Mynshaka Post 7

To say Mynshaka was unhappy was an understatement. He hadn't wanted to come, had no wish to aid these people when his own home needed him.. but no his teacher and father had kicked him off.
It'll be good fer ye boy, his father had said; see the northern tribes and expand your horizons!

Go and test your bond with Oltia, his teacher had said, see what you can do in a real combat situation.

Toss me off the deep end why don't you! He thought in a foul humor as he and Oltia climbed the cliff... She wasn't too happy about it either, especially since she wasn't a climber like the Yaotl's... but she managed and Shaka knew (not that he'd admit it) doing this was good for their bond. Now I just have to hope neither of us get too badly hurt here...

He saw the group he'd been chatting with at the gathering a while back... might was well talk to them, he thought, keep my mind off these jittery feelings. For Shaka was nervous; it was his first real combat. Animals and brawling didn't count... this was war. He nudged Oltia over and rode over to them, just in time to hear Jelanii's last words.

"Pfft.... Ah'd say ye were the one to have the crush." Shaka said from his perch as the Trotter nudged forward to investigate the familiar scent of Cerith.

Araie Post 9

Araie's expression brightened at Dezani's words. "There is someone! I haven't seen Eziya in quite some time and I would to check up on her, and see if she needs anything. Let's find her!" Araie exclaimed as she grabbed Dezani's hand and began to drag him to where the Shifters had settled. Although the circumstances weren't the best, seeing her friend again would be wonderful. When she finally spotted her friend, she grinned ear to ear.

"Eziya!"

Karothdra - Post #9

Turning to the young Oban who had joined them looking for someone, Karothdra raised her brow. What was a dancer doing in the middle of a fighting zone? Hadn’t they told civilians to either stay home or at least stay in areas where no harm could come to them? Karothdra didn’t approve and she shook her head slightly as her eyes looked around to see if there were any other civilians meandering about where they shouldn’t be. She spotted a few more and her lips drew into a thin line. Someone was going to have to keep these people in line away from the actual fighting or they were going to have more deaths than necessary on their hands.

Though soon enough her charge came, another soldier it seemed. But was momentarily distracted by the influx of Alkidikes that were suddenly appearing in the camp. Her muscles tense and she urged them to relax, Karothdra cracked her knuckles once more on each hand. Had it started then? Was she going to be able to face off finally against an Alkidikes? She didn’t believe their little story of wanting to help; it was all a very good ploy. Kill the enemy from the inside and then have those outside finish them off. From the looks of it, people were accepting them freely. Fools.

“I don’t like this at all,” She muttered. “I wish we were meeting under belter circumstances Saraf.” Giving him a curt nod in greeting. She listened to them as he spoke, her eyes already counting and planning. Still too many civilians for her liking and much too close to the fighting. “We shouldn’t trust, they might be thinking about getting us from the inside. Attack the heart and then kill off the stragglers with those on the outside. Smart, but we’re smarter hopefully.” She was still seeing people accepting the Alkidikes like they were friends, an error that could possibly cost them their life.

Teiluj post 7

Teiluj had offered her support to Rishima, and she was certain that if anyone could talk to their sisters it would be him. He had such a high rank among them, and had accomplished so much. He really was someone to look up to. The travels to Sauti had been swift but taxing and to top it all off she hadn't been getting much sleep. Add on the fact that as a healer she was required to a degree of her own virtue a tent. Thankfully some had seen to it that she have a tent to hold the injured, as well as give comfort to those who sought to help. But how was she supposed to help others when she was busy fretting over those closest to her? At the very least she had not had to set the tent up herself. There seemed to be plenty of earthlings ready to help. Albeit suspiciously, and she couldn't help but wonder if it was because of the alkidike in her. She really didn't seem to fit anywhere, even when all she wanted was to help.

Lifting up a flap with one hand, Teiluj idly tied it back before her eyes shifted to her oban. Her eyebrows flinched together as she watched him, as much as she didn't want to admit it he seemed a little off. Was the war bringing back his own memory? She missed his more cheerful teasing. But perhaps it was out of respect for her own discomfort, with the talk of war eating away at everyone. That was why she had been so eager to ask Rishima if she could help. Well, partially anyway. The other part was she wanted to protect her loved ones from having to fight, from seeing any danger, if that meant she had to be a first line of defense she would be just that. If she had to sacrifice herself for their lives, Teiluj as certain she would do it in an instant.

One hand snaked up to her shoulder as she rolled it in an attempt to relieve some of the tension that was building up. Her movements were sluggish as she moved to sit down and lean against a large rock. Her eyes followed Nkole as he moved closer to her and sat down on the rock. Feeling a little better at his proximity Teiluj as prepared to close her eyes and rest her head on his lap when his hands reached out to pull her to him.

It was like the jolt of energy she needed, the rush of something alight within her. Security and warmth all flooded around her as he held her close, those feelings were amplified by the sensations of butterflies in her stomach. Gratitude for Nkole was overwhelming as she wrapped her arms around his neck threading her fingers into the looser parts of his hair. "Mamma... isn't the only one I'm worried about. I'm scared for you too... I can't lose you in this." Teiluj muttered into his ear her voice trembled, Teiluj remained held in Nkoles embrace for some time before she pulled back a little.

"Thank you for staying with me." Teiluj gave a smile before settling in and closing her eyes. If only she could get a small amount of sleep in for now.

Certainly! If nothing else Irro is more than welcome to approach Teiluj's tent if she fails to grab Irro. : )

Amarone Post 9

Amarone looked around the area with a keen eye, trying to think if she could do anything to help optimize the items. Maybe she could re-organize or set up a system to get the items there faster. As she walked closer to the supplies, a random healer gave her a sharp eye, and she laughed before backing off again.

Right, no touching.

A voice behind her caused her to turn, and she saw a very pretty Wind Earthling who also seemed there to help. The question she asked finally settled in Amarone's mine, and she shook her head slowly.

"I'm sorry, I just arrived. I had to stop by my house to warn my family...so I missed most of the action. But, it seems as if no fighting is going on...everyone is tense, but sitting around. I think we are waiting it out..."

Takoda Post 6

Chewing on his lower lip he understood his mates dislike for the Obans. It was hard not to let go of past grudges and dislikes. Especially since it was the Obans who had caused the last war. Looking up to Jacinthus he sighed and nodded his head slightly, after all he couldn't say that he trusted them all that much either, but he did hope they were here to help not hinder.

Looking to the gathering crowd he shifter tried not to sigh again, else his mate would start to think there was something wrong with him. It wasn't that Takoda was tired, the trip to Sauti hadn't been that arduous but the idea that there might be more fighting was almost more than he could bare.

Keilana Post 6

Keilana offered Chalcedony an curious look, like a mix of a glare and a raised eyebrow. It was about his comment about leaving the boys at home, or putting them somewhere far away from harm. They were...no longer young boys. Heck both of them held rank now, and though she was an over protective mother, she'd rather they be where she could see them...

"The 'boys' are men now Chalcedony...though there are days I wish they had remain small enough i could carry them both on my arms.." She mulled giving a bit of a sigh.

Aminah Post 8

Aminah heard her name called from outside by a very familiar voice. They had been at the house waiting for Jerarda and Shima to come back for over a day now since the discussion in the festival ended.

She rushed outside, throwing her arms around Jerarda before looking to the tired Shima on her back. She pulled the little girl off of Jerarda and cradled her, hoping she might fall back asleep. "We can get you food soon love." She cooed.

She looked to Jerarda and the serious look on her lover's face. "Are you going back out there, then?" She asked, her voice quiet.

Aselia Post 9

Antenna twitched as a very young member of the group spoke up. Again her inability to remember each sistes name back with Aisha was showing through again. Gritting her teeth at her own shortcomings the Mystic nodded towards Lumikani. "And your name?" Waiting until the girl responded Aselia then turned to a more trusted companion. "Neibet! you're joining us... right?" She asked turning to look at the other familiar face. If anything at least she knew from experience how Neibet worked.

Shifting her bow and quiver into place Aselia gave a smile. "This is our best point to recover food. Once we get any closer to Sauti we will be hard pressed to find anything. I swear those crystal crawlers survive on eating the dirt itself. There's hardly any game out there." Aselia made a twisted face at the idea and settled on the fact it suited them well after what they had done to her. HAH! Her eyes flashed back across the Matron that traveled with them. Leaning into Neibet, Aselia whispered. "I still don't trust her. why would a matron be as dead set on Sauti as I am? It doesn't make sense."

Vukasin- post 8

Vuka grimaced at the sudden hair-ruffle but politely let his face fall back into neutrality, even edging on pleasantness, by the time the gesture ended. He was rather young, he supposed, and he wasn't in any place to ask others not to do things. He offered a smile to the women, regarding the Oban woman first.

"That might be a good idea, unless-- I mean, unless you think that I'd be of more use carting supplies or helping the healers." Really the woman had struck some fear into him, more so than the general dread of war. He offered the Leaf woman a smile then and eyed her trident. It looked... very big. Unwieldy, even. "Well, thank you for...bringing it." He eyed the rest of the crowd and then looked up to his father for some kind of guidance.

Jerarda Post 7

Seeing Animah brought a small hope in her heart, and a smile on her lips. Reaching over she embraced her mate before giving her a passionate kiss. It wasn't that she didn't think she would return, but ...it was better safe than sorry right?

"The extremists are on the move, I've only barely kept ahead of them and I need you to take the children to some place safe. They are on the march to Sauti and I hope I can beat them there.." Jerarda explained after she parted her lips from her lover. Looking over the magic user she had to resist the urge to embrace her once again. Instead she pulled Shima off her back and gave her a kiss on the cheek before passing her off to Animah.

"I promise I will be back, I just need to help convince these blockhead extremists that what they are doing is wrong. Stay safe..." She murmured before touching Animah's shoulder lightly before dashing off again. There was no rest for the weary as she had to make sure she got to Sauti before the rest.

Shima Post 7

Bleary eye'd and barely awake the poor hybrid girl didn't really catch on what was happening until she was moved off of Jera's back and handed into a loving embrace. Looking up she knew it was her other mother and she setteled quite quickly into her arms.

"tired...hungry....they were angry mama...so angry.." she stated with a small yawn. "lots of yelling....worse..party...ever..." Shima managed before she started to drift once again back to sleep.

Callum 8

A familiar voice had Callum craning his head to look out over the growing crowd. As he turned in a semi-circle, the lithe youth caught sight of a familiar face and maneuvered his way closer to her.

"Growing your hair out for a change?" Callum laughed. She had changed so much from the last time he had seen her, but then again, so had he. The boy with visible ribs was finally growing into his height; though his choice in hair style and accessories would say otherwise.

He came to stand near the base of her rock, his eyes drifting to her crossbow. "So...sniper, huh? Try not to shoot me, alright?"

Dris'rynne 6

Sauti was everything she had heard it would be, and so much worse. The chill in the air was enough to send Dris'rynne reaching for the closet cloak to protect her shoulders. For as far as she could see there was nothing truly worth protecting in this barren land, though the more logical side of her knew there was more to Sauti than it's border.

Her grandfather was in the mix somewhere; probably outfitting the hopeful fighters with fresh gear. It wasn't him she worried for, but the family she had left behind. Dris'rynne's grandmother had taken her younger sisters to meet with her parents in Tale. Hopefully they were hidden somewhere safe by now.

She hoped so, anyway.

No doubt her mother would be beside herself with worry when she found out Dris'rynne wasn't with them, but she had already decided to come. So here she was, holding onto some ratty old cloak, without a weapon to her name, but with her lone eye blazing with an inner fire. Let them come; Dris'rynne was ready.

Maya Post 9

Maya smiled a little at the sisters around her. She had been trying to show compassion for them. It wasn't like she was deliberately slowing the troop down, but it also wasn't her first excursion into Sauti. Food was scarce there and she was trying to give her sisters the advantage of food and rest. As far as her tracking skills went, Maya couldn't find trace of the extremists ahead of her. So it would probably mean that they were still ahead of the larger faction at least for now. Likely they would stop in search of food if they were smart, knowing the youngest mystic if the rumors reaching her were true she would already know Sauti and well. Which meant that the Mystic would insist the sisters with her would stop and eat.

It was the Mystic Kadriye that had refused food first. Not that Maya could blame her, she was probably just as on edge about this whole thing as the rest of them. Her eyes scanned over Briella, she had not expected to see that Alkidike again since their rather abrasive departure. Not since she'd burned down their home to keep her daughter safe. Her eyes flicked over the odder looking one in the bunch and reached into her bag. Producing some fruit she changed pace in order to fall back and hand the girl food before moving ahead again. She was in no mood to give any apologies, what she had done, had been right in her mind.

Her gaze shifted to Ayira and before she could open her mouth to say something when Elsheba spoke up. Again another sister who would rather keep going than pause. Maya felt a bit uneasy about what would happen when they reached Sauti. Did everyone in the group think that the leaders would stand aside? If rumor had reached them, then wasn't it possible that any sign of Alkidike could set them off?

Rolling her shoulders Maya shifted the position of her bow and squeezing her thighs urged Kakkara into a faster pace again. It seemed only two of the sisters were ok with stopping the rest wanted to keep going. Fine with her, the sooner she got to Sauti the sooner she could seek out Shukri to see if Teiluj had found shelter with him. She hadn't even stopped for camp yet, listening more to the party with her than her own conscious.

User Image|| Besian and Naria ||

The journey had been long and filled with small skirmishes. In their own troops. It seemed as if some of the Matorians just couldn't, or wouldn't co-operate with the Obans, and the reverse was true. Besian had to track down the dissenters and give both sides a good lecture. He took to disciplining the Obans while Naria dealt with the Matorians. No need to add fuel to the fire by having the wrong figure of leadership deal with people who were already filled with hate. It made finding little things to be happy about all the sweeter.

Such as the cask of honey found with a supply cache that the forward scouts had setup. He'd been so pitiful looking that Naria had taken pity on him and given him a spoonful when he'd foolishly betted against her and lost. The second part of the bet had him looking for the leaders of the gathered people. He'd pulled patrol setup while Naria got to setup the volunteer troops.

Naria herself was glad that the journey was done, else she finally snap and beat some boastful, prideful Oban with the IQ of a Spitorog black and blue. Granted her own didn't make things easier to deal with, but it was the principle of things. You didn't just go around pulling some of the juvenile things they'd been forced to deal with. The Entire. March. Here. It was her own fault for expecting better from members of a standing army.

With a disgusted sigh she went to find someone who would let her drill parts of the riff-raff they'd cobbled together. If they couldn't play nice by themselves, they'd be forced to play nice while learning formations and maneuvers.

|| Freya and Vescillea ||

Freya stood in a tent, where the scouts were coming and going at all times to bring in reports... and Alkidikes they found. Many of the Alkidikes came with word of their sisters movements, claiming that they were against the extremists. Freya did not trust them one bit. She told them flat out that they were unwelcome within the camps.

"You can do one of two things: fight in the front lines or leave. You are not allowed to stay within the camps borders. Go find a different place to hide away. I will not allow any Alkidikes inside further than here... we cannot trust you. If you find more... information hand it to a different scout and let them report it." She didn't take their information at face value either, always double checking with her own scouts, sending people off to confirm the information if they could. If any Alkidike tried to argue or resist being kicked out, she and any nearby warriors would enforce her word... violently if need be.

Meanwhile, Vesillea was on the outskirts of the wind and ice tribe encampment, welcoming the other tribes, thanking them for their aid and directing them to places she thinks they can be more helpful.

"We've got this section defended.. if you could perhaps set up over there." She would point and smile. "And keep any Alkidikes from coming at our sides that may be best... We fight in our own ways and we just do not have time to mess tactics right now. All I ask is that you hold that line at the very least and send word if hostile Alkidikes are seen... Oh! And try not to kill lone Alkidikes on sight. Some of the Alkidikes are on our side... maybe." She was not willing to doubt them as badly as Freya was, why burn all the bridges when you didn't have to? As such, she had been directing the alkidieks she had seen to a smaller camp away from the main ones... but close enough to keep an eye on them and aide them should they be attacked first.

While she made her rounds, checking to ensure people were settling in, had gear and food, Vescillea also directed numerous small healers tents to be set up all along the line of prepared warriors. If she saw children or young adults with no weapon, she would direct them to the nearest healers tent to keep them out of harms way and do something useful. "If you can't fight, you can heal! Or at least fetch things for the healers."

|| Antiope and Enki ||

The travel to Sauti was brief and uneventful, despite the nervous energies running through the air. Enki seemed to have expected a skirmish to have arisen while the people of Jahaur and Tale moved, only to be 'disappointed' when no enemies reared their heads. Antiope have mentioned idly that it was unlikely that the extremists would just magically appear out of thin air. Still as they all gathered together it was quickly apparent Enki was preparing for a fight.

He had segregated himself and begun collecting those who were eager and ready to go into battle. As if expecting the worse outcome and making sure they were well prepared, those who wielded magic or had weapons would soon be gathering at his side. Antiope had to remind him firmly several times that this band of warriors were to be a last resort if peace talks went aray.

|| Matron and Extremists ||

The Alkidike women clamored and shouted and marched on, through Jauhar and then through Tale. There were too many of them to all be able to take boats, on foot was their only option. Most of the Sisters swelled with pride at the size of their horde. Most of the Alkidike had chosen to follow the Matron to Sauti, to take what was theirs.

She lifted a hand, stopping the crowd short of their destination. They could see the smoke from cooking fires, and the tents bunched together stretched far out into the Sauti land. They had gathered allies, that was for sure by the look of it.

The Matron pointed her spear toward the camps. "They think they can hold us back." She called out to her Sisters with a laugh in her throat. "They forget there was once a time when they cowered in fear of us. Where they knew that we had the upper hand." She shook her head in disgust. "I believe it's time to show them once again that this land is Aisha's and her Children's."

She waved her Sisters forward, stopping them only when they were within earshot of the camps ahead of them. "Step aside vermin! Have your leaders move you, or we will do it for you." She called out to the frontline. The Alkidike behind her began to unsheathe their weapons, the sounds of clanking ringing through the air.

Nuri Post 10

Nuri stood to the side as Saraf explained exactly why Kalliope was there, and he did understand a bit. There was pride in the girl, and he had to acknowledge that if she wanted to prove herself, she had every right...as long as she stayed off the front lines. As if his thoughts were heard, Kalliope made comment to go to the tents, her interest in helping the wounded.

But her next actions caused Nuri to start and turn his head away, surprised at her moving close and kissing the scarred man on the cheek. He looked away until she walked away, before looking back and raising his brows at Saraf. Well, she seemed cute and friendly, much like a sister, but that was an interesting display.

As both Saraf and Karothdra agreed on his concerns, he felt himself nodding in turn.

"It seems our leaders also are intent on keeping them away from our camp." It was clear as he caught some Alkidikes leaving the side, "This will help us keep things safe, and keep our secrets as needed. We can't let them sneak in and sabotage our forces before the fight begins."

At leas the had both his allies on his side, and he knew both were well trusted to hold their own. With two strong fighters, any Alk that came their way wouldn't stand a chance, "I much prefer fighting within the army lines, there are too many civilians who lack training. Oba is strong, and we will prove that to both the Alkidikes and our allies."

As soon as he finished his little pep talk, a hush seemed to fall in the area as a voice raced across the land. He turned with the rest of his brother-in-arms to look into the distance, seeing a mass of figures moving toward them. It took but a moment for the voice to reach out, and his hand moved to his whip while he called for Naraka to get close.

"Step aside?" He glanced to both Saraf and Karothdra once more, before taking a deep breath, "It seems our waiting is over."

alek post eight

"The healers," Alek answered without hesitation, clearing his throat and looking to Kayin following his reply. There was no way that he would be fighting anything if he could help it, and knowing he would be one of the ones patching up his sisters if they were injured made him feel more confident that they would all get out of here alive.

But he only felt confident for a moment. It was a state of being he could hold onto for a mere handful of minutes these days. Faint clanks and angry words easily reached his pointed ears, and Alek turned his attention to the Alkidike he couldn't quite see. "Are they here?"
