Shells that she's collected along the ocean shoreline Short IC Response: She had heard the whispers long ago, but never thought much of them; of a star that granted wishes to those lucky few. The story went, as she remembered, that the star returned only once or twice a year, so it's appearance was revered to those who relied on it. Hmpfh, she thought to herself as her little legs carried her through the lands in search of the star. How could a star possibly give me a gift? It's just a star.
Marcella was, by nature, very logical. Everything she did was carefully calculated prior to the action taken, and she was comfortable that way. So relying on a star to gift her what her heart desired seemed....impossible. Illogical. Stupid. However, the whispers continued, and one day she just couldn't help herself. Marcella needed to find the star, to give her mate what he (and she, she supposed, really wanted) Her beloved pirate, Kraken, loved foals, and because the two of them had found each other and not someone else, it was impossible for them to have children naturally. Although the pair had never spoken about it in great detail, Marcella knew that Kraken longed to be a father...and not just to anyone - but to one who shared his and Marcella's blood.
Well, the thought of that wasn't so bad, after all. Although motherhood was a completely unique idea to the small Usdia, she knew that with Kraken, it wouldn't be a terrible ordeal. So there she was now, out searching for the impossible little star.
Like magic, the star appeared before her and with a start, she stared at it in wonder. Now what? Did she...close her eyes, make a wish, and then leave? This was completely illogical....completely irrational, and yet, her heart did a flip at the sight of it.

Short IC Response: Hard Tack had spoken to the wishing star before, though with no luck, not that it troubled him greatly for he was thankful for what he already had. But his children had grown up and mostly all responsible enough he no longer had to care for them, though he’d always be there if he was needed. He missed that though, being needed. Copena needed him of course, to some degree as her stronger character Jolon also looked after her in an odd way. But Hard simply wanted to be a father again. There were few soquili which didn’t look at him strangely but his children all seemed to think he was ‘normal’ in their eyes and perhaps he was looking for that also when he placed the blacken rose down and stared up at the large star which illuminated the nights sky far greater than all the others.

Tell the wishing star a little about yourself: Talking about his mate's death wasn't easy, even if he was talking to... well, a star. A frustrated sigh left him and he shook his head, eyes rising once again - he had done this a few times over the last couple of minutes, indecisive - to view the altar first, and then the star itself. Hell, a year or two later and everything that had happened was still fresh in his mind.
To hell with it, César would just skip the details and get straight to the point. "Look, star, I don't know if you're the real deal or just.. I don't know, some silly rumor being spread around..." A bag full of shells Short IC Response: This was, perhaps, the stupidest thing she'd ever done. Or, it felt that way at least. Granted, Celeste had done some incredibly stupid things in her life, but somehow talking to a light in the sky seemed the worst of it all. But Mar had done it and then they were blessed with the ray of sunshine that was Sonata. The little filly had helped fill the hole that was left behind by Celeste and Mar's wayward daughter. But now Sonny had grown up and gone out on her own as well and guilt was eating away at Celeste's heart again. She wasn't here to ask the star to bring Mariam back, though. She wasn't ready to face that challenge just yet. If it could just give her children to distract her until she was ready...
"Look, star..." She huffily nudged the bag of shells in with all the other offerings, "I brought you something, so just...do whatever it is you do and, I don't know, give us kids or whatever." Her words were so muddled together by the end of her request that they were hardly coherent. This whole thing was just so embarrassing. And the fact that so many others were participating in this strange ritual didn't help at all. In fact, it had the exact opposite effect as the sound of approaching hooves sent Celeste into a panic. It was definitely time for her to hightail it back home.

Upon approaching the star that hung in the skies over head. Checkmate drops the still warm and blood soaked heart of a foal. Short IC Response: Checkmate was never one to 'ask' for anything. He was the type that took what he wanted. Be it food, trinkets or even offspring of other creatures. He had always had to work for what he wanted, since his birth to freedom, fighting through the obstacles. Its a very different thing to ask a star, something over his head for something he can't take for his own. His own offspring with a mare who sets the world beneath his talons a fire each encounter.
"I never ask for things, I take them. Without thought, without pity, but this mare wants children. Ones to rival those she has already conceived." Checkmate rasped, his blood colored eyes watching the skies. "As it is I can not take her as she is with a mate, be it so I would slaughter him to take my prize. But with heavy wings and talons that cry to rend flesh..." He looked away, hating to sound like a weakling. Someone that he would tear asunder in a heart beat, literally taking their beating heart from their chest. "I come to you, star, asking you to gift this mare my offspring, my daughters, with her. And let their talons grow sharp. Their instincts sharper still. To rend this world."
Grumbling beneath his breath and hissing past his sharpened beak. Checkmate left his offering on the ground where it cooled, wishing wholeheartedly to devour it himself. But there were better things to do with such an offering, he would let fate make its choice. For he was making his, love wasn't an emotion he knew, but survival ran strong within the predator.

A small, glowing rainbow gem. Short IC Response: xxxxx The mare moved quietly forward, her brother having escorted her to the star that their own sibling came from. Bis thanked him, before moving up the hill on her own, a small necklace held in her mouth. She paused when she felt the ground level out, and her wolfish tail wagged excitedly. She dipped her head down, laying the soft glowing necklace down on the grass at her hooves, before lifting her head toward the stars, ears perked. She tilted her head some, and listened to the world around her, before smiling some. "Hey, star. My mama told me about you when I was growing up; how you gave her and daddy a baby of their own. Well... I have a request, if you're willing to listen." She paused, a frown shifting over her face and her tail tucking lightly against her flank. "Tsubasa... I really, really love her. And I know she has to go home a lot because of her pack.. They're important to her, I get it. But... maybe, if we had some kids... She would stay around more? I know it's silly, but I just really, really want her around more... And I want to know if I can raise kids... if I can actually do it with being... being blind. So um.." Bismuth shifted a bit, her hoof scraping against the ground lightly. "I... uh... I'm not sure how to end this... So um. Thank you for the time? I think?" She giggled, shrugging lightly and turned back to where she smelled Caesium. She trotted over, bumping against him before heading back toward their family.

A feather from her tail, a lock of her hair and a bead from her headband. Short IC Response: Nyx walks onto the land where it was known for the wishing stars. She took a sharp glance to look around to make sure no one was there with ill intentions. With a flick of her feathery tail, a feather falls onto the ground. She picks it up and set it onto a rock. She then pulled a small lock of her mane to put in the same spot. Finally.. she takes out a bead that was safely hidden in her mane to put with the other offering. It was a bead that was from her headband. She took a long look towards the sky, glancing around til she found the brightest and biggest star. ".... Some soquilis wishes for a mother... a father.. or even someone to love. I have a simple wish. I wish for a brother who could be my best friend but also someone I can go on patrol with. Someone that would watch my back when no one else is around.... No one should ever feel alone in life.. No matter what is the case.." She stares at the star for quite a while before flattening her ears, going back to where she had came from. Hope filled her heart as she walked away..

His bead armband Short IC Response: Since coming to this land, Taronyu had always felt somewhat alone. He had a friend in Argent, but even that was a strained friendship. No one here really understood him. He missed the floating mountains of his home and all his family left behind there. Years ago Argent had asked the wishing star for a sister, he too missed his home. Now Taronyu had that same chance. "I dont know if anyone is out there... if this is even real" Taronyu looked around feeling somewhat foolish. He was a hunter, and here he was about to beg. Shaking off his pride he continued. "Back home i flew in a sky full of my family. We would glide around the floating mountains of Pandora. I love my new home here, but i cant help but miss my family. I guess what i really want is a sister. Someone I can share this world with, while still sharing our old home of Pandora. It would be her pleasure to tear that all down and have him watch hopelessly as she took his children away to be her minions. She needed more on her side, more to support her cause; it was why she put up with this infernal stallion in the first place. He was nothing more than a means to an end, but he did not have to know that… yet. Aizuri-e nudged his mate's shoulder, encouraging him forward to where they would be making an offer to the star. Coviello frowned, but he followed the other stallion up to the top of the cliff, where the stars were the clearest. He couldn't deny the star existed, of course -- it was right there in front of his eyes. But did it actually posses the magical powers he'd heard the rumors of? Coviello felt doubtful; even if it did, why would it listen to their wish? What made them so special? They weren't more important than anyone else's wishes. Aizuri-e wanted to try, though, and he wasn't going to deny his mate that. He just didn't want him to get his hopes up, only for nothing to happen. A family, though... it would be nice. Aizuri-e beamed at him, and Coviello couldn't help but smile back.
"Please, star, we have a wish we'd like to make. Coviello and I want to start a family. We don't mind adopting, or maybe finding a surrogate one day... but to have a child of our own that's a little bit of both of us would be amazing," Aizuri-e pleaded, gazing up at the bright star, hoping it would bless them. Coviello put down their offering; two charms from each of them bound together with string, representing both sides of their families. "We'll make good parents," Coviello added, a little quieter than his mate. "No matter who they are, we'll love them unconditionally. We'll raise them to be good and honest."
The two stallions shared a smile, nuzzling their noses together before bowing to the star in respect. "Thank you for listening," Aizuri-e said, before the pair turned and left. Coviello couldn't help but feel a little hopeful now, too.
