People were beginning to file into the staircase fast, staring and poking and prodding in ways that Lily hadn't thought to anticipate. Of course they would be nervous, of course she looked strange, but that didn't mean they had to touch her.
"Ain't my style, amigo," she replied dryly to Rosie. There wasn't time to correct the woman, and she wasn't sure it would even make a difference.
Her shoulders stiffened at Autumn's touch and her tail bristled--she wasn't Pack, she didn't have permission, and her heart began to race--"Yep, one of the good ol' boys," she murmured impatiently, pulling down and away from the hand.
And then Jamie was bounding up the stairs and she maneuvered around the muggles to get to him, ruffling her hands through his hair. "Shhh, I'm here," she murmured softly, squeezing one of his hands. "You're right, I shouldn't have gone so fast. We move forward together from now on, alright?" It was Jamie plus a few fun accessories from their time in the otherworld, but it was still Jamie, still her pack.
Her eyes narrowed at Jack's camera, if only for the fact that Jamie was present and already frightened. But Lucas was coming up the stairs, and as he passed Lily put out a hand to brush against his arm, not to stop him but just to know he was real. She didn't ask if Eve was safe at hand--she knew that Lucas wouldn't leave her otherwise.
Well. If that's what they all looked like, then no wonder people were nervous.
"...what he said," Lily stammered after Lucas's briefing of the situation, standing beside him. She caught sight of Falco right as he made eye contact with her, and for the first time her eyes widened in surprise as she shrank back against Lucas and Jamie. If that's what she looked like, and that's what Falco was looking at...well, it was easy enough to connect the dots.
She shrugged when she saw Zac, almost defeatedly. "Told you it was weird."
"I don't blame you," she whispered back to Chel, her ears flickering and her eyes sympathetic. "Hell, I'd go with you if I could, but this is kind of our s**t." She swallowed hard and kept her gaze down, staying with the pack. "I'm staying with Lucas."

"But maybe a mirror is," America offered the guy with...really, really red eyes. "If this is all.." she gestured to the weres, "new?"
"If we want to give the bathrooms a first check for people, then let's do that. There's one on either side of these elevators." A hand was waved towards them as they had gathered. "Left one and then right, if we want."
America got a bit of a smirk from Jeremiah if only for the look on her face. After all he knew just how much she liked Algie. Autumn got another nod and Zac as well.
"I'm glad to see you're okay, Lucas. You and everyone else but apparently there was one that didn't go with you." Which he knew. "I assume you'll want to stick together." Jeremiah meant Lucas, Lily, and Jamie.
The detective was looking to Shun, who was in agreement, and then to the others.
"Let's get started and try to find injured or our rogue."

Lucas turned his unblinking gaze to America (a red-head, ********>), shaking his head subtly. "We weren't exactly given manuals about this, but I'm under the impression the pain isn't going to lessen any time soon. We can still check the bathrooms out of caution, but he wont be there for vanity. He wont look like us."
He hadn't seen himself, but he didn't have to. If the poor rogue hadn't even gotten a visit, a warning, there was no preparation and undoubtedly, the pain would be too much to cope with. Red eyes flickered to Jeremiah, giving him a slight nod of acknowledgment. "We're here to move as a unit, Detective, all of us -- not just the Pack." He supposed that term was going to stick now. "The less segregation and being treated like zoo animals," a warning glance was shot to anyone too close, his arm shifting to also include holding onto Lily, his last words a growl, "the better."

Her heart rate having gone down by a magnitude of ten when she saw a familiar face in a horrible situation, one that made her feel things that she wasn't entirely ready to face yet, that same heartbeat began to ease back upwards when she saw the tails and claws some of their number were sporting. Everything stopped dead when she saw the boy with rabbit feet and, oddly, her brain could make sense of her now-relative safety.
It went like this:
1) Some people had ears, tails, and claws. Fangs. Werewolves?? Were...creatures, at least. 2) One of those werecreatures was very distinctly a rabbit. 3) The rabbit wasn't being chomped on for dinner.
The conclusion: Though this whole thing was as ******** surreal as being a warg was she was likely not in any immediate danger. Because the werebunny was safe.
Loosening her grip on Zac her hand slid down into his to hold on with much less urgency and panic than before, wanting (needing) the contact, but not desperate to hide. "We were having a Secret Society meeting in the room back there," she gestured from the way she'd come, "And then everything happened."
Since it seemed the bathrooms were where everyone wanted to go she began to shift towards the nearest bathroom so that she didn't get left behind. Left behind was not only a horrible book series and movie, it was also just a plain bad thing to be.

Chris flicked his eyes towards Lucas at the admonition, only managing to give something akin to a small frown. "I wouldn't know," He offered in reply, not trying to be aggressive. Be like Autumn, be good. "This is a little out of my normal scope, in terms of things that are actively trying to kill me and people I know."
Too late, that already came out sounding bitter.
He flicked his eyes down, looking around to see who else was there and a flash of familiar hair, face, grabbed his attention again. Looking again, there was yet another of his students. Except now with bunny ears.
"Jamie!?" He called out, both shocked and now incredibly worried. What was his count up to now, four students? He all but ignored Jer in his moves to try and get closer.
"Obviously," Jeremiah replied to Lucas. "However I meant that your pack especially will want to stick closer. Not that you need to be treated any differently than normal." He was one of the last people who would do so.
"This isn't about just finding the target but also relocating injured back down to the first floor. People hide in bathrooms."

It was selfish and Jamie knew it, but it felt good to know his pack was on his side and believed in him, even though he still didn't believe in himself. "If you say so, Lucas..." he muttered. "I d-don't want anything bad to happen to anyone else." The smell of blood from downstairs never quite went away, especially as more people who had witnessed the scene or been injured themselves began to filter in.
It smelled awful. He squeezed Lily's hand, muttering a very quiet "thank you" as he did so. In fact, he planned on holding it for a while, but then someone else caught his attention.
Head snapping around like an alert rabbit's would, his eyes widened. "M-M-Mr. Watts?!" he bubbled, momentarily forgetting himself and what he looked like. Letting go of Lily's hand, he awkward bunny-hopped a few steps closer. "Y-You're here??"
He also momentarily forgot they were supposed to be organizing a search, unfortunately.

Jack sidled closer to Chel and murmured, "Don't know if that's a good idea right now. Unless you darted back down the stairs quick. I'm staying, though." He wasn't about to get more secondhand accounts about this sort of stuff, not if he had a choice to follow. Sometimes getting the right shot meant being risky--he'd read up on more than enough National Geographic photographers who had done some insane s**t to get close enough to the animals they were pursuing.
Although, as a few had said, probably not a good idea to make a parallel between these weres with animals. Jack wished he could honestly get better shots of there particular animal affinities and interview them, learn more about what the ******** everyone else seemed in on, but now wasn't the time it seemed.
"At least sticking close to the police can't hurt," he added, ready to follow Jeremiah to the pale purple bathroom. "Or a couple of particularly sharp-clawed people."

Thorne didn't mind that Lucas didn't come to him. Okay, he minded a little. But? There was a killer on the loose. Now wasn't the time for romantics -
Said his mind to his feet as they moved.
But they moved anyways.
Thorne didn't bother with theatrics or anything that would keep them from going fast, fast, fast. He heard Lucas speak to his - Pack? Alright. Pack. Lucas had a pack now. But he moved swiftly, far faster than the first night when he'd stopped the dumbbell from clobbering him over the head.
"Lucas."
His voice was a low hiss of sound, commanding. It was the sort of voice you couldn't choose not to listen to. He'd thrown it away after leaving the army, but old haunts never stopped, apparently.
He pushed his hand to the others neck, gentle. Enough to say hello without saying it out loud. To say I love you, without saying it out loud.
"I'm here. If you need anything - if the people - your pack - needs anything. I'm here." He tilted his head, eyes gentle and contrasting the steel, the warmth, the hunger to protect in his voice. It was hard to look away. It was hard to look at Jamie and Lily - pack? - Lucas's pack? - his smile gentle and inviting.
"What's up? Now's really not the time for meet-and-greets, but yell Thorne if you need me for anything, yeah?"
It was painful to drop his hand from Lucas and step back. It was painful to let go. s**t, s**t, s**t. He turned his eyes to Jeremiah.
"Bathrooms, huh? Sounds like fun."
The last time he'd said that though, he'd encountered a giant spider, and he wasn't sure he was ready to repeat that instance again just yet.

Chris only managed to give a bit of a strangled laugh, realizing that Other Ashdown really was out to ******** with him. Another student. "'Course I am, free food and I'm a volunteer. I'm still a college student," He admitted, realizing that had never come up in class. Of course it never came up. He was a teacher.
"I should really be asking you that," He said rather amused, moving to cross the distance and get closer. He crouched, dropping to Jamie's level. "..Is it bad I kind of expected a fish tail maybe? You are more of a fish person."
It was a bad, bad attempt at the joke but he was currently not trying to freak out and losing a very tenuous grip on the situation.
Despite the reunion though he was ready to follow to the pale purple bathroom.

Chel looked at Jack like he was ******** insane.
By all accounts, they were ******** insane.
"Jack," and she grabbed his arm, but let Lily go. "A person just <******** died." She didn't want to go on a goose chase to kill another person. She didn't want to go get killed herself.
And she didn't want Jack to do that either, even if he was wont to get his scoop. "Where's Connor?" she asked, weakly avoiding the decision.

Shun stood by, furrowing his brow. He honestly felt like there were too many people here, and he still didn't like the looks of the small gang of clawed folk. Jeremiah seemed...familiar with at least one of them. The way he spoke made it sound like he knew more about this than he had let on earlier.
He turned towards the red eyed one, who seemed to be the leader of the...Pack.
"What can you tell us about him, then? Since he seems to be one of you."
Werewolves... He'd think that this was some bizarre body modification cult, but just looking at some of the things on these people didn't quite add up to that. He was having difficulty believing that there lycanthropy existed in reality, despite what he saw before him. And if it somehow was true... what could he do about it? The fairy tales always went on about how only silver could truly harm a werewolf. His bullets sure as hell were not silver.
He nodded once to Mercer, stepping closer to the people bathroom cautiously.

Weird cat: acquired.
And now for act two of the weirdo animal show... out of the corner of her eye, Lina spots a flash of blue. The weird bird? And then she sees:
High above. Below is the carnage of the Concourse, below is the second floor crew. She can hear voices, but they're not loud, they're not distinct, and they lack the melody she knows she should sense... and then she sees herself, dark-haired next to Zac.
Her familiar swoops down, a heady sensation like the first descent on a rollercoaster.
It chirps a little melody and preens Lina's hair, watching her out of brown eyes the exact shade of hers.

Rosie listened passively to the argument, growing antsy. There were two lobos now and... was that a bunny? She didn't know. Also apparently a cat. Maybe I got drugged and this is all a dream. Very unlikely.
"Searching the bathrooms sounds good. Can we split into men and women groups to search the perspective sides?" It'd go a bit quicker, and she had a feeling if there was anyone injured inside the restrooms they would probably want to see someone of their own gender, instead of a mob of tense, angry strangers. Mob of tense females >>> mob of tense mixed people.
