After that egg-cracking fiasco- she was still spitting out tiny bits of rocks, and her tongue hurt pretty bad, but the snow had helped- Free was rather glad to see flowers out and about. She made her way closer, and, after hearing the explanation, she began to hunt for a pretty flower. When she found one, she smiled, and then tucked it away for the moment. One flower does not a bouquet make, but it's a good start...

Rosepelt was especially fond of the bouquet booth. The flowers always smelled beautiful and everything was so colorful for winter, it was refreshing. Especially when many of the other booths involved physical prowess or chance. He much preferred soothing, calming activities, and this one was right up his alley. He quickly got started gathering flowers, deciding it would be fun to collect them at random this time. He carefully arranged the ones he'd picked and was happy to see they were mostly purple, with a few other colors thrown in. After delivering it to the booth manager he smiled and continued on his way with two more tokens jingling in his pouch.

It pleased him so to see faces made familiar by their patronage of the booth - certainly he gladly helped the beautiful doe who'd come by again - and faces new held such wonder for him too. Verily, Prevail was well-suited to customer service, mild-mannered as he was. Even the grey doe's harsh words, albeit puzzling, did not faze him much.
"Now, now, Neither Nor," he gently rebuked, "she is no more dull than you are - and you are the opposite of dull, my friend. It takes all kinds."When the striking brown and yellow buck bade him luck, he blinked, then chuckled, "Thank you, kind sir, it seems not all blooms mingle well - but yours mingle rather well indeed!" It was quite a pretty bouquet. And then there was another customer - and another - "That's beautiful," he assured the vibrant green Totoma who inquired; "why, miss, I do believe your arrangements are getting lovelier and lovelier by the day!" he exclaimed to the pretty pink doe who'd come again."And yours, sir, what beautiful flowers you've put together," he remarked to the rosy buck with the rather sweet face."Oh, yes, that's good," he said to another, passing out tokens right and left, "oh, very lovely. What's that, Every Rose - oh, well, I'm not sure Charm cares much for flowers but that's very nice. Oh - sir - that's not for...well, not just for eating I suppose - ah well, that's good too. Oh, that's quite lovely!" Etc. etc.Ail on the other hand...was not in so good a mood. As if the hayfever hadn't been enough, that ridiculous Kiokote kept making eyes at him across the market - and he'd swear he could still feel the potential bacteria from that rotting skull in the air. Glaring from one buck to the other (though he didn't quite mean to - it was hardly their faults), he lectured, "Do flowers do anything? Could flowers do anything? Well, they could run rampant and destroy your valuable lifesaving herb garden, for one. They could give you a damnable, interminable hayfever. They could probably infect you with about sixty-seven different types of hitherto unknown diseases. And there are many, many of them that would gladly poison you to death."
That was quite an unfair representation of flowers, really. It wasn't even as if he didn't like them - he liked them plenty, on other days. It just so happened that, on this day, he wanted them all to burn.

It was probably unsurprising to anyone who had met him, but Tail's attention at the festival was first and immediately drawn to the brightly colored flowers. The Acha had the attention span of a foal (Not true, he thought inwardly, my children are far better focused--) and was a practical embodiment of the 'ooh, shiny!' awareness.
Trotting up to the three bucks, he had not an inkling of any tribe animosity - or any tribe at all, to be perfectly honest. As far as he was concerned, it was some sort of euphemism for 'family.' Without looking at anykin in particular, his short-tailed hindquarters began to wiggle with enthusiasm, his tail wagging the best it could. "These are so pretty - how can you part with them? Why would you want to part with them?" Even as he stuck his face into the flowers, his muffled questions continued. "Do they all smell the same? What does blue smell like? How do you grow a pink? Do they switch colors when you're not looking?"
Emerging from the flowers with one in his teeth, he grinned, all bright-eyed wiggling. "Did you know you smell like flowers? And I do mean that plural, not just like one? Here -- " and without ever seeming to stop to breathe, he finally just said something without a barrage of questions, lifting his entire body to reach up behind Prevail's ear, " -- your eyes are pretty and this is a lot of blue so it works!"
No, it was best to not try and find reason with this one.

Her strangely rabbity ears quivered as she intently sniffed about the flowers. Abruptly, she declared, "I'll take this one, this one, this one, this one, this one, and this one. To go. Thank you!"
And then she left with the token, daintily nibbling off the blossom heads. The food booths here were all so nice.

The delightful smell of flowers had attracted a flower bearer from the swamps, and, slowly, Honour had looked over the beautiful display of colours that was available to him. Secretly, he was hoping to pull together a set for his lovely Hour, but he elected to just go with the flow.
"I hope you do not mind that I pick these few, I am willing to trade." He murmured contently, going to pull a collection together. At a quick glance, it appeared that he was attracted to warm colours - especially the colour yellow!
Just like his beautiful lady's hair.
A job well done!

Butterfly Kisses returned to the booth offering beautiful flowers. After all, butterfly's liked flowers the best. And this time, the one he had chosen was quite nice. Though... This was a teal, it was close enough to blue to fit his needs. "Ah, finally... I think this is a lovely bouquet. Thank you". He gave a half bow and left.

"Hay fever? Potentially fatal poison? Don't mind if I do, then," laughed Wild Green Stones. "I ain't dead yet, so..." He turned and pulled some more flowers up for himself. Even if he could hardly see them, he could smell them, and these flowers smelled pretty great. The potential for poisoning his enemies was only a plus, although he wasn't really sure just how he could do that, yet. "There," he said approvingly. "Lighten up, man."

At the chance to have another vibrant flower, Blood Blood came over, picking the one he thought the very best. Nodding and thanking the bucks, he slipped it behind his pelt. It would help brighten up his look for the merriment. (1 token)

Today was all about color, and More Love hummed a cheerful little tune as she picked blooms from almost every color she could see and bundled them together. There, perfect. Between cooking eggs and making bouquets, how could Dogfight resist her?

19 December post eheheh Pith is back <3
The little flowery acha came by to visit the booth with sparkles in his eyes. "You know, your flowers smell delicious...and nice." he told the kin running the place.
"Today, I will pick this one, and assemble it into something to wear around my neck. That way I can have some snacks to eat while I check out other events in this gathering of kin." But really, that was just an excuse. He had no interest in other booths.
He smiled and used his mouth and hooves to weave the flowers together.

"No, you were right, it wasn't going to work at all," Every Rose said when he returned the next day. He was sorting through the blossoms again until he'd gathered a nice little bunch. "I'll give this one to Left instead. Might stop him from moping around for five minutes."

Tracks came back to collect more flowers from the bucks. They were giving the out and the does were cheerfully clambering for more. Well the ones that weren't Corrosive. That sister wasn't overly interested in plain decorative flowers. This should do. He looked over the and nodded, deciding that it was done.

Tropic collects some more flowers from his shop and puts together another little bouquette. He's proud of it again and puts it up for grabs in the shop, hoping it at least pleases someone, though he thinks it could be better. Maybe next go! Thumbnail:
