River Side
Kaya simply laid by the river for a few moments after his encounter with Lotad. Why bother moving yet, anyway? He was soaking wet, stained somewhat brown and lucky his steel body was made of organic metal that couldn't rust. So why not simply lay out in the sun for a few minutes and bake? He might be feeling more up to continuing his search after he had dried out a bit, after all.
He wouldn't have more than those few minutes he'd considered, however, as he felt a set of teeth latch onto the horn growing out of his helm. Thankfully it didn't hurt all that much but it did get annoying after a few moments of ceaseless chewing. "You're not going to do anything but hurt yourself." He told whatever was trying to eat him as he made to stand up. The action was met with a harsh tug, however, causing him to fall back to the ground before he could even get to his feet. He'd managed to roll over onto his knees before the tug, leaving him faceplanted directly into the mud of the river bank.
"Again with the mud?!" He demanded, now becoming somewhat irate.
"To.....to..."
"Wait....." He recognized that, sort of. It was laughter. Whatever had him by his horn was laughing at him. Oh that was the last straw. "Serena, Swift." He told his Sylveon. She ignored his orders for now, however and simply glared at whatever had hold of her trainer.
"Serena, I said use Swift." He repeated, hoping to get through to the Fairy-type. Once again she ignored him.
"To....to...to...." That laughter again. Fine. If Serena wouldn't help, he would have to do this himself. Letting a small spark of light form in one hand, he released it into the air, a small amount of will keeping it's general direction moving up and away from him a bit. Whatever had him in it's jaws seemed to be curious enough about that little flickering spark to release him after a few seconds. Rather than get up immediately, the hybrid raised his head and looked around, still controlling that little spark.
"Dile!" The Big Jaw Pokemon shouted as it attempted to bite down on Kaya's tiny spark of light.
"Huh....A Totodile. That's not all too common to find in the wild." He commented to himself before releasing his spark.
"Totooooo!" The Water-type cried out as the pinprick of light rapidly expanded into a violent explosion of dazzlingly bright light. Blinded by the burst of light and thrown back a few paces by the force of the explosion, it staggered for a few seconds before firing a Water Gun in whatever direction it happened to be facing at the time every few seconds.
Serena watched, bemused, until the third Water Gun hit her while she snickered evilly. "Vee!" She cried out, angered by the attack against her, despite it being obvious it hadn't been intentional. Before Kaya knew what had happened, Totodile was blasted off it's feet by a Moonblast attack. The blow seemed to clear the tiny crocodile's head, however, and it returned to it's feet with renewed vigor.
"Toto!" It exclaimed, taking on a fighting stance for a brief instant before it began to hop around, indigo flames erupting around it when it's feet touched the ground. Each hop came faster than the last and it seemed to leave a deeper indention in the mud each time it pushed off the ground. "Dragon Dance?!" This was both not good and incredibly intriguing for him. He didn't know Totodile's evolutionary line could learn that move.
"Serena, we're going to capture this one. Use Swift!" He called to his partner, the Fairy-type listening this time and using her shadowy stat-beams to strike at the Big Jaw Pokemon. The attack was cancelled out, however, when the Totodile's body began to glow with a ruddy brown aura and it lashed out with it's muscles even further enhanced, smashing the stars to bits before they could strike true. "It can use Superpower too?!" Ok, now Kaya was really wanting to catch this Pokemon. He hadn't intended to find this kind of Pokemon at all but he didn't exactly have what you could call a bruiser on his team at the moment and this just might give him that kind of firepower.
"Serena, use your Moonblast again, we need to weaken it a bit." He told his partner. She decided, however, that this wasn't working. Instead, her body took on a shadowy aura, the energy pouring out of her like smoke as protrusions like shadowy blades began to erupt from the ground around her. "Not again...." Kaya groaned, not wanting to see his Pokemon use such an attack again. "Return, Serena." He said as he aimed the Moon Ball at her. When the beam struck, however, nothing happened.
"Serena?" He whimpered, almost certain he knew what was coming. The Shadow Rave erupted from the Sylveon, countless shadowy spikes sailing through the air. Totodile saw the attack coming and with a clever use of Dragon Dance, it pranced through the rain of spikes as if they were harmless bits of fluff, evading all but one or two of them. However, when the rain of nails ended, it turned back to the Sylveon only to find itself looking into the angry face of a Shadow Pokemon who had entered Hyper Mode. The Fairy-type's normally bright blue eyes were tinted black, her face contorted by rage, hatred and fear.
"Toto dile?" It asked, beginning to worry about this Pokemon. Didn't it's human treat it well? Why else would it look that way?
Serena rushed Totodile, her smoky aura of Shadow energy trailing behind her as her Shadow Blitz wrapped around her, aiming to wipe this grinning ball of teeth of the map. Totodile was faster by now, however, and dodged around her, coming down with a Metal Claw as it jumped over her, raking it's silvery claws down her back.
"Sylveon!" She screamed as she spun around, firing a Shadow Rave at the Big Jaw Pokemon before it hit the ground. Totodile barely hit the ground before the attack was bearing down upon it but it hit the ground running, bolting straight towards the Fairy-type. Ducking down and landing on it's stomach, it slid right under the attack, using Aqua Jet to propel itself farther, faster. Sliding up under the Sylveon, it launched her into the air with the aquatic tackle.
"Sylveon!" Serena shouted as she released her Swift, the starts almost solid black from the Shadow energy taking her over. Totodile cut it's Aqua Jet short and it's body began to glow from the use of Superpower once again as it grabbed hold of the Fairy-type, crashing down into the ground below as it held her tight. The blackened stars from Swift struck it hard along with the ground but it held firm.
"Totodile toto dile dile todile!" It called to Kaya as it held the struggling Shadow Sylveon in it's tiny arms. She was weak but she refused to admit it. She could still fight! She could still win! She had to!
"Thank you...." Kaya said quietly as he recalled the Sylveon to her ball.
Siddling up to the Water-type as it laid on the ground, he spoke quietly. "That was.... really impressive battling you did. I don't have any Pokemon that are as strong as you or that can take that kind of a beating. I could really use your help. Especially if she or any of my friends' Pokemon were to get out of control like that again." He told the Pokemon as it rested beside him. "What do you say to coming along with me and helping me keep her under control?" He asked of the crocodile.
"Dile." Totodile replied, giving a toothy grin.
"Thank you." Kaya said as he took out a Moon Ball and tapped the Pokemon an the forehead lightly. It was drawn in in a flash of pale golden light like that of a full moon and the ball clicked almost immediately.
