Terry nodded then lightly shoulder bumped Seung with a smile. “Let me know if anything else gets proven. I’m curious to see what religions have it right in at least some aspects.” He might have to look into other types of religions to to compare out of curiosity.
He gave a small shrug. “It would be interesting to see and experience some of the different holidays but I don’t plan on imposing myself on your family for them.” He said after a moment. “If they come up when I’m there with you I would be happy with you show me how you celebrate it as I’m sure will happen if you are here in the US during a holiday.” While on one hand he would love to go see and experience more of Seung’s culture, he didn’t want to end up stealing away time with his family when he wasn’t even sure if his family would like him or not.

Nodding his head to the others words. “Can see about holiday.” Maybe he could bring him, he’d try. He knew what the other had said, had heard it, but he’d still try as it would be a learning experience for the other and that might be how to play it to his family. He certainly could not, and would not, mention they were dating. That would cause issues, a lot of them, especially with the eldest members of his family.
“Would like to experience ones here...Thanksgiving was...interesting and Halloween fun. Christmas was different.” Seung answered slowly.

“Ok, if you are sure.” Terry said with a smile. He still didn’t want to cause any trouble but if Seung wanted to try then he wouldn’t say no. That did remind him though that he still needed to ask the other to see if this was going to stay a secret from his family.
“Those are some of the biggest holidays here.” He nodded. “We have quite a few smaller ones that don’t take a lot to celebrate. Some of them just give people days off work, others bring in small festivals.” He then thought about it for a moment. “I take it that Halloween isn’t celebrated in South Korea? And I imagine that Christmas isn’t really celebrated the same way since it’s mostly a Christian holiday?”

“Halloween is...new. Not many dress up, mostly foreign people but is catching on. Mostly in big cities, like Seoul, but still not a lot. Christmas is couples holiday. Gift exchange is...small...something important, needed, and not a lot of gifts. Many watch tv if they are alone for it.” Like he’d always been. He would remain at home and watch tv or go out and get food. It wasn't such a big thing there.
“Is also getting bigger, commercialized...sales and decorations...is slow though...Christianity...on the rise - lots of churches.” Which might surprise some. But it was on the rise and with lots of churches cropping up. He’d gone to school with a fair amount of Christians in fact, not that it mattered really.
“Famous singer, Christian also, spoke out against gay marriage because of religion.” He said thinking about the incident with the Super Junior singer.

“I see. I wish Christmas was celebrated more like that here, I think it tends to get blown out of proportions at times with all of the decorating, pretty as it can be.” Not to mention a lot of kids get into the mindset of ‘I’m getting this’ instead of ‘I’m giving this’ a good portion of the time. Something smaller and more personal would probably bring back the meaning behind the holiday at least.
“We have a few of those as well.” He said with a nod. Many times celebrities had spoken out against it, though many had spoken for it as well. “I assume they had to apologize at some point for it?” He knew that quite a few celebrities who had spoken out had been made to apologize, thanks to their managers usually.

“Christmas back home is changing some...becoming more like here - slowly. Family is slowly becoming less important too.” There were a lot of issues Korea was slowly facing, or was really facing now seriously, with the family and such. For as great as his country was it did have it’s issues - a good deal of them.
“Did, end of that day...deleted it all then. But upset people because of how he behaves on stage.” He said biting his lip wondering if it would be easy to explain, should be - right? “Does skinship, lots of it...for fans. But then says it does not exist - being gay and other things.” But he could pretend and play around with it on stage, for fans and for money. It was an annoying thing and while he liked the group he was not a fan of that particular singer. Religion had nothing to do with it but the others actions did.
“Other things you want to know about?” He asked wondering what else the other might be curious about, he wasn’t trying to change topics just answer any questions he’d left the other with due to all the videos which he’d been sent.

“Sorry that’s happening over there as well.” Terry said and squeezed Seung’s hand. “How is family becoming less important?” He asked with a frown. Not that he was surprised since family was less important nowadays in the US than it used to be according to his grandparents when they visited them.
“Ah, so they were rightly upset about him being hypocritical in actions.” He said with a wince. It was never fun to follow celebrities who would do things like that. When asked if he had anything else he wanted to ask about he gave a small smile and a questioning look. “Well, the talk of someone who denies homosexuality exists does have me wondering how your parents see it.” He would hate to say or do something in front of them that got Seung in trouble.

“Is happening.” He confirmed with a nod of his head. “Half...or so...elderly poor...very poor. Won’t ask family, no...government help or savings...only now government and others trying to help. Many elderly not in contact with family because no money, don’t want to be seen like they are - shame. Family is busy also. In past elders would live with children and be taken care of - not so much now. Many elderly...kill themselves. High rate.” He said making a hand motion to indicate as much. But times were changing and it was known and easy to see. “Birth rate low...marry older now - focused on career and since live at home, till married or can support self, many have no children either.” Many reasons were there for that, but they all went hand in hand in hand. “Aging population…” The same problem Japan was facing and for similar, if not the same, reasons.
Nodding his head he smiled. “Yes! And being idol...should not do one thing and say another - bad for fans to see and read. Is not good to do….hard enough to be gay, have to be in hiding, but to have it made game of...made into showing off on stage and than be written about like that - very wrong to community...to hiding fans.” If he just toyed with it, did skinship...that would have been fine by Seung. But to say such things...that had crossed a line to him.
“My parents?” Surprised, and yet also not, he ran his fingers through his hair, moving his hand from the others waist to do so before replacing it. “Would not approve...am to marry and have children - carry on family. Would dishonor family...they would not approve...I don’t know what they would do if they knew.” He said seriously, and it worried him as it always had. he’d always been very careful about it, one wrong step and if they found out...It had been hard to keep his emotions over Akihiko’s death to what they should be when a friend died, not someone you loved as he had.

Terry took a deep breath as he heard the explanation the other was giving. He was immediately taken back to the high suicide rates he had found while looking up some of the other topics. He gave a slow nod as he took everything in then shifted so he was pressed against Seung. “I… remember seeing the suicide rates when I was doing research. That had worried me a lot.” He said then went quiet for a moment. “I have to ask, have you ever felt like you wanted or needed to hurt yourself?” He asked, worry written clearly on his face.
“I understand.” It would have been very, very frustrating and a big let down if he was in the same position. He had been lucky to have understanding parents when it came to his bisexuality. Something he was reminded of yet again when Seung continued and described how his family felt. He squeezed the others hand again as he listened. “I’m sorry.” He said, knowing it wouldn’t mean much of anything. “I’m sorry you have to have that weight over your head.”

Terry had looked up the suicide rates, or had found them, how? What had his boyfriend been looking up which had him finding those statistics. He wasn’t even sure of them, he just knew how prevalent it was, it didn’t really...shock him to hear about a suicide. It had worried the other though, obviously, reading such things. His hand moved from the others waist to run through the others hair. “No...never. Depressed - yes...tires and empty...yes. Never wanted to hurt self. Just not leave house at times.” He answered honestly. Normally he’d never admit such, he was good at telling lies- very good. But he didn’t lie to Terry, though he knew he’d promised him something that he likely couldn’t and wouldn’t keep. But that was a different thing to him.
“Is ok...have accepted it long ago...when I realized I did not like females. Knew it would be case with parents and family.” He’d had years to come to accept it and hide it, to get used to covering it up. At first it was hard, Akihiko’s death had tested him, but he was good at this point. He could hide it easily.
“Why worried I might have wanted to hurt self?” He asked the other, concerned why he’d worry about it.

Terry relaxed a bit when Seung said he hadn’t ever felt the urge to hurt himself. With how high the rates were he wouldn’t have been surprised if he had but he was glad he hadn’t. He then pulled the other into a hug when he admitted to feeling depressed and overworked before. The overworked wasn’t a surprise to him seeing how he had found him at the clinic that one time but the fact that he had felt depressed saddened him. “If any of those feelings creep up again then let me know alright? I’ll do my best to help you.” He promised with a serious look.
He nodded in understanding though decided that he would try and get Seung to spend more time with his parents so he could be in an environment where adults would be accepting. It wouldn’t be the same he knew but it might help a bit. At the last question he let out a small sigh. “Probably a mix of things. Mostly because of how high the suicide rates were but then I remembered finding you at the clinic and it sort of added to the worry.”

Surprised he nodded slowly. He would keep it in mind. In the past, growing up, he’d kept it to himself and just accepted and dealt with it. He’d had his fun when he could, making cosplay outfits and going to cons with Akihiko and a female friend of theirs. He had gone to the gym, still did, and he did take breaks when he needed to. He wasn’t as bad as some people was, it was one reason he’d kept it to himself. He wasn’t as worked as others were. It also wouldn’t look good, and he had no right to complain when others - many others were over worked not just himself. For someone to tell him to go to them when he felt that way...it was new. It was what he did for his cousin and sister because he didn’t want them suffering as much as some did.
“I will...I will remember and go to you.” He answered verbally before brushing his lips to the others and ruffling the others hair gently.
“Other worries?” He asked, deciding it best to ask and let Terry get out whatever he needed to, ask what he needed and voice concerns and worries.

Terry looked at him for a moment then nodded. So long as Seung kept his word about telling him then he would try not to worry as much. He would still keep an eye on him to make sure he didn’t over work himself but would be able to relax better knowing that the other would keep it in mind. “Thank you.” he said then pulled him into a soft but quick kiss.
When Seung asked if he had other worries he thought for a moment then nodded slightly. “I know in one of your video’s you mentioned your waist size. One of the other statistics I found was on eating disorders in South Korea.” He then gave him a small sheepish smile and a half shrug. “I’ve seen you eat and it never looked like you had any problems so I just figured you were naturally skinny. Not to mention all the exercise would keep you that way too. But I thought I would just double check to make sure?”

Not at all bothered by it, since he had welcomed whatever the other might ask and any concerns or worries he had. He would not have asked if it would have bothered him but he nodded slowly. “Sometimes forget to eat.” Like when he was overworking himself, even he’d admit to overworking himself on occasion though from what Terry said he overworked himself more than he realized simply because it was normal.
“Might not eat enough for work outs...but eat healthy and I do eat.” So maybe he didn’t eat enough? He ate the normal meals and normal proportions, nothing else aside from little snacks. He didn’t overeat or eat more than he felt he should. “Yes, normal for us to be slender.” He agreed with the other on that, it was true. “Just right in size...much more and would be chubby.” Well by Korean standards, not American and that he wasn’t used to either.
