Aspires to be a famous artist
Username: Lural
Kid's Name: Meadow
Personality: Like his brother, Meadow loves art. However, unlike Wren, he loves to run outside and find the hardest to find places to sit and draw. The more dirt they collect on the journey, the more worth while the art was. He loves painting, finger painting, pottery... anything that gets his hands dirty.
Unlike Wren, Meadow doesn't need things to be perfect. The less perfect something is, the more perfect the art. He has no problems with scrapping an art project or starting over, or even finishing something that looks terrible, because it's all part of "the process."
Meadow isn't the very studious type. He would rather be swimming or running around with friends or his brother, rather then stay home and do homework. He LOVES people and has some boundary issues. It would not be unheard of for him to walk up to strangers and hug them before introductions. The more people around, the better. He's a social butterfly.
Prompt Response: Meadow chose not to go to camp. All throughout the summer, Meadow sent letters to Wren.
Dear Wren
How are you liking camp? Things at home are ok. It's a little lonely without you, but I went to a lake today. Some older kids set up a tire swing and let me take turns with them swinging and jumping into the lake. It was a blast! We roasted weenies for lunch, and there were lots of marshmallows too. Then we went fishing. Are there fun things like that at camp? One of the older kids said you get to learn fun camp songs when you go to camp. Did you learn any camp songs? Will you teach them to me when you come home?
Hope you're having fun!

Dear Wren
You wouldn't guess what happened today! I was out looking for a place to draw, and it suddenly started raining! In the summer! Can you believe it? Everything got soaked, and the road turned to mud, but it was fun because there were so many puddles! You know that dirt path out back? I made a lot of mud sculptures along the side of it today. I'm going to go back out tomorrow and see how many survived the night. I hope I can get you a picture.
Stay dry! (or not)
Meadow
PS: None of my mud sculptures lasted the night.

Dear Wren
Are you still enjoying camp? Have you made a lot of friends yet? I made a new friend today. They were visiting the neighbors, but they had a girl our age. She let me ride her bike. It was really hard. My tail kept hitting the wheels and I fell down a lot. But she kept letting me try and eventually I was able to ride without falling. My legs are kind of banged up now, but that's just proof of how fun it was! I hope you're having as much fun as me at camp.
Missing you,
Meadow

You won't believe it, but I've been assigned summer reading now! Apparently I can't just paint and draw and play all day! I'm supposed to read 3 books before school starts. I don't want to! This might be the first time I really wish I'd gone to camp with you, for reasons other then it's weird that you're not sleeping in the same room with me. Have you had to read books at camp?
Write me soon!

Dear Wren
This might be the last letter of the summer, I know you'll be leaving camp soon. I was at the lake again the other day, and there were some other kids our age. Can you believe it, that there are kids who don't know how to swim? They were just staring at the water like it was going to eat them! So I spent the afternoon teaching them how to swim. Teaching is really hard, but you know what? It was a lot of fun too! Once they learned how to swim a little, we spent all day at the lake swimming. Actually, we've been there every day the last 4 days playing. The tire swing was taken down because it was "dangerous" but I was able to climb a tree and jumped into the water. It was scary! But so much fun! I can't wait for you to come home so I can show you all the pictures I drew. Have you been drawing? I hope so. You'll have to show me everything you made at camp.
See you soon!
