"It's almost noon," Rodney said from the bathroom, still squeezing water out of his hair. He emerged with a dry shirt, rubbing his head with the towel.
"...I don't think you're tired," he looked at Melvin smiling happily at Lawrence on the couch. He felt like talking with Lawrence now was overstepping boundaries, which he didn't want to do. "But I... I think Seven and I are going to go for a walk."

"The situation isn't over. You're still sick, Jan. I want to talk more after you have slept. We need to make a plan for getting your levels back up. I can't see you going to Russia at all right now wen you are this bad off."
He said, letting Jan head to bed. "You're not fit for much work right now and your superiors will send you home if you pass out around them - if Harrison hasn't already notified them. I'm sure with the bloodwork on file, their is plenty of evidence you shouldn't be running about until the issue is fixed to that of a healthy status of living. And not just fixed for now. Fixed so it does t happen again. You can be picky all you want about this but I'm not letting you kill yourself for some reason you won't tell me."

"That is not your choice to make Melvin. Russia I mean. One instance of being woozy is not sufficient to disqualify me from my tasks I should hope, I would be miserable confined to the island."
Rodney got a cold look for his input. "And pray tell how you would know how tired I am?" He shook his head. "Enjoy your walk."
Melvin got an inclined brow as he stood, running his hand through his uncharacteristically ruffled blonde hair.
"You are welcome to join me if you tire."

"This isn't one instance that won't repeat itself. You are DYING! I can't believe you are just making this out like its nothing! Your body is trying to tell you something. The read outs say it if you don't believe it. That amount of damage takes time. It's not some overnight occurance from skipping lunch, Jan!"
He rose up with him. "How can you think of going to Russia when you aren't even going to pay attention to this? How is being here on this base any different from being there? It's not like it's forever anyways. It's until you get better. Russia won't vanish in the time it takes you to get better. You should take some time to focus on yourself."

Rodney took his jacket from the coat rack.
Where are we going?
"I'll be at the library," he said. He zipped up the coat, "Have a good nap."

Lawrence paused, the blanket across his shoulders like a draped robe, and he looked Melvin over. Something in his expression seemed to soften.
"You really are worried aren't you?" he said, his tone becoming gentle and affectionate. "Melvin." and he closed the distance between them, ignoring Rodney completely as he reached to place a hand on the other man's shoulder, leaning in to kiss his chin. "Okay. If you say it is a big deal then I will treat it as one. I may not think so but I will trust you with this as best I can."
He gave him a sad little smile. "If you think I'm better off not going back to Russia for the moment I will see what I can do to get out of it and try to focus on me more. I care about you. A lot. If you are worried about me then I will be too. We can work through this together."
Squeezing his shoulder reassuringly he added. "Now come to bed for a little bit?" he looked innocently over at one of the walls and lowered his voice. "You don't even need to sleep."

He expected a fight. He expected arguing. Instead, he breathed, both a soft ex haul of relief and one of surprise as Jan leaned in, smelling of rich shampoo and still slightlybdampndesoute Melvin's gentle towel patting, and kissed him. He conceded and He was suddenly feeling strained timid heart racing all this time and the present sense of worry and dread.
Jan's warm invitation had him perking up in more ways than one, but he took another deep breath. "Okay, but maybe you should be the one relaxing this time and take it easy." He said, up for doing any of the more strenuous work. He stood up and took the towels off the couch to follow after him, tossing them into the hamper.
It was a good thing Rodney was going to the Library now.

Rodney locked the door behind him.
Why had Harrison intervened? Because it was his job, as a Moon? Sometimes he thought he might be better suited there, but they were on the front lines...and that wasn't a place he belonged.
He wasn't sure if there was anywhere he really did.
That's good, right? That's how change happens.
"Maybe," Rodney said, "I'm glad you're here, anyway."
We can both be weird. What are you going to go look up?
"I was going to see what they had on clones."
