"It's the only way to find answers," Jeremiah agreed with a nod. Talking could happen later. He glanced around to the group, to the people gathered. Some were crouched because of what they had seen, others already recovering. The detective could sympathize, remembering the one that had knocked him to the ground. There were answers somewhere in this forest and if the trail lead them to those answers, he would follow. Never mind that the book probably had more to show them. He would fall into step easily next to Algie, only pausing a moment to see where the ground had been gouged. To continue to ignore the sinking feeling. That there were inhuman things here. ... but that he already knew (Sunny's too many teeth came to mind). Jeremiah looked for Zac, to meet his eyes, give him that familiar short nod of his head. That this ... this was definitely the case they were all working on together.

"Algie... don't get too far ahead alright?" Zac stepped forward to keep up with him, though his step was uncertain, his skin...paler than normal, He swallowed hard and took in a deep breath, letting it out shakily before glancing down at himself to make sure that no injuries had actually transferred to himself. "Hoof prints, feet, fingers dragged through the muck. Voices calling us to 'come and see'... honestly the ...Library is starting to have felt less creepy than this. At least it was dry even if it was...twisted." He murmured.

... Okay that was unsettling. And really painful. And unsettling painful. And a lot of other words Erin would use except she was in too much pain to say them. Or think them. Great. So there were monsters. It wasn't she'd get eaten, it was that she'd be carved up to be eaten.
Erin glanced at Asiya, and nodded, not exactly trusting herself to not say something completely ridiculous again in response to the weird memory... thing. She did happen to make sure her feet were still in tact though.

The pain, just from that memory, it set Chris' teeth on edge and he gave it his all not to cry out. Everything was getting worse and god he knew that voice, knew it way to well. Heliodora, loud in everything, even when she was getting her damn foot cut off.
He licked his lips, tasting blood (and realized a second late it was from the fact he'd bitten down so hard on them he'd caused them to bleed and not the memory) and closed his umbrella finally. Anything to keep his hands busy.
"If there were any doubts about who's foot that really was I can back up it's hers. That was definitely Heliodora," Chris said to no one in particular, making his way over to Autumn and grabbing her wrist loosely. It was more of a question, if he could grab her hand, but the majority of it was meant to intend he wanted to stick with her. He just really, did not want to talk at the moment.

It had been a bit of lighthearted fun, keeping his eyes closed against the horrors in front of him. Rabbit had seen a corpse before, he'd seen cuts so deep they almost hit bone, and some optimistic part of him hoped that all of this depressing foot s**t was a dream not unlike the hazy nightmares that had plagued him this past week. All good reasons not to actually watch.
The memory changed all that. His eyes opened wide as it washed over him, blind to the damp, muddy world while the vision played out. And the pain. Rabbit clenched his teeth so abruptly that he bit his tongue, and as ill advised as muddling his thoughts might have been if this place was real, out came his flask anyway. After a couple of calming, blood-tinged gulps, he leaned forward and braced his hands against his thighs, catching his breath to the sight of the discarded foot.
"Yeah. Let's go." It was what he had wanted anyway, even if he wasn't so sure he did anymore.Pixie Nyxie sorry for cutting in, but me three with the late replies ouo Quote: feel free to take his flask or have tentacles come out of it i don't know what happens to food and drink in other ashdown halp

When Chris came back, Autumn took his hand without another word to the issue. As upset as she was... lord, this poor boy. She could only imagine the hell of actually knowing someone who was (more than likely) dead in front of you. There weren't any words of comfort, any solace she could offer. Instead, Autumn could be there. And damn right she was going to be. She gave Chris's hand a gentle squeeze, and fell back in with the group examining the tracks.Pixie Nyxie Autumn and Chris have joined your party!

Kalisha didn't get to answer Asiya before the vision hit - pretty much like a truck. Kalisha very nearly stumbled from the pain, unable to tell that it wasn't her own for a moment, not until the vision faded away. And from the look on everyone else's faces, they had seen it too. Kalisha swallowed, hard - actually unsure if she was going to be ill or not for a moment. "We should stay together, if... If that thing is still nearby..." Alone... Alone, they would be easy prey.

Brie was all about NOT examining anything at the moment because....
Her hand shook under the umbrella, and the anxiety of being outside while it still poured, coupled with the anxiety and tenseness of the group was making the young woman on the verge of the first breakdown.
The only reason she was handling it so well was because she was putting all her spoons on making herself just breathe.
"What, no, what." She stared at Tory and then towards Rabbit before the flash of memory hit and she was gasping.
She hated this, every single bit of this. SHE HATED EVERYTHING about this right now.
"I can't, I don't think I can do this." She looked at the tracks even as two more people joined their group. " I can't breathe."Moonstone Dazzle Just let her wallow in the back

To his absolute surprise, Tory heard agreement with his suggestion of following the tracks into the forest in a large group. Even from the guy who was apparently a cop. Maybe it wasn't such a stupid idea after all. He listened as a guy who looked like a high-schooler spoke, confirming the name of the owner of the foot. Seemed like they'd all had that memory rush over them, much like the voice urging them to come and see. Poor kid, he'd known Heliodora. That had to be rough. The kid and one of the girls who had been talking about going into the woods joined them and he gave them a wan smile. Looked like they were all going to go down together. Then Brie finally said something -- she sounded terrified. "Brie, you okay?" Tory gingerly placed a hand on her shoulder. She was shaking like a leaf. "Hey, c'mon." Instinctively he pulled the blonde girl into a reassuring hug. "Breathing's easy, okay? It's just air in and out. You can do it."

The group proceeds along the muddy path, following the bloodied footprints. Though they're expecting monsters, nothing approaches them; it's just quiet, and more quiet, and the breathing of their peers, and the patter of rain on umbrellas. After a little while, they enter a clearing. It's there that they see something... dark, with long, lithe limbs, peering at them from the forest. Its eyes, all six of them, glow a soft wintermint green, pupilless and unseeing. (At the back of the group, Aleksy throws up again.)

The walk was long. Unfortunately long. It might've been the uneasy silence, or the sudden lack of water on her back, but Autumn was losing her mind. All the poor people in the group were falling apart, too. It was a wonder any of them were holding it together. When they arrived in the clearing, there were... eyes. Something was there. Last time, she'd stood back and let others take the heat. Not this time.
"Hey, you. Forest... person," She started, voice low and tone even. Low voices were calming. People liked low voices.
"What's going on? What are you? ...Please don't hurt us?"

Jeremiah's immediate reaction, the first thing he did, was take a step in front of Algie - putting the other man behind him, as well as making sure Zac was as well. The detective had no hesitation, eyes glancing to Autumn as she spoke to it. The young woman was given a nod, showing that the detective was there for back-up. For the moment, he was content to let her doing the talking. He was just watching the thing for the time being. If there was a change, a shift ... He was waiting. ( You did not jump.)

Was that one of the... people... that cut off Heliodora's foot? Leila didn't know what to make of the new arrival to the group besides that it was bilaterally symmetrical. She kept back and let Autumn test the space.
Autumn was so great.

A very nervous Chris shuffled his feet behind Autumn, letting her speak to the... whatever the the thing (or was it things? lots of eyes there) was. Tree person, maybe? He was dubbing it that for now, since it was a forest and it was a tall thing.
Vaguely, the idea of the Beast from over the garden wall came to mind, but he banished the thought. Not the time, not the place. What came next to mind though was that Heliodora could be around and while he planned to let Autumn do most of the talking, he still wanted to ask.
"Heliodora?" He inquired, in the same tone as Autumn, "You there?"
