((apologies on coming in so late!))

Eternal Grus

Grus wasn't one to run headlong into a strange place. When most of the people had chosen to disappear into the portal, she hung back, waffling. Did she go, did she stay? She wanted to help, but the idea of being trapped in the Negaverse made her wholly uncomfortable...

In the end, she decided to go, and as she stepped into the portal, she saw that she was painfully behind. Most of the folks had already split up and were heading toward various buildings. The castle didn't even get a look from her; she knew that would be a suicide mission. She almost called out for them to come back, but she knew it would be in vain. Plus, she might alert the enemy to their arrival.

In the end, she chose to go with a group toward what seemed to be training grounds. Upon getting close to the building, she heard the unmistakable noises of battle, and she froze. Her early senshi fear of battle rooted her to the spot, while her mind worked frantically to rid herself of the paralysis.

"They need help." she mumbled to herself, willing her legs to move. It didn't sound like a battle with Negaverse people. Probably a youma. She could do that.

She just had to take a step.

The youma was far larger than she anticipated. She stood at the outskirts of the battle, staring at the great scorpion surrounded by Order fighters, all trying to get a shot in. The floor was covered in snow, there was a metallic tang of magic in the air, and a great hole in the floor that looked both deep and terrifying. Her heart rate bumped up quickly, and she felt the adrenaline hit. The doubt left her mind, and she prepared to fight.

Feather-Fall Strike!

The feathers materialized, and fired from her outstretched hands toward the scorpion. She used them as a cover to get closer, maybe offer help in taking it down.

Sailor Grus raises her hands, and wind swirls around her, feathers filling up the space until she is unable to be seen. Grus sends the feathers at the enemy. In this super ability, the feathers move faster and the edges are sharper, causing minor cuts/damage (think like a paper cut)
(Grus has no control over the feathers once they leave her. Feel free to have them in your way/help if you'd like!)

Super Varuna

Varuna winced when the snow took out more than just the youma. Senshi and knights had been around its legs too, and she felt kind of guilty for making them slip and hurt themselves, too. But it wasn’t like they had much of a choice in the matter. And it wasn’t like she was doing it to hurt them on purpose.

Concerned for the others she’d knocked down, she didn’t see the youma attack until it was almost too late. Thankfully Palatine was there to grab her arm and pull her out of the way.

She nodded her head in thanks, her eyes still wide with fear and determination. If they were going to get out of there, they needed to find its weak spots.

“Scorpions have bad eyesight,” she shared, but there was the fact that it hadn’t glowed under blacklight, so maybe it was completely different than other scorpions. It was, in fact, a youma. “We could try,” she added with a shrug. What else did they have to lose? Either try and fight it, or die, probably.

Pulling away from her aunt, she looked to see what the others were doing. A senshi on the outskirts of the battle seemed to have an attack prepared. “Try aiming for its underside!” she called to the eternal (Grus), whom she thought she recalled seeing at some point in a large battle like this, but it could have been years ago.

“Sorry,” she said guiltily as she reached the side of one of the knights she’d knocked down with her attack (Havasu Falls), grabbing onto his arm to help him up all the way, and then reached out to help him with rope around the youma's leg. “Pull?” she asked, hoping he wouldn’t mind that she would rather not wait until the count of three, and also not mind that she jumped in to try and help.

Paris wasn't sure what scared him more, shooting scalpels, or summoning skulls or mini earthquakes. The doorknob popped off the old no longer realy viable entryway and the newly minted knight was just left to sigh to himself once more.

"Oh."

He summoned his skull, stuffing the crystal in it, making a very eerie makeshift lantern.

"I dunno. The door would probably break if we used it. I mean-" He held up the doorknob. They didn't have many options, and rather than shake the earth.
"If you shake the ground, you risk causing a larger quake, and if how unstable the material above us is and the fact we have no coverage-" He trailed off again, moving to the door.
"It'd probably be safe est if we try to remove the door and see what we're working with. If the tunnel is safe we could probably work our way through if not-" He looked up. "I'm not sure we could climb our way out."

Sailor Alcor // Senshi of Cold
Sailor Eleonora // Senshi of Heat

Walking beside Athene, Alcor watched as her sister descended the stairs in front of them with Liryn close by. It worried her somewhat to see Eleonora so eager to press onward, but at least she wasn’t alone and Athene’s words of caution put her mind at ease since she knew her sister well enough to say with certainty that Ele would be more likely to listen to him than to her. Everyone knows it is easier to listen to warnings from a stranger than from a family member since it only made her seem like a worry wart to the Senshi of Heat.

Ahead Eleonora held onto Liryn’s hand, which was a little odd considering only a few minutes ago it had been a paw, but she kept close to him nonetheless. Like several of the others she too held onto a few shards of slightly glowing crystals as they made their descent.

Once the group reached the bottom the Senshi of Heat froze just a few steps past the doorway. Eyes wide enough you could see the whites around her irises she took a staggered step backwards bumping into her sister. “Holy crap….” She muttered beneath her breath after seeing the large youma fall from the ceiling.

Behind her, Alcor swallowed thickly as a shiver of terror racked her spine and had it not of been for Athene she would have grabbed her sister's hand and ran back up the crumbling staircase towards the portal they had entered through. While she knew in her heart that they couldn’t leave the other senshi and knights to fend for themselves, the Senshi of Cold could only remember how difficult the last youma had been; and by comparison, this one looked significantly stronger.

At a loss the bluenette looked over at the Eternal with a searching yet expecting gaze. “What do we do?” She finally asked all the while side glancing at the group they had followed after try to secure the youma’s legs with what looked to be a rope

Eternal Sailor Athene & Mauvian Liryn

To be honest Athene had been a little worried that Liryn might decide to get it into his to try and dash on ahead.

After all from long experience with the mauvian the dark-haired senshi knew that it was certainly a possibility - after he was pretty sure that he had the grey hairs to prove it.

And it was perhaps why it had been something of a surprise when Liryn had instead seemed pretty content to keep by Eleonora's side as the two of them descended the staircase ahead of him and Alcor.

The sounds of some sort of commotion had started to get louder and louder as they got closer and closer to the bottom of the staircase, however even so Athene was not expecting the giant scorpion that awaited them at the staircase end.

He couldn't help but stare at it for one long moment because Eleonora's muttered exclamation had pretty much summed it all up...

However much as Athene wanted to turn and retreat up the staircase, he forced himself to walk forward "I might be able to trap that thing with my magic for a bit if needs be" he said in answer to Alcor's question. "Although I'd need a clearer shot at it in order to do so" and unfortunately standing by the staircase was not going to afford him said clearer shot.

--------------------------------------

Finding the youma at the bottom of the staircase had been something of an unpleasant surprise, however Liryn wasn't particularly phased.

After all it wasn't the first time that the tabby-eared mauvian had faced down a youma and it was probably not going to be the last and whist it was perhaps bigger than the youma that he had come across in the path, Liryn had fought big youma in the past.

He gave Eleonora's hand a gentle squeeze as he continued to stare at the youma and if he had been in mauvian cat form then perhaps he would have hissed at it...

But he wasn't and so he didn't instead opting to gently squeeze Eleonora's hand evn as he continued to look at the youma, his voice cheerful as he said simply "We can totally take it."

Newgrange nodded; using his magic was not particularly high on his list of wants—not when the environment was already so unstable. It was a last resort, if anything, and one he suspected he'd only be driven to use if absolutely necessary. But they still had options they hadn't exhausted yet.

"I don't think climbing out is going to work," he said, resisting the urge to rub his throbbing shoulder. "We knocked a lot loose coming down. With that fight up there, I doubt the ground is going to stay stable. And there's only so many times we can fall before something breaks."

He had finished sweeping the perimeter of the room and found nothing useful, so he wandered to the door to examine it. The door was wood—and Newgrange was certain that it had to be worn with age.

"…It looks wedged into the frame. I don't know if we could swing it open. But it doesn’t look like it's holding the structure up. I think if we break it down, that's our best chance of getting out. We'll be able to see how bad those rocks are on the other side, too."

He was quiet and rubbed the knuckle of one hand against the palm of his other thoughtfully. "If there are no objections, we can work through that. If it's just rubble on the other side, we can pick our way through."

…Unless the entire hallway had crumbled and there was no passage out, but.

One step at a time.

Sailor Altair

She gave a nod in understanding of Paris' and Newgrange's words while continuing her attempts of inwardly battling her frustrations. "T-then, u-um," she began as she looked through the crack in the door left by the doorknob before looking to her two fellow fallen companions after standing upright again, "m-may I perhaps try aiming at the the rocks with scalpel magic while looking through the hole where the doorknob was? Perhaps i-if it hits the rocks it could help in determining if this door and the rock pile can be barged through without crumbling on top of us at the slightest interference?"

((Oof xwx; My many many apologies my head did not wrap around the details the first time reading through gah))

The tail made contact against the hard stone, shaking the ground of the room and spraying venom several feet in each direction landing just short of Palatine, Falias, Alcor, Elenora, Athena, and Liryn. When it make contact with the crystals, it hissed, a horrid smelling steam coming off the light blue rocks. Though it ran off the stones around them, it appeared to be eating through the crystals, dimming the lights around the entrance and those late to the party. There was an acid in that venom. Something protected the stones but other things seemed…weak against it.

As it struggled to get to its feet, the Scorpion began to sense the movement of others around once more but was quickly lost with the echoing vibrations from the horn of Slievenamon. Frustrated, it lifted the Squire it held high, shaking her until something bounced off its side. Turing towards the thrown horn, it swung its claw holding the poor, cursing, Andronicus directly towards Slievenamon, releasing its hold as it did so to let the once captive squire fly with the momentum.

Just as it did, from above came a crash of crystal shards. Leaping to its legs as its back was drilled from the sudden portal appearing above it, the Scorpion didn’t even realize that it had managed to end up with one leg tied by a rope. That was until it was too late and Havasu and Varuna gave a nice yank, pulling it once more off balance. Stumbling back, it quickly lashed out its tail towards the pair, trying to drive the two away from their holding position. Spinning towards them to attack, the feathers from Grus sliced at the base of its tail and top of its leg just before the strike from underneath.

The cry the Scorpion let out a leg on each side went out under it shook the room just as much as the crash it made from falling dropping back to the ground. If Centisima did not move quickly, the painful attack that caused it to drop again would also have caused the youma to drop atop him adding yet another body to the room.

Now it no longer seemed to attack with logic. Tail flying around as quick as a wagging dog’s, claws lashing out, grabbing crystals and breaking them all to throw and wherever someone moved. The youma was angry! If they didn’t keep on their toes now, anyone could have been crushed by flailing scorpion claws!
---

Yet the ‘den’ was not the only thing to shake as the youma fell once more, this time harder than before and enough to shake the lower levels of the Academy. Dallol and Corinth would not avoid the stairs shaking around them making it rather hard to keep their feet.

Locked in the room, Paris, Newgrange, and Altair would have felt their prison shift as well. Around the door frame being pushed in by the stones, they would have noticed a small break forming. Their chance at freedom? Clear blockade was clearly twofold: wooden door and a stone pile built up around it. But the more the battle raged on and shook them, the less time they had to decide…

Because with this shake, a stone from above had come through, landing back where they had been and causing a large indent in the floor. Too much weight and their floor would break through!

Corinth, Page of Neptune

As the ground shook, Corinth swore, and wrapping his arms around Dallol, moved to push her against the wall of the stairwell. He sheltered her with his body, dropping them both down so they were as small as possible against the wall of the stairwell. The last thing he wanted was for both of them to fall down the stairwell and into lord knew what below.

He braced as best as he could against the wall hoping that it would hold.
Looking down at Dallol he cleared his throat. "You okay?" He asked not knowing if the shaking would stop.

"Do we keep going?" He asked, not sure if they would be able to maintain their footing if they did.

Sailor Altair

Dear Heavenly Lord, please help me think! Altair sent up a silent, desperate prayer as she positioned herself in front of the door on one knee. "I-If m-my s-scalpels are reflected by the rocks, the door may be a shield; for safety please stand aside in case my attack backfires, P-Paris, N-Newgrange." It felt like the world was crashing down, collapsing into itself but she hoped so much that she was just trying to be overwhelmed by her panic, that it was all in her head with regards to the magnitude of hopelessness that was needed to be combated. And she would fight what she could inside herself and for a solution here and now in the present reality. She recalled when she had managed to cast her magic most recently with success and it was against a youma at an arcade. She imagined the rocks were that defeated youma as she cast her attack and fired it, seven scalpels appearing in front of the fingers she had sent through the opening where the doorknob used to be at as she yelled with heartpounding urgency, "S-SCALPEL SHOT!" And then those scalpels went flying at the targeted pile of rocks behind the door.

Quote:
Teh Frantic Newbie's Sailor Scout Attack: Scalpel Shot

The gist of this attack of hers is that from her index finger aimed in a gesture as though holding a gun with one hand at her target, she fires a shot akin to the sudden stab of a group of scalpels all at once. These scalpels' blades are single-edged. Both her index fingers are pointed in like fashion and start out being brought up in an X shape in front of her chest, but while firing her non-firing hand draws sideways in a further bend with the elbow on the same surface level as both her shoulders somewhat giving the illusion of an archer's form. In terms of visual flare, two circular formations of scalpels on both sides of her meet behind her forming a V, and while holding their presence as threatening projectiles move in the same angle with her aim despite the attack being launched only from a formation launched in front of her aimed fingertip.

Her attack is aimed at a target then immediately fired but certainly also can miss by being wrongly aimed or dodged. She prefers to attack as close to her target as she can manage but her shot can reach a target up to 5 feet away. Scalpel Shot does not summon real scalpels but rather the visual illusion of them that includes a cluster of 7 hurtling straight toward the target. But what is real is the stabbing pain felt when the ghostly blades hit, piercing up to 1/8th of an inch deep and possibly causing the injury to bleed though far more rarely in comparison to the pain caused. She can use this attack 3 times per day.

Nirvana, Page of Pluto
(Currently kneeling at the bottom of the stairs)

Nirvana had taken direction from Havasu looking to where Slievenamon had gone, only to find that she had, not a moment before, been picked up and tossed about by the giant youma. He cursed himself and as she was thrown he rushed to her side, falling to his knees to help her. It was only as he had made and intent to help her up that he noticed yet another flying in his direction.

He braced for Andronicus, ready to take the brunt of the hit and he cursed. ((if he is hit)) He staggering back and falling hard against his spine. "Well...that was useful..."

He forced himself to stand, he looking to Slievenamon. "Are you alright?" He hated that he had not been fast enough to protect her, and as the beast flailed about he had to be careful to avoid the claws. He leaping now and then and trying to get to his ally. "We need to get out of reach! We can do no good if all we are doing is avoiding it!"

He held out a hand to her, offering it as a means to get her up off the ground and away fast enough that they could regroup and figure out what would work best. "We need to get your horn back..."

Centisima, Senshi of Centipedes

Centisima didn’t have time to be pleased that he’d landed his attack because he was about to squashed by a giant scorpion youma and that was not cool. He threw himself sideways as the youma crashed down, feeling the vibrations and whoosh of air. The whole world seemed to be shaking and he was horribly aware that he could have been a senshi pancake.

The youma was flailing about and Centisima scrambled to create distance. He never really quite managed to get to his feet, instead on hands and knees he made it to a wall and then simply sat there, getting his breath back and trying to convince his legs to stop trembling.

“Holy s**t.”

Andronicus Squire of Uranus

Oh she was going to be sick, oh she was so going to be siiii---- Then she was abourne. Now, it would be here than she'd make some cool aerial recovery and land on her feet. If she had the ability to do so. Or even just the ability to make some sort of hardened air surface to land on or against.

Or windcrafting. Or anything except gravity.

The squire tumbled in the air and managed to land with her head not in floor. The pages of Pluto and Neptune she was flung into were not so lucky.

"Sorry..." she winced, pushing herself out of the tangle of limbs. Andronicus hurt, but nothing felt broken or severely damaged. Good, good. Themiscyra's boost seemed to still be in effect, if temporarily, and she was loath to let it go to waste.

Winds of Uranus, show us the meaning of haste.

The orb on her mace glowed bright, and wind began to pull at the squire's clothing. Time for round two.

Andronicus charged, Uranus aspect helping with her momentum, and swung her mace with channeled magic. Should it hit, a gust of wind would hopefully blow one of the scorpion's legs right out from under it.

Slievenamon, Page of Neptune

The page groaned. The flurry of events to occur before she felt pain seemed to flash by and then dissipate into her memory in a matter of seconds. When she came to, she seemed content to remain a pile of ouchie there on the floor of the long corridor. Weakly, she looked up to Nirvana, and then Andronicus; only managing a reply to the former before the other charged into battle again.

Pushing herself up to sitting and dusting shards of crystal off her lap and hair, Slievenamon said, "I'm... Yea, I'm okay." Grabbing Nirvana's hand, she used his foundation to pull herself up to standing and then used that same hand to rub her temple. It took her a moment to register just the danger she was in and then she snapped right back into battle mode, not letting the buff having been granted to her also not go to waste.

"R-right!" she said to Nirvana this time with a nod. She eyed the stretch of the hallway and managed to spot her thrown shell flute on the other end side of the giant scorpion youma. "I-it's over there, but let's just get out of the way first! That thing's losing it and we shouldn't be caught in its way!"

Havasu Falls, Squire of Pluto

Hav was nearly on his feet, the rope in place, when a senshi appeared at his side muttering an apology (Varuna). He nodded in acceptance of her apology as well as her joining him on his idea. "Pull!" They both pulled and to his emse surprise it worked, the scorpion staggered beneath the combined attacks of everyone.

His moment of pride was wiped away as he spotted the youma's stinger heading right for them. "Look out!" He shoved Varuna back and tried to scramble away himself, just dodging the deadly attack. He wobbled and fell as the scorpion collapsed making the room shake. The squire tried to climb to his feet while dodging the youma's wild swings but all he got for his troubles were crystal shards being flung at him. He hissed as a sharp shard sliced across his cheek, and scrambled away from a wild claw swing. His rope was still tied to the creature's leg and Hav was too close to do more than just duck the claws. He was well and truly a sitting duck. s**t, It was the only thought running through his mind as he tried to come up with a plan.... any plan.
