He'd decided to just wear his dancer's outfit, since people seemed to like it. At least, based on the stares he was getting he assumed they did. The bakeneko couldn't help but smile at all the attention~
He stopped by the front area to pick up a pumpkin pail (how cute!) and then wandered on in to the festival itself... the first game, he won a little pumpkin goblet... but it was rather uh... Trashy. Oh well. He stuck it into his pail and then started off again but-
Oh. Oh no. He NEEDED to have it. A pink vespercat plushie!! He NEEDED it!! Thankfully he managed to win the game that was awarding it, then stuffed it into his pail. Yessss. Amatus turned to go try something else out, though as soon as he did he collided gently with another person.
"Oh, whoops! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there!" He blinked in surprise, taking a moment to realize it was a Grimm he'd pumped into.
Raleka had been unsure of what to wear to the festival. While her fingers might normally be itching for all the plushies she could collect, she had a different kind of focus for this event. She had done her own hair, then brushed Annie's ever-growing mane while he whined at the mirror, then finally she tackled the girls with a shedding comb. Fresh flowers in autumn shades wrapped around her head, and she complemented the outfit with a burnt orange dress, topped in her typical leather jacket. It was chilly in this weather, but she felt cute. Dainty, even.
Raleka hadn't been on a date in a long time - maybe not even ever. There might have been one or two times in Academy where she thought she was on a date, but she couldn't know for sure unless she picked the brains of those individuals, who were likely long gone by now. It was safe to say that the hybrid was nervous. She had begun to take her typical tendencies of drawing in her wings, but every time she peeked at the twins beside her she relaxed a little. She couldn't let them know she was ashamed of any part of her heritage because they needed to be proud.
Addie hadn't met the twins yet. They were only just old enough to toddle off on their own and cause trouble, but Raleka wanted to be sure that when they officially met, it was special. After all, the two of them were precariously teetering between the boss-employee relationship and... something else. It was exhilarating, as they often worked in close capacity, but it was also something the botanist desperately didn't wish to mess up. Thankfully, a couple freshlings they knew from daycare passed by, and swept the two children up into their ranks.
There he was. Every time they met, Addie was more attractive than when she saw him last. Although the little sun they had down here was quickly slipping beneath the horizon, he seemed to have that halo of warmth and sunlight around him, and her cheeks warmed as she approached. Raleka took a deep breath, preparing herself to speak. "Hey, Addie!" she called, grinning as she jogged the last few steps to him. She hesitated for a moment, shy, then gave him a peck on the cheek. "How was your day?"
Estys fretted and did one more headcount for the children she was going to take trick-or-treating. Satisfied that she had indeed counted 3, she smiled and said softly, "Okay, everyone has their buckets? Lumi -- take my hand -- and Atoli take Lumi's hand and Astro take my other hand... Okay." Satisfied and smiling brightly now that it was all situated, she urged her dressed children onwards - to which they eagerly tugged her forward. Her bucket, which was just resting on her elbow, already managed to get a little treat and plush weaseled into it, without her being aware.

Luminoire was dressed as a classic witch - only because she NEEDED to have a witch hat. She loved how pointy the hats were!! Spotting the first victim -- er, home -- she urged her siblings onward. "Theeeereeee!" she squeaked, and racing up to the couple sitting outside, shoved her basket forward. They dropped a bag of candies in her basket. Success!
Quote:
Atoli, dressed as a vampire, followed her sister and held out her basket, which was identical except for its color. The couple dropped a candyfloss in hers. Aaaaah, her favorite ~ She giggled, showing her fake fanged teeth, and skipped back to her mother.
Quote:
Astrophel watched his siblings race off and started to toddle after them, but was instead entranced by a revenant. Cooing at it, he approached it slowly; upon reaching it, he noticed it was hugging something close....a turnip? Interesting... "Hi new friend~" he said, extending his arms for a hug.
Mao made a small 'tut, tut' sound as she stood proudly with her hands on her hips. "We should go that way because I'm pretty sure no one has gone that way yet, so we'll get more treats that way," she argued.
Quote:
Irit shrugged. She removed the pink and blue lollipop that she was sucking on from her mouth and said, "I don't think it matters~" The words were said in her typical sing-songy voice. "If it makes you happy though, sweet Mao-ee-owie!" Practically dancing around the freshling, she dropped a small rock into her bucket, the first trick of many she had planned for the night.
Quote:
Jun smirked. "But think of the girls if we went the oth--" He was promptly smacked on the back side of his twin before he could finish the sentence.
Quote:
Xiu sighed at her twin, clearly frustrated with his thoughts. "We're supposed to be having fun. Family night out! Plus one," she said, turning to young Sylwia and smiling at the pale bakeneko. "So why does it have to be a contest? Let's just go that way -- it's better lit and I imagine is just overall going to be more enjoyable.."
Quote:
Sylwia was dressed as the one and only - her hero. Vespercatwoman. Clinging tightly to her bucket, she had resolved to follow the bakeneko family... Afterall, there was something comforting about sticking around your own kind sometimes! Swishing her tail back and forth, she quipped, "Are we ready to go?" She was so focused on the colorful bakenekos that she didn't notice something drop a creepy doll into her basket.
Kyleigh was only a littler apprehensive about the Haunted Hallows event. She didn't really like to be scared, but she liked the general atmosphere. And the candy was pretty good, too. She picked up a lantern and a cute little purple cauldron for candies and such and started looking around. She wasn't dressed up much, but she had darkened the markings around her joints and given her skin a more porcelain color and shine so she would look more like a broken doll. She came across a little purple doll and picked it up. It was pretty, though it looked a little sad. With a smile, she set the doll in her cauldron anyway.
Taegan wasn't really into the Haunted Hallows much, but he liked going to the festivals. This one was no different. He didn't dress up, though. Picking up a lantern and a red jack-o-lantern bucket for any tricks or treats he came across, he started off toward the games. Something got tossed into his bucket but he couldn't see who had done it. Reaching inside, he found a box of raisins. Yum~ The Litch popped the box open and started munching on them as he looked at the games. The darts looked interesting, so he stopped and played a round, winning himself an adorable pink vespercat plush with bone markings.

Bibiana was absolutely ecstatic!! She LOVED Haunted Hallows and was super excited to go into the park for the festival. Her costume was pretty simple: she wore a small pair of homemade wings on her back with a little tail and a pair of ears so she could be a vespercat! And glitter. There was a LOT of glitter. Why? She really liked glitter. Se dashed into the festival and snagged a bright pink cauldron and a lantern. Before she got too far, she stopped at a trick or treat booth and got a bag of chocolate skulls! "Oh yummy!! Thank you!!" she exclaimed before popping one in her mouth and bouncing on.
Lestari sauntered into the festival, glad she'd worn smaller heels than she was originally planning to. Her costume for the night was a bloody nurse's uniform that she'd stitched together and (artfully) applied red paint to. Her face looked bruised and blood spattered, as did the rest of her skin that was exposed. She was pretty pleased with the result as she picked up a lavender jack-o-lantern bucket and a real lantern before heading off into the festival. She stopped at a trick or treat booth but only came away with a rock. "Boo. It's not even a pretty rock," she pouted. It got tossed into her bucket though. Her next stop was a game booth where she managed to get a ring around a bottle neck, wining her a cute like skeleton plushie.

Phiffion's lips were curled into a small pout. She had, for some reason, volunteered to watch some freshlings and make sure they didn't get in trouble... and she was already regretting it. She wasn't much of the motherly type so it just...was frustrating. She sighed. Maybe she could slip by unnoticed at some point. She hoped so at least.

Isolde had decided to enjoy the event with two classmates of hers - both of which were somewhat recluse like herself. Swinging her bright blue bucket by her side, she pointed out a bowl that was filled with treats. They hadn't even started yet, and she already hit jackpot! Scooping up a sugar treat, she tossed it in her basket and -- ooo! Plushes! Don't mind if I do~ She picked one up and showed it to Phaedra before dropping it in her bucket.
Quote:
Phaedra made a faint smile. "Isolde...look. Another plush. I kind of like this one..." she trailed off, picking it up and tucking it in her bucket. She glanced at Eli, who seemed to be looking for something with a strange intensity.
Quote:
Eli followed his friends. He had one goal - the goal he always had. Acquire wisps, maybe a flitterrat, and lots and lots of plushes. He was ready. With his eyes trained and strained, he noticed the faint lighting of a wisp not too far off, circling an odd skull with a candle attached to it. Firmly taking Isolde and Phaedra's hands in his, he dragged the two over to the wisp, which seemed perfectly content to float towards them and make friends out of the trio.
Drayden was pretty excited for this. It was both his and Gryffyn's first Haunted Hallows. Drayden had even dressed up, wrapping tattered white cloth strips around himself to be a mummy. "Are you excited, Gryff?" he asked his child as they grabbed their lanterns and buckets. They stopped at a trick or treat booth and both won treats!
Gryffyn stared at everything a little wide eyed, one hand clinging to their dad and their lantern, the other dangling their bucket. "Uh huh...this place is pretty cool!" The treats from the booth were pretty neat, even though their chocolate bat was melting as they are it. Gryffyn dragged Drayden over to a game booth and played, winning plushies for both of them.

Sid was way excited for this! He hoped Corasett was around here, too, he'd like to jump up and maybe scare her with his furry mask. It was some fictional animal, he wasn't entirely sure what it was called but it looked pretty scary. He grabbed a neon green looking cauldron and a lantern on his way in and immediately stopped at a trick or treat booth, but all he got was a funky looking rock that made him feel weird. He shrugged and dumped it in his cauldron; it still looked cool. On his way forward, he stumbled upon a box and out climbed a vespercat! He knelt to look at it better and grinned. If ever there was a perfect cat for him, it would be one with glowing eyes. "You wanna come with me, kitty?"

Festivals still made Jayd nervous, but she was kind of excited for the Haunted Hallows. Her costume was simple; one of her nicer gowns and pale powder combined with dark, bruised looking makeup around her eyes gave her a deathly, ghostly look. She was pretty proud of it. She grabbed a bucket and a lantern as she came in, but something was rolling around in the bucket. She reached in and pulled out...an eyeball. She almost screamed, but realized it was glass. It was pretty realistic looking though. Deciding to try her luck at one of the games paid off as she was handed a cute little bony vespercat plush.

Aellys smiled as he and Bryony headed into the festival. He was a little bit excited for this, and he could tell Bryony was as well. They had dressed to match, both wearing clothes they had hand painted with constellations so they could be the night sky. They each grabbed a lantern and cauldrons for candy, and inside Aellys's was some...out of date candy. Gross. He was glad Bryony hadn't gotten this one.
Bryony saw that his dad got something in his cauldron, so the freshling dug his hand inside and pulled out...a chocolate bar! "Sweet!" he said and ripped it open, taking a big bite. "THIS IS THE BEST CHOCOLATE I'VE EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH," he screamed, then clapped a hand over his mouth as he started giggling.
Tamandani smiled brightly at her girls as they entered the festival grounds. "Alright ladies," she murmured. "Let's stick together, okay? I wouldn't want to lose either of you." She winked at them as they went to grab their buckets and lanterns. "But if we do get separated, let's meet by the entrance." She gave a nod and looked at the girls to make sure they understood.
Crux nodded, only half paying attention. "Yup, sure, can we go now? I wanna go play games! And get candy! Right, Maylis?" The freshling was bouncing back and forth on her feet and looking around at all the things they could do. She paused when Dani told them to look in their cauldrons first. Dani got some kind of skull with a candle on it. "Oh, cool! Mine's made of sugar!" she said and grinned, licking the side.
Maylis was a little more nervous about all this, and she was grateful that Dani had made a plan in case they got separated. She was still planning on clinging to one or both of them the whole night. She didn't like being scared, not at all. Maylis pouted as she pulled a skull out of her bucket. "Mine's...an actual...skull...." Okay that was weird. Something hit her in the face just then and she screamed, only to find it was a plushie. And that Crux was holding a similar one, grinning. This was going to be a long night...
Haunted Hallows was always a fun time of the year. Things would get spooky, and the hybrid could remember dressing up as a freshling. Thinking back fondly of these memories, she gazed about at the different tricks and treats available to everyone. "Candy, wonderful," she chimed as she grabbed a bucket and a lantern. It was only after she looked down into her bucket, however, that she noticed something was off. There was a bottle of goo in there, too? Huh...talk about weird.
Phia's Prizes
Aurum watched the different Nightmares and Daydreams go about their fun at the event. She wasn't out there for the tricks or the treats as much as she was just people watching. The little dryad much preferred to see the interactions of others, rather than experiencing everything on her own. It was a festive affair, and festivities meant customs from all different backgrounds. Yet, still, the freshling found herself drawn to a few items, namely a candy basket and a paper ghost. How could one pass up items like that?

"Ooooh, cand---," Onaona was about to squeal with delight at the candy bucket she held, only to be at a loss for words. Down in her pale was a skull that had a candle sticking out of it. What the heck? Who the heck would hide that underneath some candy! As Ona peered at the skull with a look of disdain, something else moved in a box nearby. A vespercat came form, mrowling and purring as it walked up to Ona. "Awww -- you're cute," she told it with a smile. "You can come home with me!

"...I'll share these with Raggazino," the bald goblin bakeneko hybrid said. A clawed hand reached out and scooped up a bag of candy corn. It wasn't much, but it would be enough for Bambina. She didn't have much of a sweet tooth, anyway, but her brother would be happy to have a treat that they could share together.
Bambina's Prize
Kizzy was beaming from ear to ear as she went about the Haunted Hallows event. She loved this time of year, especially seeing everyone all dressed up in costumes. The freshlings, especially, loved to play games and do pranks, so how could she not love it? As an aspiring day-care owner, anything that made children happy made her happy as well. "How cute~ Kizzy said, taking one of the many paper ghosts. She'd hang it in her room, she decided. She knew just the spot, too, right above her bed.
Niamh shyly walked onto the Academy grounds, wearing her favorite Kimono dress, one she'd designed and made for herself. As she entered, she snagged one of the lanterns, and a pretty lilac bucket that she thought looked good with her blue colors. She paused to admire it, and ran her fingers along it, before heading towards the game. She played a bit, and... won a bird skull. She stared at it, and put it in her pail. Maybe one of her precious Spectrefoxes would like it as a toy. The next game she played, though, she got lucky with! She won an ADORABLE skeleton plushie colored in pink and blue! As she dropped it in her bucket, she was bumped into, causing her to spin, startled.
She found a LOVELY pink Bakeneko standing there, apologizing to her, and wearing the most adorable dancer's outfit she'd seen in ages. After a long moment of staring, and blushing shyly, she finally spoke up. "Ah... ah I... it's ok! I...I pro...probably banged you, I'm su...sure." Oh blast that damn stutter! "Uh. Um. Your outfit... Wh...who made it? I duh...don't recognize the de...designer's style. Bu...but it's REALLY nice!"
Nepsah
Niamh ran into the festival. She was FINALLY feeling good about herself again, after that awful experience in the Above Forest. Sure, it had come out right in the end, but she'd felt like a failure for weeks after, and had been convinced she hadn't saved their friend... And she hadn't had a chance to find Tomoe yet, either. Still, she felt good about herself now, and that was a good thing. She took a slow deep breath as she picked up a lantern and a cute pink Jack'O'Lantern Bucket for the trick or treating.
She began to go around, and looked at a bunch of games as she went. Finally, she decided to play one, and she was excited when she won what looked like a pretty sparkling rock... Until she touched it. She shivered, shocked, and dropped it in her bucket VERY fast.
Kama led his kids into the festivities, then told them to get a bucket, and go have fun... But to be nice and be CAREFUL as they played. He then snagged a bucket and lantern for himself, before wandering into the games zone, his eyes filled with amusement. He played a few for fun, not having a lot of luck at first... But when he won a game, he was actually amused by the cute little smiley ghost he won from it!
Thurayya had been getting excited, hearing about the upcoming Haunted Hallows festival. She was just SO hopeful to get lots of games and fun in, and maybe make some new friends. Now it was HEAR, and she could barely contain her eagerness. She ran into the festival, and looked around, her eyes huge and eager. When she saw the Lime Green Jack O'Lantern Bucket, she knew she HAD to have it. She grabbed a lantern, too, to be safe, and headed straight for the games. She was having a great time, but winning her first prize, a pretty bracelet with three pumpkins on it, just made it even better!
1 Lantern
Aurianna wandered into the festival, looking around. She had let her brothers decide to go with their friends from school, and their caretakers, if they wanted, and let them spend the night with them, before she'd pick them up in the morning. She, however, wanted to catch a peek, and see if they did... and if so, take a photo of them in their costumes. In the meantime, she decided to play some games. She grabbed a wine-purple colored bucket to hold prizes in, and a lantern to see with, before heading off. She managed a low score on her first game, and snagged a... really cheap plastic pumpkin goblet. GRACIOUS, who had picked these prizes?
1 Lantern
Maarika bounced into the festival, wearing a tight one piece costume to make her look like a spectefox... if spectrefoxes had tight little body suits. She had a cloak, too, in case she got cold. She trotted up, and snagged herself a classic orange Jack O'Lantern bucket, and a lantern, then headed off to the games, her fluffy tail wiggling in her energetic excitement. She REALLY didn't care if anyone was stunned by how little she wore... She never was. After all, her normal wear wasn't much either. She got to a games booth, and played, while flirting shamelessly with the Nightmare who was running it. She either got a good score, or flustered the poor soul, because she got to pick a PRETTY orange and black beaded bracelet as a prize!
