“Yes options are good. That’s why I am looking both at art and literature right now and not narrowing it down just yet. After all both offer enjoyment and the prospect of future employment.” That was something else she kept in mind as well. “I would love to meet your sibling. I could even bring some of my books for them to read if they like books.”She chuckled at Blythe’s response. Yes there was no reason to just blindly rush in without thinking about things. She was glad she hadn’t somehow wounded Blythe with only taking one candy rather than two. When she had gotten that plushie it was from the coordinator to him and not really something she had claimed all, more over her feelings had not been conveyed in a gift like manner at least she hadn’t thought so given she had only just met him at the time. To get a gift just because was really something special. Even if a bit overdone Eve had really enjoyed feeling special enough to receive it. She listened to Blythe speak about just now new he was to dating and her eyebrows rose. “I’ve been on a date that didn’t go so well before, but I’m curious just what did Valentein describe?” She kept listening to Blythe talk about how nice it was to meet her and she had to admit she felt much the same. Even though it was a speed date she actually felt more relaxed and comfortable talking to Blythe then to most others she saw on a daily basis for classes and in the dorm halls. He seemed to have something he wanted to build up to so she waited patiently for the rest. When Blythe offered to actually go on a real date after this and was so clearly nervous about it she wasn’t sure what to say at first. Blinking she processed that yes in fact she had been asked out. No it wasn’t as joke. And yes Blythe was right in front of her, real, and waiting for a response. “Ah Yes it is a rather forward statement given the short amount of time that we’ve spent together. Still I think I would very much like to spend time with you after this event.” She squeezed the plushie to her chest looking at Blythe. “While I’ve been on a date before I wouldn’t say I have all that much experience with dating. So ask long you are patient with me, I think we could figure it out together.” Something caught her eye and she moved aside the floral decoration that was hiding a small bowel of candy. “Perhaps a venue that has real food might be a good place to start?” She held up a few looking at Blythe with a smile. “I think who ever planned the speed date event thought all students must run on sugar.”
Blythe grinned wide at the mention of meeting Valentein. "Valentein had said that dating was an unneeded social construct that wasted time and valuable energy. They told me that if I got involved in dating and friendships that I would just be repeatedly disappointed by unmet expectations, but ultimately I could do whatever I wanted in the end." Blythe laughed as though they had taken it as a joke. "Valentien is silly like that."
As Eve accepted Blythe's invitation to spend more time together outside of speed dating, their face lit up with glee, their legs shook excitedly in their chair. "Excellent! I am overjoyed to hear this!" Eve had suggested that they be patient and Blythe nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, of course! I don't know much anything about dating..." Blythe's eyes shifted down to their hand for a moment. "All I know is what I looked up before I got here. However, I'd love to learn about it gradually with you. We can gain experience together!" Blythe smiled wide and watched as Eve revealed the candy bowl and held up some candy. Blythe laughed pretty hard about it as the realization grew that there was nothing but candy to consume at the event. Blythe wiped at their eyes a bit, "I would like that. Growing students need actual sustenance than just sugared confections. Real food would be nice. Though, I'm new to the area, so I don't know of any good places to eat when it comes down to deciding that." A nervous chuckle accompanied their statement. It was hard to be the new kid on the block as everything was unfamiliar territory and learning the lays of the land would come in time. "Is there a place in particular that you like to go a lot?"

Kimi didn't really mind the wait all that much. She figured that maybe, just maybe, there had been an odd person out. Sure was sure before too long someone would come along to keep her company. Or perhaps she should wander around herself? She was still munching on one of her mints when someone did happen to wander by. She puckered her lips at first, like she was tasting something sour. Oh, Seray. It's not that she disliked him at all. He was just someone she didn't understand at all....unlike Akylan who she could so easily fall into rhythm with.
"I can't be the only one if you're also wandering around." Okay, so maybe that was a bit rude. This was a Holiday about celebrating friendships. And while she wasn't sure what sort of relationship she had with this colorful Geist, it certainly wasn't one that required her to be rude. "Maybe we could keep each other company? It might help me to understand you a bit more anyway." She gestured toward the chair across from her, but she wasn't making eye contact at all. Nope. She was looking across the room and trying to be stubborn, while trying to be inviting? She just didn't know how to mix with Seray at all!

"Stuck up you say?" she had yet to come across that yet. Maybe it was a trait of the older generation of Chimera? She didn't know, all she did know was that she had to ask another question as they waited in line for another game ", Okay, what does this school mean to you? It seems you came here to learn instead of being raised like a lot of those who have come, so what does this academy mean in your eyes?"
A flower shop? A plant nursery? Surely one didn't need degrees for that? But if that was what she wanted, Riamheid would not judge. If she was doing what she loved, then she was doing what she loved. Ram loved... well... they didn't know yet. Adventure. Gathering information. But that wasn't something one learned in school.
Riamheid felt that they would find that out soon, though, so they weren't worried. "You are fortunate, then, to know what you want. Fortunate and remarkable." they said. "It's not always easy to know for sure where your path lies. I admire that in a person." That, at least, was true.
Ram watched her eat her candy, glancing around breifly. "Tired of my conversation already?" they teased, tapping a claw against one of their fangs. This was speed dating, and there was a goblin here, and Riamheid didn't want to wear out Raleka's welcome (or their own ability to dodge personal questions), but still... Riamheid was comfortable right now and didn't feel like moving just yet.

"Oh, not at all!" the hybrid said, sitting up straight, blushing ferociously. Raleka could hardly believe how rude she had just been, especially if her glancing around the room was that obvious. She couldn't help but feel like Riamheid was analyzing her every movement, but then again, she should probably be fixated on her partner as well. "I'm... terribly sorry," she said, a bit quietly, just in case. She looked down as she fidgeted with her hands a bit.
Then, an event worker came by, carrying an armload of cotton candy. Fresh floss! she announced with a smile, placing a bundle on the table. Raleka couldn't resist raising her eyebrows. "Do you want any?" she asked, gesturing at the newest addition to their table. "Do you like sweets?" Raleka herself didn't have much of a sweet tooth. Her diet was more oriented toward bland foods, or the occasional homey herbal spice.
She wasn't sure what else to say to this Goblin, especially because they didn't seem to be very forthcoming about information regarding themselves. She could start a conversation about Above, but she worried a conversation like that might head in a foul direction. Raleka herself had lived in a community of Dryads, which was nice until she became self-aware of being a hybrid. She could also always ask how classes were going, but she didn't want to sound like an overeager parent. Reluctantly, Raleka put a saturated sugary bit of the candy floss in her mouth, and waited for Riamheid to say something instead.

Seray nodded "I was not stood up no, my partener was just a shy little thing, and I have no use studying someone of that caliber. Not Like you Miss Kimi, I find you most interesting." He ave her a snake like smile as he slid into the seat across from her. He knew that they didn't have the warmest relationship but Seray really did find her interesting to study. So for science he would talk to her. "So what brought you here? A chance t true love? I see that went down hill." He snickerd a little bit.

Aren found that an interesting question, he didn't really know what he got out of the school, he just went because it was expected of him. "I'm not really sure, honestly I wish I wasn't here, I don't think it helps me much. The things I've learned here don't seem to have much bearing on what I want from my life. " He shrugged. It was kind of a bad answer but it was the truth to him.
Eve had to hand it to Valentein they had a strong opinion but at least they didn’t force it on others given that Eve would have hated to miss out on meeting Blythe. For that she was grateful. “It doesn’t sound like they meant it as a joke, but I suppose to each their own.” After all Eve was usually too nervous to go an ask others for the time of day much less a date. The fact Blythe had asked her made things much less stressful.
She tilted her head to get a look at Blythe’s hand. She couldn’t tell from where she was sitting but she thought she saw a lot of faded ink. She giggled. “At least you took notes. I wasn’t sure what to expect besides common social myths of speed dating.” She held a hand up to her cheek and rubbed it. “Well I don’t go out all that much. When I do it’s typically somewhere that I can grab food and go and finish it before I reach my destination.” Which was usually a book store or a library. She was pretty sure she had walked past a mall and movie theater but never really stopped long enough to pay attention. Shopping was tedious and movies were better with friends which Eve had very few of. “I know a pretty good sub shop it’s fairly cheap and I have a lot of coupons for it.” She would have to look up a map later and find out just what else was in the area besides that little second hand book store with the faded sign you could barely read.
"You were expected to come here? That is way different from what happened to me," way different. She had a hard enough time just trying to get her parents to even consider her leaving for the outside world, let alone go to this academy. She had to promise to get a hold of them as much as possible and come home straight after graduating from the academy in order to go ", Wow I wished I had been expected to just come here. I had to beg and bribe my family to let me come. Anyhow, to me this academy means a way for me to become something more than I was destined to be back home. This world is so much bigger than I could of ever dreamed, and coming here is just my first step to getting to know this new world."
Kimi almost regretted inviting Seray to sit down with her. She wasn't one to usually let others bother her or upset her. But he just seemed to know how to get under her skin. She was trying very hard not to just other Litch's by what she saw in Seray, but honestly it was becoming difficult not to do so. Plus, he did just say she was interesting. Was that a compliment? She had no idea how to interpret that statement at all.
There was just a small eye twitch before Kimi was able to form a reply. "I did not come here for true love. Nope. I was hoping it would be a good chance to at least make some new friends and at the very least it would be fun." She resisted the desire to roll her eyes. No Kimi, you were better than that! No need to stoop to his level! "What brings you here today, Seray? I find it hard to imagine you're here actually looking for a relationship." Did he want a partner? Honestly she didn't think he was seriously looking for one. If he was, surely he'd try to treat her better even. Maybe this was his way of flirting? If only these Nightmares were as open about their feelings as her fellow Fey. Then maybe she'd understand them better.

Blythe blinked for a moment, finally considering maybe Valentein seriously felt that way about dating and friendships. "You really think Valentein feels that way? I mean, that's no way to make friends! They will be alone forever if they keep that kind of attitude!" Blythe huffed a little. They seemed determined to change Valentein's way of thinking. The last thing Blythe wanted was their younger sibling to live a lonely life. The conversation continued as Blythe set their previous thoughts about Val on the back burner for now. "The notes I took weren't that great as they were rushed, but so far I feel like they at least did some good." Blythe looked down at their hand for a moment. "You at least find me atrocious, don't you..." There was a pause, "..what.." they whispered to themselves as Blythe's eyes darted quickly back to their hand again, scrutinizing the smeared scribbles. It was a moment before Blythe's face unscrunched and it lit back up again in enthusiasm. "Attractive! That was the word." they laughed at the mistake, shifting their eyes to the floor in embarrassment. "Maybe the notes weren't a good idea after all..." They seemed relatively unphased by the first comment they made as they merely continued in the conversation. "Maybe, it might be better to cook something ourselves. I can try to make something for you. Or we can make something together. Oh, but subs are good too! So many options to choose." Blythe smiled jovially then looked back at Eve again. Blythe liked looking at Eve, she was all the colors they liked, and she was pretty. Blythe felt pretty lucky to even be talking to her, as they had seen in movies how the pretty girls would ignore others and be mean, but Eve was nothing like that. She was pretty and nice. Blythe assumed this might be a rare thing and was awed to have discovered her somehow by chance.
Seray as much as Seray had been teasing he did believe that Kimi would foster the idea of true love. However he nodded at her response thoughtfully. "Well have you found it to be fun? There are many games that we could do. Perhaps you might find enjoyment in one of them? Ah me? I mean sure I would love the idea of a prospective mate, but finding someone who I find tolerable, with the correct genes could be tricky. However like most things I came here to study interactions and emotions. I try to understand the way that they feel, as to better understand society and racial patterns. It is quite enjoyable." It was always her to tell with Seray where he felt with someone, he was not kind and had a narrow range of emotions. He did however embed compliments into conversations, even when they didn't seem that they would be.
