Chakra : 1105/1105 Alright he had to admit it, Nari was impressed. The candles, the food, especially the food, the size of the room this man knew how to live. He couldnt help but turn in place as he watched the shinobi and various others in the massive room. Once the anbu had lead him to the Tsuchikage, Nari bowed at the waist and slowly pulled one of the sealed scrolls from his flack jacket under his armor and offered it to the man,"A message from Raikage Koneko." As he spoke though his stomach growled loudly indicating the fact he was hungry. After all trail rations did nothing for the appetite.
Fuukyu sat there listening to the small genin prattle on, being kind of obnoxious, really, before saying, “Alright, then, here’s your headbands, you three head to the academy or dojo and start training hard.. and Luna,” the usually cheerful man’s voice would turn serious for a moment, “you’d do well to mind your manners when addressing those of higher rank, you understand me? Now get to training.” With that done turned to Igarashi and chuckled slightly, “Sorry Rashi, but you know how much I like my snacks…hell, I raided my dad’s stash once.. he used partial multi-size and smacked me across the house..” he rubbed the side of his head, remembering the pain of the smack from some twenty years prior; it was then that his anbu walked in, leading a kumo shinobi, who gazed around in awe it seemed before bowing and offering him a letter.
Standing and walking around to face the man, Fuukyu took the message, “From the Raikage, eh? What about?” He then heard the shinobi’s stomach growl and there seemed to be a bit of an awkward silence before the massive kage burst out laughing, his huge gut jiggling a bit, “Hungry? The fire’s smoldered down, but there should still be some roast boar left that I cooked up earlier,” the kage made a quick handsign and a patch in the center of the office floor opened up and the cookfire rose into place, the picked-at, but still largely intact boar still spinning over the low smoldering flame. Motioning to the pig with his hand, Fuukyu would say happily, “Help yourself, there’s all kind of stuff on the table along the wall over there too, and I think that cask of ale still has some in it if you’d like, feel free, or there’s water.. but that’s not as much fun.” The kage would say with a chuckle before taking a sip of sake from the huge gourd he wore on his back.
Chakra : 1105/1105 Nari shook his head from under his mask with a shrug,"Something regarding the chuunin exams though what exactly is beyond me. I was simply told to deliver it and now here I am." Though when he motioned for the food Nari hesitated for all of half a second before bowing again and making his way to the pig ripping a leg off and taking a seat on one of the benches facing the man. Pulling off his mask and setting it down his emerald eyes met the Tsuchikage's for a moment,"There is also one other matter should you be so inclined. Milady Raikage would like you to consider a pact between villages. A non-aggression pact." Taking a bite from the pig he visibly relaxed a bit as he started to eat and drink happily. If there was anything he could appreciate it was good food and those rations had nothing on fresh roast pig.
Walking to the pig, Fuukyu ripped off another of the remaining legs himself before sitting down across from the kumo-nin, opening the message from the Raikage, “Hmm, it appears your kage is hosting the chuunin exams in Kumogakure, and is inviting me and my shinobi to participate….sounds like fun. As for this.. non-aggression pact, I’m curious, what’s the point of that kind of pact with me? Iwagakure and Kumogakure are on opposite sides of the map, only village farther from you would probably be Sunagakure…so the chances of us coming into direct conflict are pretty small already, aren’t they?” Fuukyu was slightly confused by the proposition, then considered the possibility of strange activity within other territories that he didn’t know of, since Iwa had generally kept to itself since his ascension to kage. “Is there something coming that I might not know about? From one of the other villages?”
Chakra : 1105/1105 Taking a swig of the ale to wash down the pig Nari sighed and pulled a scroll from one of the holsters on his hip and rolled it open. The scroll contained a very detailed map of the nations to which he began,"I hate to be the bearer of bad news but things arnt looking good out there. Right now Kumo and Kiri are almost to the point of hostility, and is currently allied with Suna who also is at the point of hostility with Kiri. Gods knows what the Mizukage has done but hes pissed off some dangerous people. But thats far from the worst of it. Konoha has shut its borders and stepped up patrols significantly. Their arms production is ramping up, and their border guards are getting some pretty solid gear and with no word from the village we can only assume they are preparing for war. Last I heard they weren't allowing foreign shinobi into the village at all. Though to answer your previous question Kumogakure stands ready to counteract Konoha aggression should it arrise but no nation can afford a war on two front not when its easy enough to sail the northern sea and land in the land of lightning. Though truth be told until it happens we could all be facing the tip of a spear. Until they make a move we have no idea where they would strike as every village is within striking distance. If it was me I would target Kiri given how isolated it is but we all know the easiest way to win a war is to strike where you are not expected to." Taking another bite of the pig he took a biscuit and set it onto his plate as he awaited the Tsuchikages response to his tactical analysis and report.
Fuukyu would watch as the kumo-nin pulled a map from his pocket and listened to him explain the current situation, raising his eyebrows in surprise as he ran his hand over his face quickl, “Damn.. I need to get my shinobi out and patrolling more…And that’s true, fighting a war on more than one front is extremely difficult, if not impossible, so I would guess that should Konohagakure or kirigakure choose to attack either kumogakure or sunagakure the other would step in to defend their ally, forcing a war on two fronts and likely ending the conflict quickly. From what you’ve said… it sounds like the most likely candidate to start a war would be Konoha as of right now…. With Kiri being the likely first target.. but we don’t know if they would stop there. And if they were to take Kiri, they would have fairly easy routes to any of our three remaining villages if they wanted to continues campaigns.” Fuukyu would run his hand across his face quickly, scratching his beard before continuing, “If that should happen, Kumo and Suna would protect each other through your alliance, but if Iwa was to be attacked, we’re left to fend for ourselves under a mere non-aggression pact, not that my shinobi are weak by any means, it just seems odd to me that Lady Koneko would form an alliance with Suna while seeking only a non-aggression pact with me here in Iwa, when the potential for a three-pronged assault in case of hostile action on either Konoha or Kiri’s part would be so devastating in ending conflict quickly and with minimal casualties for all our forces. What do you think? I know she’s your kage and you have your orders, but humor me if you would.” Fuukyu would sip some more from his sake gourd, the liquid cycling through the long straw that formed around his eyes like glasses… practically destroying any chance he ever had at appearing serious, but he was thirsty and didn’t really care much for appearances.
Chakra : 1105/1105 Giving the matter of moment of thought Nari smiled as he began,"Well honestly, I would like to see a military alliance happen. Though as you say I cannot make that call. Thats something that Ladies Koneko, and Kaori will have to decide. Though I will relay your desire for such an alliance to milady. I doubt she will return an unfavorable response. Please forgive me I know it is rude to eat and leave but I must deliver two more of these to the lands of wind and fire. Though getting past the land of fires sentries is going to be a task and a half." Rolling up the map he slid it into its holster and slid his mask back onto his face with a nod,"It has been an honor Tsuchikage. May the fates show kindness towards you and your village." With that he bowed at the waste and followed the anbu out of the office and out of the village by extension.
After a few minutes she looked over at her uncle ears twitching in aggravation. She then saw a anbu in the office noticing it wasn't one from her village it must of been an outsider. she paid no real mind to him just overheard the entire conversation between the two of them before speaking up. After the anbu left she looked to her uncle. Mostly to see what he would do. She then spoke softly under her breath. "He seemed a bit too nice., do we really want to do this? I know its up to you and all and this allyship and such. But do we really want to trust it?" She then sniffed the air slightly She caught a wiff of what the anbu smelled like and wouldn't forget that smell for the longest time. grumbling to herself slightly in irritation due to the fact she really didn't get to see his face but would easily remember the scent and sound of this mans voice clearly meant there was something in her mind that just did not feel right.
The Fuukyu clone would nod to the kumo-nin, “No worries, safe travels. Best of luck dealing with Konoha.” When Igarashi started talking about him being too nice and not trusting Kumo, Fuukyu kind of waved her off, “Rashi-chan, you always say stuff like that. He was hungry after a long trip from Kumo, I gave him food. He had no real reason to be anything but friendly. And besides, like I said earlier, should war happen, the village is better off in an alliance than it would be if we had a non-aggression pact with only one village.” Fuukyu thought for a second, then remember the initial reason the foreigner had come, “Oh yea, and you should head to the academy and start working with whatever genin you can find, help them however you can to finish their training. I need to disperse so that my original knows what’s happened, he’s still in the academy training with Chouya.” With that the clone dispersed in a puff of smoke.
Igarashi took the fact that her uncle was okay with what took place she just shrugged it off after a few moments, she really was in no mood to argue. Nodding to him telling her to go help the young genin train she took her leave. She really had not thought much on who she would help but she would see who still needed training once she got there.
