Sadly, Chance was indeed bullshitting. Otto would have kicked his a** in a second in any video game, that much Chance was definitely sure of. He just liked being obnoxious about it.
It was dusk, so the lights were all on in the buildings, flashing brightly around them. Chance let his gaze drift sideways to rest on Otto's face, at the interest and curiosity in his expression, and almost forgot where he was going, distracted by this.
"Here," he said, dragging his eyes away from Otto's face to gesture to their right as they rounded a corner. "This is where we're staying."
The Lennox Hotel was not the most expensive or fancy, as some of the others might have been, but Chance had enough money stocked up to last him quite some time, and he'd wanted some place nice.
"What do you think?" he asked with a grin, pausing outside the doors.

"It's different." He murmured as he stared at the building. Otto wasn't used to a rustic looking building like this. However, Chance seemed to be the one paying today. Otto planned to snipe the bill at dinner to make up for it. Give and take, after all. He knee'd the back of Chance's leg to make him go forward again. Because he's a gentle boyfriend.

Chance stumbled forward, gave Otto a pointed look that said clearly just what he thought of Otto's gentleness, and led them both inside.
The lobby was was wide and spacious, decorated in golds and whites. Chance left Otto by the elevators and went to talk to the receptionist. Approximately five minutes and one winning smile later, Chance came back, waving a little envelope.
"Keycards," he said cheerfully, and passed Otto one, leaning on the up button. "Everything's all set, we're on the fourth floor, room 412."
The room was large and comfortable, a queen sized bed sitting against wall, a desk and a television stand against another. Chance threw his bag onto the bed somewhat unceremoniously and then turned to look at Otto.
"Our home away from home for the night," he said grandly.

When they got to the room, Otto took back what he thought about it being rustic. His mouth was agape, and his eyes wide with wonder as he took in the vastness of the room. It looked Hella classy. Not his usual style, as Otto's own apartment had a more modern feel to it. However, he could appreciate the aesthetic nonetheless. "Woaah.." He murmured, finally shutting his jaw and giving a nod. "Okay. Yeah. This is cool."

It was not exactly the stars space sort of casual taste that Chance liked either, but it was very, very nice and classy, even with the surprisingly reasonable price accompanying it (he'd also been presumptuous and gotten them a single bed instead of two separate ones, because what was the point of having an actual date off island and then sleeping in two different beds).
Chance padded over to Otto and slipped an arm around his waist.
"It's pretty snazzy here," he said, eyes moving around the room with interest as he bent to press an idle kiss to Otto's temple "I thought it'd be a little more funky, since the exterior is pretty casual, but this is pretty damn nice looking, I have to say."
Chance grinned. "I'd say well worth having it to ourselves for the night, hm?"
He gave Otto a squeeze and then let go, stretching his arms.
"Okay. I thought about it on the way here, and I think the 21st Amendment is probably more suited to your tastes foodwise, so we'll go ahead and head there for dinner - they've got good burgers, I hear, and killer drinks."

Otto leaned into his casual embrace, slipping a hand over Chance's waist to match. If Chance had gotten them seperate beds, otto might have whopped him over the head. It was a date, dammit. "Yeah I guess you did pretty good. Maybe." He said just to be obstinate, maintaining a straight face. Otto tossed his backpack onto a chair, ready to get the night started. More so ready for dinner. He was starving. "Sounds good to me." He could handle a rowdy atmosphere so long as they had their own table. "Let's go, I'm friggn' starving."

"I like even that obnoxious side of you," Chance said, casting an amused look over his shoulder at Otto. He reached for his hand and laced their fingers together again, tugging him from the room without preamble. "It's just down the block a ways, shouldn't take too long to get there."
The 21st Amendment was known mainly for its beer, but also for the pleasant, upbeat atmosphere. High topped tables and a full length bar on one side, and soft leather couches and chairs half hidden by a brick divider on the other.
It was only a fifteen minute walk, and when they got there, it was to find that the place was only about half full of cheerful, laughing patrons, the volume a little above average, but not deafening. After a brief, quiet exchange with the hostess, Chance and Otto were led to one of the smaller tables on the other side of the divider, where the actual bar was half hidden from view.
"Here," said Chance with a smile, sliding a menu across to Otto. "Order whatever you'd like."

Otto liked this bar. The mood was good, the atmosphere pleasantly... well, bar like. Without seeming skeevy. He sat down, looking over the menu with a hungry look in his eyes. "Anythin' I like..." He murmured back. Sadly, he knew he couldn't order alcohol here, as Stateside he was considered underage. Seriously, he saves the world for a living and can't have himself a drink. "The sliders, for sure. Oh, and the nacho platter. Like dude, lookit this stuff..."

He scanned the menu, Otto's enthusiasm for the food only heightening Chance's pleasure, and he hid a smile as he tried to figure out what he wanted himself. It was a little unbelievable that they were here, now, in the middle of a date, and he wanted to wrap himself in memories, in Otto's eagerness and curiosity.
"The nachos sound ******** amazing," Chance said with interest. "Oh, they have pizza too, it looks like - and sandwiches, that turkey club sounds good but a burger sounds even better..."
Chance was old enough for alcohol, and ordered a Speakeasy when the waitress came by, as well as a water, sorry, Otto.

"I'll share the sliders with you if we split a pizza." Otto said in earnest. He wanted to eat everything, it seemed. When the waitress came for drinks, Otto ordered a coke for himself, glaring in envy at Chance with his damn fancy drink. Jerk.

"Deal," said Chance, giving a little nod as he lowered the menu back down to the table. "Might as well try what we can while we're here, right?" He tried hard to fight the smile that was on his face at Otto's glare, but failed horribly.
"Maybe if you're nice to me, I'll share my drink with you," he said innocently.

"Hmmmm I dunno. Seems kinda hard.." Being nice? Psshaaaw! Talk about effort! "What'ya like on pizza? I like hawaiin with hot sauce, but anythin' is fine, so long as it ain't got anchovies on it."

"I know that must be really hard for you," Chance deadpanned, fingers smoothing over the menu on the table. "Being nice and all, it'll totally take every effort you have."
He smirked and tapped a hand against his jaw. "I like peppers and pepperoni the best, big fan of hot sauce, less so pineapple, but if you get it on half of it, then that's okay. Anchovies are like some devils s**t that they must have pulled out of hell or something."
The waitress swung by their table, depositing their drinks. Chance gave her a little smile and slid his Speakeasy over, taking a small sip.
"Delicious," he said, just to be obnoxious.

Otto narrowed his eyes. " a*****e." He took a large drink of his coke, and while it wasn't a fancy a** beverage like Chance's it felt refreshing. "Whatever. Don't even care. Mine is fine. You'll be staggering drunk and I'll be fresh n' sober." Otto said smugly, even though out of the two, Otto was the easiest to intoxicate. It was best he stuck with his coke after all. "I bet it's actually gross n' you're just regretting your choices."

He was trying hard to hide his amusement, but, well, that wasn't working too well. Chance's eyes flickered with mirth, and he let out a laugh, covering his mouth with his hand.
"Yes, but I'm your a*****e," Chance said airily, waving his hand around, but there was a grin on his face. "This is not going to get me staggering drunk. One drink won't. And it doesn't taste bad, it tastes great," he added, gaze resting on Otto's. "
He would probably pay for his sassiness later, but, well, it was worth it. The waitress flitted past their table and stopped, looking cheerful, and Chance left it up to Otto to order.
