My favorite vegetables are carrots.
What makes them a vegetable:
1-They do not have seeds.
2-They are not very sweet.
3-They are high in fiber.Finishing the short assignment he looks it over one more time to make sure it all sounds okay and looks neat before trotting off to turn it in to the teacher.

 Frit took her camera possessively and ran out of the classroom. Pictures of plants? This could only help her with her future plans. The camera was such a useful tool, the imp hoped she would not have to give it back. Hours after she had received the camera, Frit finally decided she had enough pictures. The imp first washed up, her clothing covered in dirt and muck from wandering around the gardens. Frit looked over her pictures and scurried back to the classroom. This was the best thing, she hoped she could do this more when she grew up. Once her pictures were ready to show the class the imp jumped up to share. "I found lots of flowers, and once i started looking at the flowers more i noticed things under them! Bugs, slugs, i even saw a snake! But it got away before i had my camera ready..." The imp glared at the memory, darn snakes, getting away and all.

Cain had to think about this a little bit. He liked fruits way more than veggies ... but certainly he knew what made fruits a fruit and veggies a veg. "I like all sorts fruits, but I'd have to say my favorite would be a peach. Usually, fruits have seeds -- or in the case of a peach; a pit -- and veggies don't. It's one of the biggest ways to tell a fruit apart from a veg. Fruits are also kinda like the 'ovary' of the plant, which is edible. Usually this is the only part of the plant that is edible. Any part of a vegetable plant that is edible ... well, is considered a vegetable. So, sunflower sprouts could be a vegetable, even, by that definition, or carrot greens. Also, fruits tend to be far sweeter in flavour, or more tart, where as vegetables don't really fall in to any real catagory of flavour, as each one is unique and different -- and even their growing conditions can drastically alter their flavour."OOPS. Arden dug his claw into a scratch on the desk idly, considering the prompt at hand. This was so up his alley and yet he was struggling because he didn't want to geek out too much. He kept quiet in this class often, but herbalism was a pretty important topic in the medical world.
'It is beneficial to study herbalism because it provides a whole new realm of natural options. While natural is not always the cure all and of course, everything is technically natural more or less, Nightmares and Daydreams a like can learn a lot by emulating nature. Many herbs and plants have properties that can aid in medicine, or have special adaptations that help solve the greatest of mysteries. In order to keep learning, we need to borrow from what has been proven successful around us, and not ignoring anything that has the potential to be really beneficial.'
The Chimera tapped his claw against the desk once more before standing. Slowly he made his way up front, giving a nervous smile before placing his paper on the desk. Man, why was he making this so difficult for himself? Plenty of people enjoyed this class.

 Iah blinked as the professor told them about the assignment. He didn't really think about what his favorite food or vegetable would be. He wasn't really a picky eater as growing up the way he had got rid of any pickiness he might have originally had. however saying he didn't really have a favorite wouldn't really get him too far in the assignment.
I actually like a lot of fruit and vegetables but the one that I tend to like eating a bit more than the others would be Raspberries.
What makes them a fruit is:
1) They have seeds,
2) they are usually quite sweet when they're ripe.
3) The raspberry is the ripened ovary of a multitude of plant species in the Rose family. There that should be good enough right? Iah stood up with his assignment finished and walked up to turn it over to the teacher.

Howard couldn't see the benefits of much of anything these days, but he had been born lacking an ability to ignore school, so he was trying his best. Class made a nice distraction anyway. Maybe if he studied hard enough, he could find an herb that would cure mistakes. The chimera cleared his throat.
"Knowledge of herbalism is an excellent addition to and emergency replacement for more scientific medicinal study. There are herbs that can dull pain, encourage wounds to heal more quickly, assuage the cravings of the addicted, and knock Nightmares out prior to surgery. Even rudimentary skill with certain plants can come in handy during day-to-day life. Those in the know can make a fine tea." He looked up at Corben with mild amusement, ever so briefly lifted from his funk. "All in all, it is a necessary skill."
Howard's gaze dropped back to his books and within the span of a couple of seconds, he was back to doodling distractedly in the margins of his notes.

Ellis had regularly enjoyed the fruits and vegetables of other Nightmares' labor, so when a space turned up in his schedule that happened to coincide with an Herbalism class, the imp jumped at the chance to attend. It was always interesting to try new things, even if he had no plans to pursue the subjects as careers. While he had the best intentions this time, it was especially good for Above and Below that he wasn't interested in devoting his life to plants.
He was meant to harvest a couple of ears of corn from several rows that had been planted weeks ago, but when Ellis went to pick and shuck them, all he found inside was a strange, blue clay. Eyes widening, he set them aside, hopefully while no one was looking, and slid a couple of sheets of newspaper over them, hiding them from view.

He stayed far away from the corn on his second attempt, choosing a bushel of carrots to harvest instead. There was no shucking or peeling this time around, just a level of care he tried to adhere to as he pulled the vegetables from the dirt and cleaned them off. Mostly, Ellis was just grateful that they weren't blue.
He was all smiles as he presented them to Corben, though as he made his way back to his seat, he eyed the spot where he'd left the blue clay corn nervously, vaguely concerned that his initial blunder might be discovered before he could be dismissed.

 Though Herbalism had nothing to do with fashion or art, Binhdi had thought it would be a fairly easy class. A pallet cleanser for her brain as it were. And as far as harvesting plants went, really, how hard could it be?
She found out quickly enough when her hand strayed into a patch of what was either poison ivy or oak that had managed to conceal itself within the plants she was supposed to be harvesting.

After seeing Corben for a lotion that would keep her from wanting to claw her own hand off and a glove to keep her from spreading the itchiness, Binhdi went back to work, though this time she thought that it would be easier to harvest from the berry patches.
By the time class was over, she'd collected a nice little basket full of berries for Corben and handed it over with a slightly pained smile.

Neptune had taken herbalism because he thought it might be a nice relaxing class to wrap up his time at the academy with... boy, he was wrong. As soon as he went to harvest the plant in question, he soon realized that a nest of ants had sprung up in the area and were none too happy about his intrusion.
He decided it was better to try something else instead..
