Chel did not like the sound of that, but tried not to let it show on her face lest Shun get angry about that too. Just being snatched up like it was nothing? She didn't like entertaining the thought.
"What're you gonna do f'you run into one?" she asked. "Make angry eyes 'til it dies?"

Shun narrowed his eyes at her, and his fingers twitched a bit at what he perceived to be a snide comment.
"That would be about as useful as you ******** quipping something to death," he hissed, Some are supposedly benevolent. Others... if they are hostile I will try to defend myself. Magic is more prevalent in the other world. I do not know how to use it yet, though.

Chel sighed and closed her eyes. "You talk real big about doin' yer duty and s**t, but f'you ain't ready when that s**t comes fer you ... You ain't gonna do no one good f'yer dead."
But she didn't mean it in a cowardly way. "Once m'not all ..." She gestured to her body and the various injuries, "We should like. I dunno, practice fight." She opened her eyes and looked at him. "You can punch me all y'want- dream come true."

Like make fireballs, as Jeremiah had showed. Shun rubbed his forehead, closing his eyes as he did so.
"Tsk. How much self defense do you even know?"
She certainly didn't put up much of a fight when he was trying to kick her out of his apartment. She was mostly just shoving him, which wouldn't have been that effective if he weren't injured at the time. Chel seemed to be all bark with no bite.

Shun grunted lowly, not really wanting to train Chel. She seemed like she'd be a horrendous student to deal with, just based on how his normal interactions with her go.
"Well you better find yourself a teacher, then. There are self defense classes at the gym, and you may be able to find others who would be willing to train you."

"Now yer the one bein' stubborn," she said. She'd talked with Sunny, fought with him against werewolves, accepted magic, listened to his information- what else did he want? "An' I can't pay for that," she admitted more honestly.
But if Shun was going to be stubborn she was going to have to find a way. Her mind was already ticking people off the list; didn't Chris have an old veteran buddy who put out for her once? She could probably use that ... Even if the idea of sleeping with the guy repulsed her; he was a disgusting sort. She wasn't sure if he bathed and for Chel to say that you know it was serious.
"But m'takin' it that's yer final answer." She silently added on like always.

She debated it for a few seconds. "I was s**t in school." That was the truth. "But I learned how t'rap Nikki's verses from the radio. I can learn anythin' from anyone as long as I don't gotta read buster."
